Tainting the Brand

2923

Donald Trump was just-barely-elected (a Reagan-esque landslide 2024 was not; Trump achieved a narrow plurality that won him the Electoral College vote that makes a narrow victory seem like a much more impressive popular mandate) because just enough people decided he could not possibly be worse than Kamala Harris and Tim Walz.

Many of those Trump voters are beginning to think they may have been wrong about that.

Trump’s first few months were encouraging. He appeared to be going after the federal bureaucracy, root and branch. Then all of that just sort of evaporated. The Department of Government Efficiency? It has gone the way of Trump’s assurances that he would end the war in Ukraine – or at least, end U.S. support for the regime in Keeeeeeeeeeeeeev that refuses to end it. The war not only continues, it is getting more serious precisely because the regime in Keeeeeeeeeeeeeeeev is being led to believe it can continue to expect U.S. support.

That is to say, U.S. taxpayers being forced to support it.

Bad enough. But – to be fair – that war is not Trump’s fault. At least insofar as him starting it. The war being waged against Venezuela, on the other hand, is entirely Trump’s work. It is doubtful many of the people who voted for Trump because they thought they were voting for no new wars thought they were voting for this.  Tom Woods once quipped that it seems no matter who you vote for, John McCain always gets elected. He was slightly wrong about that. Trump is doing a fine job of channeling George W. Bush – even to the extent of his squinty-eyed lectures about “weapons of mass destruction.”

Also like The Chimp, Trump insists the economy is doing great – and it is, for the millionaire investor class. For the Deplorable class that hoped for better times, not so much. An objective measure of the truth about the situation is the rising cost of precious metals. “Rising cost” hardly covers it. An ounce of silver that could be purchased for about $23 just three or so years ago is now selling for nearly $70 and one ounce of gold approaches $5,000. This is a metric of the collapse of the buying power of the dollar and since most Americans get paid in dollars rather than silver and gold, they are increasingly the poorer for it.

The things that are existential for most Americans – such as rents and mortgages, food and medical treatment – cost more dollars than ever and most people haven’t got the more dollars needed to keep up with that.

These are serious matters. There are also the other matters that are unserious but nonetheless consequential – for the Trump brand. These include his gratuitous utterances such as his recent cruel and oafish derision of murdered Hollywood director Rob Reiner and his wife. His obnoxious re-naming of the John F. Kennedy Center in Washington after himself. His apparent intention to name Dulles International Airport after himself. His demo’ing of the East Wing of the White House to erect a monstrous (supposed) ball room in honor of himself. The Triumphal Arch. The Golden Battleships – named after himself, again.

It’s almost as if he’s trying to ruin the brand. More finely, trying to generate contempt for the nationalist-populist movement that just-barely managed to keep Harris-Walz out of office – and he’s doing a beautiful job of that.

Probably a third-to-half of the bloc that voted for Trump regrets having voted for Trump and that by itself is a portent of things to come. How about the people on the razor’s edge who decide most elections in this country; i.e., the so-called “swing” and “independent” voters? How many of them are not just disillusioned but disgusted?

The recent state-level elections in Virginia and New Jersey as well as the mayoral election in New York City are a metric of this disillusion and disgust. It is not merely that anti-Trump Democrats (the term soft-pedals the reality that “Democrats” are authoritarian socialists and that’s being hopeful about them) won these elections but that they won them by devastating majorities. No razor-thin wins, these.

It is probably not that most Americans want authoritarian socialism. It is that many Americans are sick of a bullying, narcissistic con man who increasingly shows signs that he is literally demented or perhaps suffering from early stage dementia.

Unfortunately, they equate him with nationalism-populism and that may be precisely what his second term was meant to accomplish. That is to say, his purpose – more finely, the purpose of those behind Trump – was to put the final nail in the coffin of nationalism and populism as a viable political movement in this country.

When he finishes discrediting the brand, people will be clamorous for a new brand. The brand that voters in Virginia and New Jersey recently voted for by near double-digit majorities.

It’s going to be . . . huge.

  1. Now I remember why I stopped coming here… If you believe Trump just barely won, then you must believe the machine vote totals, in which case, I have a bridge to sell you.

