Electricity: For The Rich Only?

What if electrical power in the home was only for rich people? What about heat? What about running water? What if that divide between the rich and the poor could be delineated by who had the ability to turn on light at the flick of a switch and who did not?

Many people worry about an event like a solar flare that would wipe out electrical power, casting us back about 200 years. We’d have no refrigeration, no transportation, no climate control and no lights. But in that situation, we’d all be in the same boat. No matter how wealthy you are, any unprotected electrical items would still be useless.

What if the real threat was simply that no one could afford to pay the electric bill? What if prices escalated to the point that it was a choice between food and electricity? What if, home by home, the lights went out across America?

Across the world, the prices of electricity are rising dramatically. Customers have been warned that they will face increases. Smart meters have been installed nearly everywhere. Many places are instituting time-of-day pricing, making it only affordable to do your laundry in the middle of the night. The UK has announced that people can expect rolling blackouts beginning sometime next year and their power costs have risen 31% since 2010.

Part of the reason Americans will face higher prices is President Obama’s War on Coal. (In his own words he promised to bankrupt the coal industry.) If Obama can’t close down power producers through the front door, he does it through the back door, via the EPA. Even though the climate change theory through CO2 emissions has been completely debunked, the EPA is still passing draconian laws to reduce our “carbon footprint” and thus raise the prices on power. Obama has shut down 8 coal mines across 3 states, and he and his buddies at the EPA have plans to scale back production at over 200 coal-powered plants via a regulatory assault.

The United Nations carbon taxes have forced many areas across the globe into power monopolies. While small companies will go out of business struggling to meet the new regulations, General Electric (a large Obama contributor) has received a waiver, exempting them from meeting these new standards.

In providing the likes of GE with a waiver, the White House is greasing the skids for a giant consolidation of the energy industry, shutting down competition and creating artificial scarcity – thereby driving up costs for the American people.

The deliberate deindustrialization of America has nothing to do with protecting the environment. Whereas the competitiveness of America’s energy industry is being crippled by the EPA and the White House, China and Mexico are building dozens of new power plants every year which fall well short of the clean-burning technology standards adhered to in the United States.

This is about the implementation of the UN’s Agenda 21, which operates under the guise of “sustainable development” yet is clearly part of a stealth agenda to centralize control over energy, bankrupting America in the process as part of the move towards a crony system of one world governance.

We are facing dramatic global increases in the prices of food, water and power. This will serve to widen the divide between the rich and the poor and effectively end the middle class.

In Jackson County, Alabama, for example, the price of water bills has quadrupled, making an average monthly water bill over $300. Lizzie Bennett writes that many residents no longer have running water in their homes because of these exorbitant bills.

“Many people have opted to buy drums of water from petrol stations rather than pay their ever increasing bills. They use these drums of water for drinking, washing and in their portable toilets which can be seen dotting back yards across the area, the modern version of the outhouse. They pay a fee to a sanitation company to remove the waste. It’s cheaper than letting the city take care of it.”

A popular culture comparison would be with the movie, The Hunger Games. In the movie, citizens of the Districts were relegated to cooking over open fires and lighting their rooms with candles. No one had transportation or power. They were not allowed to hunt to supplement their meager food allotments and in the heroine’s District, they were not allowed to use the coal the area was rich with. Uniformed “peacekeepers” patrolled the districts to ensure that the rules were strictly adhered to and that the excruciating poverty was the standard for all residents.

However, when the main characters went to the Capitol, a mere train ride away, it was another world, with advanced technology, power at the touch of a button and enough food at each meal to feed a family for a week. The Capitol glowed with industry, cleanliness and light and the difference of living standards was like the difference between night and day.

The increased prices of modern day necessities can be used as leverage for many types of governmental control. Consider Agenda 21, right from the website of the UN Department for Sustainable Development.

Agenda 21 is a comprehensive plan of action to be taken globally, nationally and locally by organizations of the United Nations System, Governments, and Major Groups in every area in which human impacts on the environment.

