Only A Clover Likes Ike

I don’t like Ike. Many would claim he’s a type of necessary evil and we shouldn’t demand better. Many are Clovers, whose mooing and braying of regurgitated war memes makes me like Ike even less.

As a mouthpiece of the Parasite Class, Ike was a one man shop of horrors who should be hated and villified for all time as a demon scaremonger that convinced millions of Mr and Mrs Cleavers to throw all their hard earned wealth into the flaming maw of the Moloch State as a sort of sacrifice against the allegedly lethal scribblings of Karl Marx.

Eisenhower’s farewell speech was a long-winded hysterical and calculated lie designed to inflame the peasants about a fascist monster tale called the “Cold War.”

He convinced Ward and June to hold as their highest value, their contribution to a military policy against Russia. Like Reagan, he played the part of a noble warrior cowboy soul captaining a grand metaphysical struggle that should take over our minds and souls, in shameful manner that puts our current generation of Clovers to shame.

Ike’s words were Wilsonian, even messianic. The job of U.S. military policy is to “foster progress in human achievement” and enhance “dignity and integrity” the world over. The Unicorn of Government is now an ever expanding herd of magic ponies we can ride to the ends of the earth. Saddle up patriots the war isn’t over. The UN Preamble is the new higher law of our land. “We the peoples of the United Nations are fighting everyone to bring four freedoms to every man at the point of our righteous rifles.”

An enemy stands in the way of achieving this dream, sayeth the U.N. Prophet Ike, and this enemy is “global in scope, atheistic in character, ruthless in purpose, and insidious in method.” This great struggle “commands our whole attention, absorbs our very beings.”

We the crusty apparatchiks of the U.N. are a jealous God. We will not tolerate the crusty apparatchiks of the Soviet Herd of Socialistic Unicorns imposing every manner of economic control over Russia and a few satellites. Proponents of limited government are a treasonous band of Unicorn Deniers.

Ignore the stirring in your own loins for the life that lies ahead. Follow the crazed fantasies of the old dessicated loins of your councils of living fossils. Russians, Martians, and faraway countries are coming for your freedoms. The rich authoritarian states are at war with the poor authoritarian states. Forget what was said about them only a few years ago being our valiant ally in the struggle against Japan and Germany.

The prophet Dirty Harry Truman has shown me the sacred oracles. There is no peace. Demand that your congresscritters continue to send me your treasures. You are the United Colonies of America. There will be no postwar disarmament. You are a colonists of the greatest plantation ever to exist. I will keep increase the U.S. industrial dependence on government spending, especially the American corporations operating overseas.

There is a great tide of freedom throughout the lands enthralled to the Soviet Herd of Socialistic Unicorns. I will pretend this great wave of liberalization by Kruschev doesn’t exist. I will spread lies and fear of this greatly weaker “rival” of the endlessly unraveling and dwindling nonviable Soviet Parasite state.

We the Fascist Clovers of the United Colonial States will not only fail to encourage this liberalization, but instead, pretend it isn’t happening so as to build up a new permanent form of socialism at home.

I am the almighty Ike. I decree a neverending peacetime socialism. One that appeals to big business, and I will be its spokesman. The libertarians who support Cold War opponent Robert Taft for the Republican nomination in 1952 are commie pinkos, cowering beneath my bludgeons.

The Eisenhower Machine by brute force has usurped the party nomination. The great power establishments know that I will always put my backers and supporters first, and that this tradition will never die, because never will the authority of the Corrupted Clover United Colonies of America ever die.

  1. Late reply, but I think the most infuriating part of the whole Cold War is that the people running the whole thing didn’t really want to stop Communism. If they’d really cared about it, then maybe they wouldn’t have snatched defeat from the oh-so-threatening jaws of victory in Vietnam. Maybe they would have paid more attention to the (often outspoken) communists infiltrating the highest levels of our government and society, rather than denouncing the people who tried to warn them as kooks or slanderers. Maybe we wouldn’t have been PROPPING UP THE USSR behind the scenes… but we were. It was never about liberating all those people or stopping the Communist espionage machine. It was just about propping up a bogeyman to keep people distracted and justify raping the Constitution. A little food aid here and there keeps the starving peasants JUST satisfied enough to stave off a revolt, without requiring the evilmongers running the place to loosen their grip. We could have “won” the “Cold War” a lot more easily if we’d literally just done NOTHING… which to my mind at least, seems to indicate that TPTB didn’t WANT to win, and that some other game was afoot.

  2. I dislike Ike because much like George W Bush, he deferred in political matters to his Vice President. Ike’s VP was Richard Nixon.

I dislike Ike because he continued the new deal agencies, expanded social security, and launched the fascist interstate highway system. Ike violated Posse Comitatus by sending troops to enforce federal court orders and kicked off a whole new free-for-all of Northern Carpetbaggerery upon what little private property still existed in the South during his presidency.

A majoritarian conservative like Ike is only as good as what he conserves. In Europe, conservatism tends toward the conservation of the aristocratic order. In the Middle East, conservatism tend towards the conservation of brutal theocracies. In the United States, conservatism tends toward the conservation of fundamentalist christian institutions and runaway deficit spending on expansive overseas empires.

