Here’s the latest reader question, along with my reply!

Bear asks: Which Dodge model and year would have the mechanically injected Cummins turbodiesel straight six? I will be gratified with your help. Thanks.

My reply: The 5.9 liter Cummins in-line six diesel with mechanical injection was used in Ram trucks from 1989-1997. In ’98, electronic injection replaced the mechanical system. Comprehensive info about Ram/Cummins diesel engines is available here.
