If you haven’t heard, Christopher Nolan cast a tranny as a Greek warrior and a black woman as Helen of Troy in his film adaptation of The Odyssey, which is a famous ancient epic written by a Greek (Homer) about Greeks. It is not the only incidence of what has been rightly styled cultural vandalism.
I have another term for it: Blackfacing.
I saw another instance of this recently, on TeeVee.
In the series, The Last Kingdom – which is supposed to be about the struggle between Saxons and Danes (Vikings) to control what was then not-yet England, in the years prior to the Norman conquest in 1066. As politically incorrect as it may be to point this out, there were no black Earldormen (nobles) in Northumbria or Wessex in what was not-yet England at that time. Or priests. Yet we see both in the TeeVee tale about this period of Anglo-Saxon history.
In italics to make the point – as if it needed to be.
In one remarkable scene, the king of one of the kingdoms (there were many at this time) is discussing what to do about a potential threat to his kingdom. As the camera pans around the table, we see not one but three black lords. We see black soldiers in the background of battle scenes, too. There is also a black priest who is not a minor character. The Saxons and Danes interplay with him as if it were not a very strange thing to see a black man dressed in church garb circa 980 AD in what was then entirely Anglo-Saxon England. Aye, there’s the rub. There is an element that wants to gradually whitewash away the fact that the West was once not “diverse.” The end goal – this ought to be obvious – is to eventually get to a point where the accepted history will be that the West was always “diverse.” Eventually, if this effrontery is allowed to stand, we’ll be presented with Black Charlemagne or Black Henry VII (and VIII, too). Caesar will be depicted as a “person of color.”
Alexander Hamilton was played by a black man in the recent, eponymous musical. There was a black lord sitting at Henry VIII’s table in Wolf Hall.
Does it matter? Does history matter? Does the truth matter?
Does the history of the Anglo Saxon people matter? It ought to, if you are an Anglo Saxon – because it is your history. Your inheritance. There are people – such as Nolan and the people behind The Last Kingdom – who want to disinherit you and would like for you to pay for the privilege, by purchasing a ticket to see The Odyssey.
I’d rather not see it. Not because I dislike black people – or trannies. Because I dislike effronterous lies. I despise the smarmy insolence of it. The daring us to notice – to say something when we notice – a black actor portraying an Angle Saxon earldorman in the not-yet-England of more than 1,000 years ago. Or a black lord seated at Henry VIII’s table 500 years ago – as if that were nothing to notice and object to as a historical untruth. That is to say, a lie.
It’s all a kind of reverse blackface – and it is meant to be demeaning. That’s why you don’t see Al Jolsen on TeeVee anymore. It’s also why you don’t see white actors portraying Martin Luther King, Jr. As they ought not to. Because Martin Lither King wasn’t white. Or a tranny, for that matter. Imagine the uproar if Elliot (nee Ellen) Page were tapped to portray “Dr. King’s Early Years.” Of course that would never happen for exactly the reason. There would be an uproar. Rightly so.
So why is there not much uproar when this blackfacing is done to assault Anglo Saxon historical characters and Anglo Saxon (Western) stories and myths and fables, such as the story of the Greek hero Odysseus and the Greek woman Helen of Troy? The answer is simple. Anglo Saxons are not allowed to be outraged when their history is blackfaced.
This here river only runs one way, capn’. Hadn’t you heard?
Well, we have the option of not taking a canoe trip down that river. We can turn the TeeVee off. We can cancel our subscriptions and not buy tickets. And we ought to understand what’s about to happen when they tell us that we look jus’ like a hog.

Over and over again, we hear that whites “steal” black culture. Where are the classic black epics that have stood the test of time? At least the Native Americans have some good stories about wolves and coyotes and buzzards that try to teach a lesson and explain the universe.
I guess the radical woke narrative of “whites stole everything from blacks” carries over to Greek theatre too.
You make a very sound point, RK –
They have to steal other cultures’ history and historical figures. It is both embarrassing and effronterous.
