“Shared Responsibility” – Again

37
2318

I just got a reminder in the mail about why I voted for Trump. It’s the annual letter I get from the three letter agency that tells us how much of the money we worked to earn it says are “owed” to random other people who didn’t work to earn it.

But who voted to have it taken from us, by proxy of the same three-letter agency.

The same three letter agency that became the enforcement apparat for the tax that the Supreme Court – per “conservative” Republican Chief Justice John Roberts – decreed could be imposed on people who did not buy what is styled “health insurance” by the federal government, provided the government called it something else. That something else being a “shared responsibility” payment, as it is styled.

The styling is pure old-fashioned Communism – as Sheriff Buford T. Justice from 1977’s car-chase classic, Smokey and the Bandit put it. Only it’s not funny.

The assertion – made by Barack Hussein Obama, who is a Communist – is that each of us is somehow “responsible” for the “health” of everyone else and they ours.

At gunpoint,  of course.

That is what Communism always comes down to, the effeminate, sitting-around-the-campfire, Kumbaya posturing notwithstanding. “Shared responsibility” has the dual-tone sound of something that is both compassionate and righteous.

Most people want to be responsible – and accept the idea of holding people responsible for what they have done, when what they have done results in harm to others. But that is not the same as being held responsible for others. Or others being held responsible for them.

Mark the distinction.

Obama – and his “care” – says we each are somehow “responsible” for handing over money to the “health insurance” mafia (the words are italicized because health cannot be insured anymore than the future can be assured) and if we do not, then we “owe” money to the federal government.

This, of course, is not a “tax.”

Just as Rachel Levine is not a man. It is a shared responsibility payment.

And “she” really is a woman.

My “shared responsibility” payment comes to just shy of $1,000 now. Tax plus interest. But it could have been and would have been thousands more, because I have never handed over money to the “health insurance” mafia and I never will. For essentially the same reason I never wore the god-damned “mask” the same kinds of people said I had a responsibility to wear.

By now, the annual “shared responsibility” payment would have been several thousand – annually. Because the tax was meant  to increase every year, so as to make it progressively more punitive to shun one’s “responsibility” to hand over money to the “health insurance” mafia – in order to coerce the individual to give in and hand over money to the “heath insurance” mafia.

It was Trump that put a stop to that. He may not have ended Obamacare as he promised he’d do when he was running for president the first time. But after he was elected, he did de-fang Obamacare, by ending the “shared responsibility” payment. The federal government no longer sends you an additional tax bill each year if you have elected not to buy what is styled “health insurance,” as people in what was once a relatively free country were free not to do before Communists began to fundamentally transform America.

And so – thanks to Trump – we are once again free to not buy what is styled “health insurance,” which only ensures that the mafia collects money. Not that you will be “healthy.” Or – for that matter – that you will receive medical treatment as needed and that the cost of that will be paid by the “health insurance” mafia.

Mark the distinctions.

Your health is a function of genetics, habits and luck. You can try to live a healthier life – as by exercising regularly and eating reasonably – but  that does not ensure you will enjoy good health and handing over money to a state-supported, for-profit mafia for insurance most certainly doesn’t ensure it.

Just as wearing a “mask” did not ensure you wouldn’t catch a cold or spread one. But at least the people pushing “masks” on us didn’t send us a tax bill for not wearing the god-damned things.

But why am I – and others – still receiving these letters from the three letter agency stating that we “owe” a “shared responsibility” payment?  Well, because the initial round of taxes weren’t repealed. They were – and continue to be – held in abeyance. Which means that this tax could be re-applied and almost certainly would have been, had the recent election turned out differently.

But – for now – the tax is toothless and the letter can be used as toilet paper because the three letter agency has no power to collect what it says I and other refuseniks “owe” for not sending money to the mafia all those years ago.

So long as I am careful not to be “owed” a “refund” of the money taken from me by the very same three letter agency. Then they’d deduct what I “owe” from the “refund” I would no longer get.

Isn’t government great?

For now, though, I and others who have shunned our “shared responsibility” are safe. For the next four years, at least.

  1. One thing bugging me for a while, maybe someone has the answer?
I read some years ago that IRS is owned by the same group/entity that actually owns the Fed branches, all of them. Is this true?

  2. Can someone please show me a law requiring me to file a federal income tax return?

Last time I check, there WASN’T ONE.

    HINT, HINT.

  3. Being born in america, or simply human, imposes no responsibility to do anything for anyone.

That can only be done through taking an action. Buy a pet, you are responsible for its care and behavior.

The only responsibility anyone has is to leave other people alone.

A lesson the government will never learn.

