Adlertag

Today is Adlertag – or at least, today’s version of it.

What is “Adlertag”? It is Eagle Day – in German. It was the term used by Reichsmarschall Hermann Goring, head of the Luftwaffe – the German air force – to describe his all-out onslaught on Great Britain at the climax of the Battle of Britain. Which, you’ll recall, the Germans lost.

Adlertag was supposed to finish off the Brits. Specifically, the Royal Air Force. Goring sent everything he had, just about, against the RAF. The sky over the English channel was darkened by wave after wave of German bombers and fighters. More than 1,000 sorties against airfields, radar stations and factories were launched on August 13, 1940. Goring stood on the German occupied French coast, watching with premature giddyness as his Luftwaffe passed overhead. It was premature because despite the air power sent to assault the British on their home island, the British were not beaten. The Luftwaffe never managed to achieve control over the skies of Britain – and the channel – deemed an essential prerequisite to the planned land invasion of Britain (Operation Sea Lion, which never took place).

Well, today – Tuesday, April 7, 2026 – is America’s Adlertag, according to Donald Trump. He does not use the same word, of course. But it is essentially the same thing. Trump promises to unleash “Hell” on the Iranians, who have stubbornly refused to lose the war Trump decided to start. The parallels are – as Mr. Spock used to say – fascinating.

Goring’s boss, Adolf Hitler, decided it would be a fine thing to get involved in a war with Britain (and France). The assumption was that Germany was stronger, both materially and in terms of fighting spirit. The French were beaten but the Brits refused to lose. They even managed to hit back in ways that startled the Germans, as for instance by sinking Germany’s newest and most powerful battleship, the Bismarck. Interestingly, the Bismarck was mortally wounded by “inferior” (and obsolete) WWI-era cloth covered biplanes, which managed to cripple the great warship with a torpedo that jammed her rudders hard over. She was could only circle – and the bulk of the British Navy closed in and blew the ship to pieces.

Having been stymied by the Brits, a frustrated Fuhrer decided to launch Barbarossa – the invasion of Soviet Russia. That didn’t go well, either.

It is not going well now, either.

Trump – furious and desperate – seems about to up the ante against the very annoying Iranians, who refuse to bend knew to his greatness (and the greatness of Greater Israel).

Like Hitler – and Goring – Trump is committed. And arguably ought to be. He – like them – seems to believe that sheer will can achieve the victory he believes he must have. Unwanted facts spoil the mood, though they continue to irritatingly intrude nonetheless, like the RAF bombing raid that forced the Fuhrer to move a conference he was having at the Reich Chancellery in Berlin with the Soviet foreign minister, Molotov – into an underground air raid shelter. This was when the Soviet Union was still allied with Germany and just before the Fuhrer decided to commit to Barbarossa. Hitler was trying to assure Molotov that the war against the Brits (like the war against Iran) was won.

Molotov saltily asked the Fuhrer why, if that was so, they were having to hunker down in an air raid shelter.

Trump, being an unread vulgarian, probably does not know about Adlertag – or anything else that might be found in a book. The Fuhrer, to his credit, did read books. But he, like Trump, was blinded by almost unfathomable (to normal minds) conceit about his own genius and also believed that what he wanted and felt was what would be – by dint of him wanting it and feeling it. When confronted by facts to the contrary, presented by generals and advisors who had good advice for him based on those contrary facts, the Fuhrer would fire them.

Trump likes that word, too.

He, like the Fuhrer, also becomes enraged when contradicted or questioned. There is an excellent book – that thing again – by Ernst Hanfstaengl, who for a number of years was a supporter of Hitler’s as well as his foreign press chief. Hanfstaengl, an educated man who had gone to Harvard and knew America well, tried to explain certain facts to the Fuhrer. These were not well-received and eventually, just before the war began, Hanfstaengl had to flee Germany to avoid being executed for his “treason.” The book is worth reading, if you want to understand Trump.

Meanwhile, here we go – again. At least, if Trump isn’t just blustering, again. If he is not – and if the Iranians continue to refuse to lose – what will Trump do next? Each day that passes without the Iranians losing is causing Trump to look like a loser, the thing Trump cannot abide. Hitler did not have the Bomb. Trump has many. So, of course, does our Greatest Ally – though we’re supposed to pretend otherwise.

Is that what’s next?

We’re going to find out soon, probably.

