If Face Diapers Work . . . How Come They’re Not Working?

As this country faces Mandatory Face Diapering – because the cases! the cases! – it’s interesting to note what’s happening in another country where Face Diapering has been mandatory for months.

The cases! The cases! are going up so much – in Britain – that the country is imprisoning its populace (i.e., “locking them down”) again.

What’s interesting about that is the fact that Face Diapering has been mandatory there for everyone, everywhere for months.

Which raises the question no one in the Sickness Cult – least of all its Archbishop, Joe Biden – seems interested in posing much less answering:

If Face Diapers “stop the spread,” why is the virus spreading in Britain?

Whatever your views about the dangers of the WuFlu, wearing a Face Diaper doesn’t offer much – if any protection – as evidenced by the fact that the cases! the cases! are increasing among a population that wears their Diapers all the time, everywhere.

The verdict is in.

Diapers don’t work.

So why wear a Face Diaper?

For reasons for that are several, none of them having anything to do with bodily health – the chief one being to stop the spread – of mental health.

People must be kept in a state of obeisant fear and that is most readily accomplished by insisting that everyone look as though they are terrified members of a Doomsday Cult. This serves the dual purpose of  terrifying the individual who is forced to wear the Diaper and of terrifying everyone else who sees nothing but Diapered people everywhere.

It creates the sight of a cult that everyone belongs to. This makes it extremely difficult for many people to show they aren’t cultists – even when they disbelieve in the cult’s bizarre theology – and even in the absence of enforcement.

There are many ways to understand this psychological operation.

One is the “racism” parallel, also used effectively by the same people pushing the Sickness Cult.

Most people are terrified of openly opposing any opinion which the arbiters of what is acceptable – the consolidated corporate media, its entertainment faction in Hollywood and of course the corporations themselves (who’ve succeeded, almost, in creating an oppressive nation-wide “company town” in which any sign of divergence from orthodoxy is punished by economic excommunication) declaim to be  . . . ” racist.”

Even to the extent of opposing or not enthusiastically amen’ing actually racist attitudes, such those expressed by the leadership of the Black Lives Matter movement, who’ve openly called for attacks on people who aren’t black and also even on black folks who don’t support the agenda planks of the BLM movement.

Most people genuflect, even if they don’t share the faith – because they are afraid of being seen as not believing.

The Face Diaper is of a piece, literally.

This piece of holy cloth is tangible evidence of submission to the faith. This faith must be enforced at all costs because if it should slacken or dissipate by visuals of obvious skepticism – the showing of faces – its power to terrorize and keep people submissive will falter.

The analogy here is The Wizard of Oz. He is great and terrible so long as Dorothy and her friends don’t see what’s behind the curtain. Once they do, the Wizard’s power wilts; he is no longer great and terrible.

He is just a crank pulling tricks on people.

This explains why the consolidated corporate media has been all over the cases! the cases! in Britain, expounding sonorously about the need to imprison – i.e., to “lock down” – the benighted, terrified people of that unfortunate country but utterly silent about the incongruity of the increase juxtaposed against the asserted universal palliative of Universal Face Diapering.

It didn’t “stop the spread.”

Ergo, there is no point in forcing Universal Face Diapering – unless the point is something other than “stopping the spread” . . . of a virus.

  1. The efficacy of masks isn’t going to be proven by comparing mask areas vs no mask areas. Sweden has no mask mandate but there’s a lot of evidence that the population is volunteering to mask up. Most Asian countries are the same way, and I’d add are quick to stay at home if they have a head cold, so why should Wuhan flu be any different for them? Meanwhile in the lockdown and mandatory mask areas, where people can be fined for going out with face unclothed, the actual numbers are about the same as in voluntary mask locales. Seems the police are less likely to issue anything more than a “helpful reminder” to mask up when it could lead to a $10,000 fine (and subsequent hassle and paperwork).

  2. Part of the problem with peoples perception is that they constantly try to convince themselves they can avoid death, if they do as they are told. Good luck with that. Those doing the telling are perfectly aware of the effect they produce. They have a plethora of psychological experts constantly exploring how best to manipulate the people’s perception. We cannot comprehend their effectiveness, since we would never attempt such a thing ourselves, being at least partly sane. The “tellers” are not. They’re all psychopaths. Their concern for your well being ends where it conflicts with theirs. Even as they convince their victims that they are concerned for nothing else. The agenda in play has nothing whatsoever to do with anyone’s health. Quite the contrary in fact. By the quite logical argument that Eric puts forth, NONE of the restrictions has a measurable effect on containing COVID. Which should come as no surprise, since no virus that has made its way into the general population has ever been contained. NOT ONE!! Any effective containment must come quite early in the appearance of such a virus. Add to that no effective vaccine against a corona virus has ever been produced, and it becomes obvious this entire charade is exactly that, a charade. We are told to abandon everything we have learned about viruses from our experience with them, and instead “believe” in our medical saviors. As in religion, or cultism.