To make sure that’s totally clear: A plan of action. Got it. To be taken globally…okay – everyone must participate. In every area in which human impacts on the environment….yep, that covers everyone and everything in the entire world. It’s a way to take over the world that sounds so warm and fuzzy that people will pay money to get in on it!

So in true Agenda 21 fashion, wiping out power to outlying regions rich with their own natural resources will be a great way to corral the hungry cold masses into the megacities that have been designed for us. According to alternative journalist Susanne Posel, “Humans are now being compared to invasive species that commandeer territory, disburse indigenous wildlife and destroy the planet in the process…The move out of rural areas and densification of urbanized centers is being pushed in the American mainstream media as the answer to the devastating effects of humans on the environment. The elimination of suburban areas as compact cities become inundated with more people, there is a need to reinvent these centers to accommodate these swelling numbers.”

Not only will the loss of affordable utilities help round people up geographically, it will perpetuate a massive die-off as people living in homes that were not designed to function without electrical power succumb to many different fates. People will freeze to death in their homes in the winter, burn to death or die of carbon monoxide poisoning as they try to keep warm in homes not designed with proper chimneys and ventilation, perish of food poisoning as they consume items that have been left unrefrigerated, die from being unable to keep life-saving medications at the proper temperature to prevent spoilage or contract diseases like typhus from improper sanitation when water no longer flows from the taps.

So, what can we do to maintain our independence as the powers that be try to return us to serfdom through limiting our access to affordable necessities?

First you must learn to provide for many of your necessities alone. Grow food, join a co-op, raise chickens and rabbits. Even a small salad garden in a kitchen window can help you to offset high food prices.

Second, reduce your dependence on the power grid. Use rain barrels to collect water, direct the gray water from your washing machines to reservoirs, hang your clothes to dry, and use solar lighting whenever possible.

Find other ways to stay warm. This can be difficult if you rent but it can still be done. Consider making modifications to allow for the use of portable wood heaters, look into different types of camping heaters and make your plans and purchase your supplies well before you need them. Learn how to safely store fuel for these secondary devices. Invest in battery operated C02 monitors (and extra batteries). Get sleeping bags with a warmth rating for low temperatures, consider a small tent where you and family members can sleep in your living room to pool body heat, and stock up on cold weather clothing like hats, fingerless gloves, long underwear and heavy sweaters. Find ways to insulate and separate one main living area off from the rest of the house by closing doors, hanging curtains in doorways, etc.

Watch the prices of your utilities. As the prices begin to rise, more and more people will be unable to pay their bills and eventually their power will be shut off. Check your bill each month and as prices increase, use less power. Redefine necessities. You can hand wash your clothing, cook on a woodstove or outdoor grill and can foods to preserve them instead of relying on a large chest freezer. None of these are the way things are commonly done these days, but if you can manage to keep power on for the most basic necessities, like running the pump for your well, running a refrigerator, and maybe powering up a laptop, you’ll be living in luxury in comparison to the neighbors who now have no power, no heat and no running water.

Prep, prep and then prep some more. The end of the American way of life is upon us. Stock up on beans, bullets and bandaids. If you’re new to the idea of prepping, check out some sites like Ready Nutrition (especially the 52 Weeks to Preparedness Series), Survival Blog, The Survival Mom, and SHTFplan. The clock is ticking.

  1. Energy freedom is FREEDOM from the man. When people can have independent, safe, clean, self-sufficient energy sources right on their own property is the day you can tell Uncle to go to hell. That’s why they don’t want anyone to truly be free. The amount of human creativity and “energy” that would be released after being freed from these slavish chains would literally up-end the world order as we know it.

    • Quite right MoT. I’m convinced that the REA was not as much a benevolent effort to provide gun-vernment subsidized electricity to rural farmers as it was to prevent the free market from inventing cost effective independent power sources. To maintain control you must create dependencies. Unchecked, free market solutions often create independence. When I was a child in the 1960’s, there was no way I could have had my thoughts and artwork published where literally thousands of people could see it because I had no “connections.” But the free market took DARPAnet from a tool for a very few scientists to exchange files with into what we now know as the Internet, allowing all of us to publish anything, worldwide! This is why the bastards in charge want an Internet kill switch.

