The war Trump has lost – so far – is currently costing Americans about $4 per gallon, which is less than $4.30 per gallon but also a lot higher than the $2.75 per gallon Americans were paying eight months ago (back in December of ’25) before the start of this stupid, evil war. In rough math terms, the war has already cost the average American about $20 per fill-up (an extra $1.25-$1.50 per gallon; the typical crossover has about a a 15 gallon capacity tank) which works out to about $100 per month (most people fill up once a week) and so about $700 so far, since the stupid, evil war began. If you own a truck or an SUV that has a larger-capacity tank or you fill up more than just once a week, you’ve probably paid a lot more.
By the end of this year, most of us will have paid at least $1,000 in War Taxes. Imagine if Trump had run on that. Vote for me and I will start a war with Iran that will result in you having to pay for it, to the tune of $1,000. It’ll be great.
Kamala Harris would be president now. Maybe she ought to be. In any event, someone like her is probably going to be, courtesy of this stupid, evil war and its economic consequences.
Hilariously, Defenders of the Faith are excoriating people who are complaining about the cost of everything – not just gas – going up, courtesy of the amped-up inflation triggered by this stupid, evil war. You may have heard about what’s being styled the Burrito Debate. It’s a debate about the cost of things and the tone-deafness of the things responsible. The same tone-deafness that Defenders of the Faith excoriated the Biden Thing and his apologists for. They were right to excoriate the Biden Thing – and the Biden Thing was too addled by a combination of dementia and Marie Antoinette-like contempt for the masses to comprehend it. Now the Defenders of the Faith do not comprehend it, because they are addled by reverence for another dementia-addled old man whose Marie Antoinette-like contempt for the masses is even more contemptuous.
Remember when Trump promised Americans’ energy costs would go down by half? Now he literally says he “doesn’t think about Americans’ financial situation.” Biden – as addled by dementia as he was – at least had enough internal monologue control to not say that out loud. Now the Defenders of the Faith are trying to make the increasingly less faithful be ok with what Trump says (and does) and it’s not working. Every poll of the general public reveals cratering support for Trump because most people do not support the war, much less having to pay for it.

Trump has truly screwed the pooch – and the pooch has clenched tight his sphincter. The Iranians don’t mock Trump. They just matter-of-factly state they’re done playing stupid games with him. They list their demands – which they say must be met before they will deign to enter into any further talks with the United States – leaving Trump looking as ridiculous as that wispy waft of mullet on his head. He says “The U.S.A. has total control over the Strait of Hormuz. I THINK WE WILL KEEP IT! Our Naval Blockade is being called, by everyone, ‘A WALL OF STEEL,’ and there is nothing Iran can do about it. “
Sure there is. Iran can keep control of the Strait – as it has already got. Trump’s “total control” means next to nothing leaves – which is how we got to $4 gas and probably worse to come, as the supply chain disruptions magnify and propagate their evil effects.
The flailing oaf then says “Their country is “shot.” All they have is FAKE NEWS and 300% INFLATION, and getting worse!”
It sounds a lot like Lee Greenwood America, doesn’t it?
The relative quiet right now is unsettling. It is portentous. It is not likely Trump is going to accept defeat, as he ought to – and try to undo the damage he’s already done. Trump is not the kind of guy that does that. He’s the kind of guy who has to “win.” Part of that is a deranged mental state that tells him he always “wins.” He seems to actually believe this, which is even worse than Biden staring vacantly at the TeeVee audience during his final “debate” performance. 
He may believe he can “win” by lobbing a few nukes at Iran. He’s probably itching to do it – partly (probably) because he just likes the idea; it’d make him feel like a “winner” to glassify some “losers” in Iran. Also because he is personally immune (so be believes) from consequences. Trump doesn’t worry about Americans’ financial situation because he doesn’t have to. It is not his situation. If he lobs a few nukes on Iran, it’ll be a similar kind of thing.
Or so he thinks.

America is now producing more oil than anyone. The system is at capacity. So why is WTI at $81? Why is Gasoline at $4.29 down at the Love’s?
Purely for political reasons. No other reason. Russia is bad. Iran is bad. Oil is oil (mostly, there’s a lot of variation but that’s all about the refinery that can use it). Shipping is still cheap. There are no lines, no closed stores. There’s plenty of oil to be had.
US production is being sold to Europe because they pay more. Maximizing profits on the back of the US population. Leveling out of retail prices. Everyone pays the same, worldwide. Maybe Buck-ees can open up a station in Léon or Stuttgart.