I don’t want the Ikes or the states to conserve anything, but rather to adhere to the founding principles of freedom philosophy. Our younger generations have nearly lost the very concept of freedom and individual responsibility.

In the fanatic battles of Ike’s fifty year long cold war, it has gotten to where the West has no idea what it is about our society that is worth defending against Communism.

I am an open-minded Liberty Optimizer, willing to submit to partial tax slavery under a variety of schemes using the go-with-what-works approach.

Like the Chimp, Ike’s methods did not work. Ike just kept grinning, and really didn’t stand for anything much at all except perpetuation of the status quo. Ike just kept ascending the shiny podium soapbox and read whatever speeches the leeches handed to him, not using his critical faculties to think independently about anything he was saying.

Freedom needs more than the barely average Ike, and can be preserved only if it is treated as a supreme principle which must not be sacrificed for particular advantages or expediency. What is seen and unseen in the political economy and first principles are both critically important.

The Pragmatism and Moderate Conservatism of Ike inevitably leads to dictatorial socialism. I advocate retirement and putting out to pasture all the false principles of conservatism and progressivism. Let’s say a final goodbye to both Ike and FDR.

In order to achieve greater mastery over our fate, the emerging new wisdom of our age is to apply to each task both the ancient and the emerging ‘social techniques’ most appropriate to its solution, unfettered by any dogmatic belief or concession-seeking mob coalitions.

  3. Why is it that Clovers find dignitaries so dignified? If Ike is really just some guy from Texas (and not an illegitimate royal from Buchovina, Austria-Hungary, why is he so docile and pathetic during all the saluting, marching, and pageantry?

A lot of the evil of the brown shirts was the brown shirts and the dehumanizing dress up and play acting one normally stops engaging in before preschool.

  4. Eric,

What does the past teach us? It teaches us that the make up of mankind is pretty much constant. Fear rules the masses. So does selfishness, covetousness and greed. The masses are ALWAYS easily controlled by the few. All the few have to do is sell fear and envy.

From the Tory loyalists of the colonial era to today’s patriotic American flag waver, people will choose the illusion of security over fear every time. And rulers will lie to them every time. People prefer the slavery of Egypt over the uncertainty of acting on their own despite the promise of a sure reward. No matter how hard their taskmasters burden them, they still prefer bondage to liberty. Liberty is scary because they fear responsibility above all. It is an anthropological pattern. Call it the 80/20 rule, call it worker bees and the queen, call it leaders and followers, call it what you will.

What I have learned from history is the cynical adage… “The only thing we learn from history is that we never learn anyhing from history.”

Dr. Paul has remained as cheerful as he has because he understands the “remnant mentality”. http://www.lewrockwell.com/orig3/nock3b.html

What his expectations are is anyone’s guess. Historically the only time the peasants revolt is when their hearth and home are directly affected. When Boobus Americanus no longer has steady food or a slave job to report to, then he will act according to the fear that has always governed him and lash out. It isn’t pretty. There is chaos, tumult, riot and bloodshed. The first smooth talker who comes around promising a return to normalcy usually gets to be the next oppressor. Meet the new boss, same as the old boss. We know the future is not rosy. We know there will be a global meltdown and global hyperinflation. ALL the central banks are massively printing, the ECB, the Fed, China and Japan.

We don’t know the details of the outcome but unfortunately we do know the pattern. And unlike our founding era, the character of the people is vastly lacking and a proper thesis for rebuilding a free and orderly society upon the ruins is nowhere to be seen. Indeed, as we speak millions are working feverishly to fork over 30-40% of their money just because some talking head in a suit says to and has an army roughly equivalent to 1% of the rest of us. We are too helpless to even vote ourselves free from this burden without bloodshed. We get the gov’t we deserve.

As for you, preach it good and straight. There is a remnant out there who need the comfort of the message. They need to know they are not alone. As for the slaves… everlasting contempt is their lot.

“If ye love wealth greater than liberty, the tranquility of servitude greater than the animating contest for freedom, go home from us in peace. We seek not your counsel, nor your arms. Crouch down and lick the hand that feeds you; may your chains sit lightly upon you, and may posterity forget that ye were our countrymen.”
    — Samuel Adams

“Good evening, London. Allow me first to apologize for this interruption. I do, like many of you, appreciate the comforts of the everyday routine, the security of the familiar, the tranquility of repetition. I enjoy them as much as any bloke. But in the spirit of commemoration – whereby those important events of the past, usually associated with someone’s death or the end of some awful bloody struggle, are celebrated with a nice holiday – I thought we could mark this November the fifth, a day that is sadly no longer remembered, by taking some time out of our daily lives to sit down and have a little chat.

There are, of course, those who do not want us to speak. I suspect even now orders are being shouted into telephones and men with guns will soon be on their way. Why? Because while the truncheon may be used in lieu of conversation, words will always retain their power. Words offer the means to meaning and for those who will listen, the enunciation of truth. And the truth is, there is something terribly wrong with this country, isn’t there?

