This was written two days ahead of the organized and well-funded Me Gusta! (really, no me gusta!) protests that are scheduled to erupt in full on the 14th.
What to make of them?
Well, they are not about “immigration” anymore than being “anti-vax” was about not being okay with other people choosing to have themselves injected with whatever-was-in-those needles. Immigration has never been illegal. The problem many Americans have is with illegal immigration and more precisely with the obnoxious double standard that allows foreign nationals to flout the law (and not just immigration law) and be largely immune from consequences while American citizens are not only expected to hew to the letter of every law – including the most penny ante, such as having all the up-to-date ear tags displayed on their cars. The Me Gustans seem to be able to drive old beaters without the ear tags – or the mandatory (for citizens) insurance with near-impunity because they have little of any value that can be seized as punishment. Impound the old beater – the Me Gustan will just buy another one. Fine him? How? He probably doesn’t have a driver’s license or a legal address, let alone any bank accounts or wages to garnish.

If American citizens were not persecuted endlessly by the law over legalisms – and forced on top of that to pay for the lawless Me Gustans‘ “free” stuff such as SNAP cards, hotel rooms and government schools for their kids (financed by property taxes the Me Gustans don’t pay since they don’t own houses) most would probably not care that the Me Gustans are not “playing by the rules. ” That is to say, obeying the rules. The annoyance emanates from the fact that they don’t – but we must.
No me gusta, indeed. 
So what are the Me Gustans protesting, exactly? That they might be held accountable for not playing by the rules? If so that is a strange conceit. It is not likely to go well for them, either. What is their argument? We are just here – and you’d better accept (and pay for it) or else we will riot and loot? That seems to be the nut of it. More finely, it seems to be the nut of what the Left is expecting us to accept. They are not Leftists, of course. They are Communists and what they want is chaos and this is how you get it. Their argument amounts to: You have stuff and others need stuff therefore you must give (sic) them stuff. Meaning you will be forced to give it up. 
The movie, Dr. Zhivago, portrays how this works nicely. The Dr. returns to his home to find it full of Communists. It is no longer his home. He is their roommate. This is what the Me Gustans are being used to further. Ten million or more of them. More than the entire population of Tennessee, to give you some sense of it. More than the combined manpower of the entire German Wehrmacht at the beginning of Operation Barbarossa, the invasion of the Soviet Union. It is a lot of Me Gustans, in other words. And not just them. There are also a ot of Haitians and Chinese and God-only-knows how many other foreigners who came here illegally during the four years of the Weekend at Bernie’s presidency of Joe Biden.
If even a third of them are young men then we have a big problem if these young men decide to form a kind of ad hoc army and launch their own Barbarossa (which of course they already have, since they are already here).
It probably isn’t ad hoc, either.
We may be on the cusp of what won’t be a civil war – as some think is imminent – but rather a war more like the one that began with Barbarossa all those years ago. The big difference being the Soviets knew they were being invaded as they were being invaded. What’s happened in our time – over the past four years – is that the invasion happened and we just sort of allowed it. If you can visualize the Soviets allowing more than three million Germans to march across the border and make themselves comfortable in Minsk and Moscow before they did anything about it then you have some sense of what has happened.
So, what happens next?
We’ll soon see. It is not likely to be pretty, either.

