The TSA is funding the rollout of exit pods at major airport terminals across the country that temporarily detain passengers before they are allowed to leave, another example critics say of how the federal agency’s policies treat travelers as prisoners.

Travelers are forced to be bottlenecked through the pods as they leave the airport terminal. A robotic voice gives instructions to wait inside the pod until a green light is shown and the door opens.

The pods have already been installed at Syracuse International Airport as part of a $60 million dollar renovation and are likely to make their way into other major airports soon. Once travelers exit the pods, they are unable to re-enter the terminal.

Some of the passengers exiting through the pods at Syracuse thought the machines were performing x-ray body scans, according to CNY Central.

“It was odd, I was like – where did they come up with this?” asked Patricia Goodrich.

“We need to be vigilant and maintain high security protocol at all times. These portals were designed and approved by TSA which is important,” said Syracuse Airport Commissioner Christina Callahan.

  1. Incrementalism at it finest. The sheep won’t wake up until it’s too late and “they” will continue to push the envelope until then.

  2. The gated exits is annoying at best.

What if people need to evacuate quickly during an actual emergency? Will people needlessly be injured or die as during theCocoanut Grove fire?

This does not serve a legitimate purpose and is a wasteful use of resources.

  3. And people think I’m harsh for my view that these “people” have given up the right to be considered more than animals in their cognizance?

      • Watching Steve McQueen’s “12 Years a Slave and finally a recent film reflects our current reality. There are more slaves than ever. The most obvious are all the prisoners working for $0.25 an hour.

All of us are slaves to a degree. Uncle Toms eager to instruct us in how to bow, cower, show our hands, show our papers, smile and submit to plantation staff.

Modern Americans wish they were even worthy of being called N*ggers as were many of the chattel Africans depicted in this film. They lack even 1/12 of their fortitude and dignity.

Americans in the main are 12 times the cowards of any slaves shown in this movie. Especially those over 40 who lived in the days before our masters made our slavery obvious and undeniable to any whose eyes are open and awaken from their Christian Altruistic Submissive fog.

The national borders of our nation are the edges of our plantation. You can not leave without Massa’s permission papers.

What has the Pope said about that? Yeshua would laugh in your face if you tried to tell him about the good Pharisees, Tax Collectors, Soldiers, or Consuls.

I have crossed those very “exit portals many times between TX, AZ, CA and Mexico; and also between MI, MN, ND, WA and Canada.

If you are a free man and not a slave, why is it you can’t just walk unmolested between the various national jurisdictions?

        Film Quotes

-I survive. I will not fall into despair. I will offer up my talents to Master Ford. I will keep myself hardy till freedom is opportune.
=So you settle into your role as Platt then?
-My back is thick with scars for protesting my freedom.

-Days ago I was with my family, in my home. Now you’re telling me all that’s lost? Tell no one who I am, that’s the way to survive? Well, I don’t want to survive. I want to live.

=Sin? There is no sin. Man does how he pleases with his property.
=My sympathies extend the length of a coin.

        • Tor, “My back is thick with scars for protesting my freedom.” Good post BTW. We’d all be free if everybody’s back was covered with scars of protest. As for me, I’ll continue to take my lumps as the sheeple watch and wonder why I won’t conform.
