A friend of mine is a combat veteran of the “fight for freedom” in the Middle East. He conveyed to me an interesting discussion he had with a mutual acquaintance who is very gung-ho about combat in Venezuela and maybe once again in the Middle East. The acquaintance works in the medical field and so has a critical skill that means he can sign up to “fight for freedom” even though he is in his 50s.
My combat vet friend asked him why he hasn’t done just that, in view of the stiffy he has for what Trump is doing.
Cue the backpedaling.
Is it not always such with these people? Trump being the leader of such people, along with the likes of pudgy old chickenhawks such as Lindsey Graham and that anorexic, botox’d iteration of the Bitch of Buchenwald who says the woman shot in the face by an ICE thug in Minneapolis yesterday for the crime of Attempting to Drive Away was a “domestic terrorist.”
Eager, they are, to see others die – from a distance. The killing – and the dying – done by others.
It feels like we’ve reverse-timed back to the era of The Chimp, which was the last time the Chickenhawk Brigades of the Republican Party got a stiffy for regime-changing in far-away countries they’d personally never “serve” in but were eager for others to “serve” in.
What American interests are served? What other interests are served? These are two questions almost never asked, especially at the beginning of the regime-changing, when the chords of Lee Greenwood’s anthem for the Chickenhawks and Flag Humpers is cued up.
It is worth remembering that the last time that Lee Greenwood anthem got cranked up and the Chickenhawks and Flag Humpers lined up, The Chimp enjoyed 90 percent approval, according to the polls. It lasted for just as long as it didn’t – and then we got the backlash, in the person of Barry Obama. The we got Trump – and the “emergency” that didn’t end, along with drugs being Warp Speeded and pushed on the entire country by Biden.
Which brought back Trump.
What will the backlash be when this latest fight for freedom sours? Maybe it is exactly the 5D chess attributed to the spray-tanned man, whose bone spurs prevented him from fighting for freedom in Vietnam. Maybe the purpose of Trump’s 2024 election year schtick was to discredit the nationalist-populist movement he rode back into office, demoralize those who support this movement and energize the forces that oppose it.
The fact that his first year is achieving exactly this purpose is strong evidence it has been the plan all along.
Or at least, part of the plan.
Apparently, Israeli forces were embedded with the U.S. forces that snatched el jefe Maduro and his wife. If this is true, then the operation was an American-Israeli operation. Or the reverse. Why would agents of a foreign power be involved in a U.S. operation, if it was a U.S. operation? Why are American police being sent to Israel to be trained in the tactics used by the IDF?
Cue that Lee Greenwood song. It is very safe and effective. The critical faculty shuts off as the first note plays; the war stiffy swells as the chorus begins.
But the mutual acquaintance of my combat vet friend and myself won’t be donning a uniform.

The events that resulted in the shooting were mostly caused by the victim. She first used her car to block the agents vehicle. So she used the car as a weapon to try to intimidate officers. They get out walked up to her gand told her to get out. She did not get out. Instead, with the officers still standing right by her car, she suddenly floored the gas pedal. Narrowly missing the officer who fired his weapon. Should the officer have kept his gun in the holster while she made this move. What would have happened if she had gotten out of the car. She would be alive.
If you choose to play chicken with humans standing near your 2,000 lb car and the people you are playing chicken with are officers with guns and not some kid or other civilian there should be an expectation that someone will likely get hurt badly. Either by the car or the gun.
In the words of the immortal Mr. Miyagi, best way avoid punch, no be there. Yes, this woman should have exercised better judgement, and had better situational awareness. It is unwise to interject oneself into federal enforcement operations, particularly now with all of them jacked up, emboldened, and trigger happy. With the empire lashing out, as if it’s entering its death throes.
But in no way did her actions justify a summary execution, with a bullet to the face. Stop. Just stop with this bootlicking shit. And stop blaming the victim.
Don’t you see? These ICE operations are a prelude to something else. To set the precedent for what will be coming. To intimidate. To instill fear. To keep all of us from protesting when they come to gore our ox. To warn us that those bullets have our name on them too. That they will soon go full tilt, particularly when team blue regains control. Wake the F up.
From the video it appears that the ICE officer who stepped in front of the woman’s vehicle had only two options: 1) Move out of the way; or 2) Shoot the driver and then move out of the way. Of course he chose to shoot the driver first. She played a dangerous game against a dangerous foe and lost. That dangerous foe was a civilian; ICE agents are not part of the US military.

