Hate Speech (Again)

One of the reasons people voted for Trump was because they thought were voting against the idea that the government should have the power to suppress free speech by playing the “hate” speech card. That card has historically been played by the Left, which also likes to impugn people’s motives in order to avoid having to deal with their questions.

Now it has been played by Trump’s attorney general, Pam Bondi. The same Bondi who made a big show of the Epstein thing, which became a no-show thing.

Yesterday, the Republican’s answer to Nina Jankowicz (some will remember Biden’s attempt to create her Mistress of Misinfromation) declared herself to be the new federal-level pursuer of  . . . “hate” speech. Which she defined as any speech the government regarded as “hateful.”

Holy Tautology!

Here’s Bondi-Jankowicz:

“There’s free speech and then there’s hate speech, and there is no place, especially now, especially after what happened to Charlie, in our society . . . We will absolutely target you, go after you, if you are targeting anyone with hate speech.”

Italics added.

No. There is either free speech – or there isn’t. There’s no in-between speech. You are either free to say or write what is on your mind or you not free to say it. This includes saying or writing things someone might regard as “hateful.” To say otherwise is to give anyone the power to take away your right to speak and write freely; all they have to do is say that what you said or wrote is “hateful.” Which means they do not like what you said or wrote. Well, too bad. Grow up. Grow a pair. No one has a right to not be offended. That is as treacly as it is tyrannical.

Bondi seems to agree with the Left that speech – when “hateful” – is violence. This is exactly – and ironically – the thing Charlie Kirk regularly ridiculed (for which he was derided as  . . . “hateful”).

What is wrong with these people?

Bondi – and Trump – that is. He hired this woman. Why hasn’t he fired her? This says a lot about Trump, doesn’t it? He said he would “drain the swamp” – meaning the creeps in DC who think it’s their royal right to shred our rights, for which they have complete and utter contempt. Yet here is this woman babbling about “hate” speech and that she wants to “go after” – that is, sic the goons of the federal government upon – anyone the government decides has said or written something “hateful.”

This is to free speech what property taxes are to home ownership.

Bondi, who is a lawyer and so ought to know better, seems unable to distinguish between speech some may not like and actions that cause harm. As in tangible rather upset feelings harm. The law is supposed to protect speech even when it is not liked – even if it hurts feelings -because if not then “free speech” is a sick joke, like the right to vote in the old Soviet Union. That which is conditional – the conditions laid down by the government – is no longer a right.

Charlie Kirk’s murder was obviously a despicable, criminal act – and the person (or persons) responsible are criminals. But saying something unkind about Kirk – while perhaps “hateful” in the bad manners sense – is about as “criminal” as not paying what is styled your “fair share” of taxes.

A long time ago, John Adams tried to criminalize speech he didn’t like, particularly of himself. Adams, an educated man, used more educated language. He styled the speech he did not like “seditious,” which has a more adult mouth feel than “hate” speech.

When he came to his senses, he walked it back – admitting to his friend Thomas Jefferson that he was wrong to have done that.

But Bondi is no John Adams and Trump is certainly no Thomas Jefferson. But then, America is not what it once was, either. It is now an additional “crime” if a murderer “hated” is victim. As if that made any difference. Would the murdered victim rest easier in his grave if he knew his killer didn’t have anything against him personally? How about the piling on of duplicate charges? The supposed shooter who took out Kirk faces state and federal prosecution. Of a piece with the Supreme Court saying that a farmer who doesn’t sow/sell crops but only uses them for his  own purposes is “affecting interstate commerce.”

Many people who voted for Trump begin to regret it.

They thought they were voting against Nina Jankowicz – among other things. And now they see they got her just the same – excepting the bottled blonde hair toss.

  1. The term “hate speech” is one more of the many dumbed down linguistic terms the left has forced on us. They obviously consider people to be no smarter than 5 year olds.

  2. Be-fucking- bizarre:

“Cancel culture casts a shadow on free speech by scaring people into silence, even when they’ve broken no rules. Consequence culture, on the other hand, doesn’t hush opinions. It simply addresses actions that cross into real harm.”

    https://patriot.tv/cancel-culture-vs-consequence-culture/

The Republicans seem to be going All In with, not sticks & stones may break my bones, but that, words can hurt me? Or, am I reading that wrong?

…I dunno, The Right seems to be shaping up to be just as nutz as The Left.

    • Morning, Helot –

I loathe Kimmel; he’s an unfunny hack who got rich being a tool. But I loathe the federal government threatening his employer via the FCC even more. The man has a right to his opinion even if others are “offended.” If his show sucks and people don”t watch, then it will be cancelled for the right reason. What just happened is the wrong reason – and it’s going to burn us all in the end.

