Another Story You Won’t Hear Much About…

On Sunday, 2 days after the CT shooting, a man went to a restaurant in San Antonio to kill his X-girlfriend. After he shot her, most of the people in the restaurant fled next door to a theater. The gunman followed them and entered the theater so he could shoot more people. He started shooting and people in the theater started running and screaming. It’s like the Aurora, CO theater story plus a restaurant! Now aren’t you wondering why this isn’t a lead story in the national media along with the school shooting? There was an off duty county deputy at the theater. SHE pulled out her gun and shot the man 4 times before he had a chance to kill anyone. So since this story makes the point that the best thing to stop a bad person with a gun is a good person with a gun, the media is treating it like it never happened. Only the local media covered it. The city is giving her a medal next week. Just thought you’d like to know.

    News Coverage

After any incident like this, the police state kicks into high gear and a wide fishing net is cast. A wide swath of crime-adjacent area is cordoned off and everyone and everything nearby is detained, locked down, and given a ultra-deep-scan for hours and hours on end.

  2. Dear Eric,

    FYI.

“The news is whatever I say is the news.”
    — David Brinkley, former NBC Anchorman and media industry icon

“What is news? You know what news is? News is what you news directors interpret it as. News is what we at CNN interpret it as. The people of this country see the news that we think they oughta see.”
    — Ted Turner, Founder of CNN

“We are going to impose our agenda on the coverage by dealing with issues and subjects that we choose to deal with.”
    — Richard M. Cohen, former Senior Producer of CBS News

“Our job is to give people not what they want, but what we decide they ought to have.”
    — Richard Salant, former President of CBS News

    • I needed evidence that the MSM “manufactures consent” rather than merely reports the news for an article I wrote years ago.

I was surprised at how frank they were about what they were doing.

I guess they decided the sheeple were so thoroughly conditioned, it wouldn’t matter even if they admitted what they were doing.

      • The MSM admits this only subtly, to the exceptional few and not the great derivative many.

We know China needs capitalist countries to tell it what to produce since socialism has no way to do its own economic calculation.

Perhaps, in that same vein, a few hundred thousand or even a few million non-sheeple are permitted to roam free-range and engage in free-thinking so that the capitalist war economies still have a way to innovate and develop the latest and greatest new products and ideas that only emerge spontaneously among free peoples.

    • Having worked at a major newspaper – and knowing people who’ve worked at other papers – I can confirm from direct personal experience that the quotes above are exactly representative of the mindset and daily practice.
