The news says – for whatever that’s worth – that the obviously imminent attack on Iran (on behalf of Israel) has been called off. For the moment, at least.
Why?
Well, one answer that suggests itself is that the Iranians have the means to defend their country. That is to say, they have the means to hit back – hard. Perhaps hard enough to make it not worth attacking Iran. This is why North Korea has not been attacked. Everyone understands that North Korea has at least a couple of nuclear weapons and for that reason could hit back – hard.
The North Koreans get left alone.
It is possible the Iranians have the same or similar capabilities – and that is why the attack on Iran that seemed like it was going to occur any minute now has been (apparently) put on hiatus, at least for now. Perhaps the thinking in Tel Avi – whoops, Washington – is that maybe the ongoing effort to reinstall the the Shah – in the person of the old Shah’s son – will work if given a bit more time and then the messiness of actually attacking Iran – and Iran hitting back – can be avoided.
Of course, if the Shah’s son is installed it will be the same thing, effectively, as America having attacked Iran on behalf of Israel, without the mess. The Iranians will find themselves occupied by the agent of foreign interests, very much as the people of America find themselves occupied by foreign interests and their agent, Donald Trump.
One hopes the Iranians can hold out. It is a very strange thing to find oneself rooting for the Islamic Republic of Iran – or North Korea, for that matter. But such regimes serve a valuable purpose in that they are a counter to the hegemonic lusts of certain interests, headquartered in Washington and Tel Aviv.
Or is it the reverse?
It makes no meaningful difference because we all know it amounts to the same thing.
The good news – again, how strange! – is that the attack has been called off, or so it seems for now. Which almost certainly means the Iranians do have the means to hit back – hard – and thank God for that. It is good that anyone can hit back – because it is the only thing that stands athwart the complete victory of the interests that aim to control the world. Anything that stalls that is a good thing. So this may be a very good thing. 
The interests – the tools of the interests, such as the pudgy little colonel who itches for wars to be fought by others – wail with affronted unction, which is a sure sign of good news. It would be extremely good news if more “regimes” – enemies of the interests are always styled “regimes,” as if the interests themselves were not also in control of their own “regimes” – had the means to hit back, hard. The home of those interests has long enjoyed the perks of that capability, which, of course, they screech other interests must never be permitted to have.
Natirally. For essentially the same reason the government doesn’t want you or me to have guns but wants many guns for itself.

When the old Soviet Union was still around, it stymied the United States – just as the United States stymied the Soviet Union. Each had the means to hit back, hard – which made hitting (in the first place) suicidally stupid. It was not exactly ideal to live with the threat of Mutually Assured Destruction, as it was called. But it did prevent mutually assured destruction.
Maybe that’s what the Iranians just prevented – via dawning awareness in certain quarters that they are quite capable of hitting back, hard.

How do we apply that same criteria to America’s actions? We’ve already invaded several countries, killed millions as a result. To me, that is worse than threats of attack from a backwards nation that knows it would cease to exist if it were to carry out its threats.

That’s why I doubted the imminent attack story in the first place. Because Iranian (Russian) AA painted Israel’s F-35Is last time around, it was guaranteed that they would splash at least a few American aircraft, and there was absolutely nothing in theater that could pick them up. If you think losing jet aircraft would be bad for Trump’s favorability, just think how bad having downed airmen drown because he was too impulsive.
That said, his closest match for Presidential use of military is Reagan. The lightning raid on Grenada/Venezuela, pulling out of Beirut/Yemen, increased military spending, the “accidental” strike on the empty French embassy in Libya/the cruise missiles targeting vacant buildings in Syria, and so forth.
I don’t buy it. If there were an attack in the works, the absolute last thing anyone even passingly interested in OPSEC would do is print it in the newspapers. The papers are being used here to sound the warning about a war because it’s the first step in the negotiation.

I’m somewhat amazed at the restraint of both Russia and Iran in the face of Washington’s provocations. I have no doubt that Russia has the capability to obliterate Keeev if it wants to, yet it has chosen a grind-it-out war of attrition to retain the Russified eastern provinces instead.
Same thing with Iran. Whether Iran has a deployable nuke at the ready is uncertain, but it certainly has the capability to sink U.S. 5th Fleet vessels in the Gulf. It certainly has the ability to destroy al-Udeid airbase in Qatar (which is why ZOG evacuated personnel from the base last week) and inflict serious damage on Sunni cities like Doha in Gulf states that are allied with the U.S.
And of course Iran inflicted far more damage than expected on “the Promised Land” in the missile exchange last year, which prompted Bibi to demand that the ZOG military bail him out and bomb the enrichment sites. It’s pretty clear that Iran could potentially overwhelm the Israeli missile defenses, even with conventionally-armed missiles… allowing “Amalek” to seriously damage or wipe out the “Land of Milk and Honey” this time around.
So it appears that Tel Aviv and ZOG are focusing on the color-revolution strategy, which has worked pretty well in other places like Ukraine.

It is quite possible to wreck and impoverish a country with air power. It is equally impossible to conquer it without lots of troops on the ground. Historically it works if the conquering empire takes the wealth of the conquered and enslaves it, ideally under soft conditions using local quislings to govern and keep the locals from being too riled.
What Russia is doing in Ukraine is modern war, denial technologies are so advanced that safe spaces to operate from are very far from the alleged front. So they are using artillery and air power to slowly advance while conserving their troops. Against this backdrop, the entire corrupted “western” world has bled itself dry of weapons and is now frantically replacing them with more expensive ones.
The last little Israel /Iran spat was a probe. They found out that Iran wasn’t a soft target at all. So for the moment, there will be ongoing threats, bluster, and fomenting rebellion. Unfortunately, it’s costing us to waste these resources.
Let’s not forget Yemen, which made a deal not to attack USA military ships. THAT one action speaks VOLUMES as the USA has no real defense against missiles, especially those directed against ships.

I have seen a combination of factors attributed to the delay/abandonment of attacking Iran.
1) Military request due to unavailable forces to engage in air protection.
2) Request of Arab states and apparently Israel, but for different reasons
3) Efforts of a coalition lead by JD Vance
At least there are some people in the Trump orbit that understand naked aggression against Iran is stupid, and the poll numbers reflect a massive lack of support. 4% pro according to one poll.
And is anyone buying the BS reasoning that we “care” so much about the people of Iran? If so, why do we impose sanctions with the intent of making life terrible enough that the people rise up in protest? It never works out that way.
It’s hard to swallow the idea that Iran killing hundreds of citizens [possibly encouraged by Mossad and CIA] is an affront to decency while our good buddy Israel killing 70,000 civilians is just another day at the office.
Unfortunately that’s why they will probably try a false flag next. A high profile attack on something like the Super Bowl with “impeccable intelligence of Iranian support” would fit the bill.

In 2008 Conley spectacularly snookered the Democrats and narrowly won their primary election. After the primary, when the Democrats got wise to him, they denounced him and largely supported Graham. Of course, the Republicans wouldn’t support Conley because he had apostatized and turned his back on God’s Own Party, that execrable collective to which they have eternally plighted their miserable political troth.
