Burroughs-VestalJust when you thought it couldn’t be tougher to be a single mom, trying to be both mother and father to her children and struggling to make ends meet, along came Obamacare.

One mom decided to vent her frustration by posting a letter to the President on her Facebook page. Yolanda Burroughs-Vestal of Palmer, Texas never expected her rant to go viral, but it has had tens of thousands of views and is still going strong.

Her “Thanks a lot, Mr. President” letter speaks to the day to day experiences that many parents – and not just single parents – have while working too many hours and making too little money. Suddenly former money problems seem minuscule in the face of the huge increase in expenses that Obamacare will bring, without any of the promised relief. (Most people are finding that once they make their monthly payments and cover their deductibles, they will have spent over $5000 before Obamacare ever covers a dime – and if the family is already struggling financially, who has room for that in the budget?)

Dear President Obama,

I wanted to take a moment to say thank you for all you have done and are doing. You see I am a single Mom located in the very small town of Palmer, Texas. I live in a small rental house with my two children. I drive an older car that I pray daily runs just a little longer. I work at a mediocre job bringing home a much lower paycheck than you or your wife could even imagine living on. I have a lot of concerns about the new “Obamacare” along with the taxes being forced on us Americans and debts you are adding to our country. I have a few questions for you Mr. President.

Have you ever struggled to pay your bills? I have.

Have you ever sat and watched your children eat and you eat what was left on their plates when they were done, because there wasn’t enough for you to eat to? I have.

Have you ever had to rob Peter to pay Paul, and it still not be enough? I have.

Have you ever been so sick that you needed to see a doctor and get medicine, but had no health insurance because it was too expensive? I have.

Have you ever had to tell your children no, when they asked for something they needed? I have.

Have you ever patched holes in pants, glued shoes, replaced zippers, because it was cheaper than buying new? I have.

Have you ever had to put an item or two back at the grocery store, because you didn’t have enough money? I have.

Have you ever cried yourself to sleep, because you had no clue how you were going to make ends meet? I have.

My questions could go on and on. I don’t believe you have a clue what Americans are actually going through and honestly, I don’t believe you care. Not everyone lives extravagantly. While your family takes expensive trips that cost more than most of us make in two-four years, there are so many of us that suffer. Yet, you are doing all you can to add to the suffering. I think you are a very selfish and cold hearted man, who does not care what is best for the people he was elected by (not by me) to represent, but more so out for the glory of your name attached to history. So thank you Mr. President, thank you for pushing those of us that are barely staying afloat completely under water and driving America into the ground. You have made your mark in history, as the absolute worst and most hated president of the United States. God have mercy on your soul!

Sincerely,

Yolanda Vestal

Average American

Vestal said she was worrying about paying the bills when she penned the letter. “It was on my mind I had to pay bills,” Vestal said. “All I could think was, how am I going to make it to the end of the month?” BizPac Review describes her situation:

A divorced mother of two teenage daughters, Vestal also has a son who lives with his father. While she and her ex-husband work together to do what’s best for their children, Vestal said, the economy has changed, putting a financial strain on both households. She makes too much money to receive assistance, she said, but barely enough to get by.

Vestal has received offers of help, but she said she’s not looking for handouts or charity, and that’s not the reason she wrote the letter.

“I’m not worthy,” she said. “I’m one of millions.”

She merely wanted to express her opinion that legislation pushed by the administration in the last few years is hurting people.

“Right is right, wrong is wrong,” she said. “What they’re doing is wrong.”

Vestal said she’s received a few negative comments, and some critics have made assumptions about her and her children. But she said she replies with, “God bless you,” and moves on to the next message.

The president was in Dallas Wednesday night for two campaign fundraisers – including a private dinner that commanded as much as $32,000 per plate, according to the Dallas News.

“One plate for dinner is equal to a year’s salary for some of us,” Vestal said.

Why donate to this site? What benefit does it confer? I believe it serves as a gateway to an emerging new paradigm of coexistence and to understanding the current situation of “Us vs. Them.”

Any who wish to live by a peaceful means is an Us. Any who demand to be supported by a predatory violent state is a Them. It is these Others who we must win over, or else make war with and defeat and expunge from the face of the Earth.

Them is any who believe it’s rational to forced to pull over on a highway and be interrogated by a sing-songy psychopath who demands to know if we have any fruit or firewood. To force us to display bits of plastic to the neanderthal minions with guns and cages.

Them is a grinning lying stuttering American ape who nationalized 3 Trillion of the world’s 60 trillion economy just like Castro of Cuba or Chavez of Venezuela would and replaced it with worthless surplus cheese helfcare.

