A Look at the ’25 4Runner – and a Clover!

I was doing a quick video about the ’25 Toyota 4Runner when I rolled up behind a Clover who was afeard of the rain. Notwithstanding his Quattro AWD equipped Audi. When I passed the Clover – legal passing zone, no outrageous speed in the process – he flashed his brights at me furiously. This is the 190 proof essence of Cloverism. It is not enough that he adjust his speed to suit his comfort level. Everyone else must be made to “slow down” to the Clover’s comfort level. Those who don’t are “unsafe” drivers – as far as the Clover is concerned.

I wagged my tail at him a little after he flashed his brights. Just to let him know how much I appreciated his bright-flashing at me. I hope he sees this video!

  1. I stand by what I’ve been saying for years now, “People are getting stupider and meaner by the day!” My personal pet peeve is the ones driving on a snow covered road at an asininely slow speed out of fear, I suppose. Pass one of them and they get furious that I’m not as terrified as them.

  2. Regarding the 4Runner engine. The Tacoma gets the same turbo 2.4L T24A-FTS petrol engine, as does the new generation global Hilux and Prado and 250 series Land Cruiser.

Maybe it’s compliance everywhere but they sell the Hilux, Prado and Land Cruiser in a lot of 3rd world markets that still value reliability.

Although they’d opt for diesel where they can. That engine, the 1GD-FTV, is just about as modern and complex as the petrol engine.

  3. Are his backup lights stuck on? Saw two whites among the red in your video.
    If so “HE’S BREAKING…THE LAW!”
Bookem’ Danno, defective equipment ticket incoming!

(Audi getting their wiring from Lucas now?)