    • Every mother’s son will agree and will suckle every mother’s teats until weaned, you become aware to be grown up to be an adult to realize that you have to impregnate every mother’s daughter to keep on truckin’… err just so she knows how.

      Too much is never enough.

      How the species survives.

Adam and Eve, chicken and egg, who and what came first.

      Probably Eve.

  4. No way was that Faggot Muhammad Obama gonna extort me. I had a hospitalization/surgical only policy beforehand and when that option was removed, I refused to buy a comprehensive major medical policy given that the last place you’ll ever see me is in a doctor’s office. On my tax return, I checked the box saying I had a policy, but was never asked to provide supporting documentation, and didn’t pay a penny of penalty (protection) money. On the chance they’d withhold it from a refund, I was sure to underpay a little each year, so I’d have a small tax payment. FUCK YOU, FAGGOT OBAMA!!

  5. I remember when Obama came to power in 2009, when he inherited the smoldering ash heap the U.S. economy had become in the credit crash’s wake, he proceeded to hold the nation hostage by proclaiming, “We can’t fix the economy until we fix healthcare!” Thus was Obamacare born.

More than perhaps anything else, Obamacare was likely a trial balloon to see how the typical American would respond to the concept of government mandates (as opposed to laws passed by Congress). It was clearly a test to see how many would comply with the tyrannical dictates, and I’ve no doubt that Washington was pleased with the results, else they would never have been able to pull off the mask mandate debacle of 2020.

Like Eric, I, too, never complied with the “shared responsibility mandate.” I’ve noticed, however, that only rarely have I encountered anyone who admitted to doing the same.

  6. Even though Trump did whatever he did to stop the collection of that “tax”, they still ask the question every year, don’t they? I’m pretty sure TurboTax — which is what I use — has asked the question about being covered ever since Obamacare was started and continues to this day.

That’s why I’m fairly confident they will undo whatever Trump did at some point. It’s all just a wealth extraction scheme anyway, not like it’s for your health.

  7. Years ago,,,, 81-82ish worked for a oil company off shore… Gulf of Mexico. Had 100% medical,,, no premiums. Send them the bills they send the checks. Fantastico.

Then came the HMO’s and PPO’s. It was all over. Now in retirement when we can least afford it, we are paying over $5000 per year and this year the pharmacy costs have tripled/quadrupled.

Soon only government assisted border hoppers staying in five star hotels with gov provided debit cards will have any kind of medical coverage. After the last two hurricanes and the clot shot debacle it should be obvious what corpgov thinks of we citizens.

    • In your side story “If we want your money, We’ll take your money” June 4 2018. That pretty much explains corpgov’s lawless attitude for everything it and its minions do whether it be civil asset forfeiture, income tax, sales tax, inheritance tax, property tax, school tax, medical premiums, license fees etc,,, it’s all robbery.

In that article Erics asks “I wonder how long Americans will continue to squeal.”

Well,,, Americans are still squealing six years later. Even worse,,, Americans are being replaced by their rogue government using their expropriated tax dollars. They say the revolution was started by a two cent tea tax. Well Americans are well past that today and are bent over pulling their ass cheeks apart making way for corpgovs “who’s your daddy”.

  8. Share the news.

    I will.

Arizona is a good place to consider relocating.

Find a place in a smaller town where Arizonans live.

Phoenix has a lot of Phoenicians.

Lots of sand and gravel, mountains that are bare of evergreens, plenty of cacti, lo and behold, there is water, just have to get it there.

Winter weather is better, have to consider that.

Why they are called snowbirds, winters up north are cold as hell on bad days.

    • ‘mountains that are bare of evergreens’ — drumphish

Depends on where you go, Mr D. The Ponderosa pine forest area of Arizona, between the Mogollon Rim and Flagstaff, stays green all year.

Worked on trail layout last Saturday in the Coconino National Forest, at 7,600 feet elevation. Light snow was falling off and on. Definitely a chilly winter day. Not a saguaro in sight — they don’t grow in elevations over 3,000 feet. Whole different biome up here.

      • Depending on where you are in Arizona, here at 3500 plus feet in elevation way down south of Tucson, cacti are plentiful.

Mesquite trees, creosote brush, it’s a desert biome.

When I was at the age of 10 years or so, I would go up into the hills and pick prickly pear cactus berries, they tasted good, you can also see yucca plants. Would find wild onions too. A semi-arid climate with 22 inches of average precipitation.

A climate that reaches 40 below zero in the dead of winter still can let cacti grow.

Makoshika State Park in Montana is high desert, has plenty of cacti there too. It is in an arid stretch in eastern Montana.

Nothing more tenacious than grasses, the grass biome on the Great Plains is a force to be reckoned with.