  1. Are nukes for real? We constantly cry about using nukes will make the area unusable for thousands of years while Hiroshima and Nagasaki are now bustling, growing cities,,, only 80 years have passed. (rounding folks),,,the bombs were so heavy they required extra long runways for the B-29s to takeoff. My suspicion is those bombs in that day were simply large heavy conventional bombs with a touch of nerve gas and other horrifying goodies. Fake nukes like everything else we (the USSA) faked back in the day. Do they work today,,, don’t know and don’t want to find out. Get that war mongering group out of the government and into straitjackets asap or you’ll be sorry…

  2. The irony of the German military in WWII. Had Hitler continued to listen to the non-Nazi part of the military things would have been different. Let those generals do their jobs, they would have done much better and maybe would have even won. Hitler was incompetent as a tactical and strategist and micromanaged.

  3. Germany lost the battle of Britain because it stopped bombing airfields started bombing cities. Because Britain was bombing cities.

    • Iran is losing the war because they need to bomb Trump, take out the Orange maniac while he is raping some little girl at Mar a Lago.

A dead Trump is no longer a nuisance. Just imagine if the twin devils Netanyahu and Trump were both dead how much better the world would be.

  4. Israel has summoned a Golem to destroy itz enemies. And that Golem is Trump.

I don’t know what they have on Trump. It could be the Epstein files. Maybe he’s overly influenced by those closest to him like his Son-Law, or his Chief of staff or maybe his business partners or his financial contributors.

He did throw us White people a few bones as far as domestic policy is concerned.

Maybe after he finishes his term the people of Venezuela can hire him as their president. But I’m sure he might want to take the job of Prime Minister of Israel after Netanyahu leaves.

  5. Prelude:
The MO of the US for many decades has been to involve itself in some place it doesn’t understand, drop lots of expensive ordnance and create chaos, then leave and/or declare victory. Particularly key to this has been picking on small, unstable, weak opponents.

Part of this is that Teutonic worship of the wunderwaffen (sorry Adi, no umlauts). Part of it is the hiding of the ruinous costs in relentless inflation of the currency. Part of it is hiding the human costs in an all volunteer (AKA mercenary) military. And the final part was warring on the American people with propaganda, to include the consolidation of all media under a few insider “owners”.

    Where we are:

The US (infiltrated and controlled by neocon Zionists) has picked a fight with a capable, well defended, cohesive and stable opponent on its own favorable terrain on the opposite side of the globe where logistics are even more ruinously expensive. Our professional military just spent a billion of our dollars in a putative rescue mission for two men. Our professional military insist our B21 and other electronic wizardry is blinding and defeating the Iranian military, and has destroyed all military targets.

    What next:

The problem is, they’ve forgotten that when you pick a fight, the other guy has a say in how it ends. Since Israel won’t fight its own battles and is aware it’s too small to occupy Iran, they’re fighting to the last American dollar. This will weaken Iran and spread misery, but not break it. It will also weaken the American empire and that will break.

Precisely what would resorting to nukes do? It might win the war, at the cost of everything. Nuclear weapons, directed at cities and civilian populations could murder a huge percentage of Persians. Protected military stockpiles of missiles, launchers, and nuclear material are mostly going to survive. I don’t mean it would trigger a full nuclear world war, though that is a possible outcome. I mean the US reputation, already in tatters, the US economy, already collapsing, US legitimacy in foreign affairs, all would disappear. It would mean the loss of our soul.

So what happens when the US empire falls? Will there be improved freedom? Or will there be two decades of turmoil, misery and poverty while Chinese Communism and EU fascist socialism and Russian Autocracy fight it out over the pieces.

Will we even retain any freedom here in the US? Places like Virginia, California, Colorado, New York, and Minnesota have already spurned and laughed at the US constitution and the rights of citizens. They have also allowed in 30 million colonizers from inferior, non western cultures and states.

No matter what, you won’t have to vote. But you will have to fight.

      >Comparisons can be drawn between the T-34 and the U.S. M4 Sherman tank. Both tanks were the backbone of the armoured units in their respective armies, both nations distributed these tanks to their allies, who also used them as the mainstay of their own armoured formations, and both were upgraded extensively and fitted with more powerful guns. Both were designed for mobility and ease of manufacture and maintenance, sacrificing some performance for these goals. Both chassis were used as the foundation for a variety of support vehicles, such as armour recovery vehicles, tank destroyers, and self-propelled artillery. Both were an approximately even match for the standard German medium tank, the Panzer IV, though each of these three tanks had particular advantages and weaknesses compared with the other two. Neither the T-34 nor the M4 was a match for Germany’s heavier tanks, the Panther (technically a medium tank) or the Tiger I;

According to Victor Davis Hanson, the USSR had about 4:1 superiority in numbers of tanks (~20,000 vs. ~5,000), which is why they prevailed.
Production strategy is Ford/Chevy vs. Porsche. Guess who wins.