The “Us vs. Them” phenomenon has divided humanity for centuries – creating divisions between races, cultures, political factions, countries and numerous other binary groups.

The question is how does theory of mind work in the psychological process of othering.

Theory of mind has so far been considered in two ways:

    1. As an imperative social skill which enables the brain to understand the thoughts, feelings, desires and intentions of others, or otherwise see from the perspective of others
    2. As the means through which empathy works.

What happens to these two features of ToM when the relationship between two people, or groups of people, resembles an “us vs. them” phenomenon? Are we capable of applying ToM to others whom we consider to be foreign, an adversary or otherwise different from us?

Is there a psychological difference between how we use ToM when we interact with them? And what may be the effects of limiting this aspect of ToM? Science fiction writer Stanislaw Lem asserts in Microworlds: Writings on Science Fiction and Fantasy:

“This Us-and-Them mentality…represents a failure of the imagination.” At its core, theory of mind requires imagination – “imagining” the other’s perspective, thoughts and feelings. The “failure of the imagination,” then, is equivalent to “failure to extend theory of mind” to another.

In Ender’s Game, Card demonstrates that the process of othering distorts communication between groups, and impedes the extension of theory of mind to the perceived “other.”

There are peaceful and violent methods to engage in self-defense and assure our survival amid these Violent Xenocidal Maniacs. Each must choose individually which methods to use, and at which times. There is no enforced hierarchy here. Let us begin with understanding Dear Leader Mister President.

Our world is run – and has been run for some time now – by a relatively very small group of xenocidal individuals who have it in their power to manage, as they think, the economies of nations. To bring ruin or death to those who fail to live as they think they should.

Managing the affairs of a nation implies making people behave in ways in which they would not otherwise behave. National management of an economy thus means making millions of individuals do what they wouldn’t do if left to themselves.

There is not one single national economy in the world today whose people are free to do as they wish; it is not so much that people are forbidden to do what they think best, as that their choices are being narrowed, day by day, to being able to do only what is allowed.

One of the very first choices which free individuals made thousands of years ago was the choice of the money they would use in their exchanges of goods and services; after using other substances such as salt, or copper, or sea-shells, they finally chose gold and silver for use as money, because all humanity valued these metals above all other substances, and consequently gold and silver were the most convenient substances to use as money.

The fact that today we are deprived of the possibility of using these metals as money indicates that we are worse off than our ancestors who lived several thousand years ago. We are forced to use fictitious money provided by our managers and masters. One important consequence of using fiat money is that it inevitably leads to making bad investment decisions.

It is clear that if we are not allowed to do what we think best, anything else we do must be second, or third, or fourth best for our interest, and anyone who takes second best for what is in his interest, is incurring a loss.

Our economic world has been so weakened and distorted by accumulated losses and false investments that it is now beyond repair.

Billions of human beings are living in today’s world, except for those living in the jungles or the deserts, yet not one of us can act freely to further his interest. We are all of us incurring losses, whether we are conscious of this fact or not.

Add up all these losses and mistaken investments and you have the present world, avoiding bankruptcy and total collapse by skating over thin ice.

The idea that national economies can and should be managed prevails throughout the world. Thus, the world is being “managed” into instability; at some point an accident will happen, and we shall fall through the thin ice into the deathly cold water.

We are witnessing the failure of efforts to restore “growth” to the economies of the West; China’s economy appears to be headed for serious trouble in the near future; the Japanese leadership is resorting to desperate measures to revive the economy of Japan.

The US is in the grip of an outlandish policy to monetize $85 billion dollars a month out of nothing, and it is likely that the monetization will soon increase in volume.

In 1956 the Soviet premier Nikita Khrushchev uttered his famous prophecy, “We will bury you!” at a reunion with Western diplomats.
His prophecy is coming true, for there is precious little difference between a world of managed economies, and a Socialist world.

All Socialist economies are managed economies, and all managed economies are on the way to becoming full-fledged Socialist economies. The difference is that a “managed economy” sounds acceptable, or even quite normal, to a large number of people, whereas the word “Socialism” is repellent to many people. The words have changed, but not the substance.

In the 1920’s, Antonio Gramsci, an Italian intellectual, wrote about how political institutions are supported by a hegemony made up of people who hold the same views and values. Since “the managed economy” enjoys the support of a hegemony throughout the world today, we must understand that Socialism is not some threat that vanished with the fall of the USSR; we are living in a world that is in the process of becoming Socialist. Khrushchev was right!

Gramsci’s method for introducing Socialism was not by means of violent revolution, but by creating the hegemony which would support Socialism.

