Author Quotes Then-Professor Obama Saying, “I Don’t Believe People Should Be Able To Own Guns”
By Gregory Gwyn-Williams, Jr.

In his new book, At the Brink, economist and author John Lott Jr., assesses the presidency of Barack Obama and recalls conversations regarding gun laws they had while working at the University of Chicago.

In Chapter Three, Mr. Lott discusses gun-control and takes the reader back to his time at the University of Chicago, where he and then-professor Barack Obama spoke on numerous occasions about guns in America.

“I don’t believe people should be able to own guns,” Obama told Lott one day at the University of Chicago Law School.

Lott explains that he first met Obama shortly after completing his research on concealed handgun laws and crime.

“He did not come across as a moderate who wanted to bring people together,” Lott writes.

After he introduced himself to Obama, Lott suggested that they have lunch one day to discuss their views on guns. According to Lott, Obama “grimaced and turned away.” That was the way many conversations with Obama ended, Lott says.

Although the Law School was famous for the openness of its faculty and friendly engagement, Lott says, “Obama…preferred silent, scowling disdain to collegiality.”

President Barack Obama describes his views on guns much differently now that he is on the national stage, Lott believes, pointing to an interview on Fox News in which Obama states, “I have said consistently that I believe that the Second Amendment is an individual right.”

But, Lott isn’t convinced:

“Despite his assurance to Fox News that he understands the Second Amendment, it’s a good bet that the positions Obama took on guns during his time at Chicago reveal his true convictions.”

The chapter documents the actions that Obama has taken on guns, citing the following:

In 1996, Obama supported a ban on handguns
In 1998, he supported a ban on the sale of all semi-automatic guns
In 2004, he advocated banning gun sales within five miles of a school or park, which would have shut down nearly all gun stores

Mr. Lott concludes the chapter, titled, “Bewitched, Bothered, and Bewildered,” writing, “Barack Obama is the most anti-gun president ever. That claim is based not on my own interactions with him back in the 1990’s but on his own public record over many years.”

He ends with a warning:

“The greatest threat is in his [Obama’s] power to reshape the federal courts…Each appointment to the Supreme Court could determine whether the people are allowed to keep their guns.”

  1. I don’t think Barry Soetoro, Barack Hussein Obama or whatever his real name is, lied when he told Faux News “I have said consistently that I believe that the Second Amendment is an individual right.” I think he is quite convinced that self defense and, by extension, possessing the means to do so, is an individual right. Therefore he can truthfully make the preceding statement with a straight face.

Barry O is clearly in favor of having the American public voluntarily and actively assist in abridging, infringing and abolishing the Second Amendment. Remove the legal protection of that right, you thereby render it null and void but all the while paying lip service to it. Deep down, in the spirit of Lincoln, Barry’s a lawyer. Therefore he’s been trained to weasel word his responses and use the literal truth. Oh, he well knows it’s an individual right; he just wants to use incidents like the Aurora theater and Sandy Hook shootings to push the Amerikan public into begging him to violate the right “for the children” and for their security. Then he and the other parasitic pyshopathic narcissists of his tyrannical ilk can claim they were doing the people’s will.

The fact that we are resisting on a much grander scale than they anticipated doesn’t change their bent. They will poke and prod every weak point they see in our lines and will undoubtedly concoct more false flag operations to frighten the sheeple until they are either (a) successful in swaying public opinion, or (b) incite a popular uprising. The latter would be bad for everyone involved, but may be inevitable.

So I’m with Methylamine on his point to call and or write to the congressional and senatorial parasites who preside over your section of the plantation. Let them know in no uncertain terms that enough is enough; that we have more than enough laws already and no further infringements will be tolerated. We have no assurance this will work, but we hold the moral high ground when we can say with confidence that we at least tried to use reason and peaceful persuasion before…well…you know…

    • Boothe, you said:
“The latter [incite a popular uprising] would be bad for everyone involved, but may be inevitable. ”

Did it occur to you that the INTENT is to incite an uprising, for the very same reasons you listed previously?
It helps to make the sheep clamor for more gun control, and it helps to make the Military Takeover (de facto if not de jure) “acceptable” to the sheep. The sheep LOVE the shepherd when the wolf comes around, and even appreciate shearing time. What they dislike and never remember is, the shepherd eats LOTS of Mutton. But it’s only ONE sheep per week, so in a flock of 500, the odds are good it won’t be YOU…

Sheep are willing to trade their freedom for security. Most women are de facto sheep. They are also willing to trade YOUR freedom for their pretend safety.

