Degradation as Procedure

Have you noticed that it’s become common – if not practice – for armed government workers to force people to the ground, knee in the back – guns trained on them – as part of seemingly every arrest?

Violent men, okay. They are potentially a “threat” to the “safety” of armed government workers. But what about men not violent? Women not “resisting”? Junior high kids?

They are being “taken down” just the same.

It is apparently part of the new protocols. Armed government workers have been trained to use what amounts to Shock and Awe (remember?) techniques against any indig – whoops, citizen – who even questions their authority – let alone resists it.

Here’s an example I found after all of 6 seconds of searching on YouTube. Yes, I timed it.

The video shows the “takedown” of a motorist who, having been stopped by armed government workers – apparently was found to be motoring on a suspended license. It’s a whole ‘nother thing as to whether we – allegedly free people – ought to have to beg the government’s permission for a license to travel freely by car. The government having made it all-but-impossible to travel without a car.

In pre-car days, one did not have to have a permission slip to operate a horse – or a horse and buggy. The roads were common right-of-ways and it was taken as self-evident that free people had the natural right to travel upon them without begging permission or needing “papers” to do so. The idea that “public safety” demands that people carry around government permission slips is as risible now as it was then. A horse and buggy could run you over just as easily as a car and could be driven recklessly and by a “dangerous drunk,” too. The difference now vs. then is that people back then valued their liberty while today’s masses tremble in fear of risks which have always existed but are now neurotically obsessed over. And of course, value liberty as much as a fish pines for the desert.

Anyhow, the motorist’s trip is interrupted by the armed government workers, who demand to see his license/permission slip and discover that it is expired or suspended. When the motorist “resists,” he is taken violently to the ground by two armed government workers, who handle him like bar-room bouncers. Aren’t armed government workers supposed to be “trained”?

But that is not the meat of the video.

The truly marbled portion comes after the male motorist disappears under a scrum of armed government workers. And as his girlfriend/wife becomes the object of their attentions.

She is, first of all, female and not large. She isn’t “threatening” the “safety” of the armed government workers. She merely stands near the scrum, pleading with the armed government workers to stop the beatdown. She is agitated, certainly – and probably is using some choice words. But – as the video shows abundantly – the woman makes no “aggressive” move toward the armed government workers.

And yet, a bullet-headed one of them rushes her very aggressively, wrenches her arms backward and then gratuitously – but likely procedurally – face-plants the woman on the tarmac.

It’s a brutal tactic – intended to brutalize. To degrade and show who is boss. To be thrown onto the pavement, face-first, is humiliating. Which is precisely the purpose of this tactic. There can be no question of this when the object of the face-plant is not “resisting” or violent and when the armed government workers haven’t even asked the person to “turn around put their hands behind their back” and give them the opportunity to comply without being face-planted – as used to be procedure and protocol.

Face-planting and bullet-heads barking to “get on the ground, now!” are recent developments, part of the transformation of police into law enforcers. Emphasis on enforcement.

Even when contrary to law.

It is not an exaggeration, much less hysterical, to state that armed government workers are degenerating into a beer-bellied American SA, the once-infamous but increasingly less famous to government “schooled” Americans street thugs deployed by the National Socialist Workers Party (most Americans are similarly ignorant of the socialist component of “Nazi,” for the same reason) to bash heads in.

Encouraged to do so by the leadership.

The leader – it sounds better in German – Herr Trump (whose real name is apparently the more Germanic-sounding Drumpf) recently did exactly that, publicly egging on today’s SA to not be overly “gentle” with the hoi polloi.

He also just rescinded the previous semi-ban on equipping civilian law enforcers with military hardware, including armored (and heavily armed) vehicles meant to deal with IED-deploying indigs, which are now us, too.

It is a measure of just how far we are down a very dark road that both of these ugly eructations passed like a minor blip on the radar screen. No Big Deal. We grow used to such things.

There were a few negative comments here and there – almost exclusively in the liberal press and only because the to call to thuggery as policy was made by a right-winger (Herr Drumpf). Very much of a piece with the Rote Kampf Bund communists’ harangues about the abuses of their national socialist adversaries, that long time ago.

The same liberal (left-wing) press would cheer the same call to thuggery if urged by one of their own against those not of their own.

Very precious few Americans appear to be appalled by thuggery in principle.

