It’s very Christmas quiet here, probably because it’s 3:21 in the morning, Christmas Day, as I type this. I like this time of day-night because everything’s peaceful and still, even the cats! Ancient Beezy – she’s 21 – sits to my left snoring. Toothless – who isn’t, actually; his name derives from his looking like the dragon in the kids’ movie when he was a kitten – is curled up somewhere with his buddy Stanley and Simon was with me until I got up to make coffee. Dawn hopefully didn’t hear me slip out of the room to make the Christmas coffee, most of which I’ll probably drink before she gets up.
But I’ll make another pot before she does!
Meanwhile, I wanted to get this Christmas card up, to wish everyone peace and good cheer on this day.

Cats can live 21 yrs? Wow. I did Not know that. I got two baby barn-kittens this year and they both already used up at least one life.

Yup. I think the record is 30-something. My Beezy cat is going to be 22 in 2026. She’s a tough ol’ gal!

Merry Christmas to you Eric and the herd of cats. We only have one ,Hugo, who is part Maine coon has a long wheel base and 23 claws. Thinks he’s a dog as he follows me around the house and property like a new puppy. He figures I should be up at 5 am every morning.

Maine Coons are impressive cats. I’ve yet to have one myself but hope to, one day. The quality I most admire that cats have is they are such independent creatures and you have to earn their trust and affection.
I spent yesterday driving from point A to point B. 24 hours of interstate cruising, with stops for fuel and food and sleeping at rest stops making the total runtime about 36 hours. With accounting for all the time on the ground, probably faster than flying and no hassles.
I didn’t tell anyone but my boss and my family, no background checks, no TSA fondling, just drive. Driveway to driveway, at my own pace, stopping when I want, refueling in minutes.
Don’t let them take that away from us!

Merry Christmas everyone! I was up early too, appreciate the quiet morning time. Unexpected was a white Christmas morning, what a treat. Outdoor lights and our 5’ evergreen at the front entry with Christmas lights looked dandy with a dusting of snow in the early morning darkness.
