When the Left was in charge, any speech that disagreed with the narratives being pushed by the Left – for example, that “masks” served to “stop the spread” – was delegitimized as “misinformation.” Now that the Right is in charge, any criticism of the policies or actions of the government of the state of Israel is about to be criminalized.
A vote was scheduled to take place in the House this week on something called the Anti-Boycott Act (H.R. 867) that, if it becomes law, will legitimize federal prosecution of anyone who “participates” in boycotts of Israel or its “settlements,” as its land seizures, forcible evictions and occupations of land previously settled by other people are styled.
That comment just indicted me – potentially. Under the tenets of H.R. 867, I could face a fine of up to $1 million and potentially 20 years in prison. Such comments, you see, constitute “anti-Semitism,” a crime far worse than raping underage girls (i.e., the Epstein list) which the institutional Right stopped caring about very shortly after it took power away from the Left. There is now “no specific timeline” for the dangled promise of arrests that are likely to never happen – because those criminals are not a priority.
Intimidating (a priori) anyone who might be thinking of doing something to peacefully protest the actions and policies of the government of the state of Israel is. Note the italics. Withholding one’s business – which is what a boycott is – as a means of expressing disapproval of the actions or policies of the entity being boycotted – is about to be criminalized. But only as regards any boycotting of Israel. The Right was all aboard – when it was out of power – when people who disagreed with say Bud Light for pushing the “trans” agenda expressed their revulsion by boycotting Bud Light.
But, you see, it is never acceptable to express revulsion (via disassociation) about anything done by the government of the state of Israel.
One must always support the government of Israel. Anything less is . . . well . . . you know.
The government of the state of Israel – like the Fuhrer of National Socialist Germany, interestingly – is always right. More finely, it is always in the right. And anyone who says otherwise is “anti-Semitic,” i.e., they loathe people who happen to be Jewish on account of the fact that they happen to be Jewish.
This is also interesting in view of the fact that the current Fuhrer of the state if Israel is not himself a Semite. He calls himself Benjamin Netanyahu but his surname is Mileikowsky and he is ethnically a Pole ; i.e, of eastern European origins. It is hard to divine how it is possible to be an “anti-Semite” for questioning the actions of a man who is not a Semite.
It is also hard to understand how it is that questioning what is done by the government of the Jewish state constitutes loathing of Jews. The Right used to rightly point out that it is not “hateful” to question that business of permitting men to use the women’s room because men are not women; i.e., to raise objections based upon facts. The Left’s tactic has been to shout-down facts by impugning motives. And now the Right is doing precisely the same thing.
You are a Jew-hater if you express unease about what is going on in Gaza; are troubled by what appears to be a scorched earth policy horribly reminiscent of what was done to people who happened to be Jewish by the troops of National Socialist Germany in Warsaw, Poland – the irony! – in the closing days of World War II. It is to become a crime – punishable by up to 20 years in prison – to express horror over what is going on by boycotting the government of the state that is doing it – and doing it, to a very great extent, with money extracted from American taxpayers who are deeply uncomfortable about being complicit in these horrors.
Just as many on the Right were not wanting to be complicit in the lesser horror of financially supporting Target for targeting children with LBGTQ+ propaganda in the latter’s stores. Imagine if the Left – when it was in power – had put forth legislation that would have criminalized such peaceful expressions of dissent and targeted dissenters with fines of up to $1 million and up to 20 years in prison.
The Right would have been in an uproar.
Now the institutional Right is an uproar – over any questioning of anything the government of the state of Israel and its lobby does. Of any raising of questions about the degree of influence – of pressure – wielded by that lobby over the representatives (sic) of the people of the United States of America.
It is all extremely “anti-Semitic.”
And it may soon be a greater crime than murder.

I really don’t think Netanyahu is ethnically Pole. His parents lived in Poland and their family name appeared Polish, but there were many Jews living in Poland before WW2 and quite many of them had last names that resembled Polish. Probably the name was changed after getting to Israel to fit in better for the Middle Eastearn Jews.

I’m a libertarian; or rather, I adhere to libertarian ideas. Including – fundamentally – the idea that each individual is just that and has a right to be treated (respected as) as an individual, on his merits (or lack thereof) and not on account of a collective association with a group of any kind, especially those he is only “associated” with in terms of factors he has no control over or say in, such as the sex or color or ethnicity he (or she) was born into. To condemn a man because he is a white male – or a black male or a Jewish male – and for no other reason is absurd and vicious. This is self-evident to me. I understand that one can point to generalities and that there is often truth to them, in a general sense. It still does not absolve us of our obligation as human beings to treat other human beings the same as we’d want to be treated – as good (or bad) people, based on what we do rather than what others think our group is guilty of having done.
Ironically, it is precisely “Talmudism” to condemn whole people groups.

Frankly, I’m skeptical about this alleged vote taking place today.
Why? Because the bill falls under the jurisdiction of the House Foreign Affairs Committee, and the committee hasn’t voted it out yet. Nor does it appear on the committee’s schedule today.
I’m not going to say that it’s impossible for the Israel Lobby to suspend the rules and whoop through a bill that hasn’t made it out of committee — for instance, by attaching H.R. 867 to the big budget reconciliation bill which is this week’s main focus in the House.
But provisionally, I’m calling bullshit on this alleged vote today. I don’t believe it. The only documentation I can find is a reddit post at r/politics which has been removed by the moderators.