Imagine what would have happened to the PTB’s control if small relatively inexpensive power generation equipment became ubiquitous because rural farmers wanted electricity and the big utilities refused to invest in the distribution infrastructure. Who knows what we might have now. But the PTB headed that off at the pass with the taxpayer funded REA. They also effectively neutered nuclear power through regulations, raising the cost of nuclear production to that of fossil and hydro. None of this is done by accident. Let’s say you did come up with a clean, small and efficient source of onsite electrical power: First the mega-corporations would sue and steal it from you. Then they would have the gun-vernment regulate it to death.

The very wealthy would be the only ones able to afford their own independent electrical generation (just as it is now) and rest of us would remain on “the grid” (Hey! Isn’t “grid” synonymous with “matrix”?) if we had power at all. Then you’d either do what you’re told or they cut off your power. When I was still living in the Communist-wealth of Virginia I wanted to build a porch off the back of my house. I spoke to my father in law about this and he asked if I had a building permit. I balked and said the county could kiss my ass, I was going to build that porch; and since they weren’t paying for it, it was none of their business and there was nothing they could do about it. He said “They can deny you occupancy.” So I responded “Oh yeah? I already live here, what’re they gonna do, throw me out?” He said “No. They’ll have Virginia Power turn your power off.” He was right of course (I knew it because we both worked for the power company). The crime of building onto my own house without some officious little bureaucrat’s permission would have left me sitting in the cold and dark; Land of the fee, home of the slave. The porch didn’t get built. Is this a great country or what?

      • And the average american doesn’t understand why the economy sucks. It sucks because of all the economic behavior that doesn’t happen because of all the petty government control.

        • Just a quick snapshot of two of our personal “costs of government”-

          * Taxes on real estate: appx. $2,000 annually.
          * Taxes on motor fuel: appx. $800 annually.

Assuming these costs remain fixed (they won’t; they always go up) we will have “contributed” –

$40,000 in real estate taxes over 20 years.
          $16,000 in motor fuels taxes.

Given we’ve already been “contributing” for more than 20 years, these figures should be doubled. Then doubled again, because probably we’ll live (and be paying) for another 20 years after that.

So, not even looking at federal and state taxes, or the 15 percent FICA I pay, we will have lost around $200k over our working lives just via real estate and motor fuels taxes.

If we had the SS money stolen from us for the past 20 years – and didn’t have to pay rent to live on “our” land every year – we’d be very comfortable and able to work because we want to, not because we need to.

Where do I sign up for the I Hate Uncle club?

          • That’s real cheap. That’s not as an argument of any sort, just a reaction. For me:

            Property 1) ~$1800
            Property 2) ~$5000

Put them together I still have less physical property than you do.

I totaled up all the big hitters for me… this did not include gas tax. Only what the feds take from my labor (yes, I count both sides of FICA) and what the state takes plus real estate. Over 1/3rd of my income right there.

If I could get permission for my own business it would be even more hands out.

Eventually I may just quit working.

            What’s the point?

As it is I’ve added millions of dollars to the world economy through my creativity. Actual creation. Where people put food on the table building what I came up with. Who knows what some of that did for the people who bought it… I have no clue what that adds to the number. Creation adds to the economy in a layered way, building up and up.

It’s not a boast, it’s just an insight into what an engineer does for the world vs. someone like Romney who moves money around but never creates anything. Who is a vampire on other people’s productivity because of the way the system is set up.

            • It is!

We were paying easily twice as much in real estate taxes at our old place – which was a smaller place on much less land. The difference? Northern Va. vs. SW VA.

Amen on the contributions of the productive.

I’m happy just knowing my bread isn’t the result of blood money.

          • @BrentP… Very valid points. Politicians, as is everything else in government, create NOTHING! As Nietzsche said, “Everything the State says is a lie, and everything it has it has stolen.”

