Here’s a video of an interaction with AGW Roach (spelled Roche but pronounced correctly). The bulletheaded tax-eater berates the man for claiming he pays the AGW’s salary – which isn’t exactly right, but for reasons other than asserted by the man making the video.
He is forced to pay taxes, which are used to finance the salaries of roaches such as AGW Roche. Whether the man was forced to hand over $5 or $5,000 isn’t the relevant fact. The relevant fact is he is forced to pay for “services” he didn’t ask for.
As are we all.
This is the fundamental reason why there can be no such thing as a “good” AGW. Good people do not steal – and do not force others to pay their salaries. The fact that AGWs (and government “workers” generally) resort to force tells us much about the market value of the “services” they provide. If you have to use guns to get people to pay you, it tells you they’d rather not pay you.
And if they’d rather not, what gives them the right to make people pay?
Think about your own line of work. Whatever it is you do, if it’s not backed by force, it is honest and so honorable work. People freely pay you because they value what you do enough to be willing to pay you to do it.
But almost all of what government does is extortion. One can argue sophistically about the “need” or “value” of whatever it is that people are being forced to pay for but the bottom line is they’re being forced to pay for things they do not value – because others do.
Those others ought to pay for whatever it is themselves – and leave those who would rather not out of it.
Unless, of course, you believe you have the right to force others to pay for the things you want.
