Communism is a fundamental lie.
Simple statement, easily substantiated.
What is meant by “communism”? Or rather, what is misled by the term?
It is not communal ownership. That is an idiocy for moral and actual imbeciles; a rhetorical trick, the play on words that plays on some people’s resentments over their condition and that of others, whom they regard as unfairly having more – or just because they have more.
So-and-so’s family has money, a nice house. Others do not.
Under “communism” things will be more “equitable.”
It all sounds very nice – to the morally and actually imbecilic. And it perhaps it would be nice – if it were voluntary – as greasily implied by the term. Just everyone coming together, all pitching in for the “common good.”
Share and share alike.
But communism – the actual thing, in practice – is coercive collectivism; an oligarchical hierarchy in which the operational ownership of everyone by a few someones – the ones who control the apparatus of coercion – defines the order of things.
A ruling elite – the Party and those positioned to leverage the Party’s power to apply coercion – the administrators and bureaucrats – control all economic and thus human activity, since there is an economic element to every human action – even to the extent of going to the bathroom. Who shall provide the plumbing? What sort of plumbing? Who will have access to the plumbing?
This is the actuality. It is incontestable. Unless a person is an actual imbecile.
“Communism” is a fantasy, an unreality. A mind trick played upon people with weak minds by people with evil minds. Has there ever – even once – been a communist ruler who did not have the blood of millions – literally – on his hands?
Ah, but this time it will be different!
Those communists were not true “communists.”
It seems to work every time. At least when imbeciles abound. 
The individual is not free to join the communist collective – nor to depart from it.
Communism is always imposed.
The handful of times that rhetorical “communism” has been tried, it has always quickly failed as there was no force to hold it together. And force is inherently necessary in a system where no one owns anything while a few someones inevitably control everything.
Everyone within the “communist” collective is under murderous duress.
There is only the freedom to submit – or be punished for not submitting. Not to the will of the collective – the “people,” as communists dishonestly style it – because there is no such thing. There are simply some people – who tell all the other people what they will do. These people control everything. They therefore have practical ownership of everything.
And thus, own everyone.
It is not very equitable.
Nor is it communal – as authentic communities are not held together by razor wire and bayonets. Actual communities are held together by bonds of affection and commonality; they are our families and our circle of friends; the people we know in the community – with whom we associate, freely.
That is equitable.
It allows for the natural human desire to commune with those of common interest – and to not commune with those one has nothing in common with. Real community frees people to interact, without coercion. To agree – to disagree. To live – and to let live.
This is civilization, the antithesis of communism.
But the rhetorical trick of “communism” lulls the foolish – who are used by the cynical. The latter promise a world in which everyone is equal, in both physical and material terms. It is a thing impossible in actual terms as regards the former because it is at odds with nature, whose laws cannot be repealed – as well as a lie (again) as regards the latter – as demonstrated, repeatedly, by the consolidation of operational ownership of all material things worth mentioning by the Party elite.
The trick used to keep focus off the fact of their ownership of all material things worth mentioning is to label those things “state property” – the “people’s” property – though the actual people are not the ones who use and enjoy the dachas and cars and airplanes – etc. – that are haughtily styled “state property.”
In pupal communist systems – such as the one forming in what was once the United States – the term favored is “government property.” But it amounts to the same thing. Which is that “the people” – the actual people – do not own any of it.
Typically, they are debarred all use of it. Or even to see it (e.g., the vast tracks of “government property” in what was formerly the United States, much of it off limits to “the people,” even so far as to cast their gaze upon it; the actual people of the United States may not set foot in the various “areas” set aside as “government property” in Nevada, New Mexico and so on).
Just try entering the “people’s house” – Congress – and you will quickly discover who owns what.
The genius of this technique is that in addition to dispossessing the people without the people appreciating the fact of their dispossession is that it keeps the members of the Party/government elite in line. An official lives in a nice apartment – or dacha, the Russian/Soviet term for a country house – and has a servant (one of the “people”) but he does not personally own these things.
He is given use of them, so long as he is of use – to the Party.
If the Party decides he is no longer of use, he becomes one of the “people” again. He is thereby given every incentive to be of use. Which means in practice the abuse of “the people,” who are only of use to the Party/government so long as they obey it.
That is communism, the actuality – as opposed to the rhetorical device of “communism,” used to lure dullards into it.

