Trump may truly not understand why inflation is not down. Trump may be confused that a decrease in the rate of inflation is not an actual decrease in prices.
If you all remember, Trump’s former Sec. of State, Rex Tillerson (CEO Exxon) said Trump reads nothing. As far as I know Trump has never read a book, or even authored one.
It may come as a surprise to the host and guest, who both read alot, that the glorious reader does not read at all.
If inflation was 5% under Biden and now 3% under Trump, prices are still going up but under a decreased rate. In Trump’s mind, however, that means prices are decreasing.
Note: the BLS inflation rate is probably understated, that is why shadow stats website was put up. It is not like you can trust the official inflation rate, which is used to set the COLA rate for Social Security checks.