That vague sense of urgency IIRC was to OVERCOME the FRAUDulent voting machines.

Has it been a shitshow? Sure, but don’t try and argue that it was too close to call.

    Peace.

    • Hi Steve,

Numerically, Trump’s win was slight. The Electoral College vote made his win look more impressive, which is the purpose of the EC. That said, he did appear to have a mandate and he is squandering it by betraying the populist-nationalist themes he ran on. Israel First is not America First. More wars. Gratuitous, stupid-sounding social media posts. Calling the Epstein Business a “hoax.” Loving on Bourla. Doing nothing about Fauci or any of the real criminals. I say all this as a guy who despised Biden and loathed the idea of Harris. You and I probably agree on 90 percent of “the issues.” And yet, I have come to loathe Trump. There are many like me. We are not “TDS Leftists.” Not even close.

      Consider that.

  2. Worth noting….in slang usage the word “taint” refers to the area between the genitals and the anal sphincter…..somehow that seems oddly appropriate….

  3. https://wisewolfmedia.substack.com/p/leaked-epstein-list-trump-michigan-dead-baby

“96% OF YOU AGREE, WASHINGTON IS FULL OF PEDOPHILES

The Epstein Files Keep Getting Worse and Nobody in Power Wants to Talk About It

An overwhelming majority of our readers believe that the people running this country, the people making laws, the people sending our kids to war, the people taxing our paychecks and lecturing us about morality on cable news, are sexual predators who prey on children.

That’s not a fringe conspiracy theory anymore. That’s a consensus. And the fact that we’ve reached this point, where almost nobody trusts the people in charge to not be raping kids, tells you everything you need to know about where this country is.”

    • Is it any surprise, YK, that the beloved (cough, cough) U.S. Supreme Court ruled in 2008 (Kennedy v. Louisiana) that giving a child rapist the death penalty (unless the child dies) was considered “Cruel & Unusual Punishment” under the 8th amendment. For the perpetrator. No consideration was given to Kennedy’s 8 year old step-daughter. So, the bastard got life in prison, as his death penalty sentence was over turned. But maybe the gods-in-robes did us a favor. Unlike Australia, pedos do not get segregated, so I am sure that Kennedy is not having a good time right now. And there again, Florida is thumbing their noses, and giving child rapists the death penalty anyway. So maybe there is some hope in a few states here and there. The nation? Forget it, stick a fork in us, we are done.

  4. Americans are too binary in their thinking to vote their way out of corruption and decline. Not that that would work anyway.

Nothing is ever going to change for the better in this country, because Americans would have to fight for change, and today’s Americans, who bear no resemblance whatsoever to their forebears of 250 years ago, are NOT fighters. They’ve lived lives of soft privilege that has bred any fighting spirit out of them (publik skoolz were a primary tool in accomplishing this). They will continue to “voot harder” every four years because it’s effortless, demands no sacrifices, and lets them easily convince themselves that they’ve made a difference.

This is really just a polite way of saying that Amerika has the government that it very much deserves.

    • One big problem we have is that there’s a certain percentage of people who STILL think such blatant falsehoods like COVID (and other) vaccines are “Safe and Effective!”, Tony Fauci is a public health saint, face diapers work against respiratory viruses, climate change is caused by people driving gas vehicles and eating meat, Putin launched an unprovoked war against Ukraine, Donald Trump colluded with Russia to become President, the Democratic Party is “Looking out for the working class and fighting for democracy!”, everyone who doesn’t think in lockstep with THEM are white supremacists, Nazis, Fascists, etc., “Men can become women” and vice versa, “Men can give birth”, and so on.

And of course there’s also a certain percentage of people who equate mere criticism of actions taken by the Israeli government (which increasingly appears to be just as corrupt as the U.S. government if not more so) with “Antisemitism”. And also think that mere criticism of President Trump when he does something questionable somehow makes you a TDS sufferer. By the way, does anyone remember when the Israeli government made their own citizens be guinea pigs for Pfizer shortly after the COVID jabs rolled out? IIRC, the Prime Minister at that time was Benjamin Netanyahu. Did he have some secret deal with Pfizer like the President of the European Commission had?

