DOJ Memo: Outlaw and Confiscate All Guns

The Obama administration “believes that a gun ban will not work without mandatory gun confiscation.”

The National Rifle Association has obtained a Department of Justice memo calling for national gun registration and confiscation. The nine page “cursory summary” on current gun control initiatives was not officially released by the Obama administration.

The DOJ memo states the administration “believes that a gun ban will not work without mandatory gun confiscation” and thinks universal background checks “won’t work without requiring national gun registration.” Obama has yet to publicly support national registration or firearms confiscation, although the memo reveals his administration is moving in that direction.

The memo stands in stark contrast to the administration’s public stance on so-called gun control. White House spokesman Jay Carney said last month that laws proposed by Obama would not “take away a gun from a single law-abiding American.”

The NRA declined to explain how it obtained the document. The memo was written by the acting director of the Justice Department’s National Institute of Justice, Greg Ridgeway. It is dated January 4, two weeks before Obama mounted his attack on the Second Amendment following the Sandy Hook massacre. Ridgeway came to the Justice Department from the RAND corporation.

A Justice Department official said the memo is an unfinished review of gun violence research and does not represent administration policy.

  1. I don’t understand why the “Christian-Libertarians” haven’t ended this whole thing already.

I mean they’re Christians right? They believe in eternal life after they die, especially if they die doing something honorable for their fellow man like defending liberty and rights.

Why are the Christian-Libertarians not on Washington’s front door step with their guns (which they say they have a “God-given” right to carry) demanding the removal of every member of congress who ever voted for even one piece of legislation that violated our rights?

So what if they call out the police and the military to protect the legislators. The Christians should in fact hope they call out the force and they die so they can go to heaven right? The Christians should be on the front lines, armed and ready to fight.

Unless of course they doubt their faith…

    • Don’t forget that the PTB through the UN “World Council of Churches” has infiltrated them very heavily since the 60’s.

Ministers are literally paid to mislead their “flock”–such an appropriate word.

The great Romans 13 argument has fallen completely to statism in the mainstream churches…repeating the mantra “the government is of God”, “render unto Caesar” ad nauseam.

There are a few libertarian biblical stand-outs, and they’re gaining traction fast–like Chuck Baldwin in Montana (formerly Florida) who was the Constitutional Party candidate in 2008…and endorsed by Ron Paul!

People are starting to sicken of the mealy-mouthed, watered-down churches. I still have many hard-core Christian friends who are classical liberals; not pure AnCaps, but pro-liberty, pro-Constitution.

And they know they’re getting jacked in church, and they’re looking for alternatives.

    • Early Christians actually did embrace the teachings of Jesus. That began to change in the 4th century. In 313 AD, Constantine made Christianity the official religion of the Roman Empire. The pacific ideals of Christianity did not fit well with waging war, so in 368 AD, St. Ambrose laid the foundations of the ‘Just War Theory,’ eviscerating the fundamental concepts of Christianity. Fortunately for the war-lovers, the Christian bible includes the old testament – in many ways a handbook of vengeance, violence and intolerance – the mirror image of the new testament. By focusing on the old testament, modern “Christians” are apparently able to justify almost anything.

        • Don:

I do not endorse fighting, but if it must happen, it would be nice if the “Christian” sheep could at least identify the real enemy. So far they’ve gotten it wrong pretty much every time in my lifetime at least. They fight whoever they’re told to fight, and they never figure out that the ones talking them in to who to fight are the real enemies.

Israel has a list of countries it wants neutralized – the list included 7 of them as I recall. So far they have managed to get “Christians” to spend the money and do the dying. There are still a couple of countries to go. (Posing no threat whatsoever to the west.) I’m afraid the sheep will fall for it again.

      • “just war” I like that one. That’s like “rules of engagement” or “War crimes”. How the fuck can anyone, ever be accused of war crimes? Isn’t war (murdering people) a crime?

So lemme get this straight: some dude is trying to kill me BUT I have to follows some rules when defending myself?

