This is my Christmas card to all of you – the people I’ve gotten to know over the years from all of the conversations we’ve had over the years – even though I’ve only met a few of you in person so far.
You’ve been my friends during a time when I came to the realization that many of the people I thought I knew were not. And now I know who is.
We have been through much together, these past four years especially – and knowing I can always find a friend here to haggle good-naturedly over this or that – which is a rare thing in these hyper-ideological times – has always been a source of good fun and good learning for me. I hope it is and will always be so for you, too.
And I hope everyone wakes up to a wonderful Christmas – and that the coming year is a good one for everyone!
Thanks to all of you – and Merry Christmas!
-Eric
Belated Merry Christmas to Eric and everyone here and a happy new year!
Merry Christmas friends.
Eric, thanks for maintaining this speakeasy.
This is one of very few places I comment, free speech went out the window too long ago.
Merry Christmas!
I’m hoping you begin hosting an annual car gathering event someday. What a hoot that would be for many of us to get together in person with our vehicles.
Thanks, Auto!
I hope to get that done. I have a field large enough to accommodate a good-sized crowd (RVs, tents, etc.). O wish I were better organized… and had more time. I can work on the one. The other’s a ‘nother thing!
that would be fun. we’ll bring the bike down but no tents for our old backs. hope there’s a hotel nearby.
Merry Christmas!
I am with Chris. If there is a B&B nearby I would attend Floyd’s version of Woodstock. The next question is there music and BBQ? Do I need to chip in for booze or do we bring our own?
Be careful…the SPLC might sic’ the FBI, ATF, and whatever clowns are LEOs in the Commonwealth of VA to shut down your little shin-dig as some “Gathering of WHITE Supremacists”. I wish it was just me being paranoid and/or talking out of my ass.

Merry Christmas!
Thanks for the kind words, Howard!
👍
And Happy New Year!
Please keep up the good work Eric, we who read Eric’s articles and post comments are > 1% of the North America continent. most of the masses have never had an original thought. Bread and circuses to keep toads entertained. Merry Christmas to all and to all a good night.
Merry Christmas to all. Wishing everybody a great new year.
I’d say “Bah, Humbug!”, but Denis Leary put it a lot better than I ever could…

Merry Christmas and Peace Filled 2025 to all my brothers and sisters who frequent Eric’s community,
May your Christmas Day and the days following bring y’all the best of the season–appreciation of the good traditions we all share and rejection of the authoritarian actions of all levels of government. One tradition that I enjoy very much personally is participating in the, sometimes peppery, discussions in this comment section. Also, personal thanks to Eric for providing this unique playground for we libertarian realists. Deep gratitude from the woods of TN.
Not to pee on everyone’s “Christmas”, “Christmas” used to be outlawed by the church, as what it ACTUALLY was, was Saturn worship. It’s Saturnalia, re-purposed and modernized. It’s why we give material gifts on “Christmas”, rather than seeking a deeper connection to our creator.
By matter of fact, knowing a bit about when shepherds would be actually be in those fields at night, and knowing how Jews work and like to make everything “opposite” and offensive, especially to Christians, the most likely date of Jesus’ birth is April 1, otherwise known as “April Fools Day”. When wikipedia states the following: “Although many theories have been proposed, the exact origin of April Fools’ Day is not exactly known.”, then what you can surmise, is that the real reason would piss you off, so they hide it from you.
And also, the notion that Jesus was born in a manger with animals, is also equally offensive, and I reject this unilaterally as well.
So, while I can appreciate the sentiment of “Christmas” when one is wholly ignorant on the subject, learned and educated Christians should reject the vast majority of “Christmas” as deeply offensive to them as well as God.
If anything can be true, then it’s that our FEELINGS on this subject, which have been quite deeply programmed into us clearly, should take an absolute back seat to what we know to be factual and true. And if you’ll excuse me, I’ll be sitting Saturnalia (Satan’s day! Yay! Retch…) out this year.
Good luck, everyone. For my people perish, but for lack of knowledge. Hosea 4:6.
Just for you, letmepicyou:

