It is styled Lane Keep Assistance Technology – but it’s not really that. It is a “technological” response to something else.
Possibly two things.
The first being drivers who cannot maintain their lane because they are on the phone. It is not a coincidence that all this assisting has become necessary in correlation with the rise of all that tapping and swiping. Before there were sail fawns there was not an epidemic of wandering across the double yellow – or off onto the shoulder. One occasionally fell behind an elderly driver who had trouble keeping it straight, but that was due to age-related physical decline, as opposed to technology-induced decline.
The irony here, of course, is that drivers are on the one hand regularly lectured about texting while driving and there are laws in many states making the doing an actionable infraction. And on the other hand, the cars most people are driving have built-in sail fawns, larger versions of the hand-held variety – and there are no regulations banning these from being installed in the cars people drive.
Expecting them to not use these built-in sail fawns is like leaving a bag of chips in the vicinity of a teenager and being surprised there are no chips left, an hour later.
People who have these devices are going to tap and swipe them – whether it’s their phones or the screens built into their cars. And when they do, they often swerve. This yawing-meandering motion is become as commonplace as tailgating and left lane-hogging. And rather than deal with the problem of such driving, the driver is . . . “assisted” via “technology” that corrects for the meandering and swerving. The fact that it is annoying – especially to drivers who don’t wander – cuts no more ice than the fact that a person isn’t sick cuts it with those who insist upon Face Diapers for all.
But there may be another factor in play, a more recent development than the mass-addling of the population via “technology.”
It could be the mass-Jabbing of the population.
It is hard to quantify this possibility, but anecdotally, it seems that lane-wandering and other indications of driving debility in need of “assistance” have waxed as the drugs have flowed into people’s arms.
It is not just the wandering, either.
There seems to be a kind of general obliviousness tinged with inertness. A generalized fugue state. More drivers failing to notice the green light. Stopping two car lengths ahead of the red light. Stopping in the middle of the road and then turning on their turn signal – and making their turn, after having stopped.
It suggest a kind of galloping senility among the not-yet-elderly.
And – since people have only aged about a year since the onset of all this mass Jabbing – is it possible they’ve been aged by the Jabs? One of the indices of aging is hardening of the arteries, including the cerebral ones; of mild strokes inducing progressive deterioration of faculties, both mental and physical. The Jabs are not only anecdotally correlated with such things, it has finally been admitted to that they cause such things. Ostensibly, only in a small handful of cases among the millions who’ve been “vaccinated.”
We ought perhaps to keep in mind who is telling us that. It’s the same people – and organizations – that assured us the “vaccines” were “effective,” i.e., who lied to us about them not preventing the getting or the giving of the sickness they did not immunize the Jabbed from getting or giving. The same people who turned the world upside down on account of a “virus” they told us would kill millions but which, as it turned out, killed almost no one who wasn’t already very sick or very weak or very obese. The 99.8-something percent of the population that did not fall into one of these three categories needed “vaccines” like Liberace needed Playboy.
The reference isn’t random.
Liberace – the flamboyantly not-heterosexual piano player of the ’70s and ’80s – ended up dying of AIDs, the acquired immune deficiency syndrome that ended the lives of many non-heterosexual men. There is reason to believe straight men – and women – may have had their immune systems rendered deficient, too. Via the “vaccines” they “acquired” by being (most of them) greatly pressured to take, in order to not lose their jobs.
These “vaccines” appear to do everything except prevent the getting and giving of the sickness they do not immunize against. Like cause peak-condition athletes in their 20s and 30s to keel over so often it’s hard to keep track of how many (it’s pushing 1,000 so far) and kids in their teens and even younger developing heart problems all of a sudden – a thing formerly as uncommon among that demographic as a bad case of acne among the geriatric.
And it could account for why there seems to be so much geriatric driving going on all of a sudden.
Per the TeeVee commercials, perhaps it’s time to ask your doctor about this.

I rented a Toyota Forerunner one Winter a few years back, while my old, WRX was getting fixed. It had all the usual, saaaaftey stuff on it. Even with that crap turned off, it still wanted to “steer me” back into the centre lane. Excuse me, but during the Winter, we do not care where the lines are: We drive where the roads are free and clear of snow and ice, the painted lines be damned. At least there was no noise to make the forced steering more annoying.

travelling 100 miles in an average EV uses 1.03 gallons equivalent of fuel = 34.7 kwh of electricity @ $0.40 per kwh = $13.88, back at the power plant 4 gallons were burnt to get the net 34.7 kwh of electricity. NOTE: 4 gallons were burnt to go 100 miles.
EV owner uses 4 gallons to go 100 miles, that is 25 mpg, lots of ice cars get better fuel economy.

