What gets me is when the single lane expands into 2 lanes for a 1/4 mile or so for passing, and the Clover, who was driving slow before, suddenly wants to speed up at this time. Then when it narrows back to a single lane, he slows down again.
Death penalty is the only rational punishment for this behavior.

Even if the single lane feeds into the right lane (vs becoming the left lane like in your example), most people still seem to veer into the left lane anyway….. At least there is a road here where that happens.
I pass on the right far more often than the left. Thankfully legal (but not recommended) here in Indiana.
If we are going to be issuing traffic tickets WHY CAN’T it be for left lane hogs? It is on the books most places but rarely if ever enforced.
Oh….I wish the State Troopers/Sheriffs WOULD! Nail these left lane luggers with a massive, $1,000 dollar fine, and suspend their license for 6 months. And if they protest, make it a year suspension and a $10,000 fine. But….I think Congress will get honest, and U.S. Supreme Court Justice Kentaji Brown Jackson might figure out what a real woman is first.
I had a clover not pass a mail truck with his hazards on this morning. I gave him the first time, a garbage truck was in the other lane, but it was stop and go for a min or two, and the guy in the old benz cdi was just gonna follow this guy like a mindless sheep, so I cut them both off
If the Mail truck didn’t want to be passed, he’d have turned off his hazards. It’s not my fault I’m paying attention
Towards the end of your video appears the other Clover issue, messing up traffic flow.
If you had not gotten past him and some other slowpokes, you’d miss the light, as is you made the first one barely via the yellow. At your proper and correct pace you made the following intersection lights easily, which is how it’s designed – timed for traffic flow without stopping. If it’s designed correctly. And if people would stop driving like total morons.
My mom pointed this out to me as a kid in the sixties. “These lights are timed, we’re first in line at this one so I’ll get rolling quickly to 30MPH and we’ll get all the way thru town without stopping.” Yep, each one blinked to green as we approached.
If you have to pass on the right, do so. In Michigan, it is legal to pass on the right as long as there are three lanes or more in each direction.
I would pass on the right, even with only two lanes…

I’ve taken to use the middle turn lane on occasions to pass, one day I’ll get my due a reckless driving ticket. When some idiot is doing 27 in a 40, straight road clear day & oblivious to everything it’s too much.
Same here. The geniuses decided to take a 4 lane road and make it 2 lanes, bike lanes on either side, and a fat turning lane. Stooopid. I pass people all the time in that turning lane.
Oh yea, bike lanes in town – not signage marked, just that white line. Of course and good luck if you turn right with out seeing the spandex racer hauling up the bike lane and he plows into you. I’m looking for pedestrians at the corners not a bike racing up my right side.
There is one stretch of road in these parts where the DOT put a middle turn lane in, with one lane in either direction. I think the thinking was for better traffic flow. In doing so, they solved one problem and created another, in that now no one can pass. It is hilarious to see. For there will be that ONE vehicle going well under the speed limit, as I count the numerous vehicles behind that one clover, and no one can pass now, with that stupid turn lane. Even more ironic, is that no one knew how to use the turn lane (basics are hard for some) that first Winter, as vehicles would subsequently be parked half in and out of the turn lane sitting there waiting to turn, with vehicles behind them trying to drive off the road to the right to get around them. You just cannot win in these parts.