  5. Many were saying that the leftists are dead. Not so…they will be back with a vengeance in 2028. I didn’t vote in 2024. After learning more about El Trumpo’s OWS that started in September 2019 (just before the fake covid pandemic), I couldn’t support him a third time.

Now I am in limbo. I could never vote for a democrat or a RINO. What is left? Who is left? No one. The country is doomed anyway simply because the silliness of the DC Cesspool over the last 120 years is gonna finally come home to roost by 2033 (if not sooner).

More government is not the answer. The corruption, thieving and grifting is now the “constitution” of the country and DC’s own manufactured bill of rights. They have the right to steal your production, your wealth and your property and also murder you.

The very fact that El Trumpo and the HHS refuse to ban all mRNA poisons speaks volumes about how another fake pandemic is on the back burner. You can tell the end times are very near since when leaders start doing stupid things to flaunt their power and arrogance, it is because they have to deflect the public from seeing the true erosion of the country.

  6. MTMM = Make Trump More Money.
    MAGA was just campaign BS.
This was a well written article.
    Trump controls the Epstein files.
It’s a safe guess that nothing to incriminate him will be “found”.
Trump knew about the underage girls and said nothing.
    That’s bad enough.

Trump is the worst president in 165 years.
He hasn’t encouraged a Civil War like Lincoln did, but he’s got three more years to do that.

      • Hope is the cope dope while you tread water in hell.

Three years from now the Talmudic owners of this Jewlandia plantation will once again put on the Jewtube two more ziowhore candidates who inspire hope into the brain dead tax slaves.

These new charismatic candidates will promise to balance the budget, improve health care (or make it free for all), rid (or protect) illegals, stop the wars, fix the schools, stop racism (except whites), protect Jews, stop voting fraud, etc. etc. They will each get about 50% of the vote, each side will believe it is imperative their side wins. On voting day, people will stare into their smart phones with baited breath at the live feed, some praying to god to make the nation great again or to make abortion legal again.

Then the new whorestein will be sworn in, and everything will stay the same, same as it ever was, because Jews control both parties, and all candidates are vetted by Israel long before they appear on the ballot.

That is reality in Amerika and no one dares say it.

  7. “War” in Venezuela is a bit of an overstatement. It doesn’t even rise to the level of Somali pirates’ “war” on shipping.

Precious metals aren’t responding primarily to US monetary policy. Rather to purchases of PMs for the new BRICS currency. You can look both up and see which is the better fit. They both contribute, but one vastly overshadows the other.

If I have to settle for net emigration, rather than total replacement of America, I’ll take it and be thankful. Not the mass deportations I’d been hoping for, but Rubio laid it all out for the Euroweenies — immigration is destroying any vestiges of Western civilization they still have, and there’s not much point to NATO if there’s no Western civ to protect. Promises to be an entertaining new year.

  8. DC is so corrupt. There is no way someone who is not corrupt could get elected. If you want a reminder of how the ‘machine’ treats a actual threat then just go back and see how Ron Paul was treated in his ’08 and ’12 bids.

A few years ago I figured something out. If an individual gets lots of media attention they are part of the show (the show designed to manipulate and control the populace). Name me an individual since 2016 who has gotten more media attention than Trump… the only close one for me is Musk. And yes Musk is part of the show as well. The game is very old and very deep folks. You are not going to vote your way out of the mess that is coming.

    • This is why violent civil war is, unfortunately, inevitable. There is simply no peaceful way to end the corruption and criminality.

      • I agree. You can’t ‘fix’ this level of corruption. You have to start over. And the ‘reboot’ is always a violent and messy business.

    • In 2007 Rand Paul called me to say that his father was thinking about running for president. “Strait, do you think the Republicans there in South Carolina would support my dad?”

“No, Doc, I don’t think he’d get much support from the Republican party down here. The Republicans here love Lindsey Graham and his ilk, you know.”

“Well how about the Libertarians and the Constitutionalists — do you think they would support my dad?”

“Oh yes — I’m sure all eleven of us would vote for him.”

Ron Paul won only 3.6% of the vote in the 2008 primary here (behind John McCain, Mike Huckabee, Fred Thompson, and Mitt Romney), and only 13% in 2012 (behind Newt Gingrich, Mitt Romney, and Rick Santorum).