Jews have been at the forefront of “civil-rights” efforts which also are an opening for their advocacy for “multiculturalism” and “diversity”. These efforts, while being considered necessary by most decent law-abiding citizens do have one ulterior motive–the diminution or even outlawing of “freedom of association”, but only for the dominant racial group–gentile Whites. Minority groups are encouraged to voluntarily self-segregate while this self-segregation is denied to to the majority group–gentile Whites. This is by design.
Although Jewish interests cannot and should not be blamed for all of the world’s ills regarding cultures, Jews DO play an inordinate part in the decline of (especially White gentile) cultures. This “dilution” of (only) gentile White cultures is being used as a weapon which weakens the cultural an moral bonds of the dominant culture while causing unnecessary friction and unneeded turmoil within the dominant society.
Taken from a historical concept, one could safely argue that White gentile European and American cultures have been “poisoned” not unlike the excesses of the Wiemar Republic during post-war (WW1) and pre-war (WW2) Germany.
The Wiemar Republic was a free-wheeling, “anything goes” time in which almost all behaviors were “normalized” and freed from restrictions, not unlike the LGBTQXYZ movement of today. This “movement” ties in with both “multiculturalism” and “diversity” in which we are expected not only to tolerate behavior that (some of us) might find objectionable, but are expected to accept and “celebrate” this behavior by others. As Jews held considerable political and economic power in Germany at the time, it was easy to blame them for the excesses of the Wiemar Republic. Fair? I think not, but perceptions DO hold a lot of weight…
One cannot forget the political turmoil that Europe and Germany was going through at the time, communist interests (primarily Jewish) fomenting hate and discontent throughout the Wiemar Republic. The declaration of (economic) “war” against Germany by “world Jewry” (in 1933) most certainly did German Jews no favor which is a topic for another time.
Jews were (and still are) at the forefront of the so-called “civil-rights”, LGBTQXYZ and abortion movements and exact harsh criticism upon those with differing and opposing beliefs about such “movements”.
“Live and let live” has always been a good practice to follow, but demanding that gentile Whites succumb to the false “siren song” of “multiculturalism” and “diversity” while giving minority groups “special status” is a destabilizing factor and does no one any favors.
And yet I still see white female and black male couples everyday, everywhere. Many with bi-racial rugrats in tow. It’s so bad I rarely see a white couple anymore. These women MUST be brainwashed.
In Europe it is extremely difficult to get a car licensed without proper insurance and even inspections. But in Europe most people get around on mass transit, which has become overwhelmed by diversity. In most parts of Europe on a train there is a conductor who walks around the car checking tickets, but all across the EU the new phenomena that all paying passengers cannot overlook is that conductors deliberately avoid checking the darker shades of diversity, and if they do they inevitably find that there is no ticket. But instead of writing a ticket that will costs a hundred or more Euro, the conductor merely makes the dark diversity exit the train at the next stop. The message is that the darker and more diverse you are, the less transportation fees you have to pay.
But this is where it gets into the more unpleasant aspect of what Eric so cavalierly brushes off with “if they come and want to work, I don’t care”.
A new “migrant” arriving in the US or the EU has contributed nothing to the infrastructure that has been paid for an made available to the public by the locals. By allowing anyone in without paying for this infrastructure (be it hiways, hospitals or even parks), Eric is in effect giving away (diluting) wealth from other members of his community. If Eric wants to facilitate the immigration of “workers”, then he should be prepared to finance accelerated infrastructure construction and over crowding mitigation, AND COMPENSATION.
That’s right, Libertarians like Eric should voluntarily start a fund to prepay reparations to people whose quality of life will be negatively impacted by overpopulation alone. This is not even counting the extra lanes, bridges, railway lines, hospitals, police stations, airport runways and everything else that the community will need because it is only necessitated by the arrival Eric’s pets, er, workers.
There is also another aspect of these “workers” that Libertarian Eric does not want to consider, which is the intelligence levels, levels of aggressivity, and even sexual practices. Allowing Pakistanis into Rotherham where hundreds of underaged girls were turned into prostituted out was a very bad outcome no matter how hard some of the Paki’s might have worked.

And this really gets down to one of the big problems with “Libertarianism”. It is too atheistic and too Jewish. The families of these girls have are the result of thousands of years of local culture. The National Socialists call this “blood and soil”. Libertarians are just rootless cosmopolitans of a different flavor who only care about what government does to them, not what they might need government to do to prevent unpleasant things happening to them, and their family.
Of course land stealing Jews have much less respect for this, and they are in the process of uprooting and destroying local cultures all across the planet. Gaza is the holocaust by Jews, and it is real.
Is there such a thing as “communism” without Jews? I didn’t think so. Communists movements have been created, funded, led and the propaganda created by Jews since long before the Russian Revolution.
The of biggest differences between “Communism”, which Jews love, and “National Socialism”, which Jews hate, is that communism is international. This is where this “me-gusta” invasion becomes an important lesson in pattern matching.

