The ’70s sitcom Happy Days was a big hit for awhile – and then it jumped the shark. The term is both literal and figurative. The show’s star, Fonzie – who was depicted as a kind of cleaned-up Marlon Brando – literally (well, in the show) attempted to water-ski over a shark while wearing his leather motorcycle jacket. It was at precisely this moment that Happy Days jumped the shark. It was no longer worth watching.
The state of Israel may have just jumped the shark.
The looming attack on Iran on behalf of that state’s (i.e., Israel’s) interests at the obvious expense of America’s being the equivalent of Fonzi’s jump.
It’s no longer just after Word War II.
More finely, the state of Israel is no longer regarded by many – especially those under 30 who are too young to have much if any memory of the war in Iraq – as a kind of refugee state for the beleaguered diaspora, because it stopped being that decades ago. The state of Israel is the only state in the region that possesses not just modern nuclear weapons but scores of them. Also modern submarines, missiles and aircraft capable of delivering them. Its cries of weakness – that it is only defending itself! – ring as hollow as the cries of Stop Resisting! emanating from a gang of body-armored thug cops delivering a beating. To a cripple. 
This state admits to having killed at least 70,000 people in Gaza – and claims they were all “Hamas terrorists.” You know, because the toddlers grow up to be them and the old people probably were them and the women gave birth to them. You know, like those old black and white photos from way back showing the women, children and old people being prepared for the box car ride to the East.
It’s beyond words.
Americans – excepting those such as Mike Huckabee – tire of Israel’s interests being conflated with their interests.. They are not the same thing. It is difficult for most Americans to divine how it could be in America’s interests – i.e., in their interests – to launch not just a few missiles this time but maybe a full-scale war against Iran.
But they’re developing nuclear weapons!
It’s become tiresome.
And so what if they are? Israel has them, after all. It takes a lot of chutzpah to have scores of them – and to have acquired them contrary to and in violation of international agreements, the same ones being used to “make a case” for attacking Iraq – and at the same time, screech like a frightened woman over the chance that Iran might have one or two of them, which would make it capable of defending itself against an attack.
But they are religious fanatics!
That, too, has lost its puissance. Zionists are also fanatics – of the worst sort. Unlike the Muslims, who are (in some cases) religious fanatics, the Zionists are political fanatics unbound by the constraints that keep the religious in check to some extent, out of fear of God and possible repercussions in the hereafter.
“Netanyhau,” for instance, is not religious but he is extremely Zionist – which means Israel uber alles. There are remarkable similarities binding Zionism and National Socialism, including the stated goal of both being a greater (that is, ever expanding) state bound by a specific community of people, who regard themselves as chosen and everyone else not-so-much.
“Netanyahu” is placed within air fingers quote marks to make a point about his lack of Semitism, as Tucker Carlson pointed out to Huckabee in a recent interview. “Netanyahu’s” family origins are not in Palestine but in eastern Europe. How then has he (or any other person of non-Semitic descent) got a “right” to the land taken from the Palestinians – who actually are Semitic and have a claim to the land, having lived there as a people continuously for thousands of years – in the name of Jewish people? This latter is very important, too. The “Netanyahus” of eastern Europe have bearded themselves as Jewish, in order to milk the sympathy many people had for Jewish people. But it is precisely because of this ploy that sympathy for the state of Israel is on the wane.
They tire of being denounced as haters of people who happen to be Jewish because the do not like what the state of Israel is doing.
People have figured out what’s going on; how could they not? It has become so obnoxiously blatant that only persons utterly addled by the Darby-Scofield mind virus – such as Huckabee – are still buying the Our Greatest Ally rap.
If this war on Iran – unprovoked, unjustified by any interest Americans have – is launched, Americans will know exactly why and in whose interests is is waged. If it gets bad – for Americans, this time – it will also probably get bad for the state of Israel and anyone in this country who continues to carry water for it.

