Old Enough to Buy a Bic?

2161

Of all the petty indignities that are making life in America increasingly intolerable, having to produce ID to buy a Bic lighter has to be among the top five. And – no – I am not making this up.

This just happened to me, at a Dollar Store in Virginia. I went there to get some paper towels and various cleaning products, hoping to get them a little cheaper than they go for at Wal Mart. As I got up to the checkout, I saw the row of Bic lighters and grabbed one because it’s fall and soon it’ll be time to get the wood stove going. Anyhow, when the checkout lady got to the lighter, she asked for my ID/date of birth. I was momentarily staggered speechless but a couple of seconds later I let loose with an are you fucking kidding me? I quickly apologized because I know she’s just a low-wage clerk who is doing what she’s told to do, which is big part of the indignity.

They turn us against each other in this way.

She had to degrade her intelligence by asking me – a dude obviously well into middle age – for ID to establish that I am at least 21, which is apparently how old you have to be now in my Spanberger’d state of Virginia in order to be allowed to buy a Bic lighter. I guess because I might use it to – gasp! – light a cigarette, which you have to be 21 to buy (and flush enough to afford the exorbitant cost, due to the punitive taxes the Puritans have applied to the purchase thereof). She can tell I’m old enough because it’s obvious and she’s not a retard  – oy vey – but nonetheless must insult herself as well as myself by demanding to see my ID.

It used to be that they allowed the clerks to exercise judgment. If a person trying to buy beer or cigs looked like they might not be 18 (then it became 21) – i.e., they looked like they might possibly still be a teenager – they might ask them them to show ID to establish they had grown out of their teens. The law is petty but that part of enforcing it wasn’t unreasonable.

Now it does not matter how old you obviously are; that it’s been decades since you were a teenager. They know it but make you show ID anyhow. You and the clerk both have to play the degrading game.

The clerk is presumed an idiot who can’t tell the difference between a possible teenager and a 60-year-old – and you are made to deal with idiocy, if you want to get the beer or the lighter.

I told her to forget it.

The Berserker rage is swelling in me – and I think a lot of other people. At least, I hope so. I hope enough of us are tired of being micromanaged like retards who need to be micromanaged. Or, if you prefer, treated something like the way petty criminals are treated when they’re in the county clink for a few weeks. They must beg permission to do things free adults were once free to do without begging permission or having to perform some degrading ritual. I haven’t bought cough syrup in years because I won’t put up with being treated like a scummy drug fiend with the shakes begging for his authorized dole of Adderrall.

Do you remember the old BBC TV series, The Prisoner? The main character’s famous line was I am not a number! I am a free man! Cue the malevolent laughter.

Well, it’s gotten worse. Kids in government schools have to wear ID tags around their necks. The training begins much earlier than it once did.

But at least they’re still actually kids.

“Free man” has the taint of ludicrousness about it when you’re not even presumed to be an adult when you obviously are one and have clearly been one a long damned time. This, incidentally, goes doubleplus for men and women who are not boys and girls anymore. I speak of those 18 and older – who are old enough to be drafted, old enough to vote, sign legal documents and get married but considered by law to be children when it comes to cigarettes and alcohol. Now also Bic lighters, apparently.

A friend of mine’s son got convicted of “DUI” because – after a cop stopped him for some petty infraction – an empty can of beer was discovered in the back seat area of his car. It had been there (and empty) for weeks if not months, forgotten in the mess. He is 20 and so an adult who is treated like a child under “zero tolerance” laws regarding alcohol and automobiles. Under these laws, the mere presence of an “empty” in the vehicle is sufficient by itself to charge and convict an under-21 driver of “DUI” even if there is zero alcohol in the driver’s system.

Here’s one for those who are in their 20s today: There used to be cigarette vending machines pretty much everywhere. Self-service and no ID required. There was a smoking court in my high school, back in the ’80s. Nowadays, you can (legally) buy pot – which used to be a crime – but only if you show your ID.

“Are we not men?” So asks the Sayer of the Law in H.G. Wells’ story about the Island of Dr. Moreau. Once, we were. But slowly, bit-by-bit, we allowed ourselves to be talked out of it. I can pinpoint when it all started, too. Putting seat belts in cars – forcing the car companies to put seat belts in cars – no big deal; they’d never force you to wear them, would they? That was 60 years ago.

And here we are, just like that.

Addendum: A reader says I ought not to have apologized for my profane language; that it is necessary to make the petit tyrants squirm a bit to end the grand mal tyranny. I think he has a point. I pulled no punches when it came to “mask” pushers during “COVID” and make no apologies for it. I agree with my reader who says we ought not to pull them now, either. Leave a huge pile of items on the conveyor belt and just walk out. If enough of us do this, the petit tyrants will have a handful on their hands.

  1. A bit of an aside, but the word “slop” has come out of nowhere in the past year or so. I’ve been reading the works of Winston Groom (author of Forrest Gump) and one of Forrest’s misadventures involved working on a pig farm. The phrase “slopping the pigs” referred to feeding them.

  2. ID Enough to Walk Through Dallas?

‘The nation’s leading [sic] Republicans will be in Dallas this week for the first GOP midterm convention. Citizens in the area will need to take extra measures when moving through a portion of the city’s downtown.

‘The two-day event will bring an estimated 20,000 visitors as President Trump, Vice President JD Vance and others take the stage and mingle around the American Airlines Center (AAC). The high-profile attendees led to the creation of security checkpoints in the area.

‘Anyone driving or walking through the designated zone will need to show ID or “documentation confirming why they’re in the area.”‘

Papiere, bitte, the Schutzstaffel used to bark. Now Zionazi Repukes demand the same, since so many citizens want to see them devoured by rabid hyenas or electrocuted with high-voltage cattle prods.

    Whose streets? OUR STREETS!

    • Mary L Trump [his niece] Sep 6

Donald is decompensating [deteriorating] in real time — just look at the insanity he’s posted on social media today [a map of Iran conformed to his freakish profile].

By refusing to invoke the 25th Amendment, Republicans prove once again that they are willing to ignore the Constitution to protect him at our expense.

      https://x.com/MaryLTrump

Note to normal people: Trump’s map is turned upside down, with south at the top. Obvious brain damage.

    • What we need are some “suicide _ombers” who possess “legitimate” IDs [Why wouldn’t they? They won’t be around after the fact.] to show how ridiculous the idea is that all of this ID and surveillance is for “saaaaaaafety”. Trouble is, aside from gov’t-sponsored psy-ops, suicide _ombers are pretty much not a thing in the real world. (Just hope the next CIA-induced act of “terror” doesn’t involve a colotov mocktail, or next thing ya know, you’ll have to show ID to buy gas.).

      • Already been done.

Somehow the legitimate ID documents always survive the conflagration mostly intact, appear at or near the top of the pile of rubble, are immediately shared with the press (unlike most forensic data), and appear to confirm key parts of the official narrative.

        • Ain’t THAT the truth!
But that variety only happens in Uncle Sam’s Neighborhood.