  3. The mask debate should have ended a few weeks ago when the CDC admitted that COVID can be spread via airborne transmission, i.e. microscopic aerosol particles that travel beyond six feet and can linger in the air for minutes, if not hours at a time (and can easily penetrate the porous fibers of a cloth or paper mask).

A friend works at a nursing home and ever since the CDC made this admission, all nurses and workers are required to wear N-95 respirator masks because the administrators realized that surgical masks were useless to stop the spread. So why hasn’t the rest of America figured this out yet?

    https://datac.ca/the-cdc-has-acknowledged-that-covid-19-virus-can-be-airborne/

    • Hi Jim,

The rest of America hasn’t figured it out because the consolidated corporate media does not tell them – and that is how they get their “news.” The Face Diaper is a ritualistic garment, nothing more. Its purpose is not to “stop the spread.” It is to induct people into a cult – of compliance, based on fear and social pressure. To prepare them for the next thing.

I sometimes honestly regret not having seized my chance to become one of the “elite.” Had I done so, I’d now be rich and able to laugh along with the other members of the club at the pathetic spectacle of the human cattle trampling down the chute.

It is a real hobble to have a conscience.

  4. Dear Everyone Who is Sick of Seeing People not Masking:
That woman you shamed in the grocery store because she wasn’t wearing a mask? She already feels enough shame because she was raped. Having something over her nose & mouth triggers her PTSD, and causes her to relive that trauma.
That man at the Quickie Mart who you called selfish? He’s a volunteer firefighter, and just came from the ER, after being treated for smoke inhalation. He removed his air mask, in order to help a child breathe fresh air, instead of thick smoke.
That elderly lady who you screamed at to put a mask on, or shop when it’s her turn? Her husband of 60 years just passed away. She’s doing her best to learn to live alone. Every breath is physically painful, due to her grief.
That little boy you lectured about removing his mask? He’s autistic. He doesn’t understand. He simply wants it off of his face.
That little girl who screams when somebody tries to mask her? She’s claustrophobic. She came from an abusive home, where she was confined to a closet.
There are all sorts of reasons for not wearing a mask. Not all are lung, or immune system related.
I copied and pasted from a friend .. everyone needs to read this !!
How many of you are among those shaming, name calling, and berating complete strangers, or worse, family members? How many of you are against bullying?
If you are among the first group, and align with the second, you may want to pump the brakes, and check yourself… you have become the bully you claim to be against.
Wearing a mask does not make you a kind person. You are either a kind person, or you aren’t. A piece of cloth does not determine that trait.
On the flip side, not wearing a mask does not make a person selfish, or inconsiderate. It simply means that, there may be an unseen reason why they cannot wear one. You don’t know their story, and, to be quite honest, it’s none of your business.
Some of us also see where this mask business is going and we refuse to participate. The anxiety of tyrannical government coupled with Nazi-style narcing on your neighbor is enough to push a freedom-loving individual over the edge.
If someone is NOT wearing a mask—Mind your own business.
    Copy & Paste or don’t, just don’t be a mask bully…

  5. I know I’ve already said this numerous times, but the biggest (and perhaps the only) reason this shit-show is able to continue, as many of you here already know, is con-venience. After all, why leave your home to go somewhere, when you can do and get damn near everything online? Oh, and let’s not forget “free” everything. Don’t get me wrong. I’m certainly not against the internet or technology in general. In fact, I embrace it, but to a point. What I don’t embrace is ignorance and laziness, and then being forced to either “pick up the slack” or to “comfort” the neurotic dildos.

  6. The Radium Girls were instructed to use their lips moisten the tips of the small brushes to paint the radioactive paint on the watch hands and numbers. They also played with the radium paint, it was thought a healthy thing to do.

    Guess not.

The mask madness might have consequences that compromise your health.

Maybe not the same, but some temporary masks do have Polytetrafluoroethylene (PTFE), teflon, in them.

You just never know, you know.