Rules of war crack me up. Like it’s a game and what are the penalties in this game of murder if you don’t kill according to the rules? Death? War crimes tribunal? Man it’s all just a sick, perverted institution.

    • Oh, they can enforce it very effectively. I sometimes find myself too caught up amongst like-minded people to think realistically but when I talk to people at work (most are total sheep) they are all for “common sense gun legislation” such as requiring universal backround checks. These sheep, after the implementation of such legislation inevitably does nothing to stop or deter crime, will beg the government for help while ratting “us” out because “if we only would have gone along with the program like them, the world wouldn’t be such a bad place”. The numbers of people willing to stand up and say “NO” are very low compared to the amount of sheep who hide behind “us” while at the same time are willing to sell “us” out because, after all, they’re “smarter” than “us” because they know how to have their cake and eat it too. I’m totally done trying to “wake people up”, I am convinced that if we’re at this point and you’re not paying attention, you deserve to have the rug pulled out from under you. I’m not proud of this, I wish it were different, and if someone can please convince me otherwise I would appreciate it.

      • Hi Jacob,

I’m not giving up – and here’s why:

        We are making progress!

The Titanic does not turn on a dime. It took generations to transform the country into a Clover patch – because it took generations to transform the average American into a Clover. It will not be changed back overnight. That the liberty movement has made the progress it has in such a short time – less than 20 years, really – is nothing short of incredible. And the progress it has made during the past 10 is nothing less than phenomenal. Many of our views were aired in the last presidential debate. Yes, they (and RP) were mocked and dismissed. But they were aired. Because they could not be be ignored. Consider the import of that. And, reflect that our ideas – and our people – were ignored and dismissed previously. Look at alternative media such as Alex Jones and even this site. The Clover media s dying. It is almost dead. The con has been exposed. Each day that passes – each new outrage exposed – plants more seeds of doubt in the minds of more and more people.

I understand your frustration because I share it. But, don’t give up – because that is exactly what they hope we’ll do. Either that we’ll just go away – or do something stupid.

        Let’s not do either!

        • “That the liberty movement has made the progress it has in such a short time – less than 20 years, really – is nothing short of incredible”

I think that’s a stretch. People protested illegal, unconstitutional wars in the sixties and seventies to no avail. Dr. Paul, and others, were preaching liberty and limited gov’t in the seventies and eighties to no avail. The militia movement grew by leaps and bounds in the ninties to no avail. All the while – including over the last 10 years – the gov’t has grown leaps and bounds. Even today gov’t at all levels doesn’t hesitate to do whatever it wants, when it wants, how it wants, to whom it wants with extreme pejudice.

Association is not causation. I think the economy has done far more to wake people up than the liberty movement and you know that regardless how many people “wake up”, nothing will change until people get literally hungry enough and have no material stuff left to lose. That’s how it always happens. That’s how Communism fell: the people were starving in the streets and had nowhere else to go, so they fought.

If the liberty movement really were responsible for change then it woudn’t take so long. People wouldn’t have to wait generations. They would know that everyone has every right to live free today, not in 10 or 20 years.

Living as a free person – like living a healthy lifestyle – is a personal choice and all it would take for this to be a free country is for everyone to choose to live as a free person.

But judging by how many people choose to be fat, dumb and sloppy in this country, I’m not holding my breath.

          • Dear Don,

I don’t see the two — libertarian ideas and economic consequences as mutually exclusive.

When Eric argues that libertarian ideas are making inroads, that does not conflict with the fact that negative economic consequences are simultaneously awakening at least some of sheeple the hard way. The two go hand in hand.

I agree with you about people only learning the hard way. I’ve said as much myself, again and again. But what matters is that they can learn and eventually do learn.

They learned that Marxian Cloverism was bullshit in the 1980s. Now they need to learn that Democratic Cloverism is bullshit too.

        • Cheers to you and all of the like minded people on this website. Keep on with the keepin’ on, I’m sure I’m not the only one out there who needs to be inspired.

          • “I’m not the only one out there who needs to be inspired.”

            That is the key!