And conveniently found by an FBI agent…
After a building a block away collapses into it’s own footprint….
But hey, that all appears to be as far down the memory hole as Jeffrey Epstain. [<- Typo, but I like it]

    • Trumpstein just grossly insulted the 2.1 million residents of New Mexico, suggesting that their state should be renamed ‘New America.’ Trump’s crude map:

      https://tinyurl.com/2vuh87d6

Has he lost it, or what?

I’m reminded of an incident that occurred several years ago, when a man relocating from New Mexico had the unfortunate need to register his vehicle in WARshington, DC. The DMV clerk — picture a 350-pound sheboon in a pink blouse — demanded that he produce a passport, believing him to be a foreign visitor. :-0

  3. First we had to “show ID” for Nyquil, because meth heads use an ingredient in the medicine to make their drug. Then, there was the having to buy the cans of air (to dust keyboards off with) from the clerk, because they are now hiding behind the counter. This, due to people sniffing and huffing the cans to get high. I asked the clerk “what ever happened to just getting drunk or high?” The first time I had to show ID for Nyquil, I was so damned mad I nearly walked out. Forget doing this in the name of “saaafety”, I want to be left the hell alone, and a bit of sense to come back to the country. But, seeing how the news has been lately, I think that hell will get air conditioning first.

    • Morning, Shadow!

Why are people who don’t make drugs out of cough syrup treated as it they do because some do? It is insulting – and wrong. Why not let those who do be accountable for the consequences of what they do and leave the rest of us out of it? Well, the reasomn why not is it’s all just an excuse to control – and humiliate -everyone.

      • 1) What’s wrong with making drugs out of cough syrup?

        2) If they hadn’t banned the drugs people wouldn’t be surreptitiously making them out of cough syrup.

        3) A massive appetite for drugs is just another symptom of how completely f’d up our society has become. If it were so great, tgere wouldn’t be a need to escape it…Better living through chemistry, amirite?

        • I agree completely, Publius!

It’s non of my business what people want to do with cough syrup; if they want to make drugs out of it, that’s their business. Government is bad enough. Government as parent is even worse.

        • I honestly think the cough syrup / epinephrine thing is more about people having a working knowledge of chemistry than it is about people making crystal meth in their bathtub.

The knowledge of how to turn epinephrine into crystal meth is pretty much the same knowledge of turning hydrogen peroxide and acetone into triacetone peroxide. People that can make things they want in their homes without the govt, whether it’s drugs, alcohol, or explosives, are not only out of the govt’s control, but they’re also antithetical to its very existence.

  4. The good news is, Eric, that once the Fed’s digital programmable currency is in place, you won’t need to produce any ID, because the government ‘AI’ will know in real time how old you are.

And there won’t be any sales person to yell at.

The downside, however, is that should your social credit score not be adequate, you won’t be able to buy anything even if you have ‘money’ in your account.

All for your own good, of course.

    • Or they’ll say that it’s for “Saaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaafety”, to “Protect Public Health”, “Stop cliiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiimate change”, “Stop trrism”, etc.

  5. I am truly fascinated about the J-pilling that even mostly moderate sites like this one have suddenly embraced.

As John McClain famously said “welcome to the party pal”. I lived in the great talmudic utopia of Brooklyn, I have been the only gentile on my block for almost 50 years, (((they))) vandalized our home, poisoned our dog and damaged our cars when I was a little kid. I was j-pilled before I was in high school. I watch the crimes they get away with, massive amounts of medicaid fraud that has them driving Maybach and Lamborghini SUVs. My former neighbor was convicted of “involuntary servitude” something I cannot recall ever happening, it explained all of the blond haired blue eyed teenage girls he used to have doing aerobics in the backyard – I enjoyed that I must say.

In Brighton Beach you can buy a blond girl for $40k, they go door to door selling them, I only wish I was exaggerating. Then there is the pedophilia networks, I had friends in high school fall victim to one who despite being exposed by the same reporter who first covered Epstein before Epstein, has escaped justice for his crimes against dozens if not hundreds of boys. He too was part of the Democratic machine and had ties to two NY governors.

All of this is real, and it’s far more systemic than even I can imagine despite witnessing it for 40 years.

    • Just imagine what’s happening in towns such as Kiryas Joel (a/k/a Palm Tree NY) and Lakewood NJ, where ‘they’ run the municipal government, vote as a bloc for state politicians who protect their social services scams, and mostly avoid property taxes by registering individual residences as a shul.

Maybe Eric should convert. I’d attend his Shabbat services, if he hands out race car tiny hats to his devotees:

      https://tinyurl.com/4fdac94x

      Vroom, Vroom!

      • Hi Jim,

Not only will I never convert, I have come to deeply resent that my junk got cut in the name of this bizarre Bronze Age cult when I was a baby. I never used to give it much thought but I have been doing more of that lately. If I had a son I would never allow this.

    • Well, I can’t speak for Eric, he can speak for himself. But he seems very dedicated to the principle of free speech, open to facts, and is open-minded enough to dispassionately allow himself to analyze arguments he might initially disagree with, and if they have some merit, be persuaded.

And facts are facts, it is is simple as that.

Fact: these people have believed that they are “God’s Chosen” and that their god commands them to murder other people and steal their land. It’s been part of their holy book and their religious holidays for thousands of years.

Fact: They really DO control both political parties, the media, the banks and Wall Street.

Fact: the U.S. government really DOES serve the interests of Israel first, and the interests of the American people last, if at all.

Fact: U.S. foreign policy in the Middle East is subservient to Israel. The U.S. ignores its own laws forbidding aid to any country that is not a signatory of the NPT. The U.S. has engaged in numerous wars and military actions that are utterly unrelated to any American interest, but very much in Israel’s interest.

Fact: these people are behind the Epstein business, which was 100% a Mossad-run blackmail operation to get dirt on prominent American oligarchs and politicians.

Fact: these people are the richest ethno-religious group in the country, and they buy politicians as easily as $20 whores (cf. Adelson, Miriam).

One need not be an “anti-Semite” or a “Nazi” to see all of this very clearly. For my money I couldn’t care less if the Jews think they are God’s Chosen People and think are entitled to kill Arabs to seize their Promised Land.

People can believe whatever the hell they want. But it is not the business of my country and my government to pay for it, to obsess over it while they care fuck-all about me and my problems, or to send the military that is supposed to defend ME to fight wars on behalf of a religion I do not believe in.

Eric can see this. Anyone who is open-minded and analyzes the facts without bias should be able to see it.

      • With all due respect X, Americans have been indoctrinated, their whole lives to not see it. School, TV, movies… The gentleman above, raised in Brooklyn, surrounded by these dismal and demonic assholes, was front and center to their true nature. Most people have no clue, even after 3 years of horrific genocide. Not on the tv, they don’t want to know.

  6. It’s not about lighters, it’s about compliance, obedience and subsurvience to the state. Training and prodding the cattle, wee bit by wee bit.

