You may have caught the news story about the Arizona politician who wants his “speeding” ticket thrown out because he’s a politician. In other words, because he’s not one of us. You know, a tax-cow like us. Livestock. To be herded and used and – most of all – to not complain about any of it:

Aren’t CONgress critters and other politicians also effectively exempt from insider trading laws?
Which would perhaps explain why Nancy Pelosi’s husband is apparently better at stock picking than most hedge funds.
Or why, on entering public office, most of them are not all that rich, but by the time they retire (if ever), they are invariably worth many millions? On salaries that are good, but not exceptional?
Indeed, this is ‘one law for me, another law for thee’.
Tarring and feathering used to be a good antidote for this. Maybe we should bring it back.
Laws that exempt travelling politicians is nothing new. They came about from politicians using their cop buddies to arrest and harass their political opponents. On one level it makes sense but, at the same time it is a damning indictment of The System itself.
Drove into a speed trap and was fined some money.
Just because I pass legislation into law doesn’t mean I have to abide by that law. I need a break, even if I break some stupid law.
Ignorance of the law is no excuse. Fixing stupid is impossible.
If politicians were exempted from the vaccine terror, politicians can be exempted from speeding violations.
You speed on an interstate, not in urban areas or into small towns, speed traps are a dime a dozen in urban areas and small towns.
Police officers at cop shops talk about setting up speed traps, where to park, to be in a place to stop drivers who are speeding.
You do hear such words, they think you aren’t listening.
You are doing a job, new flooring, you are the dumb one.
I’m not deaf, that I know.
You learn a lesson in civics.
The Pope will burn you at the stake if you don’t adhere to his edicts. Giordano Bruno found out the hard way.
Galileo, another heretic, recanted, avoided a lake of fire.
These days, you are executed on the streets in America, too much work to gather fire wood.
You will be compliant, if you are not, we’ll kill you.
In the post-modern world you are Waco-ed then Gazan-ed.
First they came for the Palestinians, however, my tongue was cut out, so I couldn’t speak up.
Banging pots and pans is the last resort.
You’ll be able to hear it all night long.
‘In the post-modern world you are Waco-ed then Gazan-ed.’ — drumphish
‘President Donald Trump said Monday that a precarious ceasefire agreement between Israel and Hamas should be canceled if Hamas doesn’t release all the remaining hostages it is holding in Gaza by midday on Saturday.
‘In comments to reporters after signing a series of executive orders, Trump said, “If they’re not here, all hell is going to break out” and said he feared many scheduled for release are actually already dead.
‘He added the caveat that “I’m speaking for myself. Israel can override it.”’

Trump just told us who is in charge; who makes the decisions.
None dare call it treason.
Hey, Miriam Adelson expects a return on her $100 million investment in the Orange Man.
drumphish speaks with a straight tongue.
First time I think I’ve heard you use the phrase “fucked up”, Eric, though you’re not wrong concerning this hypocrisy.
This happened here in a similar way years back, when some state rep. similarly was dismissive of the idea that he had to obey the road totem in the way the rest of us must. He bragged that he would often do 120, 130, 140 MPH, whatever he felt like, using this same law.
There was an uproar, and the Az legislature said they’d can this law back then, but apparently they did not.
You also might have heard of Arizona Department of Public Safety Director Col. Frank Milstead getting pulled over for doing over 90 MPH in a 75 MPH zone and weaving through traffic in 2019. He, of course, was let off with a “warning”, while most of us might have received a criminal speeding ticket.
Some animals are more equal than others dammit!
It seems ‘the speeding’ happened in my county, which is now caving and dropping the ticket against the indispensable Pubick. The state law is some left over BS from our Wild West past. Perfect example of the Red/blue political dysphoria in Az. Mostly abused by the Pubes as of late, the Donk’s will be highly critical of the law until they take power. Then, they’ll be the ones abusing it, and the Pubes will loudly protest. Its what you get when you consent to vote for the lesser of two evils.
Does this mean we all get to go as fast as Ricky Bobby?
Indeed, Norman –
Also: Very sorry to her about your dad’s passing. I hope you and your family were able to spend time with him and that your memories of him will keep him alive n a way that cannot be taken away from you. Peace, my friend.
Thank you for the kind words, Eric.
Dad and I weren’t very close the last few years, but we managed to put our problems behind us these last few months, so I have no regrets. The death of my mom a couple years back, cut much deeper.
In my previous life, I had to make the long trip to the Kentucky state capital on occasion. It always irked me when I would be passed on the parkway by some state rep or senator (they get their own special license plates) driving way above the speed limit. Since I was a lowly state employee in a state vehicle, I had to drive the limit since state cops LOVED to pull us over. I guess they didn’t want to mess with stopping the state politicians, too much headache.
Article 1 Section 6 Clause 1
The Senators and Representatives shall receive a Compensation for their Services, to be ascertained by Law, and paid out of the Treasury of the United States. They shall in all Cases, except Treason, Felony and Breach of the Peace, be privileged from Arrest during their Attendance at the Session of their respective Houses, and in going to and returning from the same; and for any Speech or Debate in either House, they shall not be questioned in any other Place.
Seems only to apply to federales. Mark Finchem Republicrat. Yavapai County
48 in a 30.
One thing that has really irked me the past several years is politicians, particularly DEMOCRAT politicians, who constantly shriek “Nobody is above the law!”, but then routinely act like THEY’RE above the law. Some good examples would be the 4 years of the Biden-Harris regime.
And then of course, during COVID hysteria, we’ve had politicians & bureaucrats who broke their own “public health diktats” with impunity (Gavin Newsom, Nancy Pelosi, Tony Fauci, etc.) while small businesses and ordinary people who disobeyed such diktats were fined hundreds if not thousands of dollars.
….politicians….
And….were exempt from the injections……
not the target of the slave herd reduction agenda…..
administrators for the slave owners…..
From what i have heard, the lawsuits resulting from those psy-ops are still being sorted out in the court system.
“And then of course, during COVID hysteria, we’ve had politicians & bureaucrats who broke their own “public health diktats” with impunity…”
Quit your whining! I wanna stay home and get paid to watch Netflix, dammit! lol
I would propose that all speed limits be eliminated along with all speedometers. In this scenario one would be forced to pay attention to their surroundings and conditions lest they find themselves in a crash worthy moment.
I think you could say that lack of situational awareness is the cause of most crashes and harm done. However, the Criminal [In]Justice system would find its cash flow severely restricted along with the Insurance Mafia and we can’t have that now can we.
The bottom line is it’s not about criminals or justice but, it’s all about The System.
“The bottom line is it’s not about criminals or justice but, it’s all about The System.”
Exactly! “Cops” have become nothing more than MERCENARIES, who are assigned to KILL INNOCENT PEOPLE, for the “crime” of wanting to be left alone!