If I were a rich man, I’d commission a remake of Roots – starring Ryan Gosling as Kunta Kinte. Let the fireworks ensue!
True RK,
After the blacks in South Africa drove out/murdered the white farmers agricultural output plummeted. Guess the crops didn’t plant or harvest themselves, who woulda thunk it! Takes a lot of hard physical labor to run a farm, but those lazy f*cks expect everything to be handed to them.
‘I have another term for it: Blackfacing.’ — eric
Funny that having been conditioned by it all our lives, we never even notice the parallel, ubiquitous phenomenon of Jewfacing. Consider this editorial in today’s New York Slimes:
Mamdani’s Netanyahu Stunt Was a Waste of His Talent and Our Time — ‘Thomas L Friedman’
Why do talentless hacks like ‘Friedman’ get media soapboxes to preach their ethnic-supremacist horseshit at us, in media organs owned and managed by their coreligionists? Diversity — in the form of white, hispanic and black actual American authors — would do the monocultural Lügenpresse a world of good. Kindly Uncle Adolf said it best:
‘One needed only to look at the posters announcing the hideous productions of the cinema and theatre, and study the names of the authors who were highly lauded there in order to become permanently adamant on Jewish questions.
‘Here was a pestilence, a moral pestilence with which the public was being infected. It was worse than the Black Plague of long ago. And in what mighty doses this poison was manufactured and distributed!’ — quoted by Pierre Simon

Israel is our misfortune.
One of my favorite historical fiction movies is Kingdom of Heaven. It was fiction but it did pay tribute to the history of the events like the Battle of Hattin in which basically lured a bunch of over zealous Knights Templar to their defeat….not coincidentally on July 4, 1187. The guy that played Saladin was fricking brilliant. Ridley Scott directed this and I consider it his crowning achievement. Further, this and the The Battle of Maiwand, in Afghanistan on July 27, 1880 bear remarkable resemblence to U.S. foreign policy today…..in all three cases, remarkable hubris led the established powers to underestimate their supposedly backward foes and get their asses kicked. Too nerdy? Probably….FWIW, I love the Underground Railroad meme…..nothing sends retards into fits more than being mocked so big score on that one…..
There’s a reason its called the “Talmud-vision”….
It seems life has taken us into a combination of the series Twilight Zone and Outer Limits from the 1960’s…both created by Jewish entertainer/writers
Almost like there’s an (((agenda))) going on here, eh???
YMMV….
Hi Saxons,
Yup, It’s become so over-the-top that it’s both silly and obnoxious at the same time. We can fight back by mocking it – and refusing to watch and (more important) or pay for it.
Agreed — the whitefaced Harriet Tubman is savage mockery.
I myself am bidding to play Al Sharpton (the new slimmed-down iteration) in a new biopic of the great social justice advocate. It’s all in the delivery, getting laughs from this line:
‘I could take all the cartoons in the tabloid newspapers, but I couldn’t take muh daughter punching me in the belly and asking why I wuz so fat.’
Morning, Jim!
This blackfacing needs to be savagely mocked – bt doing the same in return via whitefacing. Even in the darkest days of politically incorrect TeeVee, when (as an example) white people played Indians, at least they were made to look like Indians. There were never any depictions of blond haired, blue-eyed “Indians” in the ’50s…
Hey, Eric,
Not quite true. Blond haired? No.
Blue eyed? Yes.

“Look for the blue eyed Indian”
> Starting in 1934 in Wichita, Kansas, Navajo Freight Lines expanded significantly after World War II. At their peak, they boasted a fleet of 5,000 vehicles, 67 terminals, and employed 3,000 people. The company became recognizable by the striking image of a blue-eyed Indian featured on their silver trailers traveling across America’s highways, especially Route 66.

Before you know it, Tom Jefferson will be depicted as black, and his mistress Sally Hemmings as a blond haired, blue eyed white girl. [rolling eyes skyward]
Hi Adi,
I’ll raise you. There’ll be a movie about Caesar, who’ll be played by a tranny. Vercingetorix, will, of course, be played by a black woman.
