Well, so much for the “peace deal” that was “all but signed.”
Overnight, Trump carried out a “self defense” attack against Iran, which is something like the cop yelling Stop Resisting! as he pummels you with his baton. The “self defense” attack did not take place here. It took place over there – where the Iranians are. On their turf, that is. Ergo, it was “self defense” in the same way that it is “self-defense” when a cop kicks in the door to your house and starts whacking you with a baton while yelling Stop Resisting!
A worse aspect of this “self defense” is it came during the “negotiations” Trump says he is having with the Iranians. An attack during “negotiations” is not much inducement to continue negotiations. This brings up a point not being addressed about this mess, which can be expressed via a question: Why on Earth would the Iranians negotiate with Trump, who has demonstrated worse than bad faith on so many occasions? The president used negotiations to lure the Iranians into a state of false belief that negotiations were under way and then attacked them – this was how this stupid, evil war began – and he now apparently expects them to trust him?
Would you?
At the same time this is going on, Israel – Our Greatest Ally – is amping up its attacks upon Lebanon and (of course) a “U.S. official signaled Washington’s support for Israel’s approach.” Because Washington – Trump – always supports Israel’s approach. Which brings up the absurdity – the impossibility (absent a degree of naivety on the part of the Iranians that is hard to imagine possible) of these so-called “negotiations” going anywhere. It is crashingly obvious that Trump is Netanyahu and Netanyahu is Trump and, accordingly, the object is to reduce Iran to a U.S.-Israeli-run gau of the U.S.-Israeli state. A gau being German for an administrative area with no real autonomy. The Iranians know this because everyone knows this. The Iranians know, in other word, that everything hinges on their not trusting anything Trump-Netanyahu say. For the Iranians to give up what they won – as well as their right to develop a nuclear deterrent – would be something like Rocky Balboa standing still so Ivan Drago can knock him into next week.
So, the war will continue. It is likely the war will expand – because Trump-Netanyahu are check-mated, for now. The Iranians have humiliated the U.S.-Israeli regime (singular, for the same reason that it is proper to refer not to the United States but to the United State) and hold all the important marbles. Trump is probably desperate to salve his bruised ego/image at least as much as the saner people around him understand how desperately important it is to get the oil flowing again. Assuming their motive is not to usher in a global economic collapse, famine and social upheaval – in order to get the masses in the right frame of mind for digital money and total enserfment.
If not – if the working assumption is that there are elections just six months distant that do not auger well for the party in power – then self-interest is screaming to end this stupid, evil war Trump-Netanyahu started for the sake of an agenda that has as much to do with Making America Great Again as silica added to engine oil has to do with a smooth-running engine. The outrage over the costs of this stupid, evil war is so loud you can hear it even in the middle of a 200 acre cornfield. Mark Levin and Ben Shapiro disagree, of course.
Everyone knows why.
The war has got to be stopped – but that will require stopping Trump-Netanyahu and (just as important) recovering the trust of the Iranians and dealing with them fairly. Heaven forbid.
Neither seems a likely development.
The Iranians have been whacked like a pinata by the U.S.-Israeli state ever since Mohammed Mossadegh was deposed and replaced by the Shah. When the Iranians replaced him, they became even more of a pinata. No doubt they got tired of it. Which is why they prepared – this time – for the stupid, evil war Trump-Netanyahu launched that the Iranians knew was coming. The Persians – who are not “arabs” – are not stupid people. They finally recognized just who they are dealing with (a fact established by the deliberate double-tap murder of 170 Iranian schoolgirls at the beginning of this stupid, evil war) and took the necessary steps to deal with it.
But therein lies the rub.
Having checkmated the U.S.-Israeli regime, there is now but one recourse left for the latter to recover its tattered prestige and – the even more important thing – to crush the How Dare They Iranians. Everyone knows what this means though few of us want to think about it too much because of what it would mean, if it happens. The thing now is to prevent that from happening.
But how to do that?
Voting Harder won’t do it. So what else can be done?
It’s the question that bears answering – because everything depends on it.

Do not forget NK has offered to help Iran assemble nuclear weapons or even give some to Iran.
So Trump has made himself an impossible goal of stopping Iran from attaining nuclear weapons. This means the war is going to go on and on and on ….

Eric is dead right about this, but astonishing how few comments addressed it. Erasing Israel from American influence (and possibly planet Earth) seems to be the favored response, but is functionally irrelevant, if emotionally satisfying. That won’t solve the problem, and in fact serves to redirect people’s energy from a deeper contemplation of reality. Solve the deeper problem and Israel won’t be an issue. I have had it with his type, for they have ruined everything that was once great about this country. Their “safety” faggotry especially. Who said the “whole reason” (whatever that is) is feminization? The fact is what should be a balance of feminine and masculine, has tilted heavily toward feminism. It has been my experience that women tend not to be self sacrificing for the society in which they exist. Rather, they tend to go along with what appears to be the prevailing consensus. This is not surprising as they’re very concerned with remaining safely part of the prevailing group. Being ostracized from the group as a woman is a very scary prospect. Women are more likely to just accept societal decay (if perhaps begrudgingly).
Men, on the other hand are a lot more self sacrificing to preserve their culture and families. Masculine men can and do say no, which acts as a bulwark against societal decay.
Both men’s and women’s outlooks and behaviors are necessary and important to human societies and culture, so long as they generally act like men and women. The trouble comes when they try to take on the other’s role, which is largely what we’ve had in the US and western societies since 2nd wave feminism. Neither are very good at the other’s role.

Ok, I see that you’ve been part of the 2nd and 3rd wave feminism milieu and it’s hard to think outside that paradigm. However, generally the natural order of humans is that the men provide resources, build stuff, protect and preserve the family. Women seek men for their ability to obtain resources, bear children, nurture, and maintain the household. Women are generally much more physically vulnerable, emotional and less logical. Men tend to be much more logical and stoic. The combination of these works well.
Men go off to fight battles while the women stay and maintain the households and children. Historically, if land was captured, the women would not fight the invading force (as they lack the ability), but would assimilate into the invaders. The men typically would not abide this and would either die fighting or would be executed by the invaders.
Proof of women accepting decay: Lots of women love having “gay husbands” and going to drag queen shows. Very few women I know objected to the corrosive “trans” movement of late. They’ll accept feminism and go to war with their husbands (and compromise their children’s upbringing) in order to embrace full time work (usually for a male boss). A very large percentage of women take anti-depressants. A very large percentage of women imbibe in way to much toxic social media on their phones. Safetyism is rampant. This is historically a female trait.
I never said anybody should be forced to take on traditional masculine/feminine roles (or any roles for that matter). I subscribe to the NAP, after all. But generally speaking I think they ought to.
This is not to say that men are not responsible for wars and other bad things. My experience is that it’s generally not the truly masculine ones though.
Of course I’m painting with a very broad brush here, but evolutionary psychology is real. When men and women stray from their natural inclinations problems arise.
