Here’s today’s Clover – another Truck Bro Clover! Technically, it was an SUV Clover, but that’s a difference with little distinction. Both like to drive well below the speed limit – which is ok, if that’s your thing. But their defining attribute is not yielding to other traffic that wants to drive at least the speed limit. The interesting thing about these Clovers is they’re not driving Priuses. The latter buy Priuses because gas mileage is everything to them and they drive slow to get the best mileage they can. But who buys a 15 MPG V8-powered truck or SUV and then drives it like a Prius to save gas?

As far as slowing for the AGW, all states have a “Move Over Law” in place. If there are flashing blue/red/amber lights you MUST either move left or slow significantly. To not do so in North Carolina is $450 fine + court costs (I would imagine) and points on your license. If you are young and are the new, and so fashionable, “graduated” license it’s an automatic revocation of your license.

My clover story is different today; a woman in a SUV in the lane next to me didn’t look as she attempted to switch lanes, had to honk to get her to back off. Best part was she wound up going to the bank anyway, so what was the point in the first place?

I also love it when there’s no one behind me, and some clover decides to pull out, then chug along, like “REALLY?!”
I’m already doing 5 over, now I gotta slow up. Fortunately, rules are meant to be broken, so I return the favor and cut them off, despite it being “illegal” once things open up. That’s also why I don’t get a dash cam, even if I nearly got hit by an AGW later on leaving a shopping center, cause I drive too fast and cut off the driving dead
I had a guy do that to me one Winter. Not a soul behind me! I was slipping & sliding all over the place trying not to hit the fool. I flashed my brights & laid on the horn, which apparently offended him. For he pulled over at the next side road, then proceeded to tail gait me to my next turn off a few miles up the road. While waiting for the car in front of me to turn (we were both in the turn lane), the idiot driver stopped in the middle of the road to yell at me! I did not even look at the bastard. This is 1. Why people drink and 2. why I drive with my car doors locked.

This happens to me often as well. I’ll be the only car on the road; up ahead, someone in another car is waiting to turn onto the road I’m on from a side road. He pulls out in front of me and then doesn’t accelerate, forcing me to slow down to avoid running into him. If he’d waited another 5 seconds before pulling out, ge could have pulled onto the road after I’d passed. But, no – he’s got to pull out in front and then just creep along. Clovers ruin everything!
I’m sure the Clover response if questioned: “you should have left home earlier”
No you moron, you get the hell off the highway quit wasting other people’s time and creating a traffic hazard with your idiot driving habit. Normal people have stuff to do and expectation of getting around their travels efficiently.
Workers on the move – plumbers, electricians, local delivery drivers etc see their available working time eaten up by these road morons it’s maddening.
I used to enjoy a beautiful riverside drive on my way to and from the office. Some genius decided to put in a stoplight to interrupt the flow of traffic on that road and now, every damn time I drive that road, I come upon a red light and traffic is backed up 10 cars deep. This increases the odds that at least one of these cars is being driven by a slow moving asshat.
What once was a pleasant drive down a winding riverside road with no cops to monitor your speed, became a backed up frustration inducing cloverfest all because of a stoplight.
Not sure how you tolerate those roads and clovers.
Too many narcissists packed into too little space is my theory on why we keep seeing more and more of this behavior.
Facts. As I said above, worst are the ones that decide NOW is the best time to merge onto the road, pulling in front of you without warning rather than waiting for you to pass when no ones behind you.
Same asshats get triggered when you cut them back off, like “ok, your middle fingers and honking don’t mean shit when you’re impeding the flow of traffic driving like granny in a ’93 camry when I was going 5 over earlier”. Just a shame about the cameras everywhere and the AGW who have no sense of discretion