South-hating warmonger Lindsey Graham is still in office — because not even 1 in 7 Republicans here were noble enough (or smart enough) to vote for Bob Conley in 2008.

  9. Great summary of Trump. Was any of it ever real? We had the covid operation his first term. Now we get a typical Bush republican his 2nd.

  10. When the Ds take the House in 2026, and Trump is subject to serial impeachments, I won’t care. He’s so much like all the rest of the corrupt politicians in DC and elsewhere. He’s betrayed me. He’s violated his promises. He’s a warmonger and a big-spender and a narcissist all rolled-up into one unlovable old man who constantly talks nonsense.

    • The problem with playing the underdog is when the underdog wins, he actually has to do something. Much easier to play the helpless victim of the corrupt system than to change it.

So when he’s impeached in Jan 2027 his base will once again rise up and complain about the Democrat controlled congress, fulfilling Trump’s ultimate desire to become a martyr. Because Lord knows he’s not in line for sainthood.

  11. Orange Pontificateus Maximus Trumpenstein sent out over 200 tweets on Christmas. I did not read any of them, I do not care what Orange Nero RoyCohengayboy Rapeus Maximus has to say, I will not listen to this pedo coverup blowhard, I would rather listen to hogs feeding on slop than some lying scumbag child trafficking best friend of the little girl raping Epstain. Like he didn’t know … yeah right. Like he didn’t participate … yeah right.

Our nation is finished, pedogate is going to implicate every high office, many governors, police chiefs, top military commanders, congress slimeballs, zionist hacks, corporate CEO’s, and Trump himself. They are all in on it, and get this, the entire District of Criminal Ziothugs is ok with Israel blackmailing our government. They do not mind being blackmailed so long as they get to hold power. Why else would Bill Cliton go to Epstain Island over 30 times, he knew damn well he was being filmed with underaged girls and didn’t care.

The United States Government is finished. Pedogate is infinitely more damaging than a 100 nukes vaporizing every city in Amerika, our nation is ruled by utterly immoral scumbags. Hunter Biden was only the tip of the ice berg.

    • Preach it, Jack!

I don’t buy for a second that Trump didn’t sample the merchandise. It fits his known character. I also think his surreal arrogance will be his undoing. He is certain he can bullshit and bloviate and misdirect his way out of this, but I think what will happen is that damning evidence will come to light and when it does… .

Of course, we may be at war with Russia before that happens – in which case none of this will matter.

      • I agree, I do not think Trump will be able to weasel himself out of this one. This does remind me of Watergate, and I would bet he may not finish the term. Odds he won’t have increased slightly to 30%.

So what are the latest unredacted revelations? Listening to this right now:

        https://rumble.com/v73j0yo-megamagamerica-braces-for-2026-ffwn-with-wyatt-peterson.html?e9s=src_v1_cmd%2Csrc_v1_upp_f

Tehran Times cover story – “Document EFTA00036086—a letter from Epstein to convicted predator Larry Nassar—contains a chilling admission: “Our president shares our love of young, nubile girls. When a young beauty walked by he loved to ‘grab snatch.’” “

      • On Christmas day Trump sent out 200 tweets, the one that stands out,

Newsweek – “Trump posted, in part, “Merry Christmas to all, including the many Sleazebags who loved Jeffrey Epstein, gave him bundles of money, went to his Island, attended his parties, and thought he was the greatest guy on earth,”

He posted that just after it was revealed he was going to ‘Epstained mattress island’ many more times than he has admitted.

  12. “Traditionally the GOP voter is more principled” sorry I have found no evidence from my interactions with such voters that it is true.

    • I agree, MetalQueen –

The main difference, as I see it, is that “traditional GOP voters” tend to be more “patriotic” and “traditional” – whatever that means. Well, it means they are ok with “defense” spending (of other people’s money) and revere the military and its civilian adjunct, the police. But they are exactly the same in their agreement – with Democrats – that it’s justifiable (in their eyes) to force people to pay money for the things they deem worth spending other people’s money on. They also agree that its ok to assault people who’ve caused no harm to anyone else; they merely differ as to the excuses.