Most appear to want more – and so will get it.

  1. A huge and fundamental problem here is actually one of terminology. We need to stop confusing Authority and Power.

Power is the ABILITY to do something, while Authority is the RIGHT to do something.

In fact, Authority could be defined as “the right to rule WITHOUT the consent of the governed,” and only God Himself has that power over human beings. You don’t even have to be a believer to accept that adult humans are fundamentally equal to each other, so what principle gives one person the right to direct another?

The only human beings who have Authority over other human beings are parents, and that authority only lasts until the individual child has reached adulthood.

Police, judges, military officers – these people wield POWER granted to them by the State, but they don’t have Authority, because they’re not superior beings to the ones they’re issuing commands to.

    • Hi Aljer,

This one really got me going. Not just the thug “hero” – but the fact that no one stepped up to intervene. I am not a confrontational person by nature; I hate fights. But – got-damn it – I would have stepped up, had I been there. What is wrong with people? How did this country become so pussyfied?

      • The schools.
When I was in school and I got punched by another kid I got punished. I didn’t even have to hit back. I assume things are worse now.

        • I never did understand how making the Bully and victim fight( sideshow) proved anything it only added to the Bullys swollen head unless the victim went off and harmed said cretin.
America loves to see the underdog beaten down , had to remind “cellie” that jail fights were not entertainment, it weighs heavily on society that its heros are bullies and thugs that prey on the weak and innocent, there are good state troopers(they seem to be rare) The silly ass safety mandates that make us pay out the ass for crap that will kill you ( had four vehicles{with another vying for attention} that cost Me time and work to get the explosive”face mines” replaced, no reimbursement for this crap, Its actually hard to believe I am not making this up.
Having learned how to drive after a fashion they can take all this virtual posi traction, ABS, uber large blimp vehicles and shove em up their collective rectums.
Nuff said , my S&D is starting to rise.

      • Hello Eric,
I get what you’re saying. Pretty soon you’re going to see Fathers, Brothers, Husbands taking these thugs out behind the woodshed to teach them about hitting girls. If that were to happen to my sister, I don’t know, I’d have to round up my brothers and have a little visit with that scum.

      • More then anything else, it is the disconnect from reality and the rubberneckers(some view violence as entertainment) this country as a whole seems less deserving all the time , no matter what the modern day “Paul Harveys ” would( so eloquent, saying so little of merit).

  2. The ticket is $5 if you mail it in, You can pay it off to me right here beside the road for fiddycent. I do enjoy being a hero, y’know.

  3. And Trump just gave the local polizei Wehrmacht-level weapons. I’ve generally defended Trump so far, but this another sign he’s going far from what he promised, and what voters elected him to do. Alas and alack.

      • True, Rich. I kept pointing out during the campaign that he was nothing special, but so many people were just panicked over Hillary being the “only other choice”.

Any thinking person could have realized that Trump was going to be the next president once he became the official GOP candidate. The form now is for the two gangs to take turns at president.

    • If we are not “law abiding” countermeasures can be taken( not going to happen-I suppose we will go into that long night like a “beaten quarry slave”)

      • Hi Kevin,

I regard the imposition of the TSA as a kind of beta test of what the general public would tolerate. That most people blithely accepted it tells me we – as a country – are doomed. The general population will accept anything. House-to-house searches/confiscation of guns, for example. And worse.

        It’s all in place.

It’s just a question of pretext.

        Which, I suspect, is coming.

        • Eric,
I have this recurring nightmare, of something coming which must be avoided, its something nobody can hide from. What is my subconscious mind trying to tell me?(People know a heck of a lot more then they think)

          • Hi Kevin,

            Ditto. Me also.

I have a gut feeling we are living on borrowed time; that something has been set in motion and now it’s just a matter of running out the clock. Do you remember the movie, Independence Day? Jeff Goldblums character deciphers via his laptop the alien ship’s message… which turns out to be a countdown clock.

            Time’s up.

  4. Eric-

Today, LewRockwell.com featured a piece penned by Nick Giambruno along with Doug Casey and Jeff Thomas.

Jeff Thomas contends that the United States has deliberately created a police state.

He writes, “[t]he US government has consciously created a police state. Historically, whenever governments have done this, it was because they planned increased controls that they thought might incite rebellion. So the police state is created IN ADVANCE (emphasis is original) to demonstrate that opposition to greater controls would be futile.”

