Are States “Revoking Licenses From Trans Drivers”?

I red an article – an editorial – by a man who insists he’s a woman (and that because he insists he is, he is a woman) who says that states are “revoking licenses from trans drivers.”

The man – who goes by Amber – writes:

“Back when Florida banned driving while trans two years ago, it was already apparent as a major step in a conservative project to erase queer (and more specifically trans) people from public life. At the time, I figured Texas would be the next state to enact such bold legislation. This week, though, I’ve been proven wrong: Kansas made all drivers’ licenses with corrected gender markers invalid as of today, forcing trans Kansans to swap their IDs out.”

He is confused – again.

There is no law in Florida banning men who think they’re women from driving and there is no “conservative project to erase queer people from public life” – whatever that is supposed to mean.

What Florida did do was to require that state-issued IDs – that is what a driver’s license is – indicate whether the person identified is male or female. For the same reason the state requires that IDs display the individual’s correct age and whether he or she wears glasses or has a motorcycle endorsement. No one gets to “identify” as younger (or older) than they actually are, no matter how deeply they may believe they are 21 rather than 16 – or 21 rather than 41. I can’t legally ride my motorcycle without having gotten the endorsement. I can’t just identify as being a motorcycle rider.

Facts matter when it comes to identification – else it is no such thing.

There are some – me among them – who think no one ought to be required to present ID or even have one, except as a purely voluntary thing. There was once this quaint idea that free people had a right to travel freely, meaning they were once-upon-a-time not required to get permission – via a government-issued ID card – nor required to produce one on demand. They were free to travel. That was it. George Washington didn’t have to get a license to ride his horse wherever he wanted to travel. He just traveled.

Somehow, that changed.

I do not think Amber or other guys like him – or anyone else, for that matter – ought to be required to get IDs. America is supposed to be a free country, after all. But if I am required to identify myself as being a white man who is exactly as old as my state-required ID card says I am then I do not understand why a guy like Amber thinks he can just decide to be a “her” and have the state accept this as fact when it is objectively untrue. It has nothing to do with any animosity toward people like Amber; I am a live-and-let-live libertarian and that means it’s not my business if Amber wants to pretend he’s a woman. I would not be mean to him if I met him on account of that. People have a right to live their lives however they like, so long as they’re not harming others in the process.

I italicize the latter because that’s really what’s at issue here.

It is harming others to insist that objective reality is fungible; that facts are merely beliefs and vary accordingly. More finely, to insist that others be obliged to deny facts. To pretend that the truth is a lie.

Amber is not a woman. Just as I am not 21. Or black. Or old enough to collect Social Security. If I don’t get to pretend that I am – and get to effectively oblige others to pretend that I am – then Amber, et al, do not get to pretend they are a different sex than what their equipment and DNA indicate. If he says otherwise – and says I am denying his “rights” somehow – then maybe I have the right to have my driver’s license state that I am old enough to collect Social Security. I am weary of having to pay all these damned bills and sure could use a monthly check. I certainly feel old enough to collect SS.

Amber writes:

“Bit by bit, trans people are losing access to the country we live in. State by state, municipality by municipality, bathroom bans and ID laws are forcing us out — not to mention the effects those ID laws will have on constituents in a nation increasingly dead set on implementing voter ID. But, hey, at least we’re not competing in sports, huh?”

If Amber’s feelings are enough to transform him – literally – from he to “she” then I see no reason why my feelings about being weary and “old” enough to collect a check ought not to empower me to demand my date of birth on my state-issued ID be adjusted accordingly.

Also, I’m feeling black all of a sudden. Maybe someone owes me reparations.

Perhaps someone will explain to me why not.

  1. Is it in our best interest to allow those with mental illness to drive?

Russia has long prohibited members openly in the LGBTQ+ brigade from driving or having driver’s licenses on the grounds that they are mentally ill.