Most people don’t realize how much land in the western USA is “owned” by the feds. Less than 5% of Alaska is privately owned. The feds own 60% and the state itself the remainder. Nevada is even worse at 85% federal ownership. Utah is at 65%, Idaho 62%, Oregon at 53%, California 46%, Wyoming 48%, Arizona 38%, Colorado 35%.
We have communism already.
Most of this land is locked away, not used for anything. Not a national parks or forests, not leased out, nothing, just laying doing nothing.
Imagine if this land was opened up for sale and development. There would be booms again as people leave overpriced areas for a new life.
If sold it could pay off the federal debt without taxing us all to the poorhouse. In fact when that bill is due, that’s how it will have to be paid, as it is the only thing creditors will want, as the government has nothing else of any real value.

You are absolutely correct, that the government owns everything in practice, despite the rhetoric of everybody owning it. Let me give you some concrete examples. Say you have a nice fruit tree in front of “your” house. Picking fruit from that tree is a crime, because it’s a communal tree, not yours. Since communism makes you destitute, how do people get homes or apartments? You get on a waitlist to buy them at subsidized prices. In one of my uncles’ cases, he didn’t have a place to live for about twenty years as he waited his turn. The wait to get a phone was about eight years, but you couldn’t afford to use it once you got it. In the 1980’s, I was going to an outhouse, had no running water, and intermittent electricity outside a city of 300,000, while my West German neighbors were enjoying cars, electricity and TV. Do you know how different life is without reliable electricity? You can’t have refrigeration, for one.
After the soviet puppets took power, all private homes were converted into 99 year leases as part of the communist take over, so your family would eventually lose your home had communism lasted that long. They knew that seizing them immediately meant revolution, but this bullshit of delaying to the future works, since people have more urgent problems to deal with.
By the end of it, the government had to keep recruiting more and more of society into being secret police spies, so everyone got suspicious of everyone else, people were slow to make friends, everyone was getting depressed, isolated and drunk. oh yeah, booze was plentiful and cheap.

When it comes to occasional (or chronic) dollar shortages, and the plumbing of the overnight lending market, which as everyone knows suffered a spectacular heart attack early this week when the overnight repo rate soared to 10%, the New York Fed and its open markets desk, is the authority on any potential plumbing blockages.
Yet it now appears that the most important regional Fed when it comes to maintaining market stability, is just as clueless as the rest of us as to why the repo market froze up. sending funding rates to never before seen highs.
The expectation had been that as repo rates rose, banks would withdraw excess cash held at the Fed and lend it into the repo market to earn the higher rate of interest. Instead, the New York Fed had to step in to provide that cash as banks remained on the sidelines as banks were terrified to enter the repo market.
Which in turn begs the question: just why are the big, well-funded banks so afraid to share some of their liquidity with their less fortunate peers? What do they know that we – and the NY Fed – don’t?
Banks with excess reserves at the Fed would rather get the fed 0.25% rate than risk capital in the repo market for 10%.
The large banks hold a disproportionate share of the reserves and the rest of the system is undercapitalized. The big players with reserves aren’t going to lend their reserves to underfunded counterparties unless they are compensated. Hence the repo rate spikes that burst the pipes that impact capital markets which impact wall street which impact main street.
That tells you 10% no-where near equals an adequate return on risk, and that the real repo rate should be 100% or 150%, or no-offer, which it was.

Just wanted to point out again that democracy IS communism. In a democracy, you have NO rights and everything is subject to a vote and every vote is subject to the agitation of an ideologue (propaganda). That’s why the law is that the federal union of states and all of the individual states are to be a republican form of government. That’s the law and they have to obey. If not, it must be enforced by the people. So far, we’ve failed.