  3. And “hate” is such a flexible term. It can mean parents attending school board meetings (how dare they!) and people questioning the Covid narrative and the so-called vaccines.

  4. Excellent juxtaposition of Pam Blondie with Jankowicz!

I remember when “Hate Crime” legislation suddenly came into vogue, knowing at the time that not only was it unnecessary, but especially dangerous — in that it would be the cudgel by which government bureaucrats would impose their “values” upon those who neither share nor want them.

Now we have “conservative” (so-called) government officials calling for “hate speech” legislation.

Meet the new boss, same as the old boss.

    My, how far we’ve fallen.

  5. The bottom line is this: if we’re not allowed to offend anyone, then we humans simply cannot coexist. Why? Because ANYONE can be offended by ANYTHING.

    • Morning, Jack –

I just read the supposed text message between Robinson and his “roommate.” It strikes me as off. The language used, for openers. But also that this kid – who is apparently smart – would be so stupid as to text his guilt. Only an idiot would do that. I am persuaded there’s more to this than we are being led to believe.

  6. When I was a kid we used to say “sticks and stones can break my bones but words will never hurt me”. Everyone is so pussified now that they can’t take criticism without having their feeeeeeelings hurt, which to them makes it a hate crime.

    • I think a lot of this comes from Obama’s Brain Research through Advancing Innovative Neurotechnologies program, AKA the BRAIN Initiative. I have a feeling there was a lot of time booked on MRI machines to show undergrads a bunch of pictures and watching what lights up. “Oh look! The same pathways that light up when I shove this hot wire under his fingernails light up when I just show him a video of it happening!”

Proof that, indeed names will harm you!

  7. This appears to be the cycle we are in.
Cancel those who say what you don’t like. How quickly some forget how they were treated during covid.

Each side increases government in the way they like while the other side pearl clutches freedom and the constitution. Then all pretended principles are abandoned as soon as there is power to be gained.

It will continue this way until it all falls apart. The rest of us will be caught in the middle of these monkeys slinging their feces at each other.

    • Morning, Funk!

Even if Bondi walks it back – as she apparently has – it changes nothing because we know her instincts. That Trump has not fired her says much about his instincts and intentions also. I regret voting for him.

      • So do I. From this point forward, I don’t vote. Since there is such thing as a secret ballot, I will contact the overlords from time to time to register my disapproval (or approval of this and that), but never will I go to a polling place again.

    • Pam Bondi to ‘Katie Miller’: “You know, on a broader level, the antisemitism, what’s been happening at college campuses around this country is disgusting. It’s despicable.” — said no actual American ever

Bondi’s otherworldly fake distaste is of a piece with her predecessor ‘Merrick Garland’ asserting with a straight face that white supremacism constitutes the greatest law enforcement threat in America.

No real person makes risible claims like these — except cabinet ministers with a zionist gun barrel held to their temple.

Walk back? As the old saying goes, we’ve established what Pam Bondi is. Now it’s just a question of price.

*fishes in pants pocket for loose change*

      • You make a god point. Florida has been infected (infested?) with jews for a long time. Netanyahu’s (nee Miliekowsky) son has made Florida his home as well. Pam Bondi is merely following the destructive jewish “playbook”…”multiculturalism for thee but not for me”…
When it comes to “free speech” such “speech” is only utterances that meet with jewish approval.
Charlie Kirk made an extremely important (but supposedly unpopular) statement that the imposition of civil-rights (for some) laws was a big mistake that is presently being used against us. Having come of age during the heady push for so-called civil-rights noticed one thing. Along with the Hart-Celler Immigration Act of 1965, almost every civil-rights “handler” was a NYC-based communist-leaning jew. I personally witnessed this, having been around when the “non-violent civil-rights demonstrations” (yeah, right) were taking place with full force. In fact, us whites used to have a saying: “Behind every n e g r o, there is a jew”. Don’t get me wrong, the push for (true) civil-rights was a good thing but should have been restricted to dealings with government. The”baby” got thrown out with the bath water when “equal rights” and “public accommodation” laws were passed, outlawing true “freedom of association” (but only applicable and enforceable against us whites). To this day, every group but whites are free to establish their own race-based and cultural organizations without government interference.
To add insult to injury, jews insist that they need a “jews-only” homeland while denying us gentiles the same “right”.
A good example of this is Kiryas Joel, a “jews-only” community in New York State. If you are a gentile, you cannot purchase property, send your children to the “public” school, establish a business or integrate yourself within the community. You will be informed of this
On the other hand, over 95% of this “jews-ony” community is receiving some sort of government “assistance”, (welfare and government paid-for health care). Many financial and other schemes and scams are run out of that “jews-only” community. Jewish “double standard”, indeed”.
As European jews are not “semites”, their use of the word “antisemitism” is used as a weapon against those who do not know any better. I wear my badge of “antisemitism” proudly and consider any accusation as such to be a compliment.

