Maybe someone should tell Trump that battleships are history.
Literally.
They became obviously obsolete some 84 years ago, when carrier-based Japanese airplanes sank several of them at Pearl Harbor. Those, of course, were literally sitting ducks. And they were all old battleships, dating back to WW I.
But the German battleship Bismarck was state of the art when she was crippled while maneuvering out in the open ocean, firing her main and secondary armament futilely at slow-flying WW I-era biplanes sicc’d at her by the pursuing British. One of these rickety old airplanes dropped a torpedo that struck the Bismarck’s stern and crippled her by jamming her rudders. All she could do after that was turn in a wide circle. The British fleet that was chasing her caught up and methodically blasted Bismarck into a smoldering hulk.
Later in the war, the Japanese did the same to the British battleship Prince of Wales, which had scrapped with the Bismarck and her consort, the heavy cruiser (small battleship, basically) Prinz Eugen. The British battleship was also brand-new and state-of-the-art. It now lies on the bottom, courtesy of the Japanese navy. Ditto brand-new Italian battleships that were trying to surrender to the allies when the Germans sank them from above, using the Fritz X – the first “smart” bomb ever used in war.
Near the very end of the war, the mightiest battleship that ever put to sea – the Yamato – which was estimated to displace 70,000 tons (20,000 tons more than Bismarck) and carried astounding 18 inch main guns and that had the thickest armor of any battleship ever made – was sunk by carrier aircraft of the US Navy as it flailed helplessly batting at them with its mighty but essentially impotent armament.
The point being that battleships are magnificent as museum ships. Their mighty guns are awesome to see – in port. At sea, they are essentially useless – as weapons – because the range of their main guns is at most about 25 miles – and because their armored flanks can be holed and the ship sunk by missiles fired at them from very far away that probably cost less than the cost of a single secondary gun on the battleship.
It’s the same, by the way, for the aircraft carriers that took the place of battleships as the pride of the fleet. A jihadi in a HiLux with a single shoulder fired missile can send one to the bottom. Big ships can flex power but – like bodybuilders – it is chiefly flexing.
Does he even know what a battleship is? Or does he just think they’re really big and beautiful ships and for just those reasons they ought to be brought back? For swagger’s sake?
He says he wants to name them after himself, too. A whole fleet of them. He says he is an “aesthetic” man – an interesting self-appraisal given his penchant to gold-plate everything like a ’70s mafioso.
“They’ll be the fastest, the biggest, and by far 100 times more powerful than any battleship ever built,” says Trump. He says they will be – of course – “beautiful.” A Golden Fleet. “I’m a very aesthetic person and I don’t like some of the ships you’re doing aesthetically,” he told the Navy.
Their stealth tech is “ugly,” you see.
What’s beautiful, of course, are the billion-dollar golden contracts that will line the pockets of the builders of this Golden Fleet.
How long before Golden Caligulas replace dollars? In case you’re not familiar, the Roman emperor Caligula decreed his own feces would serve as currency. Are we really that far from that?
Probably not.

During World War Two the lost Bismarck had a sister ship the Tirpitz. You don’t hear much about it in the history books. Why? Because it sat in port for all of the war. The Germans realized at least that putting it out to sea would probably mean it would get sunk too. So it was sent to about the furthest north they could send it. To a port very far north in NORWAY (it’s actually still there, at least what is left of it).
At least the Nazis were smart enough to not bother to build any more of them too. But yet even though it wasn’t much of a threat to really anything, the British still spent an enormous amount of time and resources trying to destroy it. It was hard to attack, since it was so far away from the active war (if anything it was more of a threat to the Soviet Union’ Arctic shipping channels). They managed to damage it a number of times over the war, and the Nazis still wasted time and resources repairing it every time as well. For it to just sit there.
They didn’t manage to sink it for good until 1944, so basically towards the end of the war.
Peace on earth, good will toward men. Impossible you say? It is possible if we listen to The Prince of Peace and ignore the politicians, bureaucrats and war mongers. Let our ancestors be our guide.