Eric has, perhaps unwittingly, touched on arguably the only real value to having these otherwise insalubrious entities in our country. Namely, they’re mostly unbanked. And without access to credit, that presumably means they’re reliant on cold, hard cash.
Along with the black community, the south-of-the-border types are the proverbial “last Indians standing” between us and a full-blown cashless society, which would mean more tyrannical control over us than we could ever imagine. As long as we’re stuck with them, I hope they at least continue to use cash and don’t become integrated into the credit/debit card economy that prevails today.
Incidentally, I suspect this is the reason why dusky faces have an outsized presence in today’s commercials: it’s Madison Avenue’s way of trying to integrate these unbanked individuals into the coming cashless system by encouraging them to take out store credit (while also going heavily into debt) and move away from hard currency. I’m having trouble following you. Are you accusing me of being anti people having kids? Or is it that you do not approve of my arguing that other people’s decision to have kids should not impose on enforceable obligation on others to provide for them?
You want to have it both ways: other people choose to have children and support them, while you do nothing (the reason you are always saying communism doesn’t work), but your land will stay populated by people of your heritage and culture. Unfortunately, what happens is no-one has children and like in my county the entire population of some schools is English as a 2nd language students. Not much of a leap for Trump to send the troops into Mexico and annex the rest of it (or all central America) to “stop the invasion” or make it the 52nd state so the people can stay right there and get all the benefits of coming here; make their economy great like their leaders haven’t. Regardless the reason given it is just to consolidate N America for the one world government of course not ruled by the UN in NY, but the UN in Israel. First step is to consolidate the continents. But it could just be he believes in empire. He has said small countries should have no voice in UN, but just big countries should divide up everything among themselves (the way heads of European countries used to do).

Also, just the cost of it. I have mentioned before my old house in the Northern VA suburbs. I bought it for around $155k back in the mid-1990s, when I was a young single guy. That same house today is a $600k house – easily $300k more even adjusted for inflation. There is nothing available up there that is within the means of most young guys today, except perhaps a rental apartment. I read the other dat that the average age of a first-time home buyer is now 50-something. In other words, too old to have kids as a practical matter – unless you want to be in your 70s when your kid gets his driver’s license.
Yes, I know – people can make it happen. But it is much harder to make it happen now – even if both the man and the woman work full time. It is damned near impossible for most young guys to support a family unless they live a poverty stricken lifestyle and not many people want to sign up for that, understandably. It is government that did this to us. And government can go straight to Hell.

I believe people are responsible for themselves and those they assume responsibility for – such as kids, which no one is forced to have. While I like kids and try to help The Youth when I am able, I do not accept that their existence imposes an enforceable obligation upon me or any other person to hand over money to help pay for their needs. I believe in help – and charity – when it is willingly given. I do not consider taking other people’s money via threats of violence and dispossession to be anything other than the crime it is by definition.
So – while I would willingly help a young person (such as my niece) I am unwilling to be forced to “help” anyone. Kids or otherwise. Not because I am a selfish person – the usual catcall – but because I will never accept the idea that other people own a piece of me (or my work effort) just because I exist and they have “needs.”