While he was out driving I went to McDonalds for a burger (yeah yeah at 70 I’ll do this occasionally) all Hispanic customers and help, save for two old white guys me and another dude that wandered in. Driving thru that town was, like, “am I dreaming?” It was surreal, the place literally looked like small town Mexico most business signs in Spanish not English.

What I saw was the woman attempting to drive away – not run the ICE goon down. She bumped him slightly as she did so – and then he shot her dead. I see this as deliberate murder. She wasn’t armed; she wasn’t a fleeing felon. Just some lefty Karen annoyed at ICE. Ideally, of course, in a libertarian society, a properly armed citizenry could take matters into their own hands, as regards the defense of private property and protection of borders.

I’m surprised the USS Liberty attack was blamed on Israel – though reported as an “accident” and LBJ did everything to cover it up – and unfortunately, even many of the USS Liberty survivors themselves refuse to blame Israel…most likely have been paid off to keep quiet or are brainwashed “judeo-christians” who believe “the chosen” ones can do no wrong. There were many bombings in Europe during the “cold war” era that were blamed on commies and the Soviets but were actually committed by the CIA, sometimes with Israeli help.

I’ve noticed something over the past several years. What is it with people who claim to be Anti-war get all gung-ho for war if the president who’s currently in office is a member of their political party and “goes to war with a foreign country” regardless of whether he gets congressional approval? When W was president, we had many Democrat voters oppose the Afghanistan & Iraq Wars, but when Barack Obama & Joe Biden were in office, most of them were SILENT when we had MORE WARS going on under those 2 presidents.
And now, a similar thing seems to be happening with many Republican voters while Trump is president. And Democrat voters who were mysteriously pro-war under Obama & Biden are now Anti-war under Trump.
People are only opposed to war when their opposition suggests it, or engages in it. Oh, the reasons (whether D’s or R’s) may appear, at first glance, to be different. When really, if people were truly awake, they would realize that both sides love the same wars for the same reasons. The reasons are just packaged differently for each side. In the end, it is the divide-and-conquer strategy that has served said politicians (and war mongers) well over the years. For sadly, the public is too busy in the bleachers cheering for “their guy” who is currently in power, and rejoicing that “their opposition” was defeated. When really, at the end of the day, “meet the new boss, same as the old”.

By the way, almost 20 years ago, a freshman U.S. Senator named Barack Obama ran for president on, among other things, a platform of NO MORE WARS after the wars we were involved in under George W Bush, but after Obama got into office, we had MORE WARS, and most people who opposed wars under W didn’t say SQUAT about wars under Obama.
The D’s and R’s make too much money starting wars. Therefore, even if the Democrats regain power, they will continue the war strategy. They (the D’s) will simply repackage the reasons differently, so as to fool stupid voters into believing that something will change because THEY are in power now. When really, it will not. But hey, “voting the rascals out” make a voter feel better, at least, right?
There are people in my family who think that Democrats regaining power will result in change despite DECADES of history showing regardless of which political party is controlling Congress, it changes little to nothing in the corrupt mafia known as the U.S. government.
I wonder if there is any waking these people up? I have my doubts. And how/ why one wakes up while another does not is a mystery.

My thoughts on this: Many people aren’t necessarily dumb – in the low IQ sense – but they never developed the conceptual faculty as regards abstract ideas. This happens because they were not taught how to reason. Rather, they were trained to learn various skills. This makes them capable of work – including even high level/specialized work – but incapable of the kind of thinking that the classical world respected and promoted, as via the Trivium in early education. Without that, you end up with people who do not “connect the dots” because they do not begin from a principle and apply it to a particular thing. And here we are.

What’s particularly odd is people who once called Dick Cheney names like Darth Vader when he was Vice President but cheered him when he endorsed Kamala Harris for president over Donald Trump during the 2024 presidential campaign. And shortly after Cheney passed away last year, those same people gave speeches PRAISING him as some sort of “Dedicated Public Servant” during his time in government.

Depending on the individual, the only true response to evil of this nature is to leave. If you have the means, leave for a less bad and much cheaper country. Life here is only going to become much, much worse.