The Smithsonian has one of these:

Ho 229 was the world’s first jet powered flying wing, and had sufficient stealth capabilities to evade British radar. Prototype 1944. Never made it to production.
The world did not see another stealth capable jet powered flying wing until the U.S. B-2:
      https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Northrop_B-2_Spirit
      began production in 1988.
Flying wings fell out of favor with the crash of the second Northrop YB-49 prototype, which killed five members of the crew.

Northrup built some single engine flying wing prototypes:

This plane eventually crashed, destroying the aircraft and killing the pilot.

      • Hi Adi,

One of my favorites is the Sanger “antipodal” bomber. The scheme called for a kind of lifting body (Six Million Dollar Man) pushed into orbit via V2 rocket motors; it would then “skip” over the atmosphere to the target area, drop its bomb – the one bomb – and then “skip” back to German controlled area…

    • Excellent analysis, Ernie.
I agree with everything you said.

If, God forbid, the U.S. uses nuclear weapons against Iran, it will become the most infamous pariah nation of all time. Japan *did* attack the U.S. first (some say they were coerced), so there is a case for using nuclear weapons to end the war. (Never mind the historical fact that nukes were developed for use against the Third German Reich, which, unfortunately, surrendered before the weapons could be used. So, in that sense, the Japanese were just used as lab animals in a full scale weapons test, and to justify the stupendous cost.)

In this case, the U.S. is, without dispute, the aggressor nation. If the U.S. is ever brought to account, the war crimes tribunal might have to invent a whole new category, “waging a war of aggression using nuclear weapons” to describe its perfidy.

    • ‘Since Israel won’t fight its own battles and is aware it is too small to occupy Iran, they’re fighting to the last American dollar.’ — Ernie

      Spot on. Thank you!

Minor caveat: thanks to the ‘elastic currency’ excreted by the Federal Reserve, there’s no such thing as the ‘last American dollar,’ unlike (for instance) the last (21 millionth) Bitcoin.

But your point stands: as always, Israel’s Hofjuden have set up a ‘let’s you and him fight’ showdown with their ugly, unprovoked attack on Iran.

If stopping nuclear proliferation were the actual objective, the US would have invaded Israel and seized its 200 illicit nuclear weapons. Mission accomplished! 🙂

I hope their are a few generals that Kegsbreath hasn’t fired yet that will have the integrity to roll a tank up to the White House and drag him off to prison.

    • We can only hope at this point. This literally is the darkest day I can remember and that is saying something but when you log on and see headlines like this:
      https://www.zerohedge.com/energy/75-gulf-energy-assets-damaged-us-iran-war-supply-shock-intensifies
One loses even the slightest optimism for the future. Right now if China invaded to take over DC to take the Orange Douchebag’s finger off the button and execute him and 99% of the members of CLOWNgress, the entirety of the Orange Turd cabinet, and the Pentagram I would not have a problem with it. It has gone that far.

Of course turning the state of IsraHELL to a glass parking lot would be a bonus.

  7. Repugniclowns go all Talmudic/legalistic on us:

‘I will not support ongoing military action beyond a 60-day window without congressional approval.” — Sen. John Curtis (R-Utah)

‘Rep. Don Bacon (R-Neb.) told The Hill on Monday that he’d consider a vote on a war powers resolution if the conflict extends past 60 days.’

‘Congress “will have to take necessary action” if the conflict “goes beyond the 60-day window.”’ — Rep. ‘Mike Lawler’ (R-NY)

    https://thehill.com/homenews/house/5818652-iran-gop-trump/

F*ck sixty days. The US-sponsored Nuremberg tribunal called launching a war of aggression ‘the supreme international crime.’ The first day of this evil war featured an atrocious war crime at the Minab girls school, killing 175.

And yet these hair-splitting toadies rabbit on about ’60 days,’ for fear of their electoral vulnerability. They have no principles whatsoever. They are total moral zeros. We owe them no respect, no tolerance, no quarter.

    SCREW THE STINKING WAR.

    • While there is no “lesser evil” for almost my whole life I have regarded the Repuke Party as the greater evil because of their advocacy of militarism and the lie of “Peace through Strength” and endless endorsement of Hut! Hut! Hut! authoritarianism. The Blue Team gave them quite a run for their money during Event COVID but this is beyond the pale as there is no way to “opt out” of a nuclear war.

