Well, yesterday, the head of the FBI said the following:
“You cannot bring a firearm, loaded, with multiple magazines to any sort of protest that you want. It’s that simple.”
This is the man Trump appointed head of the FBI. Ergo, he is the man Trump approves to lead the FBI. Trump has amen’d his approval by not firing this man, who clearly neither understands what the law is and/or has contempt for it.
The fact is you have a right to bring a firearm, “loaded, with multiple magazines” to “any sort of protest you want” in states where it is still legal for American citizens to carry a loaded firearm. As in MN, where a man was executed in the street by armed government “agents” who took the man’s legally carried pistol.
It is that simple. It is that alarming.
This is what those of us who voted for Trump voted against. Yet – mirabile dictu – we have as the head of the FBI a man whose views of the first and second amendment are in congruence with those of Joe Biden’s head of the FBI. Or whoever Kamala Harris would have anointed.
It is sickening.
Who vetted this Patel person? 
Trump’s defenders say that – the first time around – his mistake was having the wrong people around him. They undermined his efforts to Make America Great Again. Trump got a second chance to not make that same mistake again – and he clearly has.
Assuming it was a mistake – either time.
The evidence suggests it’s not. Conclusive evidence will either appear – or not – within the next 24 hours in the form of Patel being fired for what he said, which tells us what he thinks. No apology is going to salve this. He has to go. If he stays, we will know that MAGA is a con job. The evidence strongly suggests that already but this will be definitive because it is indefensible. 
Just as what happened to Alex Pretti is indefensible. He was not a “domestic terrorist.” At worst, he was a man who thought this was still America. The country where an American could expect to not be summarily executed in the street by a thug scrum of government agents, for the affront of talking back to government agents and attempting to shield a woman thrown to the ground and pepper sprayed by government agents.
Patel has excelled at shielding the Epstein Stuff from public scrutiny.
It is to be hoped that the people who are on the liberty side of the fence will not make the same mistake that those on the other side make. That mistake being to put their politics ahead of their principles. To dismiss with contempt ugly facts when these ugly facts make someone on their side of the fence look bad – because they are bad.

Eric has already pointed out that the methods being used by ICE are going to result in deportation of only a tiny fraction of this number. You cannot deport even one million illegal aliens by sending ICE agents into crowds and grabbing people off the street, let alone 30-50 million.
This is not about illegal immigration. It is about using illegal immigration to get Americans used to having armed federal government agents engaging in police state tactics and terrorism. It is about using resistance to these police state tactics in order to strip away American’s second amendment rights. It is about fomenting a civil war in order to ultimately justify imposition of martial law.

I never said do nothing. I did say that deporting 75,000 annually is next to nothing. There are at least 10 million Me Gustans on the loose. Rounding up 75,5000 or even 100,000 of them is like chucking back a Dixie cup full of water into the ocean. I also said I think there are more effective ways to deal with his problem, such as defunding the illegals. And I have said that I think what’s going on now will only serve to further-along the police state that Trump seems to very much want.

Not on Americans in the streets who are legitimately troubled by the spectacle of body-armored, masked and heavily armed paramilitary goons snatching people off the streets.
Sure, and I think that is coming. But you have to understand these Americans in the street are, if they interfere in any legal law enforcement action, have stepped over the line. At the very least obstructing, which I would ignore, but also accessory after the fact. Most states and the feds have accessory laws on the books for exactly that reason. You interfere with an officer trying to apprehend a fugitive from justice, you, as accessory, have just earned yourself half the fugitive’s sentence.

Dunno, but that is also what the concealed carry handbook from about 5 years ago said, too. Minnesota had such a large number of exceptions that we don’t bother going through MN anymore. It’s only about a half hour of extra driving. IL, yeah, I travel through there, but I do put it in a custom stash in the floorboards, and we stop for nothing but fuel and potty breaks.
Thinking a bit more on it, it’s probably case law somewhere. Not a statute at all, but simply judicial precedent. Not that there’s much of a distinction.

Anyone who carries – legally carries – a gun is risking being shot if he comes into contact with “law enforcement.” It is not necessary to seek out the law enforcers. They seek you out – as during a traffic stop (over nothing) as happened to me just the other day. The law enforcers sees my gun – shrieks gun! – and shoots me dead. Because I was a “threat” to his “safety.” Because he saw a gun.

I don’t believe that’s the case. Everyone whose take I looked at, including the one you linked to in the article, uses the same side shot where you can’t know what the shooter actually saw. Some use the vid showing the shooter’s back to make other points, but from that angle, it looks like he could not see what happened to the gun. He could not see who pulled it. I’m not even sure he had eyes on an empty holster.

Protesting is a fundamental right. Being armed is a fundamental right. So they’re being assholes, worst case shoot them with a bean bag or tear gas.
They are trigger happy and the fact that none of them have to face a public trial proves their status as Praetorian Guard and we’re an occupied country but the Think Blue Line.

The fact that you go to great pains to differentiate the victims “those victims were good people, the other victims support the wrong thing” screams loud and clear that you still don’t get it. Seriously, reading the comments on this forum for the last couple weeks is incredibly discourage, if this is how many people who claim to be on the side of “liberty” think we are doomed.

Both parties support mandatory FBI permission to buy a gun, which was instituted by Clinton but promoted by the republican James Brady and his wife. Chimp said he would sign a renewal of the federal assault weapons and magazine ban that Clinton and Schumer enacted from 1994-2004 if it passed the House (but it didn’t).
Some states DO actually make it illegal to carry at a protest. North Carolina, California, Illinois and New York do. In New York it is a felony.
This is very interesting, because if you are caught in the middle of “mostly peaceful” (sic) protests like the George Floyd riots or the LA riots, you will just have to let the mob try to kill your white ass because it will be a felony to defend yourself (cf. Denny, Reginald).

Spot on. ZeroHedge makes tons of money from online ads. In turn, the advertisers (via Google) require that ZH police comments to remove certain forbidden themes.
First and foremost, one cannot notice or speak about the J’s (who after all, founded Google). A respectful blind eye, like that of a trusted butler who overlooks his master’s peccadilloes and drunken indiscretions, is required.

You’re spot on about this. Jaw drops open lately at the number of conservatives who work overtime justifying why this or that person should have died. I’m a conservative but don’t go there. All I’d say is that there is a level of agency that the latest dead “protestors” employed that got ’em taken down. IMO their “leaders” are quite happy to have a bunch more of them dead…it’s about changing public opinion on enforcing immigration law.