  7. In 1992 the city of Chicago banned the sale of spray paint and wide-tipped marker pens. Why? Because somebody may use it for graffiti. So even if you are an adult, you can’t buy those items within city limits. You have to go to the suburbs.

Has it stopped graffiti? Of course not….

You also can’t buy a gun at retail (legally) in Chicago either. It’s not actually banned, but the regulations insure that there won’t be any.

Has it stopped gun crime? Of course not….

It’s not for our safety, it’s because they want control over people who aren’t doing anything wrong. It’s the campaign to make things annoying enough, you just don’t do anything.

It’s being rolled out on car ownership and driving as well.

    • Actually, you didn’t buy a switchblade at Ace hardware, unless you spent triple digits on it. I’ve bought stuff for decades there and never seen one.

You got “an assisted opening knife”, with a bunp on the back, with probably a spring type assist, ,to help the user start the opening process.

True switchblades have a button or switch on the knife handle side or back to remotely open the blade, with no manual blade manipulation required to open the knife.

Words have meanings, and ignorance is painfully expensive.

Please educate yourself, or seek assistance from someone who can help.

This is how (((they))) rob us blind, via obscure laws about dirks, daggers and switchblades…

      Oy Vey!!!

      YMMV….

      • Why is this site so heavily populated by retards?

Call it what you want Switchblade, Out The Front, Stilletto, double bladed knife there are states that allow these to be sold.

Why would a numbnut like you claim to know what is or isn’t legal in my state and pretend to know what is sold here.

Have fun continuing to enjoy your victim mentality and self imposed ignorance you utterly useless serf. One of these days when you get a chance go see if you can find your manhood that you so willing allowed to be taken from you.

How about rather than criticizing others, spend 5 minutes and educate yourself?

      • Fully automatic knives (switch blades) have been legal and for sale in most states for a long time now.

As a collector of pocket knives, I own several fully auto knives, including OTFs and, yes, even a “Made in Mexico” “Italian” “switchblade”.

  8. Anytime a clerk scans your driving license, that information is going/stored somewhere. It’s no wonder our Dear Leader is pushing Data Centers.

    • You are correct, Doug.

Hence, the recent hacking below from ID Scan where 153 million US and Canadian driver licenses were sold on the Black Market.

      https://www.bleepingcomputer.com/news/security/idscan-sued-over-alleged-data-breach-affecting-153-million-drivers/

People need to stop having their ID scanned. FedEx shows up at your door to deliver wine. They want to scan your ID. Tell them to send the damn bottles back. Go to the doctor’s office. They want to upload your ID. Tell them no. Want to purchase a beer at a restaurant and they want your ID. Tell them to go screw themselves.

The more one’s information is out there the more likely it is going to end up in the wrong hands. Deal with companies that refuse to play these stupid games.

  9. My driver’s license expired months ago; I’m not renewing it nor getting an ID card, since it is the biometric photos on such things that end up in databases to forever track one via facial recognition…and other breeches of privacy, which I, as someone who is not and has never been a criminal, should not have to be subject to. Line in the sand. It has to stop somewhere. When do we just keep going along to get along? The longer one waits, the harder it seems to opt out, as the consequences increase as time goes on. That’s exactly the way it’s engineered.
I’m already used to telling the stores to “just forget it”, as I’ve never complied with such BS as showing “ID” to buy some mundane item.
Dollar store cheaper than Walmart? Not anymore! I was shocked while visiting my parents recently; I ran to the local Dollar store to pick up a couple of things they needed. Folger’s coffee-scented muck was $3 more for the same sized can as Walmart; Cat food was 32 cents a can higher….and I forget what else, but everything was higher; Often substantially higher- like several dollars!
I don’t understand how these places are staying in busyness. There’s one on every corner, and they are always devoid of customers; prices are high, and they sell nothing but utter crap. Methinks it is time to short their stocks.
My mom wanted a can of cheapo hairspray to use as fixitive for an art project. They didn’t have any cheap hairspray- only fancy-schmancy ones, starting at almost $8 a can! Where does Methany from the trailer park get her $1.99 Aqua-net these days?

    • Dollar tree/dollar stores in general, have for years, been more pricey than large retail chains.

The burn comes in the form of rural locations, as to get to a large store, its a significantly long, and costly, drive to buy just a few things.

But a small dollar sized store can be built and maintained with pricier products close by for a large majority of the population, who live outside of cities.

And this ia how (((bankers))) punish country folks….

It’s expensive to be poor, but that’s a lesson for another time….

      YMMV….

      • It’s absurd though. The local economies of these little towns, with all of the little stores they used to have, were destroyed because everyone drives to the next county for work and or to shop at Walmart, but somehow these Doll-hair Genrills where you can’t get a head of lettuce or a banana, but can get cigarettes, beer, chewing tobacco, potato chips and soda….can exist. I believe they will go extinct. The people who need them likely can’t afford to pay $3 more for a small can of coffee. Probably why these stores only ever seem to have one employee in them, and usually one customer. Just one of the absurdities of modern dystopian insane America.

  10. “The Berserker rage is swelling in me – and I think a lot of other people. At least, I hope so.”

Yes, many people are now realizing we are being trapped in an electronic penal colony run by Jews and other psychopaths. People are also figuring out the great MAGA traitor Trump has sold the nation to the Israelis, is merging the Pentacon with Mossad and IDF psychos – who love to kill little girls and fire missiles into wedding receptions.

Our nation is beyond repair, terminal, totally absorbed into dark demonic Talmudic evil straight out of foreskin chewing rabbinic Noahide possessed mind. Trump must be arrested, courts martialed for treason, put up against the west wing and executed by a firing squad, then his body fed to pigs and all the Trump assets confiscated and RICOed to pay off the victims of his heinous war crimes like the 170 little girls he slaughtered with 5 cruise missiles.

Basically, Amerika needs to be burned to the ground for it’s extreme negative karma because we killed 50 million people since the end of WW2.

ChatGPT says “A reasonable broad estimate for war/conflict-related deaths since 1945 can reach well above 50 million when indirect deaths are included.”

“Professor John Mearsheimer: From 1971 to 2021, the US murdered 38 million people. Mearsheimer, a prominent political scientist and proponent of offensive realism, made this statement during a recent event at the University of Chicago’s Graham School.”

    https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=98Kd55qHCW0

What gives us the right to starve people in other nations? We have no right, we just have Jewish psychopaths directing our foreign policies. We allow Jews to direct our nation to commit endless war crimes. So why are we allowing this? It’s the Holy Bible, we are brainwashed by the evil Jew holy book.

    • I love that phrase “offensive realism” used by the MSM for people who state the truth. Wordsmithing is an art with these lying scumbags who run cover for war crimes. Wars become “conflicts”, murdered people become “causalities”. So I ask ChatGPT (Yes Virginia, avowed neo-Luddite Yukon Jack is using Ai for research to fight the Jewish run state). Many Ai programs are language models, thus perfect for using to uncover how the evil press obfuscates real crimes by the psycho mass murderers we have elected.