  13. Trump lied about his real Israel first agenda to get elected. Trump has destroyed the MAGA brand, he has sold the nation out to a foreign state, he redacted the Epstein files to protect pedophiles, he authorized the assassination of Charlie Kirk, he stuck his name above the Kennedy Center, he is assisting Israel in genocide, and not to mention lie about 911 – Trump falsely claims Saudis did it when it was a 100% Israeli job.

Trump is an utter piece of shit that needs to be removed ASAP by any means available. Here watch this, Trump is protecting Epstein and associates who kept underaged sex slaves in “stables” in a basement:

Pedogate is a 1000x worse than Watergate.

They kept little girls in STABLES in an underground crawlspace.
    https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=3s3-gYAsS8w

First of all, what right do these elected officials have to keep this critical information voters must have to properly discern and elect representatives? Trump is one sick motherfucker and he should hang for stalling the release of this information. Trump is 100% guilty and is heavily involved in trafficking.

In my opinion, the states need to convene and dissolve the Federal Government, and we need to start over.

  14. Yes, I agree with the criticisms of Trump. Arrogant, obnoxious and narcissistic. But seriously, what is the alternative? As if Hillary Clinton, Kamala and Obama were not arrogant, obnoxious and narcissistic? Perhaps not as gaudy and gold-plated, but still.

Did the “alternatives” not gin up bullshit reasons to attack Libya and Serbia? Did Clinton not bomb Iraq when he was just about to get impeached for getting caught with his dick in the Jewish girl’s mouth? Did not Obama escalate the war in Afghanistan and put troops in Syria? Are not Bide, Obama and Hillary responsible for goading Russia into a war with Ukraine by overthrowing the Ukrainian government of Yanukovich and then promising them NATO membership?

Hell, yes, I’d like to see Massie or Rand Paul as dictator-for-life. But it ain’t gonna happen. Trump is not the savior, at best he will slow down some of the insane tranny and illegal alien bullshit for a couple more years. But the reality is that this country is probably fucked one way or the other. Nobody is going to save it.

    • ‘At best [Trump] will slow down some of the insane tranny and illegal alien bullshit.’ — X

That he has done, although hiring tens of thousands of ICE goons is bad news long term, when they are turned on us.

But Trump has sped up our economic ruin, as gold is telling us every day with its hair on fire ($4,567 today; who can keep up?)

I used to believe that Repugs would destroy the country more slowly than Dems … but no longer. A hot war would send gold to $10,000 in a hurry. Hegseth and Rubio are doing their best to instigate one. Won’t someone PLEASE punch back?‘ 🙁

    • I’m going to have to disagree.

If Heels Up was in there, White Southern boys would not sign up for the army. Also the Panopticon we’d get would be Idiocracy instead of the ruthless efficiency of 1984. Two kill shots for the empire.

    • Sadly, X, I think you are correct. For as the saying goes-in essence-“if elections mattered, we would not be allowed to do so”.

    • There’s always a better alternative out there.

The problem is not that we elect the wrong people, the problem is that the political incentive is for the Elected-Americans to do all of the wrong things. (Thanks Milty)

Start there & work your way out.

    • But they’re ALL beholden to Israel. Biden sent TWO nuclear-powered aircraft carrier battle groups to the eastern Mediterranean when Hamas attacked Israel with fucking HANG GLIDERS in 2023. Biden’s Secretary of State went to Israel and literally said, verbatim, “I come here not only as Secretary of State but as a Jew.”

Yes, Trump is Israel’s bitch. But who isn’t? Seriously, who? Massie and MTG?

  15. The Democratic Party has gone F***ing insane the past 10 years or so, particularly after Trump was elected president the first time, but even more so after COVID hysteria. What are the odds that should they retake the House and/ or the Senate next year, AND Gavin Newsom or someone like him becomes president in 2028, they’ll sic the government after anyone and everyone who ever voted for Trump, supported RFK Jr and/ or the MAHA movement, refused to comply with nonsensical COVID diktats such as mask & vaxx mandates, spoke out against establishment approved narratives on COVID, climate change, Keeeeeeeeeeev, people they deem ANTI-VAXXERS, etc.