      • Ah, a de facto ad hominem attack without addressing what was said. Par for the course with some posters here. So here’s some explanation for you.

        https://illinoisfamily.org/homosexuality/johns-hopkins-psychiatrist-transgender-mental-disorder-sex-change-biologically-impossible/

“Dr. Paul R. McHugh, the former psychiatrist-in-chief for Johns Hopkins Hospital and its current Distinguished Service Professor of Psychiatry, said that transgenderism is a “mental disorder” that merits treatment, that sex change is “biologically impossible,” and that people who promote sexual reassignment surgery are collaborating with and promoting a mental disorder.”

“Dr. McHugh, the author of six books and at least 125 peer-reviewed medical articles, made his remarks in a recent commentary in the Wall Street Journal, where he explained that transgender surgery is not the solution for people who suffer a ‘disorder of “assumption” ‘ – the notion that their maleness or femaleness is different than what nature assigned to them biologically.”

        https://www.thelondoneconomic.com/politics/russia-bans-transsexual-transgender-people-driving-9232/

“The decree, signed by Prime Minister Dmitry Medvedev, empowers officials to ban transsexual and transgender people from driving, along with others suffering from such ‘mental disorders’. The ban applied to those with ‘gender identity disorders, disorders of sexual preference and psychological and behavioural disorders associated with sexual development and orientation.’ “

  2. Given that ‘trans’ people can’t breed, I consider it a mystery just how it has happened that there are now so many such ‘Ambers’, while some 30 years ago we hardly knew if they even existed. They certainly were not vocal and I don’t recall ever hearing one of them complaining of discrimination.
Could it have anything to do with the general dumbing down and all that Marxist indoctrination in schools, by any chance?

    • RE: “Could it have anything to do with the general dumbing down and all that Marxist indoctrination in schools, by any chance?”

Really? You think that? It has nothing to do with all the endO-disrupting b.s. in so many foods etc, enough so that, …

Ah, nevermind, I can show you the door, it’s up to you to walk through it:

‘Glyphosate doesn’t stay where it’s sprayed. It moves.’

      • “Really? You think that? It has nothing to do with all the endO-disrupting b.s. in so many foods etc, enough so that, …”

It IS very likely all of that adds up to the current ‘less-than-optimal’ whole, but I doubt it’s just the likes of glyphosate etc.

We used Agent Orange in Vietnam and I don’t recall there suddenly being any trans Viet Cong fighters. 🙂

(And yes, I know Agent Orange is not glyphosate and it’s even more toxic, but the point stands. Who actually can say just what shyte the military has been dropping around?)

Thanks for the link, but I don’t do Facebook. It and all its derivatives’ IP addresses are blocked on all my devices.

    • Well-said, John –

There have always been outliers but for the most part little boys grew into men and little girls grew up to be women. What’s changed is that society has. Literally deranged thinking creates a deranged society. Kids often are raised by damaged parents but it is the damaged society that has made things much worse. The pushing of sexuality on kids way before they get to puberty; the pushing of drugs of all sorts; the “food” that screws with people’s hormones. Take a confused, insecure kid and tell him he’s really a girl (or the reverse) and that he or she will feel less awkward if they “come out” as their “true selves.”

  3. I identify the guy calling himself Amber a statist. He’s demanding that we all have a government permission slip to drive our cars. If we are free men, than we don’t need a “driver’s license” to freely move about and travel in our personal automobile. Free men also don’t need to register his car to the state, have a license plate on his car, an inspection sticker on his car window, have mandatory auto insurance, or fear being penalized by the law if he choices not to wear his seat belt or have his cellphone in his hand while driving.

    • So then, our overlords are expressing to you, that you are their slave.

      You are owned.

The income tax, is it not enough to convince you?
      Property taxes?
If you’re fortunate enough to own enough land, hunting licenses to hunt or fish on your own land?

You and i, us all, are owned.

Home of the Slave, Land of The Flea.

      A conquered nation.

  4. It causes me harm to be forced to pretend they are a woman. Mental illness pushed on to me. You can pretend all you like, just don’t ask me to participate in a lie.

There is something lost in english, the gendered second person pronouns. Note that their prefered pronouns are what they would like the whole world and history to remember that they are a She. They are not asking just me personally to call it a She. They are asking that I observe history as saying it’s a She. To participate in a lie.

