Trillionaire grifter Elon Musk – the man behind the DOGE show that did nothing to put money back in Americans’ pockets (more precisely, he/DOGE did nothing to reduce the pilferage of Americans by the government and the corporate lampreys that ride it) – said the other day not to worry about your financial condition because “an age of amazing abundance” is just around the corner, courtesy of the Tech Bros, AI and data centers. “The most likely outcome,” he assures us, is that soon “anyone can have anything they can think of.”
This would of course render Elon and the Tech Bros – Larry Altman, Sam Ellison, et al – just like the rest of us. Why, we’ll all be able to have mega-yachts and 20,000 square foot homes and private jets, too! If you believe this, you may believe that you’re also about to get a $5k check from Elon’s buddy in return for Voting Harder on Tuesday, next week. Those who do believe this have probably already forgotten about the other $5k check they were promised by the Dynamic Duo courtesy of all the “waste” that DOGE was rooting out.
There are also people still lining up for their free flu/COVID shots, too.
It’s all nonsense, of course. Trillionaires and billionaires are not looking to equalize things; to render all their wealth – and more importantly all their power – essentially meaningless, which is exactly what would happen if billions of humans were elevated to the material status of billionaires (or even millionaires). Elon is either special – a mild case of Down Syndrome or autism – which is not an unreasonable diagnosis if you look at him or listen to him; his observations aren’t brilliant but ordinary – or he is something else. The bulk of the evidence suggests it is something else.
He is the son and grandson of technocrats – the people described by Aldous Huxley in Brave New World, his novel about a managed future society in which adults had been turned into docile grown-up adolescents, programmed from before conception via genetic manipulation to be biological cogs in a vast machine. The World Controller – a working synonym for technocrat – was Mustapha Mond. He and a few other controllers were allowed a degree of autonomy as well as intelligence, in the awareness sense. They alone consciously understood the nature of the society – the machine – they’d built. It is the machine Elon and the Tech Bros are building, with the connivance of Trump – a man the Tech Bros probably look upon the way an intelligent mafia don regards his best enforcer; i.e., a useful thug. Trump lately demands everyone stop referring to the AI God the Tech Bros are building as artificial intelligence but rather, super intelligence. It has a reverential smack to it, doesn’t it?
Wen I first heard Trump use the term, my mind flashed to Brave New World and its cult of Fordism – the veneration of the assembly line and the reducing of human beings to interchangeable widgets, all basically the same. The people in Brave New World would make the sign of the T – a parody of Catholics crossing themselves. They would refer – reverently – to Our Ford and also to his Fordship, which was the everyday title of Mustapha Mond.
“Saving money for the distant future is pointless with the advent of super intelligent abundance,” says his Fordship (whoops, Musk). What he really means by this is that in the not-so-distant-future, you and I and about 99 percent of the human population will be reduced to servile dependence on the Tech Bros and their all-encompassing “technate,” which is their own behind-closed-doors term for their long-sought, long-planned Brave New World in actuality.
Elon himself is an interesting character. More finely, the dog-leash way so many people have been trained to either love or hate him (and then reverse that) is extremely interesting. Go back to before “COVID” and pretty much everyone on the right loathed the man on account of his greasy electric car grift. Tesla was the tip of the EV spear. Tesla was used to create the wound, which was then turned into a gaping gout that has not only cost the car industry billions but also us many thousands. Pushing EVs into mass production triggered a massive increase in the cost of non-electric cars, to offset the losses of EVs and also because of all the compliance tech that had to be added to non-electric cars to make them viable in a regulatory environment that punished the manufacturing of any vehicle equipped with an engine that has more than four cylinders or that isn’t a hybrid.
It has also been the main reason for the near doubling of the cost of car insurance – because we’re all paying for the much higher repair/replacement cost of EVs, even if we do not own one.
The right despised Musk for this – until their leash was tugged in the opposite direction. This was achieved by Elon’s acquisition of Twitter – curiously named after the CIAs little blue bird – which became Xcrement, the supposed home of Free Speech. The Left’s leash got tugged by this and now the Left hates Elon, whom the Left had previously loved because he was the doughy face of the EV push, which aligned with their training to yelp with approbation whenever they were told a thing is “green.”
It’s almost hilarious except it isn’t funny.
What Trump calls the Golden Age draws nigh. Only it’s the kind of golden – for you and me – that attends a certain kind of shower.