How long before historic white figures in these movies and TV series are not only played by non-white actors but also affect black speech?
Gnomesayin’?
Hey, Eric,
See that, and raise you Cleopatra as a drag queen. Eew. 🙁
“Movie about Caesar, who’ll be played by a tranny.” It wouldn’t be all that out of line. A lot has been whitewashed out of history–“Gaius Scribonius Curio, an orator and outspoken opponent of Caesar, called him “a man to every woman and a woman to every man”
https://www.walksinsiderome.com/blog/julius-caesars-scandalous-sex-life/
AI: “The ancient record is The Lives of the Twelve Caesars by the Roman historian Suetonius, which details rumors regarding a young Julius Caesar and King Nicomedes IV of Bithynia. Around 80 BCE, a 20-year-old Caesar was sent as an envoy to the court of King Nicomedes IV in Bithynia (modern-day Turkey) to secure a fleet of ships. Suetonius records that Caesar stayed at the royal court longer than necessary, leading to persistent rumors that he became the king’s lover and lay with him on a golden couch. Political opponents and contemporary figures—including Cicero, Bibulus, and the poet Calvus—frequently invoked these rumors to mock Caesar as the “Queen of Bithynia”, attacking his masculinity by claiming he took the passive role in the relationship. During Caesar’s military triumphs years later, his own marching soldiers chanted ribald rhyming verses about the affair, singing that “Caesar conquered the Gauls, Nicomedes conquered Caesar”.
Hi Adi,
Related story. I regularly visit Jefferson’s other home – Poplar Forest – which is closer to me (about an hour’s drive) than Monticello and also because it’s much less crowded. These visits have become tedious because the tour guides harp endlessly about “enslaved people.” Yes, of course, there were slaves. I come to hear about Jefferson. Sorry if that makes me an insensitive meanie. It is a near certainty some of my distant ancestors were enslaved by the Romans. I am interested in hearing about the Romans.
> “enslaved people.” Yes, of course, there were slaves.
Because that is the way the world was, at that time.
Robert E. Lee, Himsself, observed, circa 1865, after cessation of hostilities, that slavery as an institution was on its way out, worldwide. He was correct. By 20th century, it was gone.
But while it existed in the U.S., Yankees were as deeply into the slave trade as Southerners, because it was extremely profitable.
In fact, the richest merchant in Charleston, S.C., once the richest city in the British colonies, and later the U.S., was Nathaniel Russell:
https://americanaristocracy.com/people/nathaniel-russell
who hailed originally from Rhode Island, and made a considerable part of his vast fortune from buying and selling human beings. The slave trade is said to have been his most lucrative business.
How lucrative? If you are ever in Charleston, visit his mansion @ 51 Meeting St. It is impressive.
One classic “tri-corner” trade was:
1) Slaves from Africa to the sugar plantations of the Caribbean
2) Molasses, made from sugar cane, to New England
3) Rum, distilled from molasses, from New England to Africa, to buy more slaves
I’ll second that, Giusueppe!
Ed Norton did a superb job also playing Baldwin. Imagine how the whole thing would have been ruined if they’d cast Samuel Jackson (also a fine actor) as Baldwin. Or – for that matter – Ed Norton as Saladin.
Everyone not actually dim understands that this blackfacing stuff is done deliberately, not just because “casting.” It is done to attack white people and white history. The fact – I think it’s inarguable – that there would be a massive uproar if a white man (better yet, a white tranny) were cast to play Martin Luther King makes the point. It would be objected to as false, degrading and abusive of history. QED.
Was it Solzhenitsyn who said that the purpose of Soviet propaganda was to humiliate and degrade the people? That “We know they’re lying, they know we know they’re lying, and they continue to lie anyway?”