        • It’s the broken window pane argument as brought to you by your ever unfriendly feds. What you have is a broken window pane and you’re having to beg for permission to fix it with what little money is left over after having it thieved away by the very ones giving you their “blessings”. Irony is that the window fell into disrepair as a result of the Feds thieving and thus leaving you less money to take care of it. Answer: get rid of government.

      • I’m not big on nuclear energy at all, at least the kind that we now have with our fascist government/business cabal. Thorium reactors would seem to be possible and a far easier thing to implement than the filthy reactors we have today.

My only hope is that Free-Energy would result in cottage industries taking up the charge and doing an end-run on the matrix as we now know it. Imagine all the jobs created in building, maintaining, designing home generators, new construction, etc.! Now you could run all the lights as long as you want, and whatever kind of bulb you want, without a fascist diktat commanding you as to how you’re to “behave”. That’s what they fear! That you don’t need them anymore. That you could do what you want without them. And that’s true freedom and power.

  2. As the article says–this is all Agenda 21, Maurice Strong’s wet dream.

The Club of Rome documents spelled it all out almost 40 years ago; make environmental causes a religion, and blame humanity.

    The exterminate.

Another set of documents spelled out exactly how to accomplish that without raising a ruckus: Injection, Injunction, Ingestion.

Poisonous vaccines and pharmaceuticals, laws–like the UN’s own Codex Alimentarius–against nutritional supplements, and GMO’s–poisonous foods designed to shorten and weaken life.

Doubt that GMO’s are designed to weaken and kill you?

My pre-med major was biochemistry and I’ve been investigating this, because the claims all sounded so wild. But it’s true. “RoundUp-Ready” crops resist the herbicide RoundUp–aka glyphosate. Glyphosate works by blocking a plant’s ability to absorb nutrient minerals from soil, killing it. RoundUp-ready plants resist it enough to take up what they need–barely. BUT, it leaves their produce starved of trace minerals–the very thing that’s severely lacking in the average American diet.

Thus, we’re eating calorie-rich, totally nutrionless foods. The resulting epidemic of nutritional deficiencies is killing us. Our lifespans are declining, obesity, diabetes, cancer, and heart disease are skyrocketing.

A nice little side effect? It’s making the medical-industrial complex trillions in profit.

Guess who started the allopathic medicine monopoly, to the exclusion of naturopathy and other branches of medicine? And who owned/owns large portions of the pharma industry, especially the oncological units?

    That’s right. The Rockefellers.

It’s WORSE than “The Hunger Games”.

What I truly don’t understand, except perhaps by knowing that the Elites are psychopaths incapable of denying their own impulses, is:
How do they think they’re going to live in bright, airy, high-tech enclaves when they’ve killed it off everywhere else?

Our level of technology requires such deep supply chains–and such specialization of labor–that it simply can’t exist in the hellish dystopian future they’re creating.

They, too, will eventually live in mud huts digging for grubs.

But I suppose they think that’s acceptable–because they’ll have Power. And Control.

What a laughable bunch of inadequacies they are.

    • You’d get along really well with my buddy down in Austin. He talks about this kind of thing all the time and I simply can’t keep up. There’s simply too much shit!

      • It’s somewhat of an obsession. To put it mildly! 😉

But it’s empowering; if you know their game, it all becomes transparent. And it’s quite practical; for instance, the absolute LAST thing I’ll ever do if I get cancer–which by the way is totally optional–is go through standard treatment. Hell, 80% of oncologists would refuse chemo–they know it doesn’t work!

But it’s more than that. It’s almost a relief, as though by knowing what they’re doing, you can stand above it–and take solace that they’ve done exactly the same things previously throughout history, and it never ends well…

        …for them.

Sucks in the meantime for us. But if you survive it you can come out the other side quite well-off–and take the time to go piss on their festering graves.

I’m actually more cheerful about the whole thing these days than I was even a year ago, because I’m determined to survive it. Our ancestors who went through these things prospered; and each time the pendulum swings, it swings further toward freedom and prosperity.

        • The more I know the more depressing it becomes for me.

