Why I Quit Rumbling

After four-plus years of trying, I’ve quit Rumbling.

Rumble – the “free speech” alternative to YouTube – is just that and it’s why I tried. Some will remember that, five years ago, I got de-monetized and excised from YouTube because I did not toe the COVID line. Among other heretical things, I took videos of the bodies not stacking up at the local regional hospital and posted these on YouTube. That triggered the de-monetizing. Which triggered me leaving. I figured I’d try Rumbling because what the Hell, right?

And Rumble – true to its word – did not suppress my speech. But it did suppress my earnings. After nearly five years of posting videos almost daily over there, I have earned all of $40 and some cents. This despite all of my videos being “monetized” (ha) and some of them having been viewed more than 10,000 times.

So I’m back on YouTube and hoping it wont be Repeat City, though it probably will. We are in the midst of a pleasant-ish “free speech” interregnum that is likely to last as long as the integrity of an M&M in your pocket on a hot summer day.

But it’s better than Rumbling for nothing!

  1. I’d be happy just to have a platform on which I could say whatever I want, and people could view it, unfettered. If such still exists on Rumble, that is a great thing. To hell with monetization! I’ve been thinking of starting a channel, and if I do, I will choose not to monetize it, if doing so can spare my viewers from having to endure commercials. Free speech in the arena of tech companies is a rare commodity. It’s a miracle if there is still a place where it truly exists. I’d rather not give a vehicle to Tom Selleck to hawk reverse mortgages, or to drug companies or Ikea to spam us with their “diverse” multi-racial families, or Target and their tranny models. To be able to broadcast for free is pretty sweet. Expecting to be paid for it is like looking a gift horse in the mouth.
I’d rather be on the free speech platform, than helping to enrich the non-free speech YT/Google, even if I could make a few bucks off of the latter. YT gets worse and worse. There’s now a whole litany of mundane innocent words that you can’t even say, or which will cause you to be demonetized. So if you’re going to be demonetized, why not just stay where you can at least be free, and help to prop-up that alternative, rather than helping the enemy?
I’ll remain glad to watch your videos wherever they may be though! Voices of sanity like yours are so rare…..just don’t fall into the trap of self-censorship that platforms like YT, with their monetization encourage.

  2. I just had my profile banned from YouTube for making comments they don’t like. I can’t log into it under my current Google profile to just view videos. It’s outright censorship, and it’s un-American. I don’t believe that big tech are private companies; especially when we have the government at the state and federal level working to eliminate anonymity. I also believe that big tech is in bed with the government to trap us all into a digital prison. Sooner or later, more of us is going to be censored off the web for wrongthink.

    • I know, Chris –

It’s all pointless – and maddening. I tried for years to get people who were allowed to see my posts on X to come here instead. Or come anywhere else that allows free speech. Nope. They just keep on Tweeting. I can’t stand it anymore.

      • Eric, we don’t need people like that. People who care more for entertainment than for freedom. Those are the people who ask “How high?” when told to jump. The people who use their real names, and even “verify” their accounts with their driver’s license and a photo. They have no interest in liberty- not their own; and certainly not ours.

        • Amen, Arthur –

If it ever comes down to having to “verify” in order to use YouTibe, I will no longer use it. And you can be assured I will never demand anyone “verify” to use EPautos.

  3. 10,000 x 0.004 USD = 40 USD

The place must be run by crooks and liars.

Prison life has to pay more.

    Are you ready to rumble?

There are 428 photos of Trump over at Getty Images.

A few have Trump and Epstein in the same photo.

One photo is of a protester holding a sign that read ‘Make America America Again’.

    37 000 000 000 000/3300 = 112 121 212 121 Troy ounces of gold to satisfy the national debt for the United States.

    3.4757576e+9 metric tons.

3 475 757 600 metric tons of gold to pay off the 37 trillion of debt.

There have been 205,000 metric tons of gold mined since the beginning of everybody stealing everybody blind of the stuff.

Maybe there’s an asteroid of pure gold out there that weighs one trillion metric tons. Just claim it, don’t have to mine it, rehypothecate the thing, just use the pure gold asteroid as collateral.

It can be an ETF, Asteroid Gold Reserve, AGR.

    Don’t get any funny ideas.

