My job as a writer is to put things in words so as to change minds. This is not something that happens overnight, though it can. A fine example being Paine’s Common Sense. It galvanized a general determination to resist based on an understanding that the colonists were not going to comply (and plead) their way out of the position they were in. So I do what I do and hope it helps facilitate the doing of grander things. If it does, I will consider that I have not spent my time foolishly.