If you’re looking for the vocabulary used to sanitize or obscure state violence, some recurring patterns are:

“Collateral damage” → civilians killed or injured.

“Civilian casualties” → civilians killed or wounded; “casualty” itself is deliberately impersonal.

“Kinetic action / kinetic operations” → military attacks or combat.

“Targeted strike” → an attack intended to kill a particular person or group; it doesn’t by itself establish that the target was lawfully attacked.

“Surgical strike” → rhetoric implying exceptional precision and limited harm.

“Air campaign” → sustained bombing and missile attacks.
“Degradation of capabilities” → destroying weapons, infrastructure, or sometimes people.

“Neutralize” → can mean kill, incapacitate, or otherwise remove someone as a threat.

“Eliminate” → often a sanitized term for killing.

“Extraordinary rendition” → secretly transferring a person to another country, historically including transfers into situations involving torture.

“Enhanced interrogation techniques” → a euphemism associated with coercive interrogation practices, including methods widely characterized as torture.

“Detention facility” → prison, often in contexts where ordinary judicial safeguards are controversial.

“Security operation” → can encompass arrests, raids, expulsions, or military violence.

“Counterterrorism operation” → a broad legitimizing frame that can obscure questions about proportionality, civilian harm, or legality.

“Regime change” → overthrowing or replacing a government.
“Democratization” → can sometimes function as a more favorable description of externally driven political transformation.

“Peacekeeping” → sounds inherently benign, although the actual operation may involve coercive military force.

“Stabilization” → potentially means military intervention intended to impose or restore a preferred political order.
“Advisers” → may obscure the extent of foreign military personnel’s operational involvement.

“Boots on the ground” → a casual metaphor that can conceal the presence of foreign combat troops.

“Partner forces” → local armed groups supported by a foreign government; the phrase doesn’t tell you much about who they are or what they’re doing.

“Security assistance” → weapons, training, intelligence, funding, or other military support.

“Defense cooperation” → can encompass substantial military assistance and basing arrangements.

“Arms transfer” → weapons being supplied to another government or armed group.

“Adversary” / “near-peer competitor” → bureaucratic language for another state regarded as a military opponent or potential opponent.

“Offensive realism” → importantly, this one is not simply a media euphemism for someone who tells uncomfortable truths. It’s an academic theory in international relations, associated particularly with John Mearsheimer, arguing that great powers are driven to maximize relative power because the international system is anarchic. People can certainly use academic terminology rhetorically, but the theory itself isn’t synonymous with criticism of U.S. foreign policy.

    • I’m pretty sure you can at least double that 38 million number.

The (((government))) legalization of abortion, a ritual sacrifice of babies to Baal, is responsible for about that number, in just the US alone, much less the rest of the world.

We are burning for our inequities, but the (((government))) is heaping huge coals upon our heads!!!

      YMMV…

      • Just used (((Ai))), which IMHO, stands for Additional Israelis, to look up US abortion statistics, and it was staggering…

Since 1973, to end of 2025, over 68 million abortions, and I could only think of two worda….

        Jesus wept….

        YMMV….

  11. Eric,
I had a gas station that wanted to scan my ID in order to buy a lottery ticket. He assured me that no data was stored – I walked out.

Several grocery stores in my area have started to require scanning of your ID in order to buy beer/lottery tickets/tobacco saying that it is “company policy”. I have told them that my policy is not to patronize stores with such policies and that I did not trust their computer security nor their word that the data would not be used against me somehow.

Twice I have walked out with my items on the conveyor belt in the middle of being rung up. I’m not sure how long it will be before this will be nationwide.

Looks like we are at the stage where you will need the “Mark of the Beast” in order to participate in society.

It just wasn’t tight enough for enough people to notice, or care.

American Intelligence Media has been able to quickly verify that many of the claims insinuated in this “Zuckerberg Dossier” are true and this leads us to conclude that the document is authentic and exactly what it appears to be.

Mark Zuckerberg, and all of us who were there from the beginning, are lying to you and using your personal life as a government-controlled experiment in brain-washing and mind-control – basically a weaponized system of the military (CIA especially) that got out of control. At this point, Mark Zuckerberg has lost control of a company that he never really owned or operated. Truly, anyone who has ever worked with Mark knows that his mind is a blank and that he is nothing more than a parrot for the government handlers who created him. Mark is incapable of running a McDonald’s, let alone one of the most powerful companies in the world. Not even his name is real and his identity has always been covered up. Mark was chosen as child for a CIA training program because his relatives were some of the people creating the program.

      • Mark Jewberg is just the face they want you to see. He’s the fall guy, the target for our ire.

The people to really pay attention to are people like Eduardo Saverin and Dustin Moskovitz. The scum sucking jews that try to keep their names out of the public mouths, so they prop up their sacrificial lamb, Mark Jewberg.

    • Just watched “They Live” for the umpteenth time last time last night, that movie rings more true and more relevant each time I see it. “We’ve got one that can SEE” that has been the story of my life since my teens. How is it that I, the family heathen, could and can clearly recognize the creeping tyranny and the pure evil of the political class (both”sides”) yet my “conservative Christian” relatives have always fell for “it’s for our own good”, “the police are the good guys”, and “it will be fine when the RIGHT people are in power” over and over again? I think you are on target with the influence of the (un)Holy Book in reducing the masses to groveling sycophants.

It really does get harder to deal with the majority of people with each passing day.

      • Amen, MQ –

I have felt the same since my teens also. My oldest/best friend is addled by a Q Anon line of bullshit styled “Devolution.” It holds that back in late 2020, “white hats” in the (beloved) military took control of the government to set things right via series of “ops” and “narratives” that would eventually cause the “normies” to reject Leftism. Of course, Trump is the Golden Golem behind it all. If I ever need to get really mad before I try lifting something heavy, I listen to some of this claptrap. If you have a strong stomach, see: Devolution Power Hour/Badlands Media.

      • Fuck yeah, MetalQueen. That’s a classic and now there are “little fellas” come to show them where we are, everywhere.

        But mama don’t like tattle-tales.

      • Well, some decades back, a really absolutist interpretation of the thirteenth chapter of the New Testament book of Romans took over nearly all of the seminaries. There used to be this one preacher on the radio, John MacArthur, who condemned the American War of Independence and even the underground resistance to the Nazis of WW II. To people like him, *all* rebellion, revolt, revolution and resistance, without exception, is totally wrong and sinful and ungodly.

They don’t seem to realize that they’re sawing off the limb they’re sitting on. Because rebellions and revolts and revolutions sometimes *succeed*. So, does that mean that all Christians must now submit to the new boss, same as the old boss?

Not all of them think so. Does that surprise you? Anyway, brace yourself: there *are* some Bible quotes in this.

NO, ROMANS 13 IS NOT ABOUT OBEYING THE GOVERNING AUTHORITIES

“Historically, the most terrible things: war, genocide and slavery,
have resulted not from disobedience, but from obedience.” – Howard Zinn

‘ If I ever get to meet the Apostle Paul, I’m hoping to have a little chat about some of the things he wrote.

