Guy in a Challenger is arrested for the god-awful crime against humanity of driving 89 MPH in a 55:

Keep in mind that the 55 MPH speed limit is grossly under-posted, set well below the 85th percentile. Traffic probably flows at 65-ish on this road.A reasonable speed limit based on the 85th percentile would be 65-70.

Thus, the driver in this video was traveling maybe 10-15 MPH faster than the routine flow of traffic.

And was arrested at gunpoint for it.

  1. The more likely reason for pulling this guy over:

Oh, there ain’t no rest for the wicked
    Money don’t grow on trees
I got bills to pay, I got mouths to feed
There ain’t nothin’ in this world for free

The local gov’t and ins. mafia want more money.

I’d like to say I’m shock about someone being arrested and put in jail, but I’m only surprised it is not more common.

Senior year high school: A friend drove down to Georgia to see his girlfriend during Easter break. (We were in school in NJ)

After he returned to told the class about being pulled over in SC and a stay in jail for 81mph in a 65mhph zone on I-95. Local gov’t wanted to make sure they receive the money for the speeding violation. He spent a day in jail, until the money was wired via Western Union.