Ideas have consequences. Words have power.

It is arguable that Paine’s Common Sense was critical to the success of the revolution, because it inspired people.

That’s the goal. Not just mine. I’m only one of many.

            We each do our part.

And, hopefully, in the end it will have been enough!

      • @Jacob–no, no, No, NO, NO!

Please don’t give up now, at this critical junction!

It takes such a small percentage, such a tiny minority–just one out of ten–who hold fast unshakably to a conviction to make it the majority in a very short time.

We are so close; the globalists, control freaks, PTB, “Elites” are shrieking in frustration. Their plan is ten years behind, and they’re losing political ground every day. Their minions–the Piers Morgans of the world–have been battered so badly their audiences are smaller than a mid-level daytime AM radio talk show in a major city!

Nobody believes them anymore. Well, nobody who counts. The really brain-dead sheeple will continue believing them forever; there’s nothing you can do for them.

But I believe we’re already at ten percent; the next year or two you’ll see big changes.

Look at New York. They PASSED the ban–and, nothing. They can’t enforce it. People aren’t turning the weapons in. They’re stalemated–and that’s in New York.

You can’t imagine what would happen in Texas; or, I bet, about fifteen other states.

Don’t give up now, it’s the last mile of the marathon.

        • Dear meth,

          I agree.

Sure. I know. We’ve been told before that “This is it! This is the moment of truth!” only to find out that the predictions were right in substance, but premature in timing.

For example, I acted on the basis of Harry Browne’s dire predictions back in the 70s, way too early.

But that was then, this is now. This time the coming collapse really is coming, because the dollar has been devalued much further than it was back then.

Ditto the political currents. Many more people are utterly disillusioned now than back than 30 years ago.

Just compare the meager support for Ron Paul back then with the astonishing support for him from all sorts of unexpected demographics in 2012, including normally welfare statist oriented minorities.

If anything can serve as a benchmark, that has to be it.

          • Yes–especially true with Ron Paul.

My parents were in the same boat in the late 70’s early 80’s, reading voraciously. Remember Gary North’s “Remnant Review”? And that wild newsletter, I think it had the word “Duckie” in its title?

The “Duckie” newsletter was from some guy in Florida who owned an airport runway cleaning business. Had some good stuff in it.

Gary Allen’s “None Dare Call It Conspiracy” was huge then–and it’s STILL spot-on accurate…since it’s mostly come true.

Here’s the key: we still had vast excess reserves of wealth in the 70’s. They’ve drained it now, and people can look in the pantry and see we’ve emptied out our industry, our savings, and our souls.

      • “I’m totally done trying to “wake people up”, ”

Yeah, so am I. When surrounded by sheep, learn to mimic their “baaaaa” or at least don’t howl where they can hear it.

          • Agreed – very few can be awakened. Almost all will continue to sleepwalk. However the direction of the sleepwalking herd can be rather easily changed. Consider the year 1941. In November, most Americans were opposed to entering WWII. One month later, there was overwhelming support. Very few sheep realized that they’d been manipulated; very few realized that Japan had been manipulated too. Americans were manipulated by the press in those days. Our big advantage now is the ability to exchange ideas with a free Internet (while it lasts).

          • Well, of course, your mileage may vary. I’m 60. I’ve had a longer time to get tired of talking to people who can’t be bothered to listen.

When I’m around sheep, I try not to get them aroused. They always do the wrong things when aroused. That’s why we liken them to sheep.

  2. “…does not represent administration policy.”… So they say as of the time it was created. Since then and up to now these lying fuckers will do whatever the hell they want. Stock up people. I sure as hell am.

    • I’m learning…re-learning, really…to trust my intuition like I did when I was a little kid.

I felt something four months ago and went on a fairly expensive buying spree, following Ferfal’s rule “three is two, two is one, one is none”. Doubled up on every tactically important weapon with 1K rounds for each. Glad I listened to that inner voice; it would have cost twice as much today.

And Eric–yes. At this point, you have to be diligently obtuse not to see their intention.