So Luther threw Book of James out of the Bible.
(2) Venial sin, which doesn’t exclude from Kingdom/heaven: AI: “sins that merely wound charity.” “Anyone who sets aside one of the least of these commands and teaches others accordingly will be called least in the kingdom of heaven” (Matt 5:19)

I generally stay away from religious stuff, but I have always wondered about the Original Sin thing. How is it that I or any other person living now is morally responsible for what this couple supposedly did many thousands of years ago? It seems wrong to me to assign guilt to me or any other person now living because we were born defective – with “sin” – because that couple “sinned” all those thousands of years ago. If I can’t help myself because I was born with a “sin nature,” whose fault is that? I had no say in whether I was born let alone the legacy I inherited…

I remember the movie – not the TV show! I also remember Trapper John; MASH spin-off!
Because of the way the syndication company sold M*A*S*H it was on the air 10 times a day across many stations.
Back then the way a syndicated show was distributed was through the US mail. They’d send reels of 16mm film or 2″ quadriplex videotape around to all the stations who carried the show, in a way much like those old brown envelopes with a list of names were used to send interoffice mail before “reply to all” became a thing. Because M*A*S*H was so popular the syndication company offered a deal to the stations that they could buy an entire library of the series and air whatever they wanted. Many stations took them up on the deal and just used the library as filler whenever. They also began editing episodes, either for local taste or to add a few more advertisements.
At the peak, I could watch M*A*S*H on 3 different stations, 5 times a day. It was an after school staple, coming on after Tom and Jerry and WKRP reruns. Usually two episodes back to back, then the news and then sometimes after the network news from 7:00 – 7:30. At 11:30 the ABC affiliate sometimes ran it up against Carson.

The Old Testament is patent hate literature. It sickens me every time I see a politician sworn into office with his hand resting on that filthy, murderous screed.
It’s way too early to say … but I suspect that Israel’s destruction of Gaza set in motion the end of all three Abrahamic religions. Organized Christianity not only stood by silently while Israel bombed churches and killed babies, but also the United States — with its nominal Christian majority population — financed the slaughter and supplied the armaments.
Of what use is a religion which cannot even summon the moral authority to condemn atrocious evil? Already fading for the past couple of generations, the cult in question is now on the fast lane to the scrap heap. It was put to the test, and it grossly failed. Jesus wept.
I have read the Bible a few times up thru Judges and there are some fantastic stories there. In Catholic school we were told not to read the Bible because we were not intelligent enough to understand those stories. We needed the learned priest and sisters for interpretation. Now in adulthood I can understand why. Those stories are filled with sex, murder, war and the gamut of human emotions. I don’t take the Bible literally because there are too many instances of magic and superstition but those stories are about human nature and presumably about the past history of a certain tribe.
Apparently there are millions of people in the USSofA who believe. These maybe our neighbors, citizens and fellow voters and no one will change their minds because they have unshakeable “Faith”. One can only imagine what it would be like growing up in the Mormon faith and approaching the age of reason.
Protestantism established the concept of jewish supremacy over Christianity and was a major mistake Protestant leaders made that we are paying for to this day.
Relying on the Biblical “Old Testament” for reference cemented the jews as being our supremacist “elder brothers”, Christianity being subordinated to judaism. The “god” of judaism is a vengeful “god” frequently being required to exact punishment to keep “his people” (jews) in line.
Contrast that with the welcoming God of Christianity that understands that humans are imperfect, sinners, but have the ability and desire to achieve redemption and salvation.
Christianity went off the rails when it did not divorce the Old Testament from the “new covenant” in the New Testament.
Even Martin Luther spoke out on the jews as being Christianity’s mortal enemy who would do anything to suborn Christianity.
“Sola Scriptura” is a flawed concept claiming that the Bible is the “inspired word of God” despite being written by MEN with their own political and social agendas. A good example is the “rights of kings and nobles” in which Christians are commanded to follow the dictates of their leaders. Ever hear of “prima noctus”? Under the King James Version of the Bible, Christians would be commanded to follow such a vile practice.
It is Roman Catholicism that established the world’s modern-day universities, hospitals, and human care organizations, NOT Protestants.
You see, Protestants differ from Catholics as they do not believe that temporal “good works” have any bearing on salvation–a major fault. Even if “good works” do not have spiritual necessity, they can’t hurt and can make the world a better place.
Since “good works”are not necessary for salvation, a Protestant can be a ne-er-do-well person who has grievously sinned and abused others all of his life, and then on his deathbed profess his belief in Jesus Christ and will automatically be “saved”. I have a problem with that…
Let’s move on to usury. Banned by the Catholic Church, Protestants cheerfully accepted usury as it was a vehicle for commerce which enabled the success of the jews as well.
In the days of the “robber barons”, the united States of America was largely successful due to the Protestant (lack of) ethics, most builders of industry raking in millions in profits while ignoring the basic needs of those who made their success possible by their hard work. It was common to see these Protestant “captains of industry” do their damnedest to pay their employees as little as possible while raking in massive profits benefiting only themselves.
Protestants still consider anyone who cannot be successful in business as suffering from a moral failing of their own doing, not due to outside circumstances.
Catholic doctrine requires business owners to pay their workers fairly–not below subsistence wages. It is a sin not to do so. There is no comparable demand in Protestantism.
These Protestant “captains of industry” attempted to redeem themselves by establishing “foundations” (which guarded their wealth, making it tax exempt) and indirectly countering their own Protestant belief that “good works” were not necessary for salvation.
They always pleaded poverty to their employees while living grand lives themselves.
This contributed to the rise of labor unions, which at first, were brutally suppressed.
The Protestant Reformation resulted in the legalization of usury, the establishment of the debt based financial system and central banks which has enabled the usurers to accumulate so much wealth and power that they can impose their NWO.
The Reformation resulted in cartel capitalism, communism, socialism, fascism, two world wars which resulted in the decimation of the European peoples by the jews and WASPS acting as muscle for the bankers, and various genocides and the dystopian difficulties that are a part of modern civilization.
That being said, Catholics are not “off the hook” either. The sale of indulgences (a supposed “fast track” to salvation) was an egregious disgusting abuse of power. A sad fact is that “indulgences” in the Catholic Church still exist today. As divorce is prohibited by the Catholic Church, indulgences are used by Catholic clergy to declare annulment, that “a valid marriage never existed” between a Catholic couple, even if those who seek annulment have been married for decades. The larger the “contribution”, the faster the decision on annulment.
The “Vatican II Ecumenical Council” was a power grab by jews and Protestants which was largely successful in crippling the Catholic Church. Fortunately, there are Catholic sects that subscribe to pre-Vatican II principles, despite attempts by the “Novus Ordo” Church to wipe them out.
Protestants are good people who have brought much good to civilization. However, Protestant acceptance of and deference to jewish control has done much to damage our civilization.