It’s not that I disagree with him. It’s just that I wish Paul had been a little clearer at times. Especially when he wrote the original King James version of the Bible 😉

Take Romans 13. This chapter is one of those classic clobber passages, used to make sure we are all being obedient citizens, which historically has led Christians into all KINDS of problems:

“Everyone must submit himself to the governing authorities…” (Romans 13:1)

His fellow Bible-writer, Peter, wrote something very similar:

“Submit yourselves for the Lord’s sake to every authority…” (1 Peter 2:13)

I call these clobber passages because they are too often used to crush dissent, stifle protest and discourage civil disobedience.

But we live in times where dissent is more important than ever. All around the world we are witnessing the rise of the “strongman” – brutal leaders like Putin, Erdoğan, Duterte and yes, Trump. These are hard-line men who rule with an iron fist and with little regard for justice or the downtrodden.

I’m concerned that if we don’t get this right, we could easily find ourselves treading the path of the German church under Hitler’s Nazi government.

In those days, too many good citizens – good Christians! – stood by, while their vulnerable neighbours were crushed by the governing authorities.

So, let’s take a closer look at these passages.

After Jesus’ death and resurrection, King Herod got super mad and arrested some of the believers, including James and Peter, and put them on public trial. The night before the trial, an angel of the Lord woke Peter up, removed his chains, opened the prison doors and led him out the main gate of the prison.

Yet after escaping from jail, where he had been imprisoned for breaking the law, Peter went on to write in a letter:

“Submit yourselves for the Lord’s sake to every authority instituted among men: whether to the king, as the supreme authority, or to the governors, who are sent by him to punish those who do wrong and to commend those who do right. For it is God’s will that by doing good you should silence the ignorant talk of foolish men.”

And similarly, while Paul was in Damascus, he escaped from a strongman city governor who was trying to arrest him, by concealing himself in a wicker basket and having himself lowered down the city wall through a window.

Then after reaching safety, Paul wrote a surprising letter:

“Everyone must submit himself to the governing authorities, for there is no authority except that which God has established. The authorities which exist have been established by God. Consequently, he who rebels against the authority is rebelling against what God has instituted, and those who do so will bring judgment on themselves.”

So are Peter and Paul hypocrites, asking Christians to do as they say, but not as they do?

Though these passages have been used to maintain the status quo (ever since the Emperor Constantine became a Christian and made it the official religion of the Empire), there is a BIG disconnect between Peter and Paul’s actions and the way we have traditionally interpreted their words.

The key to undertanding is in the word “submit”. Take a look at this. The Greek word hupo-tasso, which has been translated as “submit” or “be subject,” literally means to arrange stuff respectfully in an “orderly manner underneath”.

This simple meaning of “social orderliness” would have been understood by original readers, but it is a little obscured in our English translation.

This word is used in Ephesians 5:22 to encourage husbands and wives to submit to one another, and it reflects God’s concern for order and respect.

Here’s the main point – Paul and Peter believed that governing authorities are necessary for keeping the peace. God is a God of order – not anarchy or chaos.

But here’s where we go wrong. There’s ANOTHER word, hupo-kouo, which is best translated as “obey,” which literally means to conform, to follow a command, or to kowtow to an authority as a subordinate.

Peter and Paul could have used this word, “obey,” but they chose not to.

Used twenty-one times in the New Testament, hupo-kouo always suggests a hierarchical context, as in the relationship between children or slaves and their parents or masters (Eph 6:1 and 6:5).

And so here’s the most important thing to remember – in the New Testament Greek, to submit does not always mean to obey! They are two separate actions or postures.

Though Paul, Peter and other followers of Jesus deliberately disobeyed laws that were in conflict with God’s commands, they still submitted to the authorities by accepting the legal consequences of their actions.

I’m proud to be friends with a bunch of clergy, activists and other serious Christian types who are willing to pursue justice in costly ways.

Some of them stage hippie sit-ins on the floor of their local government representative’s office to protest unjust treatment of refugees. Others chain themselves to bulldozers to protest environmental injustice.

I won’t mention everything online, but suffice to say, many of them are willing to break laws that are wrong and unjust.

This is nothing particularly new. As far back as the book of Exodus, the Hebrew midwives refused to carry out the Pharoah’s repugnant order to murder newborn babies.

The first people who sought to worship Jesus, a trio of spiritual gurus from Asia, deliberately disobeyed the orders of King Herod, a criminal offence punishable by death (the first recorded act of civil disobedience in the New Testament). Many of the disciples ended up in prison.

As Christians, the law cannot be our ultimate moral guide. Slavery was lawful. The holocaust was legal. Segregation and apartheid were legally sanctioned. Many of today’s laws are created to protect corporations rather than people.

Simply put, the law does not dictate our ethics. God does.

But when my radical clergy friends break unjust laws you won’t see them struggling to avoid arrest. You won’t see them acting violently or promoting chaos. In fact, they gladly submit to the legal consequences of their actions.

They show us the way to interpret Romans 13 as Peter and Paul meant – if we break an unjust law to highlight and protest its injustice, we should be willing to submit to the punishment for breaking such laws, so that we demonstrate our respect for the role of government in general.

We do not follow a God of chaos, each doing whatever we want. But a God of order and respect for one another and the governing authorities.

There are times when we, as followers of Christ, will be called upon to stand up with a holy ‘NO!’ in the face of evil and injustice.

Romans 13 does not undermine that posture – it informs it.’

What Romans 13 Does (Not) Mean
        By
        ARDEL CANEDAY

“Let everyone be subject to the governing authorities, for there is no authority except that which God has established. The authorities that exist have been established by God. Consequently, whoever rebels against the authority is rebelling against what God has instituted, and those who do so will bring judgment on themselves. For rulers hold no terror for those who do right, but for those who do wrong. Do you want to be free from fear of the one in authority? Then do what is right and you will be commended. For the one in authority is God’s servant for your good. But if you do wrong, be afraid, for rulers do not bear the sword for no reason. They are God’s servants, agents of wrath to bring punishment on the wrongdoer. Therefore, it is necessary to submit to the authorities, not only because of possible punishment but also as a matter of conscience.

This is also why you pay taxes, for the authorities are God’s servants, who give their full time to governing. Give to everyone what you owe them: If you owe taxes, pay taxes; if revenue, then revenue; if respect, then respect; if honor, then honor” (Romans 13:1–7).

‘ Scripture calls on us Christians to submit to those who govern us, but this directive is often misunderstood. I suggest that Romans 13:1–7 calls us to take note of at least four factors in our Christian responsibilities (whether as pastor or layperson) toward our governing officials. To give proper emphasis to the import of what the Apostle Paul wrote, I will use the present tense rather than the past tense, lest we ease our consciences that the tyranny of the Roman Empire belongs in the past.