“Probably not,” is probably correct.
Why does he want to construct those sitting hulks of steel? I can’t think of a reason, let alone a good reason. Probably because there isn’t one. Maybe I’m just being negative, because reasons. Or maybe President Trumpenstein can show a good reason for these useless hulks of steel just sitting there for target practice.
I like the idea of a couple as a show/flagship, but even aircraft carriers are obsolete for peer fighting and these new battleships don’t have the big impressive guns. What is a ship going to do against a hypersonic ballistic missile like the ones we’ve seen in Ukraine? That one came from near space at meteor speeds with an iron warhead only, causing a big crater. That would go through any ship from the top, even an old armored battleship and a laser doesn’t have time to stop it. Not to mention submarine threats. I understand why Russia puts most money into submarines and not their surface fleet that is slowly degrading away. China is using the old- quantity is a quality of its own-method by out manufacturing everyone with cheap simple stuff.
But, But, these battleships will have a “Laser” weapon that “Goes Up To Eleven”.
Meanwhile back in the real world

The new money as in Trump Turds? In early 2026, the federal deficit will blast past $39 trillion. It is now speeding at a rate of about $1 trillion every 2 months. Thankfully, the government is in its end days. We see the same thing from El Trumpo that we saw in the dying days of many an empire…extravagant spending on useless nonsense in an attempt to deflect the public from viewing the destruction of their country. With the US Navy light years behind in building its new sub fleet, will building this new battleship fleet be farmed out to China? The cost to the navy would probably drop 60%.
This Orange Pin-head is a CHILD! A narcissistic spoiled ill-tempered nasty and ignorant child. To think that this is what it has come to, that such a man could run a country. Even if I were a statist, I’d be mortified. Even if I agreed with his BS, I’d be embarrassed just by his flaming narcissism and staggering ignorance! I don’t even think he’s intelligent enough to realize how foolish he looks. It’s beyond the point of just acting dumb to appease one’s voter base; this guy isn’t acting at this point. Truly terrifying!
You got it right. Just like mom Mary Trump did. Too bad many others didn’t/don’t.
In the Jew news, el dictator Trumpenstein is going to garnish wages of those with unpaid student loans come January. LOL
“The Trump administration will begin garnishing wages from student loan borrowers in default starting January 7, 2026.”
as he hands his jew buddies billions he wants more of your money! gotta have all of your money so he can fork over record amounts to the War Department and wars for Israhell, not to mention golden battleships
Trump has gone totally cra cra
Anyways, like I said, the big Orange Dumpenstein is handing the 2026 midterms to the Demoncraps who promised to forgive all student loans.
Morning, Jack!
Guy I know at the gym is a doctor; he’s in his 50s and still has medical school loans to pay off. I am grateful that I was either too dumb to go to medical school – or smart enough to not go!
College has become one of the biggest rackets in America. Tuition costs are simply ridiculous — and they are ridiculous because Uncle Sugar guarantees the money, no matter how absurd. Student loans have eliminated “price discovery”‘ and free-market competition for best educational value at lowest cost.
Worse, the quality of education has declined as the cost went up.
As an undergraduate in the 1980s my tuition at a state college was $675 per semester. I was only in debt $5000 for mu undergraduate degree and two postgraduate degrees.
Hi Eric.
Merry Christmas to you and your family! As for carriers, you are exactly right. They are much like the battleships of old. Slow moving targets to hyper sonic missiles, sea skimming cruise missiles and many other such. They make zero sense in todays world. As for student loans, they are just one of many methods of controlling people and their lives.
Merry Christmas to everyone.
Alastair Crooke, a former British Intelligence agent, details another horrendous thing Nixon did to us, after delinking the dollar from gold:
‘Through the ‘Nixon-Golda Meir Understandings’ initiated by Henry Kissinger fifty years ago, Israel was granted a unique American exemption from the obligation to join the Nuclear Nonproliferation Treaty.
‘The U.S., for its part, set conditions for this unique nuclear status: Israel would not declare that it had nuclear weapons and would not conduct a nuclear test. This is Israel’s policy of nuclear ambiguity.’
https://www.unz.com/acrooke/trump-morphs-from-asset-to-liability-for-israel/
Then Crooke quotes a rather dire-sounding threat from Israeli commentator Alon Mizrahi:
“If [Trump] stays in office and remains adamant on pursuing financial gains while enjoying a pro-Zionist aura and delivering nothing substantial for Israel, I just can’t see how they’re going to let [sic] him continue.”
“They’d much rather he just disappeared.”
So is Benny N going into next week’s Trump meeting with a snub-nosed revolver, an exploding cigar … or a packet full of anthrax?
This could be curtains for Donnie. 🙁
(“They’d much rather he just disappeared.” So is Benny N going into next week’s Trump meeting with a snub-nosed revolver, an exploding cigar … or a packet full of anthrax?)
Don’t have to do any of that, all they have to do is expose his Epstein files on him – and Trump would be a goner.

