We are told by by several GOP politicos – including Senate Majority Whip John Barrasso and Majority Leader John Thune – that the Dirty Old Turtle is not just alive but well. They claim to have spoken with him for “20 minutes.” A picture of the Dirty Old Turtle looking at least a decade younger than his 86 years and sitting upright in his hospital bed, wearing blue jeans, has also been released.
This is, the public has been assured, proof of life. Well, we’ll see. If McConnell – the Dirty Old Turtle – actually is alive and well, we ought to be seeing him soon, back in the Senate. If the Dirty Old Turtle isn’t alive – or well – then these people who said otherwise ought to be indicted and prosecuted for various crimes, since it would be criminal to knowingly lie about the Dirty Old Turtle being dead or essentially dead since he is a senator and when a senator dies, there are immediate consequences, such as his or her replacement.
The Weekend at Bernie’s thing can only be maintained for so long. You can put dark sunglasses on a corpse and use strings or wires to make him wave hello. But even embalmed corpses start to rot after a few days and keeping a body on ice is hard to do when that body also has to be convincingly displayed.
All of this is just another manifestation of the now-reflexive dishonesty of the times. “COVID” metastasized what had been a kind of slow-growing cancer. Instead of suspicion they were lying to us, we saw they were blatantly lying to us. It’s not been the same since then and probably never will be, again. Not, at least, until this rotten structure – lousy with termites – collapses into a stinking heap and the heap gets bulldozed into a landfill and we start over, again. That’s what happened 250 years ago this July. It is what almost happened, again, 161 years ago – when the Southern Confederacy made its failed attempt to separate itself from the “union.” That word has taken on an almost holy connotation, as in holy matrimony. Marriage is indeed a sacred thing and ought not to be entered into lightly. It also ought not to be a permanently binding contract with no exit clauses.
Right now, all of us (well, at least half of us) are stuck in a very bad “marriage.” We are bound to a system that hates us and uses us and abuses us. One run by people like the Dirty Old Turtle and the recently but not dearly departed Senator from Tel Aviv. And Trump, for that matter. He is something like the person you married who turned out not to be what you thought you were marrying. A serial liar and cheater; a betrayer of promises and just an overall vile person. How do we divorce ourselves from him? From all of them? It will not be by getting “married” to more such people, who are the only kind of people we’re allowed to “marry.” It’s as if we’re contestants in a coercive Dating Game and have to pick Bachelorette One Two Or Three. There is no option to pick none of them – or some other Bachelorette of our own choosing.
Tucker Carlson touched on this recently in a talk he had with Mike Adams – the Natural News Guy. He talked about being exasperated by the bad marriage we’re all stuck in. At least, those among us who do not want to be stuck with an abusive spouse. I recommend listening to the conversation.
Meanwhile, we’ll see whether the Old Dirty Turtle surfaces. My money says he won’t. And then we’ll see what.