        1. Ministers Are Not to be Silent: They are to Follow Paul’s Example by Speaking Clearly and Biblically to Political Issues
Paul wrote the letter of Romans to Christians who lived in Rome, the capital of the Roman Empire. We Christians are not exempt from being influenced to read Scripture from our contemporary situation and thus impose our perspective onto the text. Of course, the Apostle Paul does not write his directives from the relative freedom we Americans have. He writes as a first-century citizen residing within the Roman Empire, not as one who lives within our Democratic Republic. The apostle writes these directives to Christians who reside in the capital of the Empire, and we see his courage when he restricts and defines the authority of the world’s superpower. The fact that he writes these directives concerning how Christians are obliged to relate to those in human government indicates that ministers of the gospel are obligated to provide preaching that imitates this prophetic teaching concerning cultural-social-political-moral-ethical issues. Many ministers of the gospel refuse to address political issues because they lack the requisite knowledge, wisdom, and courage to do so. Lamentably, many who do attempt to speak on these matters do it so poorly and superficially that it becomes manifestly transparent that they do not think deeply about the gospel and its ramifications at the level of comprehensive worldview thinking.

        2. Submission Does Not Mean Silence
The fact that the apostle Paul calls on Christians to be subject to governing authorities and tells us that to rebel against governing authorities is to rebel against God hardly suggests that Christians are to adopt a posture of simpering pawns and obeisant sycophants. It does not suggest adopting the martyr’s complex and never defending themselves against false accusations and never speaking on public policy issues. If that is Paul’s objective, why does he even bother writing these things to the Christians in Rome? No! We must understand this blanket command in light of Paul’s actions elsewhere. What might submission to the governing authorities look like? Here are three things:

        (1) The Apostle Paul appealed to his Roman citizenship to avert flogging (Acts 16:35–37; 22:25–29).

        (2) He called on Roman officials to protect his life when his fellow Jewish countrymen arrested him and conspired how they might put him to death (Acts 23:12–35).

        (3) He also appealed to Caesar for justice rather than leave his case in the hands of wicked Jews who were determined to carry out their injustice to terminate his life (Acts 25:10–11).

Because the apostle knows and understands that human governments are ordained by God, he is neither timid to appeal to governing officials to preserve his life from jackals and wolves who would devour him, nor bureaucrats in high positions who think that they would be doing God a favor. Nor is he afraid to include in his letter to Christians in the empire’s capital city directives to Caesar that he is subject to God and that as God’s subject, he is, like all other governing authorities, obligated to punish evildoers and to reward doers of good.

        3. The Role of Governing Officials Is Not to Do Whatever They please, But to Commend Doers of Good and to Be a Terror to Evildoers
In his commentary on Romans 13, John Calvin makes an apt observation that is worth quoting in full:

Magistrates may hence learn what their vocation is, for they are not to rule for their own interest, but for the public good; nor are they endued with unbridled power, but what is restricted to the wellbeing of their subjects; in short, they are responsible to God and to men in the exercise of their power. For as they are deputed by God and do his business, they must give an account to him: and then the ministration which God has committed to them has a regard to the subjects, they are therefore debtors also to them. And private men are reminded, that it is through the divine goodness that they are defended by the sword of princes against injuries done by the wicked. . . . It is another part of the office of magistrates, that they ought forcibly to repress the waywardness of evil men, who do not willingly suffer themselves to be governed by laws, and to inflict such punishment on their offenses as God’s judgment requires; for he expressly declares, that they are armed with the sword, not for an empty show, but that they may smite evil-doers.[1]

        1. John Calvin, Commentary on Romans, [Grand Rapids: Baker, 1979], 481.
As Calvin states, we are obligated “to obey kings and governors, whoever they may be, not because we are constrained, but because it is a service acceptable to God; for he will have them not only to be feared, but also honored by a voluntary respect.”[2] Yet, is there not more here than directives to Christians concerning how we should submit to our governors? Yes, surely there is.

        2. Calvin, Commentary on Romans, 481.
        4. All Christians Are Obligated to Remind Governing Officials of Their God-Appointed Role.
By virtue of their leadership roles in Christ’s church, ministers of the gospel generally have greater opportunities and frequency to apply publicly the teachings of Scripture on state and national issues. This, however, does not alleviate lay Christians from actively participating in doing the same within their own individual spheres of influence. Hence, ministers are obligated to lead them by example and to admonish them to live fully in keeping with their Christian confession: “Jesus is Lord!” The Apostle Paul sends his letter containing a ruler’s obligations not to the emperor’s palace, but to Christians in Rome. By doing this, the Apostle Paul is instructing us that we Christians have an obligation to teach our own families and our neighbors concerning our roles as citizens but also to remind those who govern us:

        (1) that God appointed them to their seats of governance;

        (2) that they are ministers of God for the well being of those whom they govern;

        (3) that justice—punishing evildoers and rewarding doers of good—is their primary role; and

        (4) that they are in positions of authority not to serve themselves but to serve those for whom they are entrusted with governing.

The apostle’s admonitions forbid us from engaging in activist rioting, insurrection, and disorder. But his words do not keep us from peaceful protestations, the kind that have gathered on the National Mall in our Capitol such as the March on Washington led by Martin Luther King Jr. We do, however, need to observe that Paul’s directives also restrain us from retreating from public life with a safe Christian cloister hermetically sealed from the wicked influences around us, including evil-doing elected officials, magistrates, and bureaucrats who become tyrants. Rather, the Apostle Paul obligates us Christians to confront evil governing officials with holy rebukes to remind them of their God-appointed calling.

The gospel Paul preaches and which we Christians embrace with joy obligates us to confess, “Jesus is Lord” (Rom. 10:9)! This confession is all-inclusive. It is hardly serendipitous that the Apostle writes these words, “Jesus is Lord,” in his letter to Rome, where worship is reverently bestowed on the emperor with bowed heads, raised arm, and with the mouth affirming, “Ave, Caesar!” The gospel’s affirmation, “Jesus is Lord” is subversive to every human governing official who demands allegiance. Our confession obligates us to denounce ultimate allegiance to governing officials and to announce to the world that Jesus Christ is Lord over every realm, over every domain, over every place, and over every person, including vaunted kings, braggart or doddering presidents, tyrannical magistrates, self-appointed messianic figures, and even Caesars who call themselves gods. Governance and public policy issues do not fall beyond the reach of the gospel of Jesus Christ.

        Conclusion
If our confession, “Jesus is Lord,” is true, he is Lord over all. All political theories and implementations are under Christ’s dominion. This reminder is fitting. Ponder again Abraham Kuyper’s response to the notion that Christianity is to be hermetically sealed off from public life: “There is not a square inch in the whole domain of our human existence over which Christ, who is Sovereign over all, does not cry: ‘Mine!”[3] ‘

        • Throughout both the Old and New Testaments the government is often portrayed in less than a positive light.

That doesn’t necessarily mean outright revolt, but it doesn’t necessarily mean completely refusing to be subversive either. I forget exactly where, ut’s somewhere in the epistles, but what it actually says is that if you decide to go up against the authorities you have to accept the consequences. It doesn’t say not to do it, and it doesn’t exactly praise TPTB for inflicting those consequences either.