Battleships are “noisier” and easier to detect than a true stealth vessel. I say bring back Galleons! A true warship for those who believe in empire building.
There’s no shortage of money in the Pentagon’s budget to satisfy any new Trump brain fart; from Space Wars to battleships.
After all, they never need to actually pass an audit, unlike a privately owned business. Rules are only there for those who are not in the club.
$3 trillion has been missing for 15 years now — soon to be $5 trillion.
$150 billion for the Ukies disappeared down a black hole of fraud.

Gee, I wonder why Mike CUCKabee would say this:
Antiwar headline – “Huckabee Says Iran Didn’t ‘Get the Full Message’ in Last US Bombing as Israel Pushing for Another War”
“Donald Trump is scheduled to meet with Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu on December 29, 2025. The meeting will take place at Trump’s Mar-a-Lago estate in Florida”
gee willikers batman you don’t think those two are planning on an Iran strike over new year while we are all distracted do ya?
the big joke is that cuckabee is full of shit, if trump had not intervened and the iran missile barrages had continued, israel would of been completely destroyed
so if you are paying attention, and reading my comment below, israel’s days are numbered, the crazy jews just don’t know when they are beat
Golden
BattleshipsBullion BarsGold blew through $4,500 today, reaching $4,520/ounce.
Stand back — Pooch Screwer in Chief at Work!
gold going vertical IMO is a bad omen and a prelude to soaring interest rates – remember how gold went exponential in the 1970s that led to record high rates and mortgages above 17% – and the national debt had yet to reach the first trillion
Gold thrives on chaos, whether monetary or political (e.g., warmongering).
Trumpstein is delivering both in spades. His meeting with Netanyahu next week is foolish and traitorous. But it very effectively destroys confidence in the dollar.
‘I have directed Secretary Connally to suspend temporarily [sic, LOL] the convertibility of the dollar into gold or other reserve assets. Let me lay to rest the bugaboo of what is called devaluation. Your dollar will be worth just as much tomorrow as it is today. The effect of this action will be to stabilize the dollar.’ — Richard M Nixon, Aug 15, 1971
How did that ‘temporary’ suspension work out for us?
Gold is Trump’s kryptonite. 🙁
Silver price today at 4:59 PM- $71.73 Per Ounce.
A silver cross held up to his face also will make Donnie scream and run, foaming at the mouth.
the big psychological threshold is $100 per ounce
this is an excellent video of what silver is worth – based on energy and material costs to get it and refine it:
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=2UMTa7_MYn0
up in Idaho, the big mines cost is $12 to 15 an ounce
And my lovely stacks of silver would be at $72/oz if only they hadn’t all sunk with my rowboat and all those ugly peashooters. Damn the luck!
Delusional Trump reminds me of ancient Rome and it’s collapse … believe it or not, there is a debate online about who Trump is more like, Caligula or Nero. One Christian monk who goes by Brother Paul even thinks Trump is the antichrist, and runs a site called Antichrist 45. Back in the first century A.D., early Christians considered Nero to be the antichrist.
https://duckduckgo.com/?q=who+is+trump+more+like+caligula+or+nero&t=brave&ia=web
—————–
A big clue that modern day imperial Amerika was flowing like ancient Rome was the “Letter from America” by Alistair Cooke – he said the United Nations intervention in Bosnia, the failure of Bill Clinton to act on the crisis, and the inspiration the president may draw from Roman Emperor Tiberius. So I postulated that since Trump is like both Caligula and Nero, and Israel’s end draws near …
Clinton = Tiberius
Trump 1.0 = Caligula,
Biden = Claudius,
Trump 2.0 = Nero
Nero dies and the temple is destroyed 2 years later in July-August 70 A.D. by Titus
So I predict Israel is sacked 2 years after Nero Trump is forced to resign (sex scandal litigation after the midterms?). Trump, like Nero, will be remembered for sexual scandals. There is an even chance IMO that Trump does not finish his second term.
“By 68 CE, Emperor Nero’s reign had spiraled into tyranny, extravagance, and political instability.”
“On June 9, 68 A.D. the Roman Emperor Nero Claudius Caesar Augustus Germanicus – better known simply as Nero – committed suicide”
“Emperor Nero — died by his own hand after being declared an enemy of the state by the Roman senate.”
(well Virginia, the idea that Congress declares Trump the enemy of the state certainly could happen)
—————
And I also predict that Trump has taken this loyalty to Israel to such an extreme, that just as Nero ended the Julio-Claudian dynasty, Trump’s eventual inglorious end will end the Neocon influence in national politics – the end of the Bush-Neocon dynasty.
In ancient Rome, the end of Nero led to chaos and the year of 4 emperors – and we are certainly in a position right now to have an internal civil war as different interests vie for power. That ended when the Roman General Vespansian took the throne in 68 AD
Don’t you know, Trump wants in invade Greenland with Golden Battleships and sharks with lasers on their forehead.