  16. The purpose of a system is what it does (POSIWID). Applied to Trump, it’s apparent that his purpose is to destroy nationalism-populism in the US. Eric has said it better. Trump is so easy to despise. I (who never voted in my life) was fascinated for the first 2 weeks by the new press secretary (a total babe for a change), the idea of a DOGE, no more mutilation of children, talk of auditing Fort Knox and eliminating income tax, etc. All very positive. But the lion was transparently a jackal, what with the Trump shitcoin and buddying up with Larry Ellison, Israel and the first trillion dollar military budget and etc.
We don’t get real opposition to the agenda by politicians, just kayfabe. What the metals (Au, ag, pt, pd, cu) are doing is horrifying and not a cause for celebration as idiot bugs like to think. War, great reset, great taking, CBDCs, a digital panopticon in a cashless social credit society, own nothing be happy, Bolshevik terror with technological efficiency. It’s speeding up now because 2030 is coming quickly and the dominant minority operates on timelines.
    I don’t think we’ve seen anything yet.

    • So some people don’t see things your way politically, true as they be, the more people who dump paper dollars into gold and silver the more pressure on the bankers is put. Yeah, sure, they’re going to screw everyone who holds them but I figure the more people watching the less they can get away with. Isn’t the root problem not enough people paying attention? They could have built their own trap but bailing everyone in with 401K and paper gold. Back in 1929 it was only a few very rich people looking at the markets. Now everyone with an IRA or day trading account is a social media reporter on Zero Hedge. You have details, high res videos, of things before the dinosaur media can spin up a narrative.

  17. If the economy really gets trashed, as in a 20 percent or more decline in the stock market and unemployment flirting with 10 percent, it’s game over for the Bad Orange Man and his Repugnant Party.

  18. US Strikes ISIS in Nigeria after Trump Warned of Attacks of Christians — headline this morning

Ah Christ, there he goes again: Iran, Syria, Venezuela, and now Nigeria. Every day a new, amorphous enemy to be menaced.

The Christian angle is particularly nauseating. Palestinian Christians, including those in Jesus’s birthplace of Bethlehem, have been under brutal, illegal Israeli military occupation for 58 years. Not only does Trump not object, he sends Israel billions a year worth of money and ammo to continue its inhuman repression.

Trump’s zionoid ambassador to Israel Mike Huckabee spent six years preachin’ the Word at the grand white sepulcher of the Beech Street First Baptist Church in the town where I graduated high school. With its white dome and Ionic columns, it looks like a state capitol — where Huckabee in fact installed himself just four years later to illegally mix church and state. Beech Street:

    https://shorturl.at/pmQq2

Earlier this month, Huckabee brought one thousand Bible thumpers to Israel, on an expense-paid junket called Friends of Zion Ambassadors Summit. In ‘before you go’ instructions, the thousand junketeers were told to keep quiet about their faith while out and about in Israel, which does not tolerate public Christianity.

Says it all, don’t it? Israel is the little apartheid colony that bought Trump with Miriam Adelson’s greasy shekels, and feeds Huckabee’s proclaimed delusion that he is a ‘representative of the City of God.’

The US founders, mostly Deists, Stoics and skeptics, firmly declined to adopt a state religion. And they despised kings — even inane ones like Huckabee in his cardboard Blather King crown.

    Israel is our Christ-forsaken misfortune.

  19. “It is probably not that most Americans want authoritarian socialism.” – EP

I respectfully submit that you are mistaken.

2020 showed us exactly how authoritarian the majority of Murican’s are and how vindictively they will behave to enforce their authoritarian will on others.

There are comments posted here all the time by “regulars” supporting some authoritarian streak or another.

We have a steady supply of bootlickers in society that back the blue regardless of the abuse of the citizenry that is documented regularly via video.

We have a socialist society that loves its Social(ist) Security, Medicare, Medicaid, EBT, public schools, and various other grifts. We have decades of popular support for the authoritarian war on drugs.

This site is a microcosm of folks that visit a libertarian site . . . and still . . . Even here . . . There are plenty that don’t support freedom and liberty or only support it to the degree that they see fit.