  7. Lots of democrats got in. Noone voted for them though. You do the math. I bet they flip 25% of all republican votes. If they want me to believe these election results, then put a voter serial number on every ballot so that we can verify our vote was counted, and not flipped/changed.

I say throw all election officials and all govt employees in jail, feed them GMO food, and we’ll have a NEW election, whereby every voter gets a unique voter # put on their ballot so they can verify it was counted, and the ballot database from every country is put on a website and it’s in spreadsheet format so we can all download it and let our own home computer add up the totals, and we use a supermajority percent like at leat 67% so that’s a 2-to-1 winner-to-loser ratio. THEN if we find out this govt lied to us, and these democrats didn’t really get elected, then we torture them all to death.

GIVE ME FAIR ELECTIONS OF GIVE THE GOVERNMENT EMPLOYEES DEATH!

    • For example, for OR attorney general, the democrat got 51%, and the republican got 46%. That’s BS, because the republican candidate sounded awesome. There’s no way anyone would’ve voted for anyone else, no way. And what the heck is 51%? That’s not a majority. That’s not even fair. Everyone knows that. LOLOLOL this country is a freaking JOKE.

How can anyone be happy anymore? Everyone must be depressed. The poor kids have no future, it’s just hell for them. The adults have no future either, we worked our whole lives so that these evil dictators could pull the rug out from under us. They’ve been frauding us for decades, now they got their demon minions in everywhere, now they pulled the rug out from under us. Who the hell is going to go along with all of this? This is total annihilation, total insanity, suicide nation/world. Just drop a nuke on the whole planet — it’d be alot less painful.

    • Seriously, in 2020 why voting is still such a disaster is only because it’s easily manipulated. They don’t have a systemic problem with paperwork for mortgages or college applications or what have you. A few Bitcoin hackers could make an online voting system that’s more or less infallible, at least against the dunderheads in the Democrat party if not the CIA. Hell, I bet the IRS could produce a better system than we have now. When it comes to *getting* their money the FedGov doesn’t mess around.

      • Thank you anonymous, excellent points!!! You said what I said but in a more direct clear way with examples. Yeah, and when they want to whack us all with their whackcines, they’ll have a 100% perfectly accurate list of everyone who got it or didn’t, no fraud there.

You don’t even need Bitcoin hackers to make a voting system — it’s stupidly simple.

It’s a big chicken dance about all the election shenanigans, when all you gotta do is pop a serial number on the ballots, publish the database of ballots, and voila — fraudproof, because that’s backend verification, so you don’t have to try to do all the various complicated ways to prevent fraud on the front end at all — you don’t have to do any of that, the RESULT is provable. It’s like internet error correction protocols, the internet doesn’t worry about every bit being transmitted, it just checks the final file to make sure it’s correct.

        • Why do you think Democrats are so adamantly opposed to voter ID? It would interfere with their voting strategy, “vote early, vote often, and don’t let death stop you”. Republicans are complicit, since they don’t forcefully stand against it. Perhaps they mistakenly think it leaves the door open for them to do the same, even though they are rank amateurs compared with the Democrats who have been practicing for decades.

          • Yup, I’ll just add … besides the serial/receipt numbers, voter verification is important too — when the number of ballots is more than the number of voters — then you know those ballots are fake. And when the number of fake ballots is more than 1% or so, then everyone must be re-verified — show proof of residence to get their anonymous voting number to use to vote online with, or get a paper ballot that has a serial number on it.

  8. Actually the resistance in the UK is rather strong compared to other countries. Spain- the most diapered country in Europe happens to be the one with the highest cases I wonder why??

  9. Some harridan my wife knows was screaming on her social media about her family’s neighbors in VA who got “the Rona” (her words). All had recovered except one elderly who was supposedly “on a ventilator” (the words that are meant to evoke a sickness MUCH serious-er than the flu). The woman went on to lambast people she knew that continue to live life in spite of her story as opposed to constantly fearing “the danger.” Some people have simply lost all sense of proportion when it comes to sickness and death. They seem to relish lockdowns, diapers, no gatherings, etc. all for the sake of imposing their manias on everybody else via gov’t coercion. If Plugs hooks and crooks this election, it’s going to go from bad to worse quickly.

    • Hi Hattaras,

I think it will get worse, too – for us as well as them. I’m just speaking for me, but I’ve had enough. I am tired of being presumed sick – without limit, without the slightest reason for rational suspicion that I am sick. Fuck these people. Would they wear handcuffs because I dreaded that they might be thieves? The assertion is just as legitimate as theirs.

