Asking why – and expecting to get an answer that makes sense – is the basis of all common sense. To just do as you’re told is the defining attribute of someone who lacks the quality that once upon a time defined an adult vs. a child. It is probably true that children who are taught to just do as they are told become adults who do as they are told. Parents who want their children to become adults make plain the reason why they tell their child to do as they are told. Because it is important to a child’s development to developing understanding as to why – as opposed to just because.
Assuming you expect them to grow up some day.
Why is it that we are not allowed to buy – more finely, to legally drive – a vehicle such as a side-by-side or ATV or any other kind of vehicle on what are said to be public roads? If they are the public’s roads, doesn’t that imply they are everyone’s roads, to be shared by all? Of course, the “public” roads are in fact the government’s roads, just the same as “public” schools are government schools. Use of the term “public” is just mind-diddling, intended to cause people to think of what is controlled by the government as being owned by the people.
Why are new vehicles – the ones we’re allowed to drive on the government’s roads, at any rate – so expensive? Most of the reason why has to do with the government laying down what are called “standards” that every manufacturer of cars must abide by, in order for the cars they make to be legal to sell and legal for us to drive on the government’s roads. But why should this be so? The government does not pay for the roads, after all.
We do.
We pay a fee to use the roads every time we buy gas or diesel. Is it not an affront that we who pay to use the roads – and pay for their building and maintenance, etc. – are told how we’ll be allowed to use the roads? Is it not as effronterous as being told by the government what we may and may not do with what we like to think of as our own lawns and backyards and everything else that is situated on what we like to think of as “our” property?
Of course, we are merely allowed conditional use of what is in fact that government’s property – because we must pay the government rent (even if we “own” the property) and because even though we pay the government, the government still tells us what we’re allowed to do and may not do on and with “our” property.”

But why should it be illegal to drive one of those side-by-sides or similar on what are supposedly the public roads? It makes sense to argue that no one ought to drive an overloaded vehicle or one with bald tires or bad brakes on the public roads because those kinds of things could end up leading to someone else getting hurt. If someone else actually does get hurt, then it makes sense – because it is just – to hold the person responsible accountable.
No one who has a conscience feels affronted when they are expected to make whole others they’ve harmed.
It is interesting, in this vein, that everyone who is forced to pay a fine for such things as “speeding” and not “buckling up” feels affronted, because they know they’ve harmed no one and understandably resent being made to pay just because.
Well, who is harmed by someone else driving a side-by-side or an ATV or a dune buggy on the so-called “public” roads? We assume here the vehicle is in good working order; i.e., it does not have bad brakes or bald tires, etc. How does the fact that it might not have side glass or air bags or even seat belts threaten harm to others?
The question answers itself.
Yet it is not legal for the public to drive such four-wheeled vehicles on what are clearly not “public” roads – even though it is legal to ride a two-wheeled vehicle (a motorcycle) that has no side glass or air bags, either.
Why is that?

The fundamental thing about Bitcoin that bothers me is that it’s digital money. Anything online is a thing you and I don’t control. Put another way, it is something that can be controlled by vague “others” – and there’s next to nothing ordinary peons can do about. Far worse than dealing with an AI phone tree to resolve a problem with the credit card. I also do not buy that anything online is anonymous. I have heard all about the supposed firewalls and protocols and I just don’t buy it. The only thing that is anonymous is physical money – even including paper dollars.
I am old fashioned, and think that gold and silver (and other precious metals) are the way to go in wealth preservation. But, only the gold and silver you have in your hands. Stored metals, or “gold stocks” are nothing, in my own opinion. They say you cannot eat gold, and that is true. For a time, however, such metals will make good bartering tools, among other things.

BTC is useful for the same sort of activity that wire transfers were good for, but less expensive. You need to get money out of China because Xi Jinping is cracking down on unsanctioned corruption? As for anonymity, wallet washing isn’t very hard to do if you can avoid the big exchanges for transactions.
But I agree that holding forever is a bad strategy. There are much safer and better investments. Much of the run up over the last 5-7 years has been due to getting money out of Hong Kong. Now that that’s pretty much over, the appeal of BTC is much lower and demand has fallen. If Taiwan gets taken over by China, or there’s another round of “reforms” on the mainland, it will probably spike again. But the rest of the world wants gold, not bits.

I would like it if – just once – these trolls would man up and identify who they really are and (as the saying has it) put up or shut up. They never do. Remember Clover? To think that maybe the evil parasites on “our team” will help us is insanity. I’ve seen this hope over and over again throughout my lifetime.
What needs to occur in these situations is more killdozers and less begging and pleading and hoping the evil ones will please be less evil.

Hard to believe a local government could be so ham handed and out of touch. Those daily fines are HOA from hell level stuff. The neighborhood doesn’t look that nice. That kind of tyranny is usually reserved for the state and feral level. Florida has some pretty hard core muhauthoritah type places. It also has some fabulous places to be left alone. You’d probably get fined even more. Concrete your front yard (of your own property) and the enforcers might try outright seizure through eminent domain. Just another example how we really don’t own what is rightfully ours.

The reason why GovCo doesn’t wanting you asking “Why” is because you might ask questions such as “Why does GovCo violate the Constitution with everything they do?” or “How can a Member of Congress be worth millions more than what they started with in just a few years?”
I’m sure we can always come up with more questions but sadly they will never be answered.

One narrative we were pounded with during COVID hysteria was “Don’t do your own research!”, which once upon a time used to be called READING! Given that the establishment wants all sorts of common sense stuff to be considered RIGHT WING or FAR RIGHT EXTREMISM, how long before asking questions instead of just “doing as you’re told” is also framed as RIGHT WING, particularly if there’s another plandemic?