The hegemony would be created by using the right words to gather popular support for Socialism. This is what we are seeing today: people are satisfied with the concept of “the managed economy” when what it really leads to is Socialism.

Thus, the hegemony for Socialism is in fact installed in the whole world. We know what happened to the Soviet Union: it collapsed in bankruptcy. The USSR, which deluded intellectuals hailed as “the moral light of the world” while they turned blind eyes to its mass starvations, its Gulags and the terror of its secret services, turned out to be unsustainable.

The difference between the Soviet Union and the world today is only one of degree, not of essence. Our world awaits the same collapse which overtook the Soviet Union.

It seems likely that a new international monetary order will be implemented, either before or after the final inevitable collapse of the present monetary system. It seems probable, as of now, that any new monetary order will have to include gold in some way.

Gold will re-acquire importance, which will be reflected in a much higher price for gold, incorporated into a new international monetary system. The extraordinary accumulation of gold by China indicates that it is preparing for this change, and this cannot be taking place without the consent of those who dominate the West: the low price of gold is deliberately facilitating the process of preparation for the coming change.

However, a return to an unadulterated Gold Standard in conjunction with the re-introduction of the system of Real Bills seems highly unlikely.

Such a change seems impossible, given that there is no hegemony, , to support such a political move: it would be politically impossible to institute such a system, because it would require discarding, at enormous human cost, all the uneconomic structures which have been imposed upon the world, as well as the elimination of the powerful group that now governs the world through those structures.

Those who rule the world are certainly not going to reform themselves out of power; it would be a mistake to think otherwise.
The official Chinese news agency, Xinhua, has called for the “de-americanization” of the world. What that implies is clear: the Chinese intend to have a say in how the world is ruled.

As I interpret reports, it seems to me that those who run China are quite unaware of the problem of misallocation of resources which arises from three causes: a) a fractional-reserve system of banking which expands fiat money credit beyond real savings; b) a fiat-issuing central bank which “fixes” interest rates and c) banking which indulges in mismatching maturities, by granting long-term credits matched against supposedly slight liabilities to depositors.

China applies these conventional modern banking practices on a massive scale, proportionate to the enormous population of China.

If China manages its economy according to the same fallacious principles that prevail in the rest of the world, what different, healthy measures could we expect from China, as a leading power addressing the profound damage suffered by the world’s economic structure during the past century?

The inclusion of gold into a new international monetary order can only mean a re-distribution of the power enjoyed by those who rule. This implies that gold will not return as money used by individuals. The world will be told that the new monetary system is “backed” by gold; individuals may buy and sell gold, but they will not have gold in their hands as money. We shall have a new monetary system which will instill renewed confidence, but which will remain fundamentally flawed.

The use of gold in the new international monetary system will be reflected in increased power over the management of individual national economies.

    The long-term outcome – World Socialism – will remain the same, as long as the hegemony responds favorably to the familiar strains of the siren-song: “Do not worry, do not strive; do not think for yourself; do not attempt to provide for yourself and your dear ones;

Do as you are told and we – the State – will take care of you.”
It may be some time before humanity ceases to listen to that song. Have no fear that you are an utterly useless Walking Dead Eloi, bravely talking smack while pushing buttons, and with no idea of how to make a single survival-necessary item you purchase at Walmart.

What could go wrong thinks Mister Tom Turkey. I have unlimited access to all these lovely ladies and I am being fed and protected like a king. What more could I want from my benefactor and savior the farmer?

  3. And yet the Republicans are more interested in funding legions overseas, and countless other corrupt practices, than killing this thing DEAD where it is. I’ve heard some lunatics on the radio say, “Well, I don’t like it but it isn’t going away so we have to deal with it”! Who ever heard of such slavish speach? Oh well… the taxes are rising, George, Franklin, Tom…. guess we just have to live with it and put our idea about freedom on the back burner while we “work within the system” to “educate” our fellow slaves. So what you end up is still being a slave, but a well informed one. Sheesh!

    • Well, my daughter managed to land a part-time gig at a chain store, after putting in at least sixty apps the past few months, and yesterday a letter arrived telling her how much she could expect to pay in insurance premiums through bi-weekly costs etc. etc. etc. blah blah blah…. In essence she was having to now “work”, and I’m roughly calculating here, no less than 7 or eight hours every two weeks to pay for the privilege of mandated health insurance. As she isn’t even working about fifteen hours a week now, not including the costs in transportation going back and forth, that means between travel costs, taxes etc., and now the beauty of insurance, she isn’t making jack shit. A big fat goose egg for nothing.

Fuck you, Obama! And fuck all the rest of you Republicans and Democrats.