      • I share your sentiments. Without going into too much detail, the business my wife and I built that was our sole livelihood for a decade was completely destroyed this year by unlawful gov’t tyranny at the local and state level. Zeroed out. Not even sure if there’s anything left for the Feds to destroy at this point. From the very beginning of it, I sensed that they we’re actually trying to kill us and our way of life. 8+ months in and the virus cultist, Orange Man Bad, virtue signaling douches don’t seem to understand they are an existential threat to people like me. It’s like, “just put on your mask”, “just accept communism”, “just accept the evisceration of your humanity”, “just forsake your children’s future for the sake of a few elderly immunocompromsied people”, just OBEY. We’re still friends, right. Uh, sure. /s

        • Hatterasman,

I am so sorry to hear that. That is the worst thing about all of this. The long time ran small businesses that are apart of all our communities. My family is on the verge of shutting theirs down and the next lockdown it will be likely. I have clients teetering on the verge of bankruptcy and others who don’t know if they will be in business come next January. It is heartbreaking to watch, because they are all good people and deserve nothing but the best. Instead, their livelihood has been ruined due to government overreach and weak willed people.

      • Eric, you just have to let it go. 🙂 Let them be buffoons. Oh, I am all for still making fun of them, but like us, they are making a choice. As long as they don’t bother me, they can wear their “cute” seasonal masks, coordinate them with their outfits, pretend they are making a difference, whatever. Their poor children will need therapy for years to come and the husband will likely drink himself to death to escape the nagging. He isn’t any better though since he goes along with it.

One they start linking bacterial pneumonia to excessive mask wearing they may wake up, then again they may not (no pun intended).

In my head, I have made it a game. How many glares will I get walking through the grocery store? How many looks of surprise? Will the manager from Lowes say anything? So far, I am been mildly disappointed with the outcome, which means the mask wearing hasn’t stopped, but the critiquing of others who don’t wear a mask have dropped substantially. I only got two glares at Lowes on Saturday and no body at the gas station was wearing them (not even the cashier).

        • I disagree that this is a game or a joke.

Those who can make you believe absurdities can be make you commit atrocities. —Voltaire

          • Completely understandable. The sacrifices that people have had to make are not a joke, but internally I deal with it differently, otherwise, it will eat away at me. I try to see a silver lining to everything in life, even if the situation appears grims.

            • Not to nitpick, but I didn’t make any sacrifices. I guess you could say my livelihood was “sacrificed” on the altar of a phony pandemic by virus/diaper cultists in order to further their evil, anti-liberty economic and political goals.

              • All people make sacrifices, especially when starting and managing a business. We sacrifice our time, our capital, and sometimes, our family. Every business that has ever started has been due to a shareholder’s time and commitment in establishing the business and keeping it running. Every business owner (especially small ones) knows their the job is 24/7, 365 days a year. We have forgone family events, holidays, sleep, and paychecks, but we do it because it is our livelihood. It feeds our children, keeps a roof over our heads, and clothes on our back. We may have been sacrificed, but we also have done a lot of sacrificing along the way.

                • I thought by saying “the sacrifices people had to make are not a joke” you were referring to the destruction of biz by gov’t not the day to day work of operating them. Anywho…

  10. Well it looks like my theory about a “visible minority” of mask wearers removing the loathsome rag after the election was wrong. I’ve been to a few places around town since election day and it looks like masks are as prevalent as ever. This is yet another excellent opportunity to remove masks that Americans have once again let pass them by. Looks like we’re in for a long, dark winter indeed.

    • Hi Jim,

This is what happens to weak-minded people who believe what they see on TeeVee. Who cannot resist social pressure; who are afraid of disobeying signs. I’ve loathed the Farce of July for decades, for just this reason. I cannot stand flag-humping poltroons who think they are “free.”

    • Such a load of revisionist bull.

      From the article:
“The government closed Australia’s borders to travelers from China on Feb. 1, the same day as the Trump administration in the United States. But unlike the Trump administration, which has criticized its primary infectious-disease adviser, Anthony S. Fauci, Hunt relied heavily on health experts from the start.”

From a mid-summer article on MSN.

      https://www.msn.com/en-us/news/us/fauci-says-he-doesnt-regret-telling-americans-not-to-wear-masks-at-the-beginning-of-the-pandemic

“In late February and early March as the COVID-19 outbreak began accelerating in the US, hospitals and health facilities experienced severe shortages of personal protective equipment for healthcare workers. In response, experts like Fauci and the US Surgeon General Jerome Adams advised Americans against wearing masks.”

