There is a common thread binding the “COVID” and “climate” crisis in that the former wasn’t and the latter isn’t.
At least, not in the sense intended.
There was – and is – a crisis, certainly. A psychological one, deftly engineered. People were – and are being – hammered by what has been accurately styled Fear Porn intended to do just that. Make them afraid in order to (as H.L. Mencken put it once) make them clamorous to be led to safety.
Of course it is more than just that. It is also designed to make it difficult for any person not addled by fear to step out of line. This was easily seen during the “COVID” exercise. The relative few who were less worried about catching a cold than they were about losing their freedom – what was left of it – had to face extreme social pressure in addition to the pressure applied by the government and its business partners in the world of commerce. Some were physically accosted by hysterical “maskers” because the “maskers” were unhinged by the sight of anyone else not wearing one of the things. Since the claim was that “mask” wearing protected the wearer, this fury directed toward those who did not wear cannot be rationally accounted for.
The same with regard to the putative cure that was pushed. Those who favored not-pushing but who respected the right of others to take the cure if they felt it was a good idea were derided as “anti-vax” when in fact all they were was in favor of choice – the very thing, interestingly, that many of the deriders of those who chose not to take the “vaccine” but didn’t object to others choosing differently defend as a holy thing, almost, when it comes to ending the life of a not-yet-born child.
Anyhow, both the “COVID” and “climate change” narratives use a similar technique that is based on what Dr. Goebbels (channeling Edward Bernays) came up with about telling lies often enough such that they become a kind of truth by general affirmation.
It is the use of truth to sell a lie.
With regard to what was sold as “COVID,” it was the truth that people were coming down with something. As they always do every flu season (hence season). It appears to have been a new kind of flu, but there was nothing especially unusual about that, either. That’s why, incidentally, the flu shot they peddle every year isn’t very effective – to use the word they like to use. Which is probably why they give it away for free – as we all know the value of that. Well, some of us know the value of that. The main point is that while it appeared to be true there was a bug going around, it was about as likely to kill you as a bad cold is likely to kill you, if you were otherwise healthy when you caught it.
This truth took some time to percolate upward from the soup of deliberate lies. Most notoriously, the synchronized screeching about the cases! the cases! – i.e., the daily (hourly) count of positive test results (on very sketchy PCR tests) that were deliberately conflated with imminent death. The media – owned by pharma via advertising buys – omitted to tell people that almost everyone who “tested positive” did not die or even spend time in a hospital. After awhile, people began to notice the incongruities. All these “cases” – yet so few deaths. (at least, outside of nursing homes – where death is as commonplace as acne is among adolescents). Small businesses had to be closed down but it was “safe” for people to shop at the big stores. They tried to force everyone to wear a “mask” everywhere – which was obviously done to stop the spread of sanity by making it appear that everyone had gone crazy.
Many are still afflicted.
The attempt to foment hysteria about the “climate” and its ” changing” relies on the same technique. The truth is the “climate” does “change.” Some years are hotter (and some cooler) than others. This is something everyone knows and so it is easy to sell the lie that the “change” is abnormal – existentially so – and that it is caused by the average person owning a car and having AC and heat in his single family home and meat in the fridge, etc.
In other words, the average person is made to feel guilty about having the small luxuries by people who want to be be the only ones who have luxuries.
Note here that just as Dr. Fauci and Gavin Newsom and many others of their ilk were caught not wearing the “masks” they insisted everyone else wear and also socializing with their friends and family while demanding the rest of us shun one another, the most ardent proselytizers of the “climate change” lie do not give up their personal jet aircraft or their luxury vehicles or otherwise live “sustainably.”
That’s for the fools who believe the lies that are sold to them using a grain of truth.