      • Metal Queen and Eric,
The reason you can “see” is because you have the Mark…

Actual biologically based intellectual intelligence, then applied to analysis of the world we exist in, which is then measured against a framework of values and morals, (principally Christian based).

And you grasp that our ruling elites are actually satanic worshipping pedophiles, whose families bloodlines control the world through economic and religous manipulations.

And we who see this are generally called crazy, by the world at large, because, unfortunately, most people are stupid…and no amount of explanation will help them “see”….

        Oy Vey!!!

        YMMV….

        • Morning, Saxons!

I think part of it – for me – is having what seems to be a native stubborn streak that wants to know why. I was never satisfied with just because. Another part of it – again, for me – is that I have never been someone who needs a group. I am happy on my own, actually – and have aways been, since as long as I can recall. I have read this is characteristic of the “sigma” personality type. It seems to fit. This does, however, very much put me at odds with the herd mentality types!

  12. It’s the very definition of anarcho-tyranny. The government conducts unconstitutional, illegal wars for the benefit of foreign nations, piracy and extrajudicial murders of “suspects”, grift and graft at every level, and on and on. But a kid has a moldy empty somewhere in the mess of his vehicle and, oh boy, throw the book at him. We have rule of law and a rules based order here, uh-huh. The over compensation aspect is really unbelievable.

    • That story fills me with a white hot rage. That the AGW did not take into account that it was old trash and let the young man off with at most a “warning” (as would have be done years ago} proves that the USSA is now worse than the old USSR. That is why I believe the first to meet the guillotine should be the “enforcers” so that the oligarchs and their political toadies can watch the fate that awaits them.

      “Back the Blue”, right, CONservatives?

  13. When I turned 18 in 1975 I had to show a driver’s license and fill out a form to buy a box of .22 cartridges. Or a rifle. Or a shotgun. I couldn’t buy a handgun at all until I turned 21 in 1978.

I’m now 69 going on 70 and I still have to show a driver’s license (though I have no car) and fill out a form to buy any kind of gun. The form’s language keeps changing every year or so too. The questions keep getting more intrusive and more insulting.

If I ever need to buy a new gun again I won’t be surprised if one of the questions is “Did your mother have any children that lived?”

  14. Oh and I just love that “Responsibility Matters” bullshit they spew on those sickening signs as if they were just so CARING and it was not about CONTROL. Next time you are asked for ID in the name of “responsibility” just lay into a rant about this is just a means of establishing the Social Credit Score and how soon you won’t be able to but ANYTHING without “permission”.

Get loud and wake people the fuck up.

  15. It started long before they started seat belts in cars. It started when they forced us to file tax returns, all the mandates and registrations are subsequent.

    • ‘I love it — suicides, assassinations, mad bombers, mafia hitmen, automobile smash-ups — The Death Hour! Great Sunday night show for the whole family. Wipe f*cking Disney right off the air.’

      https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=c-dW2xe6lfk

This was fiction in 1976. In 2024, it became real life, as Israel’s Channel 12 covered the zionazis’ deliberate genocide of tens of thousands of Untermenschen in Gaza, in living color. And ‘we’ helped! 🙂

  16. ‘There used to be cigarette vending machines almost everywhere.’ — eric

In Japan — the land of reliable vending machines — there used to be BEER vending machines almost everywhere, including one on each floor of my hotel in Osaka. Drop in four ¥100 coins, a cold silver can rolls out, and kersploosh — it was Miller Asahi time for this weary gaijin businessman!

But things have changed … for the worse, just as you would guess:

‘Beer vending machines exist in Japan, but they are much harder to find today than they were in the past. Age verification: Older machines used to operate entirely on the honor system, but modern alcohol vending machines generally require a specialized ID, such as a Taspo [Tobacco Access Passport] card, to prove your age before it unlocks the purchase.’ — Goolag AI

Now Automotive News reports that cars are going to verify the authorized driver’s identity (and licensure, and insurance coverage) before unlocking the Start button. Then the Panopticon will be complete. Even our movements inside the house, as well as our identity, can be monitored by a new generation of wireless routers — as if we were zoo animals.

Our culture has curdled. Technology’s benefits are outweighed by its utility as a tool of organized repression. It’s past time for neo-Luddites to start smashing things and monkey-wrenching the system. Plunder the Tech Lords.

  17. Did the clerk in the dollar store just check the birthdate on the ID or did he/she/they scan the barcode into the register?

Depending on the dollar store subsidiary of Vanguard/State Street/Blackrock, the business model of the chain may involve heavy subsidies from various levels of government to provide essentials in the community, and your purchase of the lighter may have been a convenient excuse to record that you purchased the items at that location on the given date/time, especially if you used cash.

At a minimum, your purchases would be data mined to improve the company’s marketing, but, during the pandemic kabuki, enterprising individuals who bought out entire supplies of “essentials” such as hand sanitizer at dollar stores in remote areas were subject to prosecution for theft of what was considered community property in certain states, and actual arrests/trials happened.

  18. “I guess because I might use it to – gasp! – light a cigarette, which you have to be 21 to buy…”

In addition to such lighters representing now socially unacceptable cigarette “paraphernalia”, their purchase is also restricted in some places apparently because some might use them for “huffing” — an interesting term worth looking up — getting high from inhaling the butane or other chemical vapors.

    • They also might use it to burn down the governor’s house.

In fact, they might use it for anything! And anything might be nefarious! The sky is falling!

  19. In Pennsylvania, I can buy a case of beer – or many – at the beer distributor and not be asked my age, but buy even 1 beer in an grocery store and my license is scanned.

    • Same here in Taxachusetts, I think it’s because the grocery stores are mostly staffed by high school kids and don’t want them checking out beer for their friends.

  20. With the mad rush to build “data” centers, the coming collapse of the Dollar and the coming replacement digital currency, producing an ID will be a thing of the past. They will have programed what you can and cannot buy in place.

  21. But…You’re NEVER not old enough to decide you were born in the wrong body and what to change your “gender.”

Even though you’re not old enough to even order from the regular menu at Denny’s.

  22. Eric, Gotta tell you this story. Back in the 90’s, I drove all day one Sunday to see my Mom who lived on Tybee Island, GA. Was getting really thirsty so stopped at a Food Lion in Savannah. Sign on beer cooler said no alcohol sold on Sunday, so I got a 6 pack of non alcohol. Went to check out and she said can’t sell you that. I said it’s basically water. She called the manager and he said can’t sell it to you. I never understood that one.

  23. Wegmans, a regional grocery chain, has a policy of carding everyone if you are buying alcohol. It’s so ridiculous to see seniors or any obvious adult having to produce an ID. The employees are constantly apologizing for it but they have to so they don’t get in trouble.

    • Wegmans has no apostrophe and it suddenly appeared everywhere, like Five Below. I think it is a Blackrock creation made to seem vaguely like an obscure regional brand. But I shop there to escape the extreme frankenfood offered by Food Lion, Walmart and Publix, and the beef and seafood quality is great. But I’m suspicious. I get carded every single time for beer, which is every trip. It’s annoying. Wawa does it too.

