EV Range Gyp Rant

Why is it that EVs are allowed to advertise wildly inaccurate ranges? If a non-electric car advertised that it averaged 40 MPG but only delivered 28 MPG, there’d be Hell to pay. So why can EVs get away with doing essentially the same thing?

  1. Eric, why would the government care? They’re the ones who started the false advertising- back in the 70’s when the EPA started rating car’s MPGs based on testing which had no correlation to reality, thus spawning the disclaimer:

    “YOUR ACTUAL MILEAGE MAY VARY”.

That sub-2000 lb minimalist Datsun that was rated for 45MPG….in the real world, under best conditions, might get 36MPG…….

So now we have the EV equivalent of that……. brought to you by the same fools who used to preach “Open your house’s windows during a tornado warning, because if a tornado strikes, the open windows will help reduce the pressure differential and thus result in there being less damage”!!!!!!! LO-freaking-L!!!! (They ACTUALLY used to promote that!)