  8. Correct me if I’m wrong but my understanding is that hate speech is protected under the First Amendment. Speech calling for violence is not. I’m not a lawyer or Constitutional scholar but it sounds correct and if so how come GovCo lawyers can’t or won’t figure it out for themselves?

  9. Hate speech is a made up construct. You cannot say anything too vile that should not be protected. The bar should be whether a criminal act committed (thus a victim and evidence) or not. Hurting someone’s feelings is not a murder, assault, rape or theft, so isn’t a “real” crime.

Still, the devil’s advocate question. This is something I’ve never really seen resolved satisfactorily under any political or government theory.

If someone makes a credible threat and a real crime can be prevented is there some speech that is not free and protected? If someone says “I’m going to kill you.” are you always required to be reactive or can you be proactive in self defense?

Most any honest trainer is going to say if you worry about morality and legality in a self defense situation you’ve already lost the confrontation. The aggressor has already decided not to be bound by social norms and laws. But are they still within their 1A liberty in the case they told what they’re going to do? If they are aggressive and verbal but have not actually thrown a punch or presented a weapon what are you supposed to do? The transition from protected 1A by them to kinetic 2A by you happen in a fraction of second. Can you “fear for your life” based only on speech?

The US Supreme Court calls it the yelling fire in a theater, where speech is no longer protected when it incites crime or harmful action. I’ve thought inconveniencing a theater full of people can’t be a crime but if someone is hurt exiting have you committed an assault by your speech?

In the Kirk case if you could have known it was going to happen by statements made (whether by the patsy or the professional, doesn’t matter) would preventing a murder justify preemptive action or is true freedom only possible if you always let verbalized threats proceed to the crime? Is there some way that ALL speech could be protected and Charlie Kirk not be dead?

It’s an honest question, I don’t ask it having an answer. I can basically accept the premise that a theft, rape or assault as a consequence is a potentially an OK cost not to allow pre-crime enforcement, surveillance and speech monitoring.

But death is a one time consequence. It’s the slippery slope question. I think you’ve have to lack empathy not to want to prevent a murder if that was possible based on what someone said. The judgement of what constitutes a credible way to do that is an impossibility. There’s civil ways, if everyone is armed and criminals did not get slaps on the hands there would be social deterrence. A would-be murderer would have to give real weight to being shot on the spot by a potential victim. So I know the hypothetical is formed made in a vacuum. Even in the imperfect real world things could be a lot more balanced if cops didn’t stick their noses in non-crime personal business and truly only enforced “real” crime.

  10. ‘US Attorney General Pam Bondi just said on a podcast that “hate speech” directed at conservatives was responsible for Charlie Kirk’s assassination, and that people responsible for such speech will be prosecuted by the Trump administration.

‘Bondi’s comments came after the podcast’s host Katie Miller (fishwife of Trump Hofjude Stephen Miller) bizarrely suggested that Kirk’s murder at a university was a symptom of university campuses being too tolerant of mistreatment of people with conservative neocon views.’

    https://www.unz.com/cjohnstone/trump-administration-rushes-to-kill-free-speech-in-response-to-kirk-assassination/

Dual-loyalty, zionist deep-throaters like Pam Bondi have absolutely zero to do with conservatism.

‘Katherine “Katie” Miller (née Waldman), the former communications director for Vice President Mike Pence, is of Jewish heritage. Sources indicate that both her mother’s and father’s families are Jewish. Her family is affluent and comes from Weston, Florida. She is married to political aide Stephen Miller.’ — Google AI Overview

These rootless cosmopolitans are not American. They do not get to tell us what to do. Stephen and Katie Miller should make aliyah to Israel, and relieve us of their seditious presence. They are malignant foreign agents, and make no bones about it.

No such option exists for blonde shiksa Pam Bondi — the kind of naive gentile girl ol’ Philip Roth liked to fondle and slobber over and degrade. Despite her appearance, she’s as anti-white as they come. [Editor: insert dumb blonde joke here.]

    • Stephen Miller is quite possibly the vilest creature in the Orange Man’s stable. A nerdy prematurely bald dork who likely got his ass kicked all through school he has grown to resemble Trump’s mentor the homosexual pedophile blackmailer Roy C(o)hen. I suspect Katie is his beard and they both exist to cause as much destruction as possible in the lives of ordinary people.