So we listened to them before we didn’t listen to them. There is 15 versions splattered everywhere so no one is ever right or wrong.

he goes on. “And also, it soon became clear that we had enough protective equipment and that cloth masks and homemade masks were as good as masks that you would buy from surgical supply stores,” Fauci added. “So in the context of when we were not strongly recommending it, it was the correct thing.”

Which is why, like Eric points out here, mandatory masking has worked oh so, so well in the UK.

    • It’s funny that an article trying to convince you about Victoria’s lockdowns is using Sydney in New South Wales as an example. The people I know in Sydney don’t diaper, and say it’s less than 50%. What you and WaPo are trying to say, is that Victoria’s lockdowns and diapering are so affective, it transiently affected New South Wales as well. Of course it had nothing to do with their closed border. You know, something our self proclaimed president elect thought was racist and xenophobic.

    • First the testing, then the lockdowns, then the vaccine, then Common Pass, which United Airlines has already started implementing. It will soon be a requirement everywhere. They can merge this with their HR 6666 bill for contact tracing at the start of the 117th Congress and then we are off to the races. 🙁

    • These attempts at central planning a sickness are as laughable as they are tyrannical. Why not just make getting sick illegal? I’m sure “cases” would diminish quickly. LOL. My take is that these states are doubling down on these insane measures now in light of the increased potential of Plugs winning. This means that there is also an increase potential for them to achieve their unstated objective, which is to get the Feds to emit more trillions of printed money to them in order to fill the gigantic black holes their state budgets have become. At this point, however, the economic damage is done and they couldn’t “turn on” the economy even if they wanted to.

      • Maybe you are on to something… clearly NY, NJ, CT, CA, IL and others have made being healthy illegal. Hence, pretend you are sick or get tested and perfect that to become a “case” in order to avoid arrest. Coming soon – knocks on the door with a long q-tip aimed at your nose.

  11. 60+ neighbor down the street had her gall bladder removed in April. She got a call from her GP last week asking if she had COVID in the hospital. She said no, she wasn’t even tested. The GP had gotten a notice one of his patients, my neighbor, tested positive for COVID blah blah take precautions. The GP said they probably marked you positive for the money reimbursement.

Perverse incentive, no? Consider 50-60% of COVID + tests to be fraud and just a money grab.

  12. We all know the mask has nothing to do with a virus, but is a fear tactic and it is working. It worked so well that the American public was so scared to vote in person that they willingly voted by mail, which allowed for the greatest political fraud in history. We are actually in the midst of a government coop. The Dems aren’t even trying to hide it. They literally don’t care that we know what they are doing, because we have proven to them we aren’t going to anything about it.

I won’t lie, the last few days I have had a major chip on my shoulder. While out in public I have made comments that I usually weren’t make under normal circumstances, such as “Oh, Ma’am, you no longer have to wear a mask. The election was yesterday and Biden is winning, COVID has been cured.” I have gotten a few weird glances, but nobody has disputed it.

  13. Unfortunately it appears as of today that the Orange Man is doomed and we’re going to be stuck with plugs. As much as the left accused the Orange Man of being the angry child, he was the only adult in the room in saying we need to learn to live with this virus and move on. Ironic that the Orange Man who came to fame on a reality show that used the term “you’re fired!” didn’t use that term to Fauci and that whole team, Wray and the FBI all the way down to the field offices, and another 10,000 deep staters all working against him for 4-years.

We all going to get another dose from Dr Fauci’s medicine bag of authoritarian scare tactics. Get Ready for Plugs *dark winter* coming in 2021.

      • I agree…
        It ain’t over yet…
The Supreme Court should step in and invalidate ALL votes in the areas where cheating was taking place. The court should order all votes received after the deadline and those with questionable origins to be invalidated.
The governors and mayors of the “several states” should be arrested and charged with fraud, malfeasance of office and other criminal acts regarding the oath of office that they all took.
        Will it happen??
        Only time will tell.
There is precedence for the Supreme Court to make final decisions as to voting irregularities. The Florida “hanging chad” case comes to mind.

      • Hi Eric

The fraud has been exposed. It’s not like they’re even trying to hide it. They always telegraph exactly what they are going to do and what they are doing. It’s happening in plain sight for those with their eyes open to see it.

