Most of you know the story of the Emperor’s New Clothes. No one – other than one small boy – dared to admit openly what everyone knew. That the emperor wasn’t wearing any clothes at all – having been conned into believing in the existence of fantastic invisible clothes that only the morally enlightened could see. Not wanting to be seen (so to speak) as a moral defective, the emperor claimed he saw the magnificent clothes, spun from the finest material – and went along with the sham. As did almost his subjects. For fear of offending an idiotic orthodoxy.
Well, it’s the same with statism – and our side of things.
I believe the great success statism (worship of government; collectivism and control freakism generally) has enjoyed has to do with most people being afraid to call it out. Of letting euphemisms (“helping” the poor; “contributing” to Social Security; being a “customer” of the IRS and DMV) stand. Not asking who exactly “we” is when someone exclaims that “we” need government health insurance… .
I try to counter this in my writing, whatever I happen to be writing about – including new cars. To mention the unmentionables. The violence that lies behind the glib talk of mandating this or that for “safety.”
You guys know all about it.
But I’m hoping you can help me help others get to know about it.
Sites like EPautos (and writers like me) have a hell of a time getting noticed outside of our minor backwaters. Goo-guhl does its damndest to screw with our visibility (and economic viability) by undermining page ranking and traffic stats as well as mucking with search engines to direct people away from liberty-minded sites. Or better yet, keep people from ever discovering they exist at all.
But you can help by “seeding” other sites with clips/snippets from stuff you find here at EPautos – with links back to EPautos. We need just a bit more traffic to break through, to get big enough that they will have a much tougher time ignoring us. And squeezing us. If we can get our monthly traffic up by 50 percent or so, advertising will take care of itself. I am certain I’ll be able to get (among others) major car companies to place ads here. And we’d be on cruise control at that point.
So help me spread the message, by helping expand the audience/visibility of EPautos. Twitter us, Facebook us. Mention us. Buy a “No Clovers!” sticker, if you haven’t already. Take videos of Clovers. Help me kick him in the nuts.
It would help a lot.
We managed to crawl out of the well this month, incidentally. A big thank-you to all who chipped in over the past week especially. And to everyone.
EPautos is our machine. I’m just the guy behind the wheel. You guys are as essential as four good tires and gas in the tank.
I could’t roll without you.