Pam Blondi is just an ordinary bimbo and nothing that comes out of her mouth did not come directly from the Orange Man and his Zionist masters. I am so glad I did not vote this time.

      • Interesting take on Miller and Cohn.

My “liberal” brother mentions Roy Cohn and Trump from time to time. I’ll have to look into that. I wonder if Miller is one as well.

In any case, Miller is the primary facilitiator of ICE’s police actions and the growing police state that we are under. The quicker we can get this band of assholes out, the better. Here’s to the 25th.

I deeply regret voting for this asshole.

The nightmares are being realized and the allegations of the extreme left that “Trump’s a fascist,” “Trump’s a racist,” “Trumps a pedophile” may just turn out true.

        I’m ashamed.

  11. “…the United States Government is a criminal organization…”

You could have just skipped the rest. The above says it all.

But saying that is probably ‘hate speech’, too.

  12. Will the political left who screeched against “Hate speech” for years now clamor for free speech after Bondi all but declared she’s going after “hate speech”? There was someone who made the point that people who constantly preach against “Hate speech” just HATE (free) speech period.

  13. You all know who George Zinn is? The professional Jewish crisis actor who now admits he tried to distract everyone from the real shooter:

    https://infostormer.com/jew-george-zinn-said-he-wanted-to-draw-attention-from-real-shooter/

George Zinn was a crisis actor involved in 911 and the Boston Bombing false flags. What are the chances he is Utah at another event?

George Zinn’s confession PROVES the lone gunman theory is bullshit. George Zinn was originally arrested then released, now he’s been arrested again and charged with obstruction of justice. Let’s see if the Mormon court system will go for truth or for ass licking Zion.

  14. “There’s free speech and then there’s hate speech, and there is no place, especially now, especially after what happened to Charlie, in our society . . . We will absolutely target you, go after you, if you are targeting anyone with hate speech.”

What Bondi is saying for her boss Orange MIGA pig aka Trumpenstein is that you can not talk about the Jews. Treasonous Trump is acing as an agent for a foreign state, he is protecting Jews and Israelis, he is doing it because that is his job, a slavish whore of Israhell.

Hate speech is anything the ADL doesn’t like. Hate speech is truth about Jews. Trump is flat out a god damned traitor making Jews a special protected class who are above the law.

    • ‘What Bondi is saying…. you can not talk about the Jews.”

Yet talk about the Jews is all you do. And the US Government is apparently totally disinterested in you.

On the other hand, we in the “Dancing Jews” division of the Mossad, did take notice of you. Our memory is long and our reach is even longer 😉 .

  15. Hmm, I think it might be safe to say that people like Pam Blondi and Darth Tangelo fairly well hate people like me. That is, people who like to think for themselves and may be anti-authoritarian and incorrigible as far as they see it. And they can and would say so, with no consequences.

These people will experience no consequences for outright murder, as is the case with multiple Venezuelan boating enthusiasts recently, so why should they be concerned about saying anything….

“I HATE TAYLOR SWIFT!” for example. Whether or not you like the ginger-haired pop singer, this didn’t appear to be loving commentary. And while someone will make the “inciting violence” argument as a qualifier for “hate speech”, doesn’t Trump have a lot of fanatical sycophants who would do anything he said? Could hating Ms. Swift possibly bring about violence her way? Well, it hasn’t happened yet and hopefully will never happen, but the point is made. “Hate speech” arguments from the Orange Lord’s blonde apprentice appear hypocritical at best.

As you said, Eric. Either you’re free to speak or you’re not.

  16. Trump and Bondi are completely full of shit, the assassination of Kirk was a professional hit job, the kid Tyler Robinson is the patsy, the United States Government is a criminal organization going after the patsy and not a professional killer, who is seen shooting Kirk at near point blank range:

    https://x.com/ValVenisEnt/status/1967450195739959551

“In the video, a “security guard” stands behind a railing, front and center of Charlie Kirk, and only a few feet away. The guard raises his right arm, and an object can be seen protruding through his fingers – possibly an unusual weapon similar to a Chicago palm protector pistol. The timing of his motions is synchronized with the gunshot: raising his hand, aiming at Kirk, pulling the trigger, and recoiling from the gunshot. The object can be seen recoiling between his fingers which is synchronized with the sound of the shot. The man’s left arm is also timed with the shot and appears to be part of the act of aiming a pistol. The man smirks at Kirk, and his facial movements align with his motions of shooting Kirk. He looks like a military person, very different from the others in the audience. ”

IMO Trump is obviously in on this theater of framing the patsy while the government hired thugs walk free. It is very important that people rally around the patsy to stop the false narrative that some kid, who never shot a gun before, did it. Hell, his grandmother said he couldn’t shoot a gun.