I no longer listen to anything Orange Nero has to say, I would rather listen to hogs feeding than his pontifications and endless bullshitting. He is in big trouble, Bondi is probably going to jail and he needs endless distractions because he was in on it with Epstein, part of a underaged girl trafficking ring IMO.
—————–
Orange man in big trouble: from the Miami Herald today:
“Jeffrey Epstein’s brother, Mark Epstein, told the FBI in 2023 that Epstein was murdered in his jail cell because he was about to “name names.”
Mark Epstein, 71, who has long believed that his brother was killed, also alleged in the tip that President Donald Trump “authorized” the late sex traffickers murder.”
imagine my shock lol, next we will learn that Trump authorized the assassination of Charlie Kirk by an Israeli security team and Erika Kirk, his handler and fake Truman Show wife, was in on it. (not kidding)
Oh dear oh my the USS Titanic Trumpenstein is sinking and the rats are jumping overboard

As mentioned in a comment below, there are only two classes of ships: submarines and targets. Trumpenstein just wants another “golden” monument to himself, he’s like a dog marking everything in sight by pissing on it. I think I’ll make up a couple of plaques labeled ‘Trump Toilet’ and fasten them to my toilets so I can figuratively piss on him. We should start a go fund me campaign to hire a construction crew to go around and remove his name from every building he’s defiled with it.
Also wtf is up with Trumpenstein’s fetish for gold? He wants to be a king so I guess King Midas is his role model, might want to keep in mind it didn’t end well for Midas.
LOL.
I love it, Mike.
Go for it. 🙂
Don’t forget his campaign gold sneakers.
He stuck his name above The Kennedy Center, no shit:

One explanation I heard: even 62 years after assassinating JFK, Israel still hates him for trying to stop its nuclear program and register AIPAC as a foreign lobby.
So Israel’s lawn jockey Trump is defacing any public structure bearing the name Kennedy. Watch him start in on RFK stadium next.

The Jews really hate JFK, and I first learned this 20 years ago on a Seinfeld show, this one which they destroy JFK’s golf clubs:
“The Bottle Deposit” is a two-part episode, the 131st and 132nd episodes, and 21st and 22nd episodes of the seventh season, of the NBC sitcom Seinfeld, first aired on May 2, 1996.
https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/The_Bottle_Deposit
Jerry Seinfeld said this year all Palestinians should be killed, doesn’t give a rat’s ass about any of them
I think it’s only 2 battleships they are talking about? Guessing Atlantic and Pacific?
It could be a pretty big diversion tactic that would attract countless enemy vessels?
IF we could avoid the grift to build a couple, it could be a good thing.
No way an enemy would want those things anywhere near their coasts.
“I’m a very aesthetic person and I don’t like some of the ships you’re doing aesthetically,” he told the Navy. — eric
“‘What is proposed is like a monstrous carbuncle on the face of a much-loved and elegant friend.” — Prince Charles on the National Gallery, 1984
So our haughty overlords have opinions about aesthetics. BFD. So do we.
My late cousin Grady likened politicians unto urinals: necessary plumbing fixtures, but inherently unglamorous. And unlike politicians, we get to pee freely on them without consequence.
Deranged Donnie is veering farther into madness every day.
Any news from the Greenland front, comrades?
I heard part of his statement and the first take was ‘he’s starting to lose it” as in cognitive skills.
He’s long past “starting” to lose it 😆
Meanwhile, yesterday was the deadline for “government agencies” to audit DJI drones and determine if they’re a threat to US sovereignty. Because no agency stepped up to perform the audit, as of now any new foreign (Chinese) manufactured drones won’t be allowed to be imported. Given that DJI is 75% of the global drone market, banning them from the US is going to set back the US by 10 years or more.
From the Public Notice:
“The Federal Communications Commission’s (FCC or Commission) Public Safety and Homeland
Security Bureau (PSHSB) maintains a list of equipment and services (Covered List) that have been determined to “pose an unacceptable risk to the national security of the United States or the security and safety of United States persons…” PSHSB announces the addition of uncrewed aircraft systems (UAS) and UAS critical components produced in foreign countries to the Covered List.”
The public notice goes on to state that “(unmanned aerial systems) are inherently dual-use: they are both commercial platforms and potentially military or paramilitary sensors and weapons.” So does that mean I have a 2nd amendment right to fly my drone?
Fact is, the Golden Fleet will be vulnerable to attacks by $500 quadcopters. This is the great lesson from Ukraine, where 100 years of tank warfare strategy was rendered obsolete by FPV drones dropping grenades in open hatches. We know drone delivery is effective because it was beta tested in prison yards. The reason why cheap Chinese drones are being banned isn’t because they’re spy tools, it’s because there’s no one keeping track of who buys them. Not to mention the FAA lost control of the sub-400 foot airspace and is desperate to grab it back.
Pray tell, why can’t we make them here? DJI makes a nice drone, without question but we can build better.
We absolutely can, and do. But the question is can we sell them for an acceptable margin to the VC boys and at a price that is comparable to Chinese manufacturers? I have no doubt we can build a superior product, I’ve flown them. The issue becomes are US companies willing to lose money to build market share? Are we willing to expend R&D on camera tech that is tightly integrated into the platform, not bolted on Sony mirrorless cameras? Are these companies willing to let a market grow organically or chase after the low hanging fruit of defense contracts and federal grants for first responders?
Are any of these companies run by drone enthusiasts? I think that’s an important question to ask, many of the people I met over the years weren’t interested in the defense market, but they also were positioning themselves in the utility and surveying markets. No American companies were even considering hobby markets after Skydio ended production of the S2 series (which were built in Taiwan, IIRC).
More Trump-as-TR revanchism. The guy’s mindset is 1900-1945. This is nothing more than imperial hubris, except that unlike the Great White Fleet of 1907, the empire is in decline, not ascendancy.
Battleships have no useful purpose other than cruising them offshore to intimidate hapless Third Worlders like the Gazans, who attacked Israel with fucking motorized parachutes and AKs.
Against a peer enemy they are “as useless as teats on a boar hog” — or worse, a big fat target.
The problem with ZOG is that it has not faced a peer adversary since 1945, which gives it an inflated sense of hubris. But in the intervening years it has not done terribly well against low-tech insurgents, either. If ZOG got into an actual shooting war with China it would suffer one of the most humiliating defeats in military history. The Chinese would absolutely eat our lunch while our grrl-boss dyke naval commanders flailed about helplessly and got their volunteer-mercenary sailors killed for nothing…