Now, logically, we could argue: If we don’t need the GUNS any more (Second Amendment doesn’t apply to modern weapons, or whatever, etc.) – then a woman’s need for HERD SOLIDARITY and SAFETY should ALSO be relegated to the wastebin of history.
But one is biological, while the other is just written by evil Dead White Males who were Evil Revolutionary Terrorist Nigger/Carpetbagger Capitalists, who were out to oppress teh womynz and teh gayz.

Guess which one will ALWAYS win (and includes plausible deniability, even in her own psyche), and which one only comes about following great upheavels and long-term historical trends.

(Yes, I’m misogynistic. Whole other rant. Doesn’t change who I am, but until they LOSE their power, at about 25-30, they never comprehend what nature gave them, and they think they can ride the cock-carousel with the Alphas until they really hit the wall, and want their SAFETY in the form of a Beta Provider who will care for their bastard offspring. And they’re willing to use Big Daddy Government to ensure Beta Boy is kept in line. Sub-Human c*nts, period. The good ones are the exception that proves the rule, and EVEN THEN, they are subject to being ruled by their emotions and genitals, at a rate FAR GREATER than men. )

      • Jean – Yes it did occur to me that inciting insurrection and disorder is fully the intent of the PTB. They just want to make sure it’s on their terms from a contain-ability and control-ability standpoint. Nothing quite like some dead and injured main street types on the six o’clock news to get the sheeple clamoring for more gun control, more surveillance, more cops and less Freedom. They’ve taken a cue from Che’s playbook: acts of terror beget public outcry for the gun-vernment “to do something.” Crackdowns, curfews, surveillance, etc. overwhelmingly affect the innocent. The “terrorists” continue to ply their trade, which leads to more more public outcry for crackdowns. Finally the public becomes so fed up that they revolt, opening the door for the leaders of the “terrorists” to fill the holes in the existing system left by the dead leaders in the wake of the pogroms. But in this case the means (terrorism/crackdown cycle) ends at the the stage where the existing PTB gain the most control without the final collapse and restructuring (or so they think). Never mind that all these (foiled) terrorist plots since 911 have the earmarks of government ops. Never mind, because Homo Ovinum Americanus, whether ewe or ram, will generally never believe “their government” would do such nefarious things.

I’m not real sure you’re misogynistic, probably more just cynical based on what you’ve seen in life with (most of) the women you’ve been around. Regardless of the modern depiction of ass-kicin’ super hero gurls with attitude in the movies, women still come equipped with nurturing / mothering instincts. This allows emotion to often lead reason, so high profile mass shootings and ugly assault weapons evoke a predictable emotional response from them. With the feminizing of most men now largely accomplished, you see almost as much emotionalizing from many of them too. This is what the human herders want and it’s working. And now your archetypal “beta male” is actually the state in the form of EBT cards, WIC, rent assistance, etc. So these breeders can continue to pursue dead end relationships with the pseudo-alpha male losers they seem to prefer and get a check from the state at the same time. They don’t have to go looking for a stable “beta” male anymore and the pols don’t have to go shopping for their votes. I am convinced that this is all by design. But history bears out that the elite are often deceived and deluded in their arrogance, this type of system is doomed and the whole mess blows up in their faces. We can only hope that this turns out to be a short and mild secular winter this cycle.

  2. One day people may realize that Obama is the emptiest suit of all suits that ever held the office president. The trouble, however, is no one will care. Politics is all about gaming the system and so long as it’s your team that games the best, then so be it.

    To hell with politics.

    • As bad as Barry is, we must never forget that the only reason he’s president is because of &*$@@!!! Republicans – The Chimp, in particular. And the only reason he can get away with what he has gotten away with is because The Chimp – and Republicans – set the precedents and normalized outrages that would have been inconceivable, pre-Chimp.

      • eric, that egg won’t wipe off millions of faces. Remember Anybody But Bush? BO played hell out of that card, a damned good one too since the Chimp has done more to remove rights and steal all our money than nearly everyone who came before him, combined. Although I didn’t vote for BO, first or second time, I can’t honestly blame anyone who believes in the two party system for voting for him. Of course they COULD have not voted for either one as I did. Well, I didn’t want anyone to think I’d ever vote for either cabal. My conscience and my bank account are both “clear”.

      • Eric,
        I respectfully disagree.
The Rethuglicans are the reason they lost the election, yes.
However: The FSA (Free Shit Army, for those who don’t know), gerrymandering of districts, and voter fraud all come together to make it increasingly difficult to actually VOTE in a meaningful way.

