What Comes After the Blue Douching?

Unless the polls are entirely wrong – and unless the situation with regard to gas/diesel prices changes dramatically in a favorable direction very soon – it seems as certain as the fall transitioning to winter that the blues are going to hose the reds in the midterms. Not so much because the majority has turned blue but rather because they are red with anger and disgust as regards the reds. Many are likely to just sit out the midterms; they won’t vote blue – but they won’t vote red, either.

This is all-but-certain to lead to the hosing of the reds by the blues, because the blues (like the reds in 2024) are motivated and they are not going to sit this one out.

The question arises: What will come the day after, assuming a blue hosing out of the reds?

Well, nothing – at first – because it won’t be until January that the resurgent blues get their hands on the power they crave. In the meanwhile, we can expect Trump to go full shambolic – because he knows that come January, he will no longer have the congressional buffer he has enjoyed up to now. It is very likely, probably, that he will resume the war that has been festering quietly now for a few weeks because why not? What has he got to lose? Other than being perceived as a loser – the worst thing imaginable for Trump. A “win” might also resurrect his political fortunes, forcing the blues to go along (just as they did – initially – with The Chimp). That this “win” is unlikely is not relevant insofar as facts do not matter to Trump; only the power of positive (as he sees it) thinking. Said another way, the will to win is the way to win. Never mind the facts that stand athwart.

Of course, the blues have their own problems – many of the same as the problems besetting the reds. The blues are making lots of extravagant promises they will not be able to keep, that they will almost certainly betray. They won’t do anything about the Epstein Stuff, nor will they do anything about the very related Israel Stuff – because of the Epstein Stuff. They will have the lit-on-fire bag of shit in their laps the morning after the midterms.

More finely, they will have much less grace from the public, which is not in the mood to tolerate more bullshit for much longer. When the blues, in their turn, fail to deliver – and probably (as is usual with the blues) make things even worse (as is usual with the reds) the moment will be ripe for something not seen in this country since the mid-1770s.

You can feel it in the air. It is the whiff of desperation and just-sick-of-it-ness. It is no longer the usual bullshit about the transfer of power from one side (of the same side) to the other side. Something else is on order, or soon will be.

What that is remains to be seen but what is certain is that it will be like nothing else we’ve seen – none of us who are alive right now, that is. It might be something relatively gentle, like the break-up of the old Soviet Union. It might also be something apocalyptic, such as what happened in late 18th century France and early 20th century Russia.

Regardless, it’s coming – and there’s no stopping it now.