I worked in aerospace for 34 years, most of it mfg engr in flight controls. The design guys were very aware of this, and any proposed design improvement was carefully analyzed from a reliability standpoint. Even down to adding connectors for ease of assembly (my realm). “Can’t we run that auto throttle wiring in one chunk out to the controller?” “You add connectors, affects our reliability analysis”. Mechanical also, people have no idea the brainpower and work involved to design/build a reliable safe airliner.
Some of my co workers came from automotive, their driver was cost – how little they were budgeted for fasteners, connectors, wiring was amazing. Surprised me to finally see better quality wiring and connectors starting, for me, with our 1991 Chevy truck.

It was just a couple/few weeks ago, on one of your articles, that I commented about not having caught anything since Jan 2020. And the concern being that I’m not superman, I’m a 57 year old software engineer. In pretty decent shape, not obese, eat healthy, and don’t take experimental poison.
Well, my “worries” on that front have come to an end! This past weekend, I was at an event with about 60 people and most (probably 95% or better, I’d guess) were vaxxed/poisoned.
Nobody at the event appeared or sounded sick. The only person that I kissed was my wife! Now I have the full-blown covid and this time, unlike in 2020 (where I wasn’t even sure if I had actual ‘rona), this time I know “for sure” (as can be, demonstrated by an at-home rapid antigen test).
My wife has it now too. We’re getting through it the usual way, the “old fashioned” way. No horse paste, no HCQ, just supplements and some herb tinctures.
And yeah, it sucks and is a pain (in several ways) but I’m breathing just fine and so is my wife. Sore throat and coughing up peanut-butter colored phlegm on occasion along with fever on and off. But I *STILL* have had worse! Much worse before.
The whole thing is still a hoax (i.e., the over reaction by all governments). I’m DELIGHTED and proud that I refused the vaxx to the point of almost losing my job. I won’t have that shit by my choice regardless of the consequences.

I was actually in VA Beach this past Tue when this all started. And while I didn’t go for a run, I refused to lay down. Dragged my tired ass up and out! We went out to the First Landing State Park for some hiking and then to the beach the following day.
It really felt good to be out in the heat, with the fresh air. Definitely had me feeling better! Gotta keep that circulation going! Did some deep breathing for better blood O2, etc.
We finally went back home yesterday and since, I have Uncle Joe’s freebie tests accumulating on my desk, I decided to see if what I have is the ‘rona or not. Last time in 2020 when I got sick people gave me shit about “you don’t know if you actually had it or not because you didn’t get tested!”
IMO, there’s is zero upside and 100% downside risk of going out and getting tested (i.e., the reporting and getting on a list, etc). I still haven’t done either and still recommend that people never do so.

But ok, that reminds me of a little incident on the way to State College this past weekend. Two lanes going north over the Francis Scott Key bridge on the Baltimore beltway. Typically a well patrolled (AGW) area, used to have a huge toll booth array (but replaced with automation), and there’s a truck weighing station.
I started in the left lane, about 5-7 MPH over the speed limit as usual. I see the silhouette of an SUV in the mirror that could have been an AGW. I slow down and get behind the long line of trucks in the right lane.
Turns out, that SUV was not an AGW. Just as he passed, the long line of trucks heading into the weigh station got suddenly jammed up! The truck directly in front of me was over-committed and rather than slam on the breaks and rear-end the truck in front of him, the driver swung quickly into the left lane! I had to break hard myself.
Perfect timing, smashed the not-AGW SUV into the concrete “wall of death” (on the far left), right in front of me! Semi + Concrete + SUV sandwich… which would have been me and the wife if I hadn’t been worried about a speeding ticket.
I have an idea.
Why doesn’t California ban all internal combustion engines, starting tomorrow?

Unexpected braking complaints were up from just 354 complaints in February, according to a May 4 letter the NHTSA sent to Tesla’s Field Quality Director Eddie Gates, Bloomberg reported in a separate wrap up Friday morning.
The issue of phantom braking in Tesla vehicles has long been discussed as a potential safety hazard, along with other wonderful features of Tesla’s Full Self Driving. Remember, we wrote back in February that the NHTSA was looking at over 416,000 Teslas over “phantom braking”.

In regular mode the plaid is slow and it takes too long to put in launch mode, so you can’t race at lights, so what good is it?

They’ve figured out that if they drive the speed limit in the left lane, they don’t have to worry about what’s in front of them. Most of the time. I do like the maps function. And the spoken directions on the phone, though. Key is to tie it to your car’s audio. Back in the day, I do remember driving with paper maps! However, the only ones I could use while driving were whatever was in book form. (Thomas Guide, or ADC)
There are many “sail fawn” functions that are attractive, else they would not have achieved the popularity they have. The question being, are you willing to abdicate all those things to your device, or exercise your mind to do so, as in reading a map? Somehow, after driving for several miles/hours, the inconvenience of stopping to review a map is intolerable? Using “sail fawn” tech to plot your course, tell you when and in what direction to turn, turns you into an occupant of the phone directed vehicle. Instead of an intrepid explorer of the universe.
Interesting. I can’t stand maps on a phone, though I use them. I prefer using my Garmin to do the noise and specifics navigating. For a broad overview, I still use paper maps, though they are becoming much harder to find.