The United States of America is so massive, so rich, so prosperous and attractive to just about everyone else in the world, historically, why are we ever “at war” with anyone?
How many years worth of GDP spent on the stupid military over the last 120 years, about 90% wasted?
To physically defend ourselves we literally only need a powerful Navy, our nuclear missiles, and a small Marine corp and Army.
Oh, and intelligent leadership that actually adheres to basic Constitutional principles and non-agression…you know the whole “…beware of foreign entanglements” that G. Washington mentioned. Its pretty simple. We have (had) the economic, cultural, and political might to influence world affairs with diplomacy. National strength is built by strong economic, cultural and political values, not by building up a massive military behemoth. A military is useless unless used.

“There are two kinds of ships, submarines and targets” (Col Doug Macgregor).
The surface Navy is only effective against nations without hypersonic missile technology. A war with Russia or China and our entire carrier fleet could be sunk in the first few weeks. Even the Houthis with their drones scared off the Navy in the Red Sea area as it became too expensive to shoot them all down.
150 METER UNCUT FOOTAGE OF UNDERWATER ATOMIC BLAST 1958
“Wahoo blast the test conditions were met on May 16 1958 allowing for the nuclear device to be detonated. Within a second of detonation, a spray dome was created that reached a height of 840 feet (260 m) after seven seconds… The diameter of the spray dome was approximately 3,800 feet (1,200 m) at the 20 second mark… The nuclear blast was calculated to be 9 kilotons of TNT (38 TJ). All fallout stayed within the predicted fallout area with a maximum of 0.030 R/hr. The target ship at 5,900 yards (2.9 nmi; 3.4 mi; 5.4 km) was directly hit by the shockwave, vibrating the entire ship and shaking it violently. The Moran merchant marine ship moored at 2,346 feet (715 m) away was immobilized due to shock damage to its main and auxiliary equipment while also suffering minor hull damage. One hour and ten minutes after detonation, a five-gallon water sample was taken directly above the blast location showing 5 R/hr. The retrieval team entered a 3.8 R/hrfield after an hour and thirty five minutes.”
The Golden Fleet sounds a lot like Keynesian make work projects. People forget that US manufacturers pivoted quickly to building war materiel after Pearl Harbor. Yes, there was an established fleet but nothing like the scale once the US got into fighting. Conventional war is all about numbers and the US had more in the pipeline than Germany could ever match.