I had the pleasure of attending one of the “Day of Resistance” events last weekend, sponsored by a local Tea Party. They’re not perfect libertarians; but I’d gladly have any of them at my side against the Statists.

I’m telling you guys–at least here in Texas, they will be very, very sorry if they carry through their intentions. I saw “that look” in plenty of peoples’ eyes.

The globalists have badly miscalculated this move. They believe, because they’re isolated in their Hunger Games-esque Elite enclaves, that we’re all weak, hypnotized, brainwashed jellyfish…like their immediate minions.

We’re not. They haven’t eradicated the core of resolve, the human survival instinct.

      The Sleeper has awakened.

      • “I had the pleasure of attending one of the “Day of Resistance” events last weekend, sponsored by a local Tea Party. They’re not perfect libertarians; but I’d gladly have any of them at my side against the Statists.”

Maybe they’re different where you are. Here in Virginia, the teaparty guys ARE the statists.

        • “Here in Virginia, the teaparty guys ARE the statists”

          I agree, Ed.

When I stated that I object to being taxed annually and indefinitely in order to “help” pay for the education (indoctrination/socialization) of other other people’s children – that I have a right to own my land free and clear, once I pay it off and not be endlessly beholden to illegitimate obligations imposed on me by people I don’t even know – I drew immediate hostile fire. These assholes – and I do not use the term lightly – are worse than the statist leftists, who at least make no bones about their support for collectivism and authoritarianism.

I cannot stand flag-waving, hearts over-their-hands “conservatives” who are just as eager to enslave me as leftists – but pretend to be liberty-minded.

They’re not deluded, either. Because (per above) their hypocrisy has been made plain to them. Yet they continue to prattle on, waving their god-damned flags and singing their god-damned songs about “freedom.”

          It literally makes me sick.

        • Ah, let’s be clear guys–I’m not pretending the Tea Party people are fully awake libertarians.

They’re still oblivious to the nature of their enslavement, mostly.

But “the look” is there, because they understand they’re under attack economically–and the government’s coming for their guns.

But we can work with that. After all, how many of us have been pure hard-core AnCaps/agorists/anarchist all our lives…or did we come to it in steps?

There was a yearning there for freedom. They know what it is deep inside; but they’ve been mentally crippled by decades of powerful mind-control techniques.

That’s why we’re here waking them up.

So yeah; I hate the flag-waving, teary-eyed renditions of hymns to the State. But to THEM, they’re singing to what they think represents freedom. Their hearts are in the right place.

          • And team D is all about self ownership when it comes to reproduction mechanisms of the human female, but the labor of the human male, not a chance.

I’ve tried to wedge many a team D and many a team R by using what ever little area they demanded liberty in. I’ve tried to show the logic and how it applies to all/other areas. I’ve also pointed out that they need to stop complaining about government taking their liberty in their favored areas because they believe in the power of the state to do exactly that. It just doesn’t seem to get through in any lasting way. Sometimes it works for a moment, then dissolves.

They think that if just the right people ran things it would all work. They cannot comprehend that those people do not exist.

  3. This of course is no surprise.

Gun owners saw through their rhetoric decades ago, and said to openly.

But it’s noteworthy that they have finally made it “official.”

  4. The parallels between the rise of the Third Reich and what is happening in the U.S. today are frightening, going all the way back to the Ten Commandments being removed from the courthouse in Birmingham, Alabama. (They were also removed from the Chancelor Building by the Nazis.) Registration is the first step toward confiscation, which is a primary step toward total domination of a people, as was demonstrated by the Nazi Party in Germany. Registration can do nothing to curb gun violence, as those inclined toward violence will find a gun some way if they wish, and if not a gun, then a sword or knife or club or other weapon. Are we going to have register our steak knives, too? Or pehaps we won’t need them if they outlaw steak altogether, since red meat is supposedly bad for your health, and the gov’t apparently wants to control all aspects of our lives and turn us into good little worker/consumer drones.

All hail to the Orwellian state!
Coming soon, just a little late!

    L.K. Meanoss