This rant is directed towards anyone who still thinks voting for the Red Team is still in any way a good idea.

    • >The first day of this evil war featured an atrocious war crime at the Minab girls school, killing 175.
And, of late, the Jewnighted Estates is bombing Iranian universities.
Appropriate retaliation might be to bomb, e.g., MIT, or the Technion.

However, now that we have Complete and Total Regime Change, where different, smarter, and less radicalized minds prevail, maybe something revolutionarily wonderful can happen, WHO KNOWS? We will find out tonight, one of the most important moments in the long and complex history of the World. 47 years of extortion, corruption, and death, will finally end. God Bless the Great People of Iran!” — Psycho Donnie Fubar

What on earth is Trump talking about, if not a devastating nuclear attack?

    It’s delusional. It’s criminal.

If Trump carries out this dastardly threat, under orders from his Israeli minders ‘Kushner’ and ‘Witkoff,’ the rest of the world would be justified in wiping America off the map.

And if he doesn’t, this psychotic, fulminating tweet should result in immediately stripping him of his presidential powers and duties under Amendment XXV.

This has gone way too far. Our unhinged president is a clear and immediate danger to himself and all of humanity. Neutralize him.

    • Yeah, I’m getting increasingly concerned about Trump’s rhetoric. He said “a whole civilization could die,” they’re “animals,” and “open the fucking Strait, you crazy bastards.”

This is TOTALLY unbecoming of a head of state and a commander-in-chief. It’s totally unprecedented.

I get the idea that a bit of blunt barnyard language and populist rhetoric can sometimes be useful. I voted for Trump all three times he won in no small part because he called bullshit on the left in plain English. he called out Obama and Hillary as the frauds they were, called bullshit on the tranny stuff, the illegal immigration nightmare, etc. I get that sometimes threats to adversaries are better then diplomatic bullshit.

There is a point where “go-along-to-get-along” country-club politeness requires you to either believe in, or at least pay lip service to absurd and dangerous beliefs and make an ass out of yourself. It was refreshing when Trump brazenly and casually and confidently dismissed that nonsense.

But this is different. He is a different person than he was in his first term. Different than he was in his 2024 campaign.

Now he sounds crazy — but they have always called him crazy anyway. They called him crazy when he denied the raped the woman who couldn’t even remember when it happened and never called the police. They called him crazy when they accused him of being Putin’s agent. They called him crazy when he said Hillary was crooked.

I can only guess what is going on. He may be losing it because of his age, but I don’t think that’s it. First, I think he is getting desperate because Bibi snookered him into this war by promising him it would be over in a few days. He now understands that he may damn well wreck the global economy, and his name will forever be shit.

He may be losing it because Bibi has Epstein dirt on him. He may be losing it because Mossad/CIA convinced him that the Iranians were trying to assassinate him. Remember all those rumors they started floating about how the Iranians were plotting to kill him within 24 hours of the kid trying to shoot him in Pennsylvania?

I remember and I immediately called it as Operation Mockingbird bullshit.

So I am increasingly becoming uncomfortable with this whole situation. As it becomes clearer and clearer that ZOG is not winning, Trump becomes more and more unhinged.

He’s a bone-spur Vietnam draft dodger spewing rhetoric as if he were George S. Patton. At the very least the optics are terrible. At worst he’s gone off the rails and is going to wreck the global economy, if not drop a nuke.

      • “ But this is different. He is a different person than he was in his first term. Different than he was in his 2024 campaign.”

Wake up. Trump is who he’s always been.

So tired of you Trump apologists. You’re getting exactly what you voted for and getting it good and hard.

      • Agreed, this isnt the Trump we voted for. Others have noticed that the new Trump is dramatically shorter and fatter than the old one. Since nobody believes in conspiracy theories it’s probably best not to notice. Surely with so much power and money on the line, and the possibility if setting back freedom fighters for another decade, nah, never could it happen.

    • ‘The obvious comparisons with the Oracle of Delphi’s prophesy for Croesus (!) have been made already, I guess? “If you cross the Halys River, you will destroy a great empire.”’

      Posted by: Konami | Apr 7 2026 12:46 utc | 665 @ Moon of Alabama

As it turned out, the enigmatic prophecy of the Oracle of Delphi was correct: the ‘great empire’ Croesus destroyed was his own.

Will the US even reach its 250th birthday??