As to chemo, I read somewhere that the study has never been done to find out what does the beneficial effects that are claimed. It could very well be that the baking soda, in the mix to make the toxic chemicals not kill immediately, that is responsible for all the benefit.

        • I know a couple back in Texas who took their young daughter off of chemo and went all natural and she’s now completely clean. The doctors had told them to prepare for a funeral but now call it a miracle. Miracle indeed! Miracle they beat back Texas CPS who wanted to force that poison back into her. Also have a family friend in Japan who tried some new alternative treatment and the cancers are in remission. Thank God! All by going outside of the orthodox system. I’ve lost my mom and sister to cancer and I’ll be damned if they’ll toy with me.

          • @MoT and Brent:

The more I learn post-med-school, the less faith I have in allopathic medicine.

My wife is still in medical practice; she’s on OB/GYN, so I keep abreast (pun intended) of developments and still read some journals.

Here’s where allopathic medicine is great:
            * trauma–you’re in a huge car crash, broken bones, lacerated liver; get thee to a trauma center and they’ll stitch you up good.
            * life-threatening acute infection–despite resistance antibiotics are still life-savers…though they’re becoming less effective and Big Pharma is ignoring vast areas of research to keep them relevant.
            * last-ditch attempts to repair the body when it’s failing from a lifetime of malnutrition.

I’m now certain that allopathic medicine is just about useless for anything else!

Chronic conditions–almost all of them–are not “genetic”. Yes, there are genetic predispositions to certain ills; and there are (very rare) metabolic disorders that are purely genetic. BUT, even many of those are triggered by intra-uterine malnutrition! For example, cystic fibrosis–almost 100% preventable by adequate selenium in the mother’s diet.

But diabetes? Heart disease? Arthritis? Cancer? Nutrition! And lifestyle. But you don’t have to be a super-athlete, just do some very basic self-maintenance. Walking, for instance, or low-intensity gardening.

The drug companies, in collusion with the AMA, have used the State to actively suppress and persecute natural medicine. If it’s not patentable, you don’t get to use it.

Remember “laetrile”, aka vitamin B17? Apricot seeds? Yeah. It prevents and (in many cases) cures cancer. They went after it tooth, nail, and claw in the 70’s because it threatens one of the most lucrative franchises in the world–the cancer “treatment” industry. It’s illegal to treat with it here; but go to Tijuana, and you get an average of three times the life expectancy with many cancers.

Look up DCA (dichloro acetic acid)–it went to the Supreme Court, which told terminal cancer patients “Nah, you can’t have it. The FDA says so. Now go die quietly, there you go.”

I don’t blame the actual practitioners; my neighbor who’s also a friend is a pediatric oncologist. He’s just practicing what he was taught, and he’s not ready to look at the bigger picture and ask why pediatric cancer is up 10,000% in many cases. But at the higher levels, they know they’re fraudulent–but there’s good money to be made perpetuating the problem.

The good news is you don’t have to be a victim. There’s so much good information available now, or you can find a good naturopathic doctor to guide you.

            • Meth,

I just happened to read an article the other day that mentioned the incidence of undescended testicles is up 60 percent. Apparently, the trigger is the presence of artificial sources of estrogen in water and food…

          • Methyl, They love to point out that the rise in cancers is through “early detection” and never even posit the notion it could actually be through our contaminated food chain. That would be verboten! It would also bring about the GMO food lobby and their lawyers down on you like a ton of bricks. They poison you from cradle to grave and then make you pay for it while crooning about how everyones life spans have been increased while never mentioning the seniors dying off now didn’t eat the shit people have today. Those numbers are, pardon the pun, “cooked”.

          • @Eric re: testicles (love that word)

Yes that’s right; and it’s much more insidious than just that. Their brains are “feminized” in the womb; young girls are going into puberty earlier and earlier–my wife just saw a menstruating 7-year-old for the first time.

Once again if you dig through the globalists’ documents you find some nuggets. Early in the plastics industry, they were looking for plasticizing agents to make them less brittle. There were thousands of candidate compounds, narrowed down to a few dozen. Of all the good alternatives, a relatively more expensive bis-phenol-A (BPA) was chosen…and made affordable by a Rockefeller/Standard Oil-owned chemical company.