We see this everywhere in our ideologically totalitarian society, particularly in advertising where Negro males are always portrayed as wise, intelligent, and wealthy (and always with a hot blonde white woman) and the White Man is always portrayed as stupid, moronic, and criminal… where leftists make “land acknowledgements” to “the merciless Indian savages,” as Jefferson called them in the Declaration, who would have raped every liberal white woman bowing and scraping before them; and where females are always portrayed as superior to idiotic, bumbling White Men.
For the most part I don’t have a problem with the casting.
What I have a problem with, is endlessly moralizing over the choice to do the casting that way, and going out of the way to rewrite the story around it.
Which I have no idea if they actually do, because I haven’t seen the movie yet.
I think Lupita Nyong’o is hot. If anything, when you think about it, casting a black woman for this role is probably slightly less historically ridiculous than casting a blonde.
Also, yes Hollywood may be overcompensating but as time goes on this country is less & less white, and that’s what people do…they make their heroes, and heroines, look like them. Because that’s what a hero is…a more perfect version of oneself. And Homer, as great as he was, was not exactly a documentarian. It’s just people, pretending to be characters in a fictional (or at least heavily fictionalized) account. I bet there’s even (gasp) special effects in it!
Actually Helen is described in the Odyssey as having white arms and light hair.
No, it’s not left open. Let’s stop spreading misinformation and trying to reinterpret this because of the casting choices for this movie. It’s pathetic. Homer described Helen (of SPARTA) as white armed which signified pale skin and high status. Her hair is described as καλλιπλόκαμος – kalliplokamos fair haired meaning light coloured hair. Pale skin was considered a beauty standard for women in that era. Helen is Mediterranean , light-skinned woman.
https://www.reddit.com/r/ChristopherNolan/comments/1t9foa3/homer_never_physically_described_helen_it_was/
(AI:) Leukōlenos: Translated as “white-armed,” referring to the fair skin of her arms in a traditional poetic sense rather than a modern racial category. Xanthē: Translated as “yellow-haired,” “golden,” or “auburn,” describing the fair or light color of her hair.
______________
I’ve seen Charlton Heston and Burt Lancaster playing Indians (and various white women who maybe have a black braid wig slapped on their head w/a feather head band). Elizabeth Taylor was Cleopatra. Othello used to be played by a white man (because there were no black actors). And people wanted to see Olivier’s Othello (or whoever the great actor of the day was).
I do get that EP doesn’t like to see the melting pot when he is watching a historical film, but if you lived in Japan/Korea/China: everyone is oriental no matter what the story is about. Same in India: the British, the American, Norwegian, Viking whatever character is played by an Indian. Sure the same is true in Africa and if there were a white actor probably be playing a black character. Since we are now a ‘melting pot’/multi racial society not sure how you can expect actresses/actors not to be multi racial also.

Re: trannies. In ancient Greece, Rome and Britain until 1660 (not sure when began) all female roles played by males. In Japan, China, India and Iran also (and probably other countries as well). According to AI it is still debated whether or not Greek women were even allowed to attend plays. In Rome they were allowed but had separate seating. Women acting was considered indecent by most cultures. In England youths until their voices changed played female roles and children and minor parts in ancient Greece. But the major parts like Medea and Antigone were played by men who wore masks and wigs.
So what? I don’t watch any of this garbage anyway. I don’t know why you do.
Hi Daniel,
I try not to. I was enjoying The Last Kingdom, which is well done. It is congruent (broadly) with the history of what was then not-yet England and – for the first couple of seasons – nothing effronterous was smuggled into the mix. Then – and this is typical – they brought in the black priest and began to slip black actors into the background. It was at that point that I stopped watching. Not because I’m “racist” (oy vey, it gets tiresome) but because I dislike history being altered to reflect what was not actually history. Imagine a biography of Halie Selasi starring Billy Bob Thornton . . . there would be an explosion of outrage. But we’re supposed to just sit back and pretend that blacks were doing things they weren’t in countries where they weren’t.
Not I, screamed the clown.
We saw “Young Washington” on Saturday. I thought it was actually a very good movie, though some creative historical liberties may have been taken. For all his faults, I still think Washington to be one of our best Presidents, not in least because he stepped down voluntarily.