The panic is real and while all those political hobgoblins mentioned by Mencken are just that – imaginary – they do continue to do their job very well.
During a recent visit at a couple of South Pacific islands, parts of which happen to be fairly popular destinations for well-off tourists from AUS/NZ and even Canada/USA, I was saddened to see signs in shop windows, and even on some taxis, saying “100% Fully Vaccinated” with a big green tick box, of course.
And those tourists…they may be able to afford the airfares and the $1000/night accommodation, but hey, quite a few are still convinced they need to wear a mask, even after 10 boosters!
Given the general happy and outgoing disposition of the locals, plus the wonderful tropical weather, clear seas and green, unspoiled nature, the Covid crime is in full reveal there. The local government boasts on their very website that “…over 95% of locals are ‘fully vaccinated’.
I don’t believe there is any way they could have actually achieved that, but it is a fact that to way too many tourists, this is a strong selling point. In other words, they are just as dumb as they were when the whole clownshow started.
It truly would drive one to drink…

It still baffles me that anyone old enough to have noticed the weather over many years would think that there’s some sort of “new” / “catastrophe” going on with the weather. It’s been doing the same thing it’s been doing for eons!
The difference is now we have a global sensor network, satellite imagery and a reasonable understanding of weather patterns. None of which existed a century ago, let alone a thousand years. And we have an enthusiastic weather bureaucracy always eager to get attention. So hurricanes get “discovered” much earlier than they used to. Before the Galveston hurricane of 1900 the Cuban forecasters and observers were ignored by the US Weather bureau, ships would report storms after they made it to port, if they made it. If not, well, must have been a storm. Until the late 1990s there were no weather stations in Siberia, very few in China, nothing over the Pacific. Basically over half the Earth had no ground observations. Yet somehow we just know the Earth is warming from some arbitrary date and temperature. Cherry picked to maximize hysteria.
But but but the temperature here has risen by at least 50 degrees in just the last 6 months! At this rate it will be 130 degrees out by next January!!

What Covid and the Climate Change narrative have in common is that both are non-disprovable hypotheses. Neither can be empirically observed but are predicated on us having to trust the wisdom of the “experts” who, we are told, have special means for quantifying and seeing what no one else can see. It’s basically a game of “who do you trust?” That both narratives are fallacies and religious dogmas–and not “science” as the experts claim–is proven by the fact that questioning them is strictly forbidden, despite questioning being integral to the scientific method.

The claim about masks that explains some peoples fury towards non maskers was that your mask protected others, not yourself. They whipped out this neat psycho trick after it was pointed out about how the weave of the mask cloth was larger than the covid molecules. They said well now wait the mask isn’t for you! You wear it as a courtesy to others. If you care about others. Because you see, you might sneeze and expel dangerous droplets or cough and these large droplets can spread for 10 yards in every direction. Eww!! So wear your mask to protect others. IIRC, then President Joe Biden even tried to claim at one point that getting vaxxed was one’s patriotic duty.

And in the state of Oregon, the Democrat supermajority legislature wants public schools in the state to have a “Climate change curriculum”, which would likely damage children who still go to public school for life. If this demented idea goes through, I foresee future generations of children propagandized into thinking that their mere existence CAUSES climate change and that they have a duty to DIE to “Saaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaave the planet”, given the absolute nonsense being peddled for years that CO2 is a pollutant.

There is no reforming of the Oregon-Washington propaganda schools. Hence the only option is to leave either taking your kids to private school or home school or move to another state. As we vote with our feet they will feel the effects of lost revenue. But they won’t gone down without a fight, they will use the bond process to pay their salaries to drive homeowners out of their homes via usury property tax increases. Until then, schools in Oregon and Washington are on a building boom with $60-80MM a pop being shoved down the throats of homeowners via bond measures.
My brother just retired as a teacher in North Idaho. Anyone with a brain has taken their kids out of public schools and went charter school or home school. North Idaho has to fund their operations via tax levy bonds every year. It is vetoed by the public since many are not part of that corrupt system. Of course, the public schools cut programs to punish the parents first with cuts to football, band and other sports but this tactic is not working like it use to. People had enough and now North Idaho is forced to cut their bloated staffs and let teachers go (in some cases good riddance). No more $80MM new schools for you.

The “surprise” attack on Pearl Harbor where U.S. intel had broken the Japanese codes months earlier. The Gulf of Tonkin incident that was made from whole cloth, per the deathbed confession of Robert McNamara who was Sec. of Defense at the time. Iraqi troops throwing babies from incubators in Kuwait.
