What Will You Do?

The coming midterms are not consequential because there’s any real choice. That does not, however, mean they aren’t consequential.

As we get inexorably closer, Trump is likely to do something drastic – not because it would make any difference to us, the goyim, whether the blues douche the reds – but because it would make a difference to him.

A blue douching would be seen as a personal as well as political repudiation. A pathological narcissist such as Trump can’t stand the idea of either. There is probably nothing more important to Trump – other than money – than not being perceived as a “loser” and “weak.” A blue douching would embarrass him and that would be dangerous for us. He is likely do anything to avoid being embarrassed, such as roll the dice on a massive escalation of the war with Iran. Something akin to the desperate roll of the dice at Kursk in 1943, when Adolf Hitler – desperate to regain the initiative in a war he was losing – threw everything he had at the Soviets in what proved to be the largest tank battle in history.

The Germans did not regain the initiative. The Soviets held the line and less than two years later, it was all over for the Germans. It may soon all be over for Trump – and us, by dint of that. It is very possible we’ll awake one morning within the next few weeks to the news that Trump went deep – to use football-speak – and maybe even dropped the Big One. Or several. Or had Our Greatest Ally do it, so as to establish plausible deniability.

The other alternative is just as bad and maybe worse. Trump waits to see whether the blue douching comes to pass. He has stated he has no plans to go deep in Iran until after the midterms. Maybe because he really does believe the polls (all of them) that predict an unprecedented hosing are Fake News and that the reds will hold the line, in which case not only would he claim to be a “winner” – the second most important thing to him after money – he could claim a mandate to go deep.

Either way, it seems inevitable we’re going to be in deeper trouble, soon. This brings up the question: What are we going to do when the trouble comes?

A related question arises: Will you comply?

When the trouble comes, the government will bark orders. These may be called other things – as “guidelines” were during the “COVID” years. Whatever they call them, they will not be voluntary. They may tell us we’re “locked down” (the public is now used to this, having been deliberately conditioned to get used to it, ever since the Boston Marathon bombing, long before “COVID”) and possibly that we are required to leave our homes and go wherever they decide to take us. Our federally issued scrip (which is actually controlled by the not very “federal” Fed, a cartel of private banks) may be rendered as worthless as Confederate Dollars or we may simply be locked out of our bank accounts, with everything converted to a digital currency we’re allowed to use with various conditions attached (the cretins who manufactured the “COVID” event would have loved to have been able to enforce the lockdowns and “masking” and “vaccinating” via total control over peoples’ ability to buy and sell).

Fuel – expensive now – may become unavailable, soon. This happened during the last big (and actually declared) war. The federal government rationed fuel; this could certainly happen again.

What then?

Have you thought about what your life could suddenly be like if – just like that – you could no longer get fuel? Could not buy necessities, such as food? If you turn the tap one morning and no water comes out because the water supply has been cut off? If they send trucks to your neighborhood to cart you and your family away – for your safety, of course – will you go willingly?

There is a hurricane bearing down on the East Coast as I write this. People in its path knew it was coming and most of them made preparations. They perhaps got out of the hurricane’s way. Or they boarded up the windows of their homes, bought candles and food and made sure they had enough fresh water and so on to ride it out.

That is the key thing, I think. To ride it out. Whatever is coming is likely to be extremely unpleasant, just like a major hurricane. But – also like a hurricane – it will pass. The clouds will clear; the rain will stop.

And then it will be time to clean up the mess.