The Euclidian example you cite is just one manifestation of such police state control.

The town, formerly village, of Euclid is infamous as being the entity that convinced the US Supreme Court to rubber stamp its zoning regime, commonly referred to as Euclidian Zoning. The case, Village of Euclid v. Ambler Realty Co., 272 U.S. 365 (1926) has long been heralded by progressives. The opinion was authored by Justice Sutherland, who, notwithstanding a reputation for zealously protecting individual liberty, nevertheless found it within himself to write, at 272 U.S. 365, at 387, the following:

“And in this (upholding regulations that at one time may have been invalidated by courts 50-100 years prior thereto as arbitrary and unreasonable) there is no inconsistency, for, while the meaning of constitutional guaranties never varies, the scope of their application must expand or contract to meet the new and different conditions which are constantly coming within the field of their operation.”

A few sentences later, Sutherland adds, “[i]f the validity of the legislative classification for zoning purposes be fairly debatable, the legislative judgment must be allowed to control.”

Never forget the fact that by seizing control of the judiciary, the progressives have had the upper hand.

  5. If anything, police should be held to a higher standard than that of the public…As it stands now, police can commit crimes with impunity because, in most situations, they investigate themselves…Behavior that would get an ordinary citizen charged, convicted and incarcerated is routinely ignored by “the powers that be” because police are considered to be “above the law” as the “law” is whatever they say it is, the Constitution be damned…
Ever notice that police unions are “fraternal”? This should tell you something. The “thin-blue-line” is a gang, little different than street gangs–at least when it comes to “covering-up” their questionable and quite often, illegal and criminal behavior.
In today’s day and age, “officer safety” trumps de-escalation of force. This, in part, is due to the militarization of the police along with training in Israeli police tactics. This becomes a problem, with the “us vs. them” attitude that is fosters, along with the fact that Israel is a very different place, being on a constant “war footing”, its police tactics are very different.
There are too many instances of police being “given a pass”, even when incontrovertible video and audio evidence is presented. Grand juries, guided by police-friendly prosecutors, quite often refuse to charge those police officers who abuse their authority.
Police officers, who want to do the right thing, are quite often marginalized and put into harms way, by their own brethren…When a police officer is beating on someone that is already restrained while yelling, “stop resisting” THAT is but one reason police have a “bad name” in many instances…this makes the “good cops” who are standing around, witnessing their “brethren in blue” beating on a restrained suspect, culpable as well…

    • It also becomes a self-fulfilling prophecy. Aggressive cops are highlighted, aggressive suspects are highlighted. Pretty soon everyone thinks that every cop is aggressive and every cop thinks every suspect is aggressive. They aren’t supposed to profile, so everyone is thought of the same threat level. We don’t see individuals trying to get through their day, we see birds of a feather. They are trained to expect every situation to escalate out of hand at any moment. I’ve seen state troopers approach a driver they’ve pulled over. Every one of them makes a very deliberate motion unlocking their sidearm holster. They do it so that if the driver is looking at them in the side view mirror they will definitely see it. This sets the tone as aggressive right from the start. The trooper shows that he’s perfectly willing to shoot you, even though he’s far more likely to get hit by a tractor trailer than be attacked by a speeder.