  24. Cashiers often enjoy the effrontery, such as masked gas station store employees pushing 2 for 1 candy specials.
Walmart and home depot are major effrontors. The whole works shut down for store log-in and dirty cash scan.

    • Hi Tick,

I refuse to tolerate the “show your receipt” crap. I just walk past them. Sometimes, I hear “sir! sir!” but I keep going. Fuck you, asshole. I just paid for the stuff I have. It is now my property – you no longer have any right to demand I show a receipt. If they lay hands on me, I will smash them in the god-damned mouth. If they think I stole what I just paid for call the cops.

      Burn it Down.

      • Certain items at Walmart, such as alcohol, cosmetics, and anti-redness eye drops, are stolen at higher rates than other merchandise. These are what the receipt checkers are looking for.

When retail theft gets out of hand, as it did in Commiefornia when thugs could openly grab $950 of stuff and walk out with no fear of arrest, stores respond in one of two ways: 1. Raise prices on the honest customers; 2. Close down.

Two weeks ago at the Walmart self checkout, the clerk called out ‘Sir! Sir!’ as I completed my purchase. He pointed to an empty yogurt container in the cart and said, ‘You didn’t scan that.’

‘It was there when I got the cart,’ I replied. ‘IT’S NOT MINE.’

He said nothing more. But I was totally prepared for a showdown: check your monitor cameras; play the video of me scarfing down a yogurt during a 5-minute visit to buy a handful of items. It doesn’t exist!

But it goes to show that some lowlifes are treating the grocery aisles as a selection of self-serve hors d’oeuvres, to be consumed on the spot before hitting the cash register. I was quite annoyed to be accused of such behavior … and prepared to raise my voice and make an ugly scene, if need be.

        • If one wants to don their tin foil hat one can make the argument that this kind of theft was “allowed” in order to justify locking merchandise up in order for access to be under the CONTROL of the store (and ultimately the State) so that you can only purchase with PERMISSION the items in question.

All roads lead to digital ID and Social Credit Score unless we burn it down NOW. It almost makes me wish for a nuke to just get it over with.

  25. As for these “laws” never vote for their proponents or the parties that espouse them ever again (I know that many no longer vote but some still do).

Phony ID, good enough to appear legit. Name/ birth date/ address phony of course.

Bring a full cart to the cash with the lighter or alcohol as the last item. When asked for ID, search your pockets and say you forgot it. If they refuse to sell you the “forbidden” items tell that’s OK as you also forgot your money. Then leave.

Buy “forbidden” items on line with a prepaid credit card and no sign delivery option.

Move to Russia because it might not be great there but at least their not trying as hard to make it worse and many there still remember the last time they tried communism.

  26. One rainy, humid day few years ago when I still had my old Dodge on the road, it misfired a bit because the ignition wires were arcing in the dampness, so I went to Tractor Supply to get a can of silicone spray.

    The proofed me for it.

I told them to keep it and went down to NAPA.

    • GPC (NAPA) and Tractor Supply are just different retail branches of Blackrock/State Street/Vanguard.

Both are 99% institution owned corporations.

  27. “I let loose with an are you fucking kidding me? I quickly apologized because I know she’s just a low-wage clerk who is doing what she’s told to do, which is big part of the indignity.” -EP

I don’t agree with your apology. By not making it clear in no uncertain terms that you object to this treatment by the store AND the clerk, you are allowing this to perpetuate. The way we ended the “Covid” tyranny was to fatigue the bastards into not wanting to enforce the nonsense. I used to make it so painful on anybody trying to impose it on me that the next time they would see me they’d just look the other way.

Say it with me: “Fuck You!” Then just leave all of the stuff you were going to buy and walk out of the store. Impose a cost of having to restock it all and cause BIC to lose money by never selling another lighter or pen, etc.

  28. I just awoke from a dream about some busy-body giving me trouble. I used to buy lighters across the street from the high school when I was 14. Fuck this bizarre alien world. Drink some cough syrup and burn it all down.

  29. As for age verification theater, when I’m asked my birthday when buy beer I make up a date such as May 4, 2005. They then look at me because it’s obvious I’m not 21 (hell, my underwear is that old) as to say I’m lying. At which point I’ll respond, since you know I’m lying and that I’m older, why did you ask?

One time I challenged a teen girl when she asked my age, “don’t you think I’m over 21?”. She smiled sweetly and said, “gee, I don’t know.” To which I said, “Well, since I’m not doing anything this weekend maybe you’d like to get together.” At that point I could actually see her skin crawl…

Yes, Eric, the pressure cooker of “I can’t take this shit anymore” is about to blow.

    • Man I could go on a rant for the ages on this. Note how the age everything “adult” has been mostly raised to 21 EXCEPT of course registration for “Selective Service” which is made MANDATORY for men (and probably soon women as well) at 18. No you cannot have a beer or any adult fun, goy, but you are obligated to go off and die in a war for IsraHELL before you are ever allowed these things. If I were young I would find a way to leave this shithole country ASAP.

As for the “we card everyone” bullshit, I try to avoid such places but did make the mistake of buying some beer a Bucees (another State Street/Blackrock creation with a fake “folksy veneer) where they scan your ID regardless of age. The clerk apologized for the inconvenience, but I responded with “you do understand this is the back door to a social credit score, right?” I do hope a planted a seed with that, because that is actually what is happening. And the Orange Douche is all on board, every bit as much as shitlibs like Spanberger and her cadres in the VA General Assembly.

I agree Eric my breaking point has long since passed.

      • Yup, independent liquor store for me. I never get “the computer requires it” bullshit.

I don’t put up with lying and will not go along with the false ignorance that I’m anywhere close to being under 21. As they say up where Mike in Boston lives, that’d be “fuckin’ retahhhted.”

      • Hi MQ,

Two words for you….Total Wine. I have never been carded, but then again I do look like a middle aged woman. They get all my money for wine, beer, and hard cider; although I do help out my fair share of local wineries.

If a company doesn’t treat me like a toddler I am happy to support them.

    • You would think that having gray hair (and not just a few) would be cause to skip “carding.” But no. I haven’t bought any alcoholic beverages in awhile (stopped drinking after elevated A1C), but when I did (and had gray hair), I engaged in some banter with the checkout personnel. No longer. The “authorities” around here actually conduct “stings’ where they will try to buy something without getting “carded” and will punish the store/clerk if they don’t insist on the purchaser (“stinger?”) showing the card. “Zero tolerance” = zero brains.

      • The narcs that participate in these “stings”, especially if they are young, deserve a major beat down in the parking lot once they leave the store. I hate to be an advocate for such, but it has gotten to the point that the only thing that will make it stop is inducing some genuine fear in the enforcers themselves.

Anyone who thinks “liquor control boards” were not the camel’s nose into the tent of total tyranny were not paying attention.