No. It is not. It is a satisfactory and elegant account of the movements of celestial bodies (sun, stars, planets, etc.). The heliocentric model wasn’t developed as a way to account for the seemingly flat nature of the Earth from a human’s perspective. If that was the issue, we’d still be at flat-earth level. Instead, ingenious astronomers needed a way to account for what would otherwise be completely arbitrary and inexplicable movement of the lights in the sky. Round Earth does it elegantly and definitively.
Oh, and, if you’ve ever had a chance to see the ocean as the entire horizon from a high-ish point, like in Big Sur, the curve of the Earth is unmistakably discernible. No “faith” necessary.

Most of the western US land mass is “public” land. That land isn’t subject to property taxes. Colorado schools, we are told, are constantly underfunded despite the state boundary enclosing an area the size of several of the original 13 colonies, all of whom seem to fund their schools just fine (or at least they did until the Department of Education was established, but that’s for another time).
Private land values are skyrocketing in the state and instead of developing unproductive public land, productive grazing and farmland are being converted to housing. Uncle could open up the public lands for homesteading, but because powerful people own extremely valuable properties adjacent to the public lands every ski town has a housing crisis with no possible solution.
It could be homesteaded by adverse possession. In Missouri, if you live on a property and work it for ten years without paying rent, you own it.

I realize the point is moot, but the Constitution is quite clear on prerequisites for federal land ownership/use. “land needed for forts, magazines, and other needful buildings, with permission from the State’s legislature”. Not the precise wording, but the federal government has no constitutional authority to own land, except DC, unless its going to build something on it, and the State’s legislature permits them to do so.
Territories would be an exception, since they don’t have a State legislature.
Well, if that constitutional principle were honored, there would be no need for “adverse possession” (which is a way of changing ownership). Acquiring title would only be a matter of genuine homesteading, which doesn’t have the ten-year requirement. If you improve unclaimed land, it’s yours, under that fundamental principle.
Not sure if it is still true, but I believe at one time you could acquire title to U.S. Gov’t land by staking, and working, a legitimate mining claim for a term of years.
I remember reading about this in the 1970s. IIRC, the amount of land was 10 acres. I do not recall the details of how long it was required to work the claim, or if the mining operation was required to show a profit.

Based on my recollection, most of the Navajo tribal leaders were staunch Republicans, and proud to be U.S. citizens as well as members of the Navajo Nation, years ago. Maybe things have changed, I don’t know. I left New Mexico for California in the 1970s, although my sister still lives there.

Interesting. As I said, I haven’t lived there for many years. Evidently the white man’s schools now include mandatory classes in victimology, which was not the case years ago.

She was born in Albuquerque, and graduated from Highland High School, class of 1965. I graduated HHS class of 1966, and remember Leslie from Spanish class my junior (her senior) year. I also played little league baseball with her younger brother, Ritchie. Their dad, Lee Marmon, was a well known photographer.
Leslie may have attended AIS, as stated on her Wikipedia page, but I know for a fact she graduated from HHS, which is omitted from that page.
As you can see from her Wikipedia (victim status!) page, she dropped out of UNM Law, and became a “professional Indian.” Got a MacArthur “genius” grant. There’s gold in them thar Foundations! Yee, haw!
In the 1970s, I worked with a Navajo man named Harold Dixon, whom we called “Harold Dixon USA” for his super patriotic attitude towards the U.S. Government. He was also proud to be a member of the Navajo Nation; the two are not mutually exclusive.
Northern New Mexico Spanish-Americans nearly always voted Democrat in those days, but that is most likely because they were desperately poor. I doubt they regarded themselves as “victims” at that time. For one thing. the word “Chicano” had not yet been invented, and the rural folks were mostly not well educated (or indoctrinated). The poor “mountain people” eking out a living in remote villages in Rio Arriba County and elsewhere are entirely analogous to the Appalachian “hillbillies.”

The safety cult always bears the siren song of communism here in the U.S. “Buckle up”, “Stay home, stay safe”. All one in the same. Every safety slogan that the lying bureaucrats put out there is in the guise of benevolence. Nothing could be further from the truth. The honest reason is that of raping your body, mind and soul.
If you’re not hip on rape, there’s always the option of death. Ahh, the benevolence sure tastes totalitarian doesn’t it.