But notably, this was the movie’s 3rd weekend at the theater. I expected us to be the only people there. Though it was a small theater, it was packed. We almost didn’t get seats. Also, the crowd *applauded* at the end of this one. I hadn’t seen *that* happen in many years. This from a small-budget, independent film that had no glaring “modernizations”.
I concur with you. I really felt it was a solid, well made movie. I hadn’t realized what a fuck up he was in the beginning of his military career. Amazing what perseverance and faith in ones cause can achieve. It made him into the great leader he became. We saw it in Flagstaff shortly after it opened. mid week, first showing in the morning, we were the only ones in the theatre. Angel studios continues to impress. They have the potential to become a real disruptor of hollywoods rotten apple cart.
I really hope so, Norman. Yes, I’m somewhat compelled to learn more about the man now, though I had heard that Washington’s early life was blemished with mistakes and failures. Resilience and perseverance are indispensable. I can attest to that.
Did I tell ya that I learned I don’t need to have any “white guilt” about where I live? There were never any natives/American-Indian tribes that resided where I am now. And I now can see why. I’m inclined to say they weren’t that stupid. There are no readily available water sources, the wind in nearly incessant, and everything that lives here tries to claim everything you have for its own. Growing things in the dirt is done with great difficulty. Just digging a hole requires considerable fortitude.
But… This is where “white man’s” environmentally alien, Earth-altering ways come into play, along with his contumacious nature. What is also needed is grit, and we’re chock full of that. 😉
I gave up on the White guilt when Obozo instituted a coup against a sitting president. The only reason he became president was to ease White peoples guilt.
Not sure where you are at, but most of N side of the 40 is really rough. Probably the best animals to keep are sheep or goats. I know a guy has a place in AJ and one in Ash Fork. He has lots of goats that he rents to construction companies in the valley. They fence their lots, he brings X number of goats for a set period of time. The goats excel at keeping all the weeds down. He seems to get some decent coin for it.
Lots of deer and elk all along that 40 corridor. I read somewhere that the Az elk population is exploding. If I lived way out, I would be chumming my ground to bring them in, harvesting them at regular intervals. If you cant have raised beds that get the water off your roof, then grow bags are your friend. The harsher the climate and more the challenges the better they work. I stick to the 30 gallons which are easily moved around in a pinch.
The problem with the end of history and the neo-liberal solution is that it drifts ever farther from reality. Consider the ‘values’ inflicted on us in recent decades. Men can turn into women and vice versa, women and men are equal, men can have babies and breastfeed, divorce and fatherless kids are good things, unassimilable immigrants add value, wars provide good jobs to Americans, transing kids is heroic, everyone except white men is oppressed, printing money out of thin air and charging interest on it is economic growth, on and on the insanity goes.
This is not going to end well, and I doubt there’s anything that can be done about it.
> The end goal – this ought to be obvious – is to eventually get to a point where the accepted history will be that the West was always “diverse.”
The past was alterable. The past never had been altered. Oceania was at war with Eastasia. Oceania had always been at war with Eastasia.
The idea that there were black lords in England circa 980AD is beyond laughable, our woke overlords think were so dumbed down that we won’t notice the blatant rewriting of history. I think I’ve read almost every Uthred novel(series written by Bernard Cornwell that the show The Last Kingdom is based upon) and there are a grand total of zero black characters. Why? Because Cornwell is a historian who loves England’s history and wants to faithfully recreate this history for modern times and not to fulfill the wishes of ideological zealots who care for nothing more than destroying our culture.
Now, in Cornwell’s The Winter King trilogy(a fantastic retelling of King Arthur, also incorporates the fight between paganism and christianity after the Romans left Britain) there is one black character, Sagumon, who joined up with King Arthur while he was fighting on mainland Europe and everyone in the books referenced how odd he was because there were no blacks in England in the 500s. At this point I think we all need to turn off the television and start doing other things, why sit there and watch shit that is designed to piss in our faces?