        Plenty of hay.

  9. All the border jumpers here in WA are clogging up the health care facilities. The larger agricultural town south of us got fed up and many clinics stopped accepting the WA freebe “Apple Care” – now they’re up in my area and it’s weeks to get in for appointments. Take a back seat, taxpayer!

I remember the howls from normal folks with reasonable cost catastrophic care plans, you know how “insurance” is supposed to work? When the Obama crew did away with these with the B.S. “”that’s insufficient coverage”. Thats the rub, “coverage” at eye watering cost, replaced “insurance”. The concept of a “republic” surely was finished off with the implementation of Obama commie care.

  10. I get no such letter and I recommending getting the hell out of commie Virginia ASAP. I lived in a dozen states, moving is no big deal, just run for your life. Just get out the back Jack, make a new plan Stan … get yourself free.

Amerika was run by robber barrons, one of these robber barron types FDR, being a Jew and communist, decided to confiscate our gold, issue fiat, start Social Security, then take the nation to war for international Jewry. WW2 was for Jews to conquer Europe, FDR made a deal with the Rothschilds. Look it up. FDR promised to keep us out of the war. Being a Jew politician, he lied, no surprise.

This issue of shared responsibility, where your paycheck is labeled part of the “national income”, was started under FDR.

    https://www.garynorth.com/public/17240.cfm

    1. Abolition of property in land and application of all rents of land to public purposes.
    2. A heavy progressive or graduated income tax.
    3. Abolition of all rights of inheritance.
    4. Confiscation of the property of all emigrants and rebels.
    5. Centralisation of credit in the hands of the state, by means of a national bank with State capital and an exclusive monopoly.
    6. Centralisation of the means of communication and transport in the hands of the State.
    7. Extension of factories and instruments of production owned by the State; the bringing into cultivation of waste-lands, and the improvement of the soil generally in accordance with a common plan.
    8. Equal liability of all to work. Establishment of industrial armies, especially for agriculture.
    9. Combination of agriculture with manufacturing industries; gradual abolition of all the distinction between town and country by a more equable distribution of the populace over the country.
    10. Free education for all children in public schools. Abolition of children’s factory labour in its present form. Combination of education with industrial production, &c, &c.

    —————

On the way out of office, on his third term, FDR willingly and knowingly dragged the USA into WW2 by allowing Pearl Harbor to happen. (This is exactly what Israel did on Oct. 7th – they allowed Hamas attack to happen, a verifiable fact). War was a power play for Jews to consolidate power over the western world.

Out of that hellish evil 65 million people were killed and the State of Israel was born, Jews were coerced to move there, Hitler even made a deal with the Rabbis for them to go peacefully. Look it up. Hilter gassed zero Jews, the Holocaust narrative is post WW2 propaganda. Hitler was friends with all races, and encouraged Arabs to do exactly what he was doing, creating an ethnic center state for their people. Your worthless schools did not teach you actual history, go research what Hitler really did.

Jews had other plans so Hitler was removed by force. Hitler wanted peace but the Rothschild Jews controlled Brits turned Hitler into the enemy. Like Amerika now, back then Britain was ZOG. Now all of Europe, Canada, Australia, Amerika is owned by Jews, and Jews love war. SO WAR IT IS.

Joe Biden is a slimeball pedo parasite who road the coattails of FDR, who he mentions all the time as the greatest man ever. FDR is Biden’s idol. Biden wants to be the new FDR, but failed, but on his way out may start WW3. Trump has announced on Day 1 he will declare a national emergency and remove all illegals. Well Virginia, those illegals were the dream of Demoncrap forever power, with 50 million illegals they could win every election, or so they thought. Biden tried to stop DJT by ALL means, first by cheating the vote, 20 million illegal ballots, then making him a felon, lawfare, then keeping him off the ballot, then direct assassination attacks, and now going into the actual transfer of power Jan 20th, 2025.

When Biden authorized gay Jew Zelensky to use ATTACKUMS long range missiles, Biden was then spotted south of the equator in the Amazon, after a speech he wandered off into the jungle. Is he coming back? Everyone familiar with all out nuclear war knows it will be limited to the Northern Hemisphere, which is why so many rick fucks have escape hideouts in South Amerika, especially Argentina. Biden just happened to be in Brazil the day after ordering the attacks – which require US satellites, personel, targeting data, etc. It is a direct attack on Russia by the USA and everyone knows it.