    • I strongly beg to differ BiD. You are correct that, overall, “We have a socialist society that loves its Social(ist) Security, Medicare, Medicaid, EBT, public schools, and various other grifts. We have decades of popular support for the authoritarian war on drugs.”. But that’s not what I read here, in the slightest.

Do we all march in Rothbardian Lockstep? No. That shows that we are, at our core, individuals that can make distinctions in some areas. Abortion is just one. Many libertarians I know support abortion. Others, such as myself, don’t. In this case it boils down to those that see it as a woman choosing to “have control over her body”. Others see it as ending an innocent life that was the result of a decision to engage in an act that has the primary purpose of pregnancy; a choice made willingly.

I don’t see anyone here pushing “socialist authoritarian” ideas except for a troll or two.

      Have a blessed New Year.

      • Hey Mark
” Many libertarians I know support abortion. ” — Well, Shows what they think of life and liberty” Mark

” Others, such as myself, don’t. In this case it boils down to those that see it as a woman choosing to “have control over her body”.
        Mark

Problem is… its not her body and she is responsible for it. Does anyone really feel the child being killed would agree to die … ‘for the cause’ ?

        • Maybe the “child” in question (and it is a process not instantly a happy bouncing baby) would prefer NOT to be born into a world gone to shit one whose “leaders” get to decide who gets bombed who gets trafficked or who gets to be genocided. The universe really does not give a shit about “innocent” human life so the priority of alleged “pro-lifers” that every fetus conceived makes it to birth is more some virtue signaling than ACTUALLY working towards a world people WANT to bring a child into instead of strutting around thinking they are “saving babies” instead of fixing the problems that make the idea of bringing a child into the world as something to be avoided.

          • Speaking of viral signaling dolts, the my body my choice manta was quickly abandoned when everyone was expected to take the magic elixir or else.

Plus the pro choicers do not need to worry about getting knocked up, as they are unfuckable.

      • You are free to personally regard abortion as a wrong but the problem with “pro-life” “libertarians” is that they make an exception to their opposition to using the strong arm of the state to force women to carry a pregnancy to term REGARDLESS whether she “chose” the act to become pregnant or not. Also they forget that pregnancy and childbirth are processes that carry substantial risks, AND IT IS A PROCESS not sperm meets egg = happy bouncing baby. Not to mention the majority of “pro-lifers” I have mentioned cheer on the state’s wars and are ok with if not cheering on the genocide in Gaza. There are some (mostly Catholic) that are consistent but they are the minority.

So excuse me if I am sick to death of the anti abortion circle jerk coming from a certain sect of “libertarians “

    • You make a good point. I’d add that people are in fact not selecting Trump, populism, socialism or anything else. The number of voters is far short of those eligible. In a highly visible 2024 only 65% of those eligible voted.

Maybe some wanted an even most leftist candidate than Harris/Walz, but I doubt this fact held many people from voting. Democrats love their no matter who vote blue crap. Couple that with the anti-Trump voters and I really doubt many leftist did not vote.

The Republicans seemed to do the same. Traditionally the GOP voter is more principled and would choose not to vote at all rather than vote blue in protect. Trump wasn’t a good neocon but he was good enough and there was I assume a lot of anti-Kamala voters.

And how many are potentially eligible but not even registered? I am not registered to vote at all, although my spouse is primarily because they want to be called potentially for jury duty (nullification). The number I’ve seen is 73% of voting age and eligible are registered, making that about 175 million.

Either way, neither candidate in 2024 got 35% of the voter who did bother so the “neither of the above” group is the real winner.

Then if you figure the election numbers are basically pure bunk, made up due to fraud and corruption. Did 156 million Americans really vote? How many were illegal aliens, dead or voted in 3 precincts?

That all boils down to the conclusion is that when presented with a choice between an avowed communist Democrat or a socialism-lite Republican the majority of us don’t want either and don’t vote at all. Meaning the old right, conservative, traditional values (as it might be presented abstractly Constitutionalist) is the majority ideology but where rubber meets the road the number of politicians who ran on and actually did it in the last 50 years can be counted on one hand. Even them, perhaps Goldwater, Ron Paul, Massey types, aren’t really tearing anything down. It’s just moving the government back to pre-1913 at best. Which I admit is a good start but Articles of Confederation era should be the real goal.