Cruelty and injustice…intolerance and oppression. And where once you had the freedom to object, to think and speak as you saw fit, you now have censors and systems of surveillance, coercing your conformity and soliciting your submission. How did this happen? Who’s to blame? Well certainly there are those who are more responsible than others, and they will be held accountable. But again, truth be told…if you’re looking for the guilty, you need only look into a mirror.

I know why you did it. I know you were afraid. Who wouldn’t be? War. Terror. Disease. There were a myriad of problems which conspired to corrupt your reason and rob you of your common sense. Fear got the best of you and in your panic, you turned to the now High Chancellor Adam Sutler. He promised you order. He promised you peace. And all he demanded in return was your silent, obedient consent.”

    • The answer may be to stop being the masses altogether. Why learn their slave tongues and rage inducing lies. Refuse to participate and cooperate.
If scientists can’t crack a dolphin, whale, or crow’s code, shouldn’t we be able to construct our own Cockney or Ebonics, beyond the comprehension of the Clovers and the Clover Keepers?

  5. I stopped reading this a few lines through. What the heck bringing up a guy that has been dead since I was a kid? I think your article is many decades late.

    Clover

    • That’s right, Clover. If something is “old” it is by definition no longer relevant. Let’s forget all about the past; history is bunk! All that matters is whats going on today. Nothing to learn from what happened yesterday.

This is Lesson One in the book, How to Grow a Clover.

      • Yes you can learn by history. If someone from the past angers you then you have the problem. I was just thinking about the past. Maybe you want to go back to those days. The days where farming included picking corn by hand and using horses. Waling bean fields for weeds. Having your car if you had one top out at 20 hp. Maybe you want to go back to the past.

        Clover

          • No Eric, you do not say one may learn from the past when you say things like “I don’t like Ike”

Ike has been dead my whole lifetime. I am sure that you never met Ike. All you know is what someone wrote about Ike possibly true and possibly false. Possibly biased possibly not.

            Clover

        • So let’s summarize:
He’s dead and gone, so his actions have no importance?

And his legacy died with him?

Or, because it’s the past, it has no relevance?

This passes for “thinking” in your mind?

    • Clover, you’re making yourself a poster boy for eugenics again. When the elite see the level of critical thinking your ilk engages in, it’s no wonder they call for parental licensing, forced sterilization and abortion. It is unfortunate that your brethren in government have implemented so many social and safety programs to defeat most of the natural selection process amongst Homo sapiens.

You claim we have nothing to learn from the past? The past, poor li’l Clover, is all we have to learn from. We are each the sum of our experiences and the wisest among us assimilate what others have learned as well. There a lot of books, essays and speeches by people that have “been dead” a lot longer than when you were a kid that remain priceless. In many cases the archaeological evidence alone of past cultures (dead people) teaches us all manner of things we wouldn’t have learned any other way.

Years ago an elderly woman visiting an archaeological excavation my dad was conducting asked him what the value of archaeology was. He explained to her that in order to know where you’re going you must first know where you’ve been. The past is arguably the most important part of the map of humanity. Failure to use its guidance has invariably led us down the same dead end paths time after time. We can speculate all we want to about the future and we can observe what presently happens around us, but to really understand human nature we need to know as much about the past as we can.

With history we can identify the villainous and benevolent archetypes and compare them to who is currently in charge. We can use it as a map to which paths take us where we want to go and which paths lead us to the shearing shed or the slaughter house. Perhaps with this inane post, we’ve identified one of your major problems Clover; you’re wandering through life without a map.

      • It’s pretty clear that so many people just feel in the moment with low time preferences. Easily manipulated by those that want to rule. I wonder when and if these eugenics programs succeed what will be the result? If they slowly eliminate the clover from the gene pool and execute all the libertarians… there will just be the sociopaths. What’s going to happen? Do they think all of their kind can just get along. They fight with each other now. What happens when they don’t have clovers to play with and libertarians to fight?

        • I often wonder WHAT their endgame is too, Brent.

I think we’ve gone down this path in a discussion before; “Hey sociopath…when you’ve ‘won’, what then?

When you look back on the Soviet rulers, driving around in their crappy Zil limos inferior to an 80’s Toyota…was it really that grand? Is that what they want? Is power such an aphrodisiac that you’d feel fulfilled living in a mud hut, lording it over those in grass huts?

          • Their endgame is power – to be the ones in control. It is the thing they live for. And it is something that is almost impossible for non-psychopaths to grasp.

    • Douché, Clover. Please watch the first few seconds of Ike’s limo arriving. What does that long car with the flags bring to your mind?

To my mind, any stripe of fur coat wearing petty strong man is going to step out of the pimp mobile motorcade and represent his colors.

Ike is going to emerge and strut about wearing all his war bling. All his honky homeys and Uncle Sams and Toms are going to hoot and holler about the superiority of the Westside.

Like many of Ike’s Cold Warriors, you appear to suffer from domain dependence, and until you overcome this affliction, you will never know what it means to think like an adult.

How do you see yourself? Imagine a future time when English is unknown. Who or what would you point to and gesture to in order to signify to another “this is me.”
