  1. People give Noem the credit for S. Dakota never imposing mask mandates and lockdowns. Wrong! She wanted to lockdown and force masking, like the rest, but the S. Dakota legislature wouldn’t let her. C’mon, you really think that dolt would go against the grain and not follow the herd? The woman who does what she’s told, never questions anything, kills her dog, puts Israel first, badly compromised, yeah right. The head of Homeland Security who can’t even secure her own purse.

  2. Ok, maybe it’s just 5D chess, and the Trump regime is pushing it so the baddies will be forced to oppose it and throw it off the books? If so that would be better than allowing it to fester. When your opponent has no scruples about trying to destroy you and uses the same lawfare tactics over and over again, maybe that is not just a viable strategery but a good one?

    I don’t know but until people realize that their data is private property and that most of these databases constitute theft and violations of their right to privacy (fuck you Robert Bork!), until that becomes a part of the culture and law again, then we’re screwed.

    • That might be an interesting tactic.

      Trump could say “Nice spring day, isn’t it?” and half the people in this country would complain that it’s not overcast and sleeting. If you want to force the issue and drive a stake in the heart of this thing this is the moment to cut the legs out.

      Now I don’t think it’s 5D chess but badly played checkers with the public facing empty suits, so giving this much credit is a stretch.

    ‘The U.S. Navy has long run out of military targets in Yemen. Its ships have emptied their magazines. They can not replenish at sea and need to go to a friendly harbor that has the appropriate equipment (e.g., Crete; Bahrain).

    ‘Three F-18 fighter jets and some 20+ Reaper drones were lost fighting the Houthis.

    ‘A Navy fighter jet failed to land on an aircraft carrier and plummeted into the Red Sea on Tuesday, marking the fourth major mishap involving the vessel and the third loss of a fighter jet deployed with it since the warship left home last year.

    ‘The latest incident, reported earlier by CNN, followed the loss of another jet, an F/A-18E, in an accident aboard the Truman last week in which the aircraft tumbled overboard after sailors aboard lost control of it while towing it in the ship’s hangar bay.

    ‘A third fighter jet from the Truman was shot down accidentally over the Red Sea in December by another Navy warship, the USS Gettysburg, in an incident that triggered concerns about communication among warships and fighter jets in the region.

    ‘The Truman also was involved in a collision in the Mediterranean Sea in February, prompting the service to fire its commanding officer, Navy Capt. Dave Snowden.

    ‘The U.S. Navy spent over a billion dollars on ammunition on Yemen. It lost more than half a billion in flying equipment and managed to achieve nil.’

    • I have a hunch that the US Navy and administration higher-ups are lying or at least obfuscating the truth about the three aircraft that were “lost”.
      The Houthis have more guts than most and do have accurate missile targeting capabilities. It would not surprise me if the aircraft were damaged or destroyed by missiles delivered by the Houthis in response to attacks from the US Navy for daring to attack “poor little israel”.
      The “agreement” that the Houthis have, not to attack American assets is but more proof that both the US government and israel are playing a losing game.
      Now if the Houthis would do enough damage to israel directly, we might just get somewhere…taking out Dimona or Tel Aviv would be a good thing.

    • When I was a young idiot, I could run for miles with a 150 pound rack of bones and sinew. Still was weak and meek as a lamb, the reality. One is always vulnerable to pain and misery, it never goes away.

      One time, I ran a distance along a path where I saw a circle of stones that represented some kind of symbolic significance, more than just a fire to roast a few hot dogs and marshmallows for the fun of it.

Remember the COVID vaccine passports that many governments tried to shove down people’s throats just a few years ago, framed as “Saaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaafety” & “Protecting public health from dirty Anti-vaxxers”.

      It’s just another step towards implementing a “social credit score” like the Chinese commies have. Be a good citizen or you won’t be allowed to travel or buy groceries.
      All the recent articles about it being fifty years since the end of the Vietnam war reminded me that one of the rationales for the war was “if we don’t fight the Commies there someday we might have to fight them on the beaches of California”. Gotta love the irony, the commies took over California without firing a shot.

        As for REAL ID, NO presidential administration has enforced it since it was passed by Congress 20 years ago and now the Trump 2.0 administration is going to start enforcing that. Don’t you find that interesting? That’s just one thing that has disappointed me regarding the Trump 2.0 administration.

Just wait until the Feds start rounding people up for having the wrong opinion, never mind not being up-to-date on your vaccines (for your safety, of course).