Just say you discovered a pure gold asteroid, doesn’t matter if there is one, you can lie and say there is. There might be one pure gold in the asteroid belt, just have to pick the right one.

You’ve got the gold, maybe, you maybe can make the rules.

I’m beginning to think that Putin is holding the cards, not Trump.

The featured sh!tshow must go on.

    • I hear you, Dan – but it gets tiring. I’ve been playing games with these “social media” outlets for five-plus years now and I’m at the point of being done with all of them. I stopped making any effort to post comments on X or reply to comments on X about a month ago and it has been a relief, honestly. I know I will never break free of their algorithm because I’m not willing to play their games. It is like ending a toxic relationship. You fee better after.

      • If I were an enterprising coder, I would set up an app or some sort of platform where you can upload your video simultaneously to all video platforms at once.

Alas, I’m not a coder, but I have to assume somebody has created something like this already.

    • Posting beyond quick little comments such as this can be a time-consuming pain in the arse. Uploading a video and having to check all the boxes, make sure all the timing is right and such are just hoops and hurdles that seemingly never end. It’s like trying to blow out those relighting candles on a birthday cake. I don’t have the patience to go through all that crap.

  4. This is, sadly, the ‘chicken and egg’ situation.

Lots of people were ‘canceled’ by Facebook, YouTube and Twitter without warning and with no recourse, for posting ‘misinformation’ about Covid. In case of Facebook, some of those were communities with thousands of members.

But because almost all of the sheeple continue to use these despicable ‘social media’ giants, with most of them not even being aware – or not caring – that there actually ARE numerous freedom and privacy-respecting alternatives available, the vast majority of ‘the money’ remains where it is. And the content creators are therefore either forced to have their earnings sharply curtailed, or they must put up with censorship and the constant possibility of seeing their content, and all the work they put into it, wiped.

With several countries now having passed, or about to pass, laws requiring a digital ID to even access social media sites, this will only get worse. And even private sites like EPautos are not safe, because the company hosting the site is able to pull its services at any time. Those private sites that use Google Adsense have long been subject to pressure from the ‘Don’t Be Evil’ company regarding what content they can publish on their own web property, lest they have all those advertising revenues disappear.

The only viable alternative to this is decentralized web, like Nostr and/or IPFS. But it will take a long time before that space can become a viable source of income for most.

    • You’re right, John –

But at the end of the day, I gave Rumble four-plus years and God-knows-how-much “content.” At least on YouTube I might get some return. Yes, of course – I’ll likely get cancelled again. But what other choice is there? I tire of banging my head against the wall.

  5. I left a very un-PC comment on a YouTube video the other day–a video from an unknown YouTuber that only got four views. And (apparently) because I used the word “scamdemic,” the comment was deleted by YT. Those jerks are still censoring like crazy, so don’t hold your breath, Eric.

  6. They probably don’t have the money, Eric.

Rumble needs ad revenue, and I’ll bet there aren’t enough “Superbeets”, “Favorite Pillow” and gold-investment companies in existence to give you much in the way of compensation.

And while 10,000 views is likely many more view than I would ever get for a video, the way I understand it, it’s really the number of ads viewed that gets you paid. I’m not sure I’ve ever seen an ad on one of your videos.

I’d suggest that, at least, you should maintain a presence on Rumble. Keep in mind that YouTube (Google/Alphabet) are the ones actually being paid the big-bucks. They just give you a kick-back.

  7. ‘So I’m back on YouTube and hoping it wont be Repeat City, though it probably will.’ — eric

Of course it will. YouTube is owned by Evil Google, which has deep ties to the Deep State.

Under Google’s dickhead managers, who have hired dozens of Unit 8200 Israeli war criminals to police sensitive content, no content is really safe from censorship except maybe cute kitten videos. Just don’t have a stray ‘I support Palestine Action’ placard leaning up against the garage wall.

Ongoing antitrust lawsuits may force Evil Google to divest its Chrome browser and its Google Ad Manager. These would be small steps in the right direction. But no one is even talking about compelling Evil Google to sell off YouTube.

It was an absolute travesty that Evil Google was allowed to buy YouTube in October 2006. Since then, I have shunned YouTube like day-old dogshit. YouTube’s management is a group of inflamed assholes, reporting to egregious dickheads.