        But:
        – Gerry-mandering comes from Elbridge Gerry, governor of asshole-chusettes, who arranged to redraw voting districts to benefit the Democraps of the time.
Voter fraud: No one investigates or challenges, because BOTH SIDES are doing it.
Campaign finance: Federal dollars go to elections – IF you have received enough votes in the past. With the gerrymandering already done, and education (next point) what it is – Third Parties are a virtual impossibility. (Revolution is more likely, due to voter fraud and disenfranchisement.)
Education: Female-minded educators (safety first!) plus mis-education and government indoctrination means that anyone campaigning on anything related to family values or traditional values or even making the world a better place will NOT be considered seriously.
Mass Media: Magnifies all of the above, and creates the narrative of evil nigger/carpetbagger Capitalists vs. Utopian Peace-loving Democrats, who will give everyone what they want and need and deserve. Note that the Democrats are actually Socialist and Marxist on the one hand, and the other candidates are ALL Evil Nigger/Carpetbaggers who like to rape babies and kill seniors, excpept when the reverse who they’re raping and killing. And they’re all rich because of the tax loopholes and exploitation of the proletariat.

True “Republicans” can’t even get in the front door (hence the TEA party). But as soon as anyone gets some notice, one of the Big Two will co-opt them and absorb them, leaving the “silent majority” no voice, again.

The above problems have also created our society – no conservative can get elected; it’s a “popularity contest” for who can bring the most federal dollars to the home constituents. That means, socialists-only, and ever-increasing government.
Only solution is armed insurrection when things get too bad – and most people WILLFULLY turn a blind eye to how bad things are, so the vast majority end up “holding their noses and voting for the least-odious candidate.”

Instead of shooting them all, and demanding a new UN-FIXED election.

“So, you get what we had here last week. Which is the way he wants it. Well – HE GETS IT! And I don’t like it… Any More… Than you men.” Remember the comparative position (POWER) of the man who said that line.

It’s what “they” want for ALL of us.

Reminds me of the time I wore my t-shirt with the words:
“Anarcho-Capitalism: No wars, no taxes, no politicians.”
I asked a waitress what she thought about it.
After she read it she said, “I’m not into politics.”

I’m not sure if her broken light bulb was worse than the guy who said he really liked the t-shirt but then got upset when he realized it meant the end of what he considered “a strong national defense”, …or not?
Simple idiots to the left of me, and warmongering idiots to the right of me.

Two other guys enthusiastically said they liked the t-shirt and would check out LewRockwell.com
I wonder what they thought about it. Hopefully I helped to create two new mini-mikehells?

  3. Guys, may I politely urge you to CALL YOUR SENATORS, please.

I admit I’ve said before that I’ve given up on national politics; they are almost completely owned by the banksters.

However there are a few issues that make enough noise to break through the din cash registers ringing in their offices–and noises that sound like they’re going to lose their “jobs” get attention.

The votes are coming up soon.

Absolutely no compromise–not ONE extra law!

They’re overshooting with the hope of getting another “reasonable” restriction.

But they’ve miscalculated; they had no idea how powerful the resistance would be. This is a chance for us to push back, HARD, and win a battle peacefully.

Don’t be polite. Don’t say “please” and “thank you”–when I have a fuck-up employee, I get pretty curt when I’m notifying him he’s on probation for his job.

    But do call.

    • I suggest we promote all senators and congresscritters… To the next plane of existence.
Kill ’em all, God knows his own.
And He knows they aren’t in government….

  4. Well, now you know what they (the president and press corps) talk about when flying around on Air Force One. King Barry doesn’t like guns, so make sure every gun incident is forced into the echo chamber until the sheeple demand SOMETHING BE DONE FOR The Children™. And since most modern journalists value access over information, they’re happy to do whatever they need to in order to keep their seat on the plane.

      • “I don’t believe people should be able to own guns.”

        People?

He of course means “mere mundanes,” not “government officials.”

        What’s the difference?

The former are the ruled. The latter are the rulers.

Scratch an “egalitarian champion of liberal democracy” and you will find a reactionary advocate of elitist oligarchy.

        • Hi Bevin,

He of course means “mere mundanes,” not “government officials.”

Precisely. Notice the unconsciousness of his phraseology. “People” is synonymous in the mind of this creep with us – the lowing masses (as he regards us).

“People” never means people vested with state power.

          • Dear Eric,

            Exactly right.

“People,” to the political class, means us — the cattle to be milked and the sheep to be sheared on their tax farms, aka “advanced democracies.”

In the minds of the political class, there is no meaningful difference between citizens of “advanced democracies” and Medieval or Tibetan serfs.

With Obama’s NDAA and Schumer’s Ex-Patriot Act, all Americans are no different than black African slaves under the Fugitive Slave Act.