If one accepts the LDS Church’s teachings on the subject, the anniversary of the Savior’s mortal birth would be April 6. Whatever. He was “borned”, lived, taught, died for our sins, and rose from the dead. All that I care to know.
As for the fourth-century Christian church glomming onto what was effectively the Winter Solstice feast and holiday, “Saturnalia”, replacing that form of “paganism”, which most Romans gave but nominal lip service to anyway, with a “Christian” holiday. Under Constantine, the Christians were spared official persecution, albeit a “relapse” under Julian the Apostate about 360 AD, but Trinitarian Christianity became the Roman STATE religion, thus decreed by Theodosius I (“Megas”, or “Great”), shortly before he passed on. It should be noted that there were no claims of the Bishop of Rome (SPQR) having any particular primacy over the Church; indeed, one of the titles of Theodosius had been one that had passed down from the first acknowledged Emperor, Augustus, was “Pontifex Maximus”. IDK what the arrangement was supposed to be after Theodosius assumed room temperature and the Empire was divided between his two sons, Arcadius and Honorius, with the latter taking the West, nominally ruling from Rome, but actually setting up shop in the far-more defensible Ravenna.
The prohibition against celebrating Christmas was actually something that came from both the Anglicans and especially the Puritans, who were dour, stern, and generally the worst damned buzzkills this planet’s ever suffered. The notion of “making merry”, never mind that it kept the midwives busy come the following August and/or September, to celebrate the birth of Jesus was, well, ‘Anathema” to these tight-asses. Ever wonder WHY Ben Franklin got the Duck outta Fodge, or “Bah-Stun” (Boston) and settled in Philly? He had enough of that killjoy crap and wanted to go where a good drinking, screwing time could be had!
Nanaimo bars, gotta have Nanaimo bars for it to be Christmas.
It’s Christmas in Killarney and all of the folks back home.
Even in Killarney, Manitoba. A scenic place that will not be too soon forgotten.
Never been to Nanaimo out there in British Columbia, must be a nice spot on the planet, though.
Merry Christmas Eric and to all who frequent this site.
This is my fave site…..Thanks Eric, you outlaw !!

Merry Christmas to you, Eric, and everyone else on this site.
Merry Christmas.
Merry Christmas Eric to you and your family. Thanks so much for your website.
Visiting your website is a major high point of my day. For a couple of reasons. Your writing is excellent, and many of the comments are also. God love you for keeping your censorship to a bare minimum, among other things. I could go on, but my hands don’t work well anymore.
Back atchya, Eric.
Thanks for being a voice of reason in these tumultuous times. And for providing a place for like-minded people to gather.
This is my third Christmas as a widower. It sucks. But, she believed in her heart & confessed with her mouth that Christ was Lord, I know we’ll be together again one day. Blessings to all.

Sometimes in a dream, you appear
Outside under the purple sky
Diamonds in the snow sparkle
Our hearts were singing
It felt like Christmastime

And belated Merry Christmas to everyone. But it’s not too late to wish everyone a Murray Christmas and Hoppe New Year

In the 1986 tune and accompanying video by Julian Lennon, “Stick Around”, one of the bimbos, a “punk”-looking platinum blonde, brings in her older friend, Ms. Hynde, then about 35, and still very much “milfy”, as it’s implied that John Lennon’s older son had a rocking good time with both the *ahem* ladies. That vid’s also notable for cameos by Joe Piscopo and Michael J Fox, both whom “steal” his “ladies”, but the g/f that initially walks out on him, then at the end, returns is played by Jamie Gert…another “Jewish Princess, with a garlic aroma, that could level Tacoma.” Been meaning to honor the late Frank Zappa and that great tune with a montage of attractive Jewesses.
Gertz…Sorry.

Merry Christmas to you as well.
‘The Greatest Gift of All’
“… All Americans have a huge stake in Christianity. Whether or not we are individually believers in Christ, we are beneficiaries of the moral doctrine that has curbed power and protected the weak. […]
Christianity’s emphasis on the worth of the individual makes such power as Lenin claimed, and Washington now claims, unthinkable. Be we religious or be we not, our celebration of Christ’s birthday celebrates a religion that made us masters of our souls and of our political life on Earth. Such a religion as this is worth holding on to even by atheists.”…

It is believed that there are more than 200,000,000 Chinese Christians. Every Christmas is merry and bright, I’m sure. What else can it be?
It is Christmas all over the world.
One person did change the world. Saved many souls since then.

Merry Christmas Eric! Appreciate you and your fight for liberty.
Merry Christmas. Unlike our Congressmen, I hope everyone here has a wonderful day filled with good food, frothy beer, jovial conversation, and lots of love.
And “Wallace and Gromit” on BBC One.
There is still a Britain.
Roscoe, Gromit, and Shaun. The kind of fun cartoons used to be.
I don’t mind Christmas at all, but my boys and I “get it up” for FESTIVUS. Especially the “airing of grievances”, and the feasting.
Thanks for all you do Eric. I hope that you and all your commenters have a very Merry Christmas and a happy new year.
Thank you, Eric, Merry Christmas to you and yours also!
Merry Christmas to you Eric! Keep fighting the good fight.
Merry Christmas, Eric. I greatly appreciate all that you do.
All I want for Christmas is an EDIT button! 😀
Merry Christmas to you kind sir. You’ve created quite a nice gathering place for us.

thats funy
Thank you for another great year of content and Merry Christmas.
Same to you, Buddy. May His Blessings be upon you, now and in the coming years. Let us remember His final command to us as given in the Book of John, “34 So now I am giving you a new commandment: Love each other. Just as I have loved you, you should love each other. 35 Your love for one another will prove to the world that you are my disciples.”