Interestingly, BPA has strong estrogenic (feminizing) characteristics.

You can also blame a large part of breast cancer on that, and other, estrogenic chemicals…including the hormones injected into food animals.

            Charming isn’t it?

I don’t know if it’s the chemicals, or the glamorization of the lifestyle, or both…but have ya’ll noticed that guys 12-24 are all a LOT lighter in the loafers than they were when we were kids? Narrow shoulders, effeminate mannerisms…

Kind of like we’re being turned into Eloi.

But it’s not like Aldous Huxley, Darwin, Galton, and H G Wells hung out together or wrote about these things 100 years ago.

It’s just coincidence. And you’re a conspiracy theorist. And a racist.

            • My wife works as an editor for a peer-reviewed medical journal so she often passes along some interesting articles for me to read. This was one of them. Of course, no coverage – not even a peep – on the TeeVee.

I’ve read about BPA before – and agree with your assessment in re the 12-24 cadre today. We spent a day walking around Virginia Tech about a month ago and – unprompted by me – my wife commented on the smallness of the college-age guys. How spindly and – yes, effeminate – they (most of them) looked. I got to thinking about this some. The guys I went to college with 20 something years ago were physically larger/more masculine. Typically 180-200 pounds and not fat. We weren’t football jocks or athletes, either. We were just typical active young guys. Walking around Tech today at 6ft 3 and 212, I feel like a freaking Neanderthal. (Dom’s really big!)

              Something’s up for sure….

  3. One of the main objections to nuclear power plants has always been the amount of nuclear waste produced. However, according to sources at TVA, nuclear engineers/scientists have recently devised a way to recycle nuclear waste, reducing that argument. So what’s the hold up? Why haven’t we heard about this from the media? Because gov’t regulations won’t allow them to do it. Why not? Perhaps because the regulations are out of date, and you know how hard it is to change any gov’t document or gov’t bureaucrat’s mind about things. The fact is, until very recently, there hadn’t been a new text book written on the subject of nuclear engineering in TWENTY YEARS, despite the fact that nuclear technology and plant designs have seen major improvements in that time. (I know this first-hand because a close relative–a nuclear engineering professor–was asked by a major publisher to write the new textbook. Trust me, his credentials are impeccable.) It is typical for bureaucrats to rely on published volumes for their information, so unless they have put forth the effort to keep abreast of all the current progress and, assuming they do read ongoing published scientific papers, have those publishings organized so that they can pull it out when they want to verify or quantify a point toward modernizing regulations, they aren’t going to argue the point with another government robot and make waves, risking their cushy, comfortable, routine regulated, regulated routine federal job (and pension) by trying to change the way things have been done for literal decades and generations. And who can blame them? The System, at every level but the top, rewards apathy and conformity and punishes innovation by “boat rockers”. So they don’t make waves….or progress. And the people, the environment, the economy, the world suffer for it.

  4. Here’s the right answer to shutting down coal fired plants:
    http://atomicinsights.com/

Rod Adams has been following these issues for some time now. It’s not necessarily about about Agenda 21, although Obama’s White house might be aligned with that thinking. Look at what’s replacing the coal plants. No, not “renewables” but natural gas. Nat Gas is at an all-time low right now, but over the next few years demand will skyrocket as the “supplemental” gas fired plants find they’re in use far more often than anticipated. Add to that a lack of pipelines from the new gas fields to the demand centers and no wonder it’s so cheap.

But the industry is reporting that shale fracking wells don’t seem to produce as long as anticipated, in some cases production falling below 50% after 2 years. Look for gas prices to jump up over the next few years.

Meanwhile, the government is doing everything it can to shut down nuclear power. Interesting that neither Obama or Romney have said anything about energy other than “bomb Iran.” We have the answer to global warming (and a lot of other agenda21 issues too) in nuclear technology, but the smear campaigns from all sides means we’ll be huddling in the dark and our children will have it worse off than we did.