  6. well…
Here are changes that can help reduce police-induced violence:
    1. Get rid of police unions. Police unions (fraternities) protect the guilty, and are responsible for the massive whitewashing of questionable police behavior that is presently being committed.
    2. Eliminate both “absolute” and “qualified” immunity for all public officials. This includes, prosecutors and judges, police and firefighters, code enforcement and child protective services officials, and others who deal with the citizenry. The threat of being sued personally would encourage them to behave themselves. Require police officers to be “bonded” by an insurance company, with their own funds. No bond= no job.
    3. Any public funds disbursed to citizens as a result of police misconduct should come out of police pension funds–NOT from the taxpayers.
    4. Regular drug-testing of police officers as well as incident-based drug testing should take place whenever an officer is involved in a violent situation with a citizen–no exceptions.
    5. Testing for steroid use should be a part of the drug testing program. You know damn well, many police officers “bulk up” with the “help” of steroids. Steroids also affect users mentally as well, making them more aggressive. The potential for abuse of citizens increases greatly with steroid use.
    6. Internal affairs should only be used for disagreements between individual officers–NOT for investigations involving citizen abuse. State-level investigations should be mandatory for all suspected abuses involving citizens.
    7. Prosecutors should be charged with malfeasance IF any evidence implicating police officer misconduct is not presented to the grand jury.
    8. A national or state-by-state database of abusive individuals who should NEVER be allowed to perform police work should be established–a “blacklist” of abusive (former) police officers.
    9. Most people are unaware that police have special “rules” that prohibit them from being questioned for 48 hours. This allows them to “get their stories straight” and makes it easier to “cover up” bad police behavior. Police must be subject to the same laws as civilians.
    10. All police should be required to wear bodycams and utilize dashcams that cannot be
turned off. Any police officers who causes a dash or body cam to be turned off should be summarily fired–no excuses. Today’s body and dash cams are reliable enough to withstand harsh treatment. Body and dashcam footage should be uploaded to a public channel “on the cloud” for public perusal.
    11. All interrogations must be video and audio recorded. Police should be prohibited from lying or fabricating stories in order to get suspects to confess. False confessions ARE a problem in many departments. Unknown to most people, police can lie with impunity while civilians can be charged with lying to police…fair? I think not…
    12. Any legislation passed that restricts the rights of ordinary citizens, such as firearms magazine capacity limits, types of weapons allowed, or restrictive concealed-carry laws should apply equally to police. No special exemptions to be given to police. Laws must be equally applied.
13 “Asset forfeiture” is a form of “legalized robbery under color of law” and must be abolished. We must return to Constitutional principles when it comes to “crimefighting”. The so-called “war on drugs” is actually a “war on the citizenry” and has had an extremely corrosive effect on the Constitutional principles that our country is (supposed to be) founded on.
    14. “No-knock” raids must be abolished as they put both police and (especially citizens) in harms way. Even the Nazis “knocked on the door” before gaining entry.
    15. SWAT teams must be reigned in on their “dynamic entry techniques”. Smashing everything in sight, while claiming that it is due to an “adrenaline rush” is NEVER necessary. Destruction of property is NEVER necessary.
Police work is not inherently dangerous…there are many other professions that are much more dangerous.
A little “Andy Taylor” could go a long way in allaying fears that citizens have of police.
That being said, I have no problem with the few police officers who do their job in a fair, conscientious manner…however, it is time to call to task those police officers who only “protect and serve” themselves.

    • The real problem is the courts that give the power to police. Other countries police have much limited power as compared to this so-called “country”.

      • 8S, the courts in all western countries are becoming dictatorial and appointing themselves powers they don’t have. All this power is coming from the international bank cartel, who every large business borrows money from to keep going. Here in down under, the Melbourne cops allowed an islamic terrorist to kill 5 people and then told us we must give up our civil liberties to fight terrorism, the terrorism sponsored by the government to take away our rights. Yet they put out search and arrest warrants if you challenge a scamera fine. And none of the western governments will willingly follow the laws laid down for centuries as long as we just put up with it. And yet the governments are running scared of a tin pot dictator in a primitive country 9000 km away who is threatening to bomb us. With what? Hungry soldiers who steal from the people to fill their tummies? I fail to see the difference between an Aussie invasion of Afghanistan and a NK invasion of Australia. Both are evil.

    • Anarchyst,

All needed reforms that will never happen.

Remember, you have only one right. Right this way (to the Krematorien).

    • Those would all be good reforms:

      A few more.

      16. Absolutely, no bad language or swearing when dealing with the public. None whatsoever. (Looks and is unprofessional too). No exemptions.

      17. Badge number in big letters (ok numbers) on uniform (on back and front), so the public doesn’t have to ask for a badge number. Will make it easier to ID individual officers, so they can’t hide within the ranks.

      18. When the public is not obligated to give police information or evidence (like the nurse situation in Utah) police are prohibited from asking for it in the hopes people will just give it. Those cops in the hospital just assumed the nurse would take the sample for them.

      19. Complete prohibition on drunk roadblocks and “speed” traps.

      20. All revenue from traffic tickets to go to roadbuilding and maintenance department. No revenue to the writing department. No funds to be used for police equipment.

      21. Prohibit donations of equipment and money from insurance companies that sell car insurance.
