Fixes Coming!

Print Friendly, PDF & Email

I wanted to “hip” everyone to some good news. I have found computer help; real-deal serious computer help. All of the various glitches the site has been suffering of late should be resolved, soon. And we’ll be able to improve things around here, too. For example, some iteration of the old VBulletin Forum – a place or way that readers can start threads of their own, as opposed to simply posting in the comments threads following the articles I post.

In addition to letting you know about this, I wanted to thank you for this. Several recent donations have made it possible for me to get this stuff handled by someone who has The Gift.

So, thank you!

Your support is what makes this all possible, including a site that isn’t going to try to sell you anything while trying to tell you about something. (Don’t you hate the way so many sites and commentators mix their “content” with sales pitches?).

With much appreciation, I remain –

    • Me also, Moose!

The site may down for about 45 minutes tomorrow or Sunday; if so, that is the sign that the Fix is in! Most of the glitches that have plagued the site over the past year or so are due, as it turns out, to the current theme being years out of date. This caused incompatibility issues with various plug-ins; for example, the “ask Eric” button and also the pie chart on the main page – which I have been unable to update lately. No one “hipped” me to all of this, until I found the new guy – who seems to really know his stuff. The site ought to work much more smoothly, soon – and we’ll be able to add new features, too. I’m planning to re-introduce a Reader Forum where people can begin their own threads and so on without being restricted to the comments section after my articles.

Any other suggestions for improvements will also be appreciated!