It seems to me this is the latest “Hail Mary” pass to keep Trump from taking power. Biden will burn it all down before he ever gives up the power he has. Understand this Biden thing mentality, Communism is motivated by jealousy, Biden hates those that have, so he is part of a system to transfer wealth from A to B. This gives those who start socialism transfer scams power – which Eric rails against. They have power over him, the letter he got is gaslighting niceness. These Commies do not want to give it up their power over you. Trump promises to cancel whole agencies like the Department of Education, gut the FBI, etc. The Bidenistas, still in power, will for sure try to stop him by any means possible, because once Trump is sworn is all is lost for the rest of the century.

Biden, a complete slimeball deep state hack, has stolen elections all through his career, his first ‘win’ was in a all black neighborhood against a black candidate. The likelihood of that is zero. This POS Democrap from hell – in 2003, Biden supported the Iraq War – which killed millions of Iraqis and wounded millions of vets. Biden is a HUGE warmonger, and always has been. That is why you should view Biden’s latest escalation with great alarm. The man WILL burn it all down because of what motivates him.

    • LOL Trump? You gotta be kidding with that nonsense.
His wife is a Jew. His kids are Jews married to (or dating) Jews.
His entire cabinet is an AIPAC fuckfest.
I mean…wow. To get so much right, and then to miss the fact both Trump and Biden have the same JEWISH CABINET…

  11. Health insurance companies have ceos and cfos and agents, and dot gov meddles in all of the business like they own the whole health insurance conglomerate, those guys make millions in pay, salary, while millions struggle to pay for the premiums.

It is a financial abuse of a population.

That is not right, you have to pay through the nose for those big noses to have it all.

That is not how you do it.

Warren Buffet has 328 billion in the bank.

Warren could share responsibility big time.

Doubt he will, but he could.

The elites make sure they make the money, not you.

  12. During the whole COVID hysteria & obsessive vaxx push, many Democrats and Democrat politicians also wanted to FINE people who refused to be guinea pigs for Big Pharma and get vaxxed. IIRC, there was even a bill in Rhode Island that, had it passed, would have taxed parents who didn’t make their children guinea pigs for the Pfizers & Modernas of the world. By the way, once upon a time the Democratic Party bleated about the evils of Big Pharma, but ever since Barack Obama was President, they act like Pharma’s biggest shills, which ought to put to rest this narrative that the D Party is the party of working people.

  13. Great article Eric. I think the collective consciousness in our country is finally starting to shift regarding what constitutes healthy food and real health care, which is essentially the preventative care of a healthy lifestyle.

The average persons trust in the medical system resulting from the covid scamdemic has been reduced with excess deaths and long term health effects now manifesting from the not safe and effective vaccines that did not immunize and peoples experiences with medical care during and in the wake of this. RFK Jr having a spotlight should help accelerate awareness of the damage that government, big pharma and traditional medicine have caused to the health and well being of Americans. It is strange how things seem to change so slowly, then seemingly all at once. Right now it seems like we are living in this world of elites who are at cross purposes with ordinary people and thinking because they have all the money they automatically have all the power.

But this election seems to be changing things already, which is taking me by surprise as I had pretty much lost faith in our ability to change anything. I was convinced our votes were irrelevant and that the elites had locked it all down. They lied to us, over and over, threatened and guilted us, over regulated us, engaged in warfare and are even taking out farmers and ranchers to try to force us to eat bugs and processed crap produced by huge agricultural corporations. Among endless other assaults on our individual liberties.
And yet, it looks like Americans have started to wake up to reality Maybe we aren’t all asleep at the wheel after all.

  14. I got a similar letter, but with a slightly different message.

See, I retired from my career with a major telecom company. The idea was to get my own gig going. The company offered a retirement health benefit, which was one reason I decided to jump off. Turned out that the benefit isn’t offered in my zip code, a fact HR didn’t mention in the closing interviews. So for a few months I had to take COBRA until I figured out what to do. This took a major chunk of my operating capital BTW, but the alternatives weren’t any better. Obamacare is based on your prior year’s income, so I wasn’t eligible for any of the discount plans.

Fast forward a year and now I’m back to a fool-time job. Insurance and property taxes are the main drivers of needing the work. The letter I received said that “Due to my 2023 income I may be eligible for healthcare for as little as $10/month.” Too little, too late unfortunately.

One of the campaign promises made by Harris was that she’d front minority-run startups by $25K (or $50K… don’t recall, don’t care. Could have been $25M and she’d still only get a handful of minority entrepreneurs in the target of her promise). How about just shutting down Obamacare and letting us make our own decisions, like adults?