The problem is no one seems to care! Where’s Congress? Where is the republican machine? Where are the counter demonstrations? Instead we get chaos, inconsistent court rulings, some of which are being outright flaunted in-your-face, without consequence, and keyboard outrage.

This was the plan, also telegraphed in advance. This is why coronavirus would not go away – mail in ballots were needed for this contingency. OM was never getting a second term. Never. And that is how the cookie crumbles.

    • The windbag had 4 freaking years. Oblahblah executive ordered the crap out of everything. But the white jesus did what??? We didn’t even get our school vouchers like he promised, so that parents could spend their tax money on any school they wanted (including private, or home school). He could have ordered that we get a receipt number on our ballots, that would prevent 90% of all election fraud. But he didn’t even do that. IDK what he even did, maybe some little things here and there, but what good are those little things when we’re all being “shutdown” and most of us will be murdered in death camps??? What the heck!

Well this is what you get with a “representative democracy” — that’s just a fancy name for dictatorship. Dictatorships are never good, they’re always bad, because that’s how they work by their very design, it’s impossible for a dictatorship to ever work out good.

This entire country’s system is a total failure. There is no saving it. The only hope is for the people start a new country. We’ll all probably be dead before they get organized or can even think about doing such a thing, they’ll just keep looking to their dictators to save them, they can never think outside the box, they’ll just keep staying within the corrupt system. LOSERS. We’re all losers. The evil demonrats are all losers too — they’re all going to burn in hells, and we normal people are losers because we let them stomp all over us, and we don’t even do anything about it.

    • well put Hans. All OM did was hire snakes throughout his presidency, And it may get him in jail. A communists wet dream. He thought sucking up to the zios and neocons would protect him. NOPE. He was completely unprepared to win in 2016 – let the supididity of the russia nonsense distract him – and the final coup de grace was putting the smirking backstabbing communist fauci in charge of corona. He only woke up at the end. Also taking on the slimy kushner as an ‘adviser’ ew

  14. Face diapers work perfectly – for their intended purpose unrelated to stopping cases counts. But this is a red herring. The next phase is about to begin – stringent lockdowns, travel prohibitions, school shutdowns (what semblance remains of their being open now), restrictions on holiday gatherings, etc. The diaper architects have publicly said all of this. Now with the Demented Diaperer being cemented in place, the blue states can do this at will, knowing they will be fully insulated and made whole with federal bailout money (just not to the people who lost jobs or their business or revenues). Or it will be federal. The UK and Australia are instructive on our Future. January and February look dark, and not for want of sunlight.

PS: a little bird has told me NJ is about to announce a 6 week lockdown. Half credible source, so let’s see.

  15. I’ve noticed that the most hardcore face diaper hypochondriac SJW virtue signalers have found ways to cover their faces almost entirely when wearing their masks. Almost everyone else has found ways around it, like under the nose, under the chin, super loose, not pinched at the nose, etc. However, the hardcore face diaper hypochondriac SJW virtue signalers wear it tightly right under their eyes, down their necks, and up to their ears. Total face coverage!

    • Well, after what they’ve done to this country they SHOULD be ashamed to show their faces. I can’t say much for the rest of it.

  16. According to a study the esteemed “Dr.” Fauci conducted approximately 4 years ago,the major cause of deaths during the “1918 flu pandemic” was bacterial pneumonia, NOT influenza. The common denominator was the (forced) wearing of masks. Sound familiar? Look for an uptick in respiratory illnesses in the coming months due to mask-wearing. The study is available on the internet…

    • The bacterial connection to the Spanish Flu has long been suspected, at least 20 years now. In one such case Andrew Noymer, at the time a researcher at UC-Berkley, linked it to tuberculosis to explain why it was disproportionally fatal to young and middle aged men.

      https://www.berkeley.edu/news/media/releases/2000/10/25_flu.html

It’s also critical to highlight that it wasn’t until 1928 that Alexander Fleming discovered penicillin and it didn’t come into general use until 1942. So *any* bacterial infection in 1918 was very serious. A lot of people who got ill from anything chest related died due to bacterial pneumonia, even otherwise common colds that turned worse.

I’ve read that COVID cases (actual cases, as in actual sick people) have been tested by curious doctors (you remember those, the ones who practice actual science) and found people with TB as well as other infections such as Legionnaires’ disease.

All of this is why the standard course of care is to use antibiotics with respiratory diseases, including flu.