You make some good points.I lost my faith in Christianity and man made gods a long while ago. There is a God (supreme being) but our human minds are just too puny to understand who or what that is. Just like we can’t see the micro and macro worlds unless we use a telescope and microscope we would need a tool to see the universe and creation for what it actually is. I guess most humans want to believe in something out there. I lost my faith in most of the rulers we have today. Yes the Bible does have some good rules for getting along with our fellow humans but to actually believe that a God spoke to a stone age people a few thousand years ago beggars belief.
All I can say is that if we actually find out what our fellow humans think outside of physics, chemistry and biology we would be amazed.
Maybe God can only speak to a people when they cannot photograph/video-record Him? Perhaps a Great War will occur soon, which will surprise no one here I’m sure, which will wipe out all electronics. Or just a massive solar flare. And that will put us back into a new stone age and He will speak again. And our universe’s supreme being isn’t a white-robed man, of course, but like you said He is something we cannot comprehend. An ‘energy’ of sorts.

I look at the Bible not as history but as a story of an ancient tribe living in a brutal unforgiving world/time.
The OT actually takes into account competition. Competition for land, women, power. There will always be competition in this world because we are human animals and resources are difficult to acquire and limited to a certain extent. What differentiates us from the lower animals is our power of reasoning that to helps us to survive and prosper.
Th NT however strikes me as utopian and will never work on earth.
Try The Essene Gospel of Peace Europeasant. As stories go it’s much easier to digest than the Bible. Was written so you don’t need no go between. In some ways it’s the template for Deep Ecology. Basically love God, love your neighbor. It also tracks with Hermeticism and Alchemy. Stories of Jesus life and teaching told from street level on how the divine is found by returning to the source. No fire and brimstone, no people more special than others. Like I said, no need for a go between. Not full of contradictions and intellectual dilemmas like many different iterations of the Bible. Although all the experts and learned leaders say The Gospel of Peace is made up fiction, that isn’t a strike against it for me. Just look at who is saying it’s untrue. Gatekeepers who make a living off keeping their flocks in the dark. If same the church that curated and collated the Bible had had its way, none of us commoners would even know how to read.
Nothing against the Bible from me. I’ve struggled through most of it and it contains some timeless wisdom and a message on the life, death, and re-birth of Jesus. I recently obtained an Ethiopian Bible which really opened my eyes about the motives of the editors of what we today call the Bible. They left out so much, why? For me, that calls their very integrity into question. Why would the story not be laid down and experienced through multiple POVs? Versus versions from authors only approved by the ‘officialdom’ tribe. Kind of like the narrative engineers of today. They wont allow any thought that strays outside their social constructs.