  15. Not only are insurance mafia criminals they are incompetent idiots as well. My wife had a prolapsed uterus which required removal. The surgery was approved (according to the surgeon’s office) and scheduled for a Monday. My wife (being an accountant) decided to double check with the insurance mafia to ensure the procedure was approved on the Friday before. Sure enough, it was declined, and no one from the mafia informed the surgeon’s office. The insurance mafia couldn’t understand how a guy named Hans had to have his uterus removed. (Nowadays that shouldn’t be questioned if men can get knocked up and need pre-natal care) This would be funny if not for my wife was being prepped for surgery Monday at 7am when the surgeon came it and told her she could not perform the surgery unless it was approved, or they will never pay for an after the fact claim. Luckily, someone from the surgeon’s office got thru to the insurance mafia and got the procedure approved. Just a coding error. No apology, no nothing.

We have third world healthcare now, which we deserve as a banana republic.

    • Eighty-three years ago, Frank Roosevelt turned the US into a Soviet-style command economy during the war years. Prices, wages and rents were regulated by fedgov decree. Unable to compete for scarce workers by offering higher pay, employers instead juiced up ‘fringe benefits’ including indemnity health ‘insurance,’ which weren’t regulated.

So 83 years on, this cockamamie system of linking health coverage to employment, riddled with middlemen third parties, costs twice as much as other developed countries and delivers poorer results.

The costly, floundering US health care cartel is a blight on all of us. Just demolish the whole thing and start over.

      • > employers instead juiced up ‘fringe benefits’
Thank you, Henry J, Kaiser, who was a shrewd business man.

Today, Kaiser Shipyards and Kaiser Steel are gone, but Kaiser hospitals, Now called Kaiser Permanente, remain.

Back in the 1980s, I could stand in my back yard and see the stack plumes from the blast furnaces at Kaiser Steel in Fontana. The blast furnaces are gone now, sold to the Chinese, who shipped them to China. Kaiser Steel blast furnaces live on, making steel in China.

At least some of the scrap to feed the Chinese steel mills comes from the U.S., including the Sims facility (formerly Hugo Neu Proler) @ Terminal Island in So Cal.
        https://www.linkedin.com/posts/sa-recycling_sa-recycling-tour-of-terminal-island-and-activity-6871898184931794944-QYUi
which grinds up cars and other scrap, and ships its product abroad. I played a small part in the installation of the Riverside Engineering Mega Shredder, back in the 1990s, when the facility was called Hugo Neu Proler, and was run by Jeff Neu, a Lehigh graduate.

  16. “For the next four years, at least.”
Provided there are not wholesale assassinations during that four years. Which the commies are all in favor of.

  17. I used to have fantastic health insurance. Then came zerocare. Costs skyrocket every year and the coverage isn’t as good. Yall will be happy to know that as an over-60 man, If I get knocked up, the fedgov requires my insurance provide pre-natal care. Can’t make this shit up.

    • Hi Mike,

Yup. I refuse to be put in the position of having to work just to pay for “insurance.” In my case – self employed – the cost of insurance would leave me almost nothing for anything else, such as food. I much prefer my own form of coverage- which is to not spend money on “coverage” and stay healthy in the meantime.

      • I totally agree with all the points you make. The whole thing stinks and never should have existed to begin with. However, for all the years Zerocare had a tax penalty, there was a hardship exemption on the tax form, the gist of which was very much what you said in your second full sentence in your reply to Mike, that by checking caused there to be no tax liability. I never had health insurance, always claimed the hardship exemption, and never got charged any tax. You could probably re-file the form for the year they’re referencing and do the same to clear this thing from coming around every year.

    • Me too Mike, my employer picked up most of the tab for me and my wife. After Obozocare the subsidies ended and the choices of coverage were narrowed. Of course it won’t matter if senile Joke Biden provokes Putin into nuking the USSA; just saw a news item that nut job Zelensky already launched an American provided missile into Russia.

  18. Your article leaves me wondering if President Trump will do the right thing and finally remove this penalty or leave it in place knowing that GovCo needs the tax money.

Either way he should explain why it has to go or stay. As I’ve asked people in the past would you rather have a government “service” or a reduction in taxes no matter how small it might be. Sadly most people didn’t get it.

    • Trump has made a lot of promises:

      Continue the “tax cuts”
      Reduce Cap Gains tax (again)
      No tax on social security
      No tax on tips

It’s not the taxes so much as the regulations

The fact that a person has to receive a 1099 form for a lousy 0.05 percent interest savings account to say you made 1.38 in interest is insulting.
Maybe he should get rid of that type of thing for people with fewer than $20k in a passbook savings account.

      Sorry for the tangent.
Trump needs to get rid of that healthcare tax. It is perhaps one of the most regressive and punitive taxes in the system. The person least able to afford healthcare is going to pay the tax. Ridiculous.