    • Tucker Carlson:

‘Unless somebody puts the brakes on right away, we’re going to wind up in a place we can’t even imagine.’

      https://x.com/Megatron_ron/status/2041462967485846002

‘Tucker Carlson says Trump is considering to use nuclear weapons against Iran. He publicly urges the US military and Pentagon officials to actively defy Donald Trump and refuse orders if he attempts to launch nuclear weapons against Iran.’

Indeed, the US Military Code imposes a duty to refuse illegal orders.

Nuclear war … or the first US coup d’etat? Push has come to shove.

    • The average German had an endless guilt trip laid upon them for the crimes of the Third Reich (which were many, but not to the extreme we were told). Ordinary Germans did not deserve it. A large portion of Americans absolutely WILL deserve their pariah status for their endorsement of “American Exceptionalism”, USA! USA! USA! cheerleading, support of IsraHELL (whether Jewish or Christian), their indifference to the suffering of people on the wrong end of American or Israeli wars, and general insufferable self-righteousness on behalf of the “Team”.

We have a burn ban in effect in my county or else I would be making a whole bonfire of American flags right now.

  9. Eric –
Please spell your German words correctly.
The umlaut changes the vowel to a different letter and therefore a different meaning.
schon is *not* the same as schön
Hubschrauber is definitely not the same as
    Hübsch Räuber

You can use an Extended ANSI Character Set chart:
    https://www.gaijin.at/en/infos/ascii-ansi-character-table
the Alt key, and the numeric keypad to type these characters.

The procedure requires an initial 0 (zero) preceding the 3 digit ASCII code for the character.
You must input the number using the numeric keypad on the RHS of your keyboard.

    Thus:
    ä = 0228
    ö = 0246
    ü = 0252
    etc.
There are many other useful characters in extended (8 bit) ASCII, as you will notice.

      • As an alternative, you can follow the unumlauted vowel with an “e”,
        Thus:
        Goering

        >my keyboard is not “full function”
I don’t know what that means, but you are a journalist. Respectfully, you need a “full function” keyboard.

        • Nah. Just type those words into the search bar, then copy/paste. Easy peasy workaround for those who insist upon using an uncivilized language with way too many letters. 😉

          • Or you could continue to use a settler colonial language with ambiguous word meanings, confusing grammar and spelling rules, and way too many sounds per vowel, including no sound at all. 🙂

            https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Blowing_from_a_gun

            >This method of execution is most closely associated with the British East India Company rule in India. Following the Indian Rebellion of 1857, “blowing from a gun” was a method the British used to execute rebels[6] as well as for Indian sepoys who were found guilty of desertion.
            >Destruction of the body and scattering of remains over a wide area had religious symbolism as a means of execution in the Indian subcontinent, as it prevented the necessary funeral rites for Hindus and Muslims.[9] For believers, the punishment was extended beyond death, and this was well understood by foreign occupiers.

Something to keep in mind next time you are on the phone with typically WOG “tech support”.

  12. What these self-deluded tyrants (this includes the Neo-Cons in general) fail to realize is, is that the Iranians, in this case, are fighting to preserve their nation. Just as Colonists did in the 18th Century in defeating England, a “superior” fighting force, Iran will not surrender to the Two Satans.

WWIII is still in Act 1, Scene 1.

    • People who fight for “Their” country tend to fight harder than those who have to fight for someone else’s country.

      • Which is why the “Christian Zionists” will fight really hard for “Izrull” in preference to the USA, and “Christian Zionist” members of U.S. Clowngress proudly display the “Israeli” flag in their offices, but not the Stars and Stripes.
        This piece of shit:
        https://calvert.house.gov
        for on example.
        >I recently had occasion to note that the entrance to Mr. Calvert’s office in the Corona Civic Center displays prominently the flag of the State of Israel, but not that of the United States of America.

To the best of my knowledge, Mr. Calvert was elected to U.S. Congress to represent the interests of the people of the United States of America, not those of citizens of the State of Israel.

Yet, he has chosen to openly, and quite publicly, display the flag of a foreign country but NOT that of the country whose citizens he was elected to represent. He has thereby, at least in my opinion, demonstrated that his true loyalty is to a foreign country.

That used to be called treason.

        • Mr. Calvert is a traitor and should receive the appropriate punishment for treason which is death.

          Christian Zionism is evil incarnate.

        • Hi Adi.

Your elected representative should only have the national and state flag on display as that is who they were elected to represent. The presence of a foreign flag though shows a disdain of the citizens of the country they purportedly represent and those dual loyalties may well become treasonous. Foreign entanglements are never for the benefit of the citizens.
