Another one?

RENO, Nev. (AP) — A body believed to be that of Nevada’s missing chief insurance examiner was found wrapped in a blanket and bound with duct tape Saturday in a river in Carson City, and four suspects were arrested in the case, authorities said.

Carson City Sheriff Ken Furlong said that while a positive identification and cause of death have not been officially established, investigators believe the body found by searchers in the Carson River is that of William McCune, who disappeared earlier this week.

Authorities suspected foul play after finding evidence Thursday of a bloody, violent struggle in McCune’s apartment in Carson City. Deputies were called to the apartment after the 62-year-old McCune failed to board a flight with a co-worker and other employees found no sign of him when they went to his residence.

      • Reminds me of that one rich dude who was found suddenly dead out on the street in Turkey where the “officials” declared it a suicide.

        • When the Clintons were president, there was a common type of suicide called “Arkancide”. An example would be a Clinton critic who killed himself with two gunshots to the back of the head. There were so many Arkancides that the term entered the lexicon of the ’90s.

          • Reminds me of “The Godfather.”

            Again.

Michael Corleone: My father is no different than any powerful man, any man with power, like a president or senator.

Kay Adams: Do you know how naive you sound, Michael? Presidents and senators don’t have men killed.

Michael Corleone: Oh. Who’s being naive, Kay?

    • The question is are they being killed by:
      1) Independent private sector criminals with whom they are in competition.
      2) Fellow travelers of the political means. People they’ve done dealings with, perhaps crossed, etc and so on.
      3) Their victims. Those fleeced by the political means.

My guess? 1) and/or 2). 3) is still quite rare in the USA.

      • “1) Independent private sector criminals with whom they are in competition.”

Hmmmm, maybe it’s 4) Private sector criminals with whom they were in business until they crossed their wiseguy partners.