As for ID’s – Requirement is something I don’t believe in, but if you’re going to get one, officially it should be accurate. What they are saying doesn’t count anymore are FAKE ID’s that the state wrongfully issued in the first place. When a state issues IDs with fraudulent data on them, it invalidates the legitimacy of mine if they do not take steps to recall fraudulent IDs in curculation that are otherwise authentic. There’s your libertarian reason to make them dispose of or get new ones.

Now take away the illegal aliens drivers liscenses they can use at the voting booth. Our elections are rigged. Talk about 3/5ths compromise.

  5. Let’s start with the premise that a vehicle is a potentially deadly weapon.
We also notice firearms are potentially deadly weapons that we are supposed to have a recognized right to own.

Yet, the rights of those who are judged to be not of sound mind are restricted when it comes to firearms.
If Paul thinks he is Patty, that seems to be a dissociative disorder, which is a mental illness.

Using the same criteria, “trans” people are too mentally ill to be given the ability to own, possess, or use a 4000 lb potential weapon, which are in fact sometimes used as a weapon (e.g. New Orleans).

Hope this helps alleviate your worry about getting a new license “Amber”.

  6. This is mental illness, nothing more or less. Some are able to handle their problem and function in civilized society, and some are a danger to themselves and others and must be institutionalized. Hate, or love have nothing to do with it, except perhaps that society protect innocents out of love.

It is certainly not a status worthy of official recognition.

Likewise traveling freely is not a privilege regardless of of what some god damned lawyer claims. Anyone qualified has the right to use the public roads.

    Fool me once…

Apparently a driving factor for a lot of the sex confusion is video games. Kids who are having a tough time in puberty play out being the opposite sex characters. Because they’re unable to tell the difference between screens and reality they just start deciding they’re trans, bi, lesbian, gay or “miscellaneous.”

    • ReadyKW,
It’s worse than just video games.

Any child that is having a tough life gets assigned to the public school counselor. The counselor, then makes an appointment with a gender psychologist which the diagnosis is the person has *Gender Dysphoria”. They tell the child that their problems are all related to wanting to be the opposite sex and everything will be fine less we start the process. Then they tell the parents what is going on. They tell them that either the child goes on puberty blockers (chemical castration drugs) or the kid will kill themselves. “Do you want a live Joanne or a dead Jonny?” Then the next step is transition hormones. The damage is incalculable. Delated puberty has lifelong affects. No reproductive functioning organs. Lifelong chemical treatments.

      This is insane.

Many of these troubled kids come from broken homes, have been both physically and or sexually abused, are autistic, or are just going thru a phase. They need help, not to become political pawns in a Marxist ideology to destroy Western society.

      • Very true, and I also wonder what role in the children’s eventual disposition may be played by Ritalin and similar drugs, which are handed out by the shovelful to ‘calm down hyperactive kids’ and which are chemically very similar to meth.

When you get put on that from being as young as 6 years of age, it’s an easy transfer later directly to anti-depressants and then to ‘gender dysphoria’.

Mass shootings carried out by such individuals in schools are then just an unfortunate accident. /s

        • Hi John,
I’ve been watching Chris Elston, a Canadian, who is taking a one man crusade to stop this insane government sponsored of transitioning of children. He has educated himself in all their so-called science and political positions and argues extremely effectively. He has been on the national and international stage speaking to government leaders of the devastating harm this ideology has caused. He has also been attacked in the street but continues his quest.

          https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Fc9nwVBPe-w

I agree the drugging of our children has got to stop. Yep, boys are hyperactive because it is in their nature to be. That is where real men and fathers are present to show young boys the proper way to behave and how to be admired and eventually attract a mate (female I hope).

  8. An added benefit of this legislation is that an unconscious person may get better medial treatment as some drug dosages may vary by sex.

Austin Powers would have said regarding the top picture: “Well, no offense, but if that is a woman it does look like she was beaten with an ugly stick!”

  9. “Gender assigned at birth” is the phrase that pays.

It’s as though a coin-toss in the delivery room determines one’s sex; gender being a term traditionally used to describe grammar.

However, if you have someone that thinks as Amber, can you expect them to understand something as simple as what is being done with these licenses? If you expect logical thinking from such a person you need to think again.