Hey Eric: When I read Curmudgeon’s post, I am reminded of the need for workers to pay for the welfare state, which I first remember being voiced by Pat Buchanan in the early 90’s. At the time, he was highlighting this for Europe, as they were far more welfarist and socialist than the US was. (and still are). Buchanan’s treatise was that a welfare state depends on a growing number of workers to fund it. Our Social Security is a prime example of this. Cast that with the fact of 60M abortions since Roe v Wade (1972?) That’s a whole.lot.of.people contributing! Think of all those people starting from 1972. They would now be in their peak earning years and contributing, via taxation and charity, to the social welfare needs of our people.
Couple that with the currency debasement that has been fever-pitch since Nixon took us off the gold standard in 1971, so you can easily see that all resources are more expensive – when priced in dollars. So now with wage earners not making a great salary, *everything* is so expensive, he knows going in that he will have a very hard time providing for his family. It’s very easy to conclude that he will then say, “So let me choose not to start one.”
Couple that, with the rapacious treatment of men in the family courts, plus the enabling of women to sexual promiscuity brought about by The Pill, and it’s no wonder men are not getting married. As they say, “Why buy the cow if the milk is free.”
I’m a staunch Catholic man, and the only way I see marriage is this: Unless the married couple want to practice a sacramental marriage, which entails huge amounts of sacrificial love, I cannot advise for it. I believe it was the economist Milton Friedman who said that illegal immigration works only if they receive no benefits from the government and if memory serves me correctly that if they receive benefits after coming in illegally you’ll get a whole lot more of them. Looks like he was right after all.
As for deportations, first start with all the ones who commit crimes after entering illegally followed by the ones who don’t work and collect benefits. As for the ones who are working, not committing crimes, not stealing from the system, paying taxes and integrating into the system perhaps a hefty fine, denial of citizenship for them and their offspring might be one solution. One way or another people will try to jump the que the goal should be to punish them in a way that discourages them but allow use of highly skilled individuals without adversely affecting the existing population (lowered wages, crime and cultural destruction).
It’s a sh*tty stick but it will have to grabbed at some point. Perhaps we should deport the libtards and replace them with hard working Mexican stone masons?

Forgive me for adding a comment regarding Milton Friedman. I believe Friedman’s point he was making was you can have mass immigration and is a benefit to a society as long as you don’t have a welfare state supporting it. They can come but they are on their own to earn a living. More earners; equals more human efforts being compensated, equals a growing economy. His point also ironically makes conservatives defenders of the welfare state by limiting immigration.
I disagree with Friedman in that mass immigration is an invasion of peoples who do not share our common heritage and understanding of the constitution and Judeo-Christian values. Moreover, mass immigration will drive down current market labor costs for all workers due to larger supply of labor and competition from those willing to work for less. Eventually that trickles up as these immigrants gain skills and are still willing to work for less at trade level then management positions. All good if you are Jeff Bezos. Look what happened to Europe with mass immigration from countries that believe in Islam. That is an invasion of peoples not to assimilate into society but from those who come to undermine it and destroy it to remake it into the vision of Muhamad.

When there was last an enormous immigration wave during 1875-1925, the United States had no welfare state to speak of. There was limited welfare at the state, county, and city level, mostly in the form of workhouses and asylums, with private charities taking up the slack.

In 1965, that all changed with the Great Society and Ted Kennedy’s Hart Celler Act.

We want the skilled workers who will integrate into our society and not those who won’t. The hard part is differentiating the two and having the balls to throw out the rejects. Branding the rejects is still on the table as far as I’m concerned….
It does seem like truck, car collisions are more prevalent than in the past. Is it because there are more drivers on the road? Is it still the idiots in 4 wheelers who still don’t know how to drive or is it maybe because the competence of the truckers is lower? It could be the latter. Truck moves used to be predictable to most who lacked proper driving skills. Add unpredictability to those who cannot drive and an increase in accidents could become inevitable.
If anything, this legal/illegal immigrant thing needs to be addressed from a licensing and driver training perspective.
Perhaps, if we adopted a no reprisals system where people of any legal status could get proper driver training and licensing, the situation would improve.
A wholesale redo of the driver education is needed. Ongoing drivers education as practiced in european countries has produced lower and lower highway fatality totals, while ours have plateaued and rising in some cases.
True story. When I learned to drive, the old man told me to watch and do what professional drivers do – and give them plenty of space.
Try that advice today with a driver-in-training and it would be full blown chaos.

Car registration? Forget about it. Or just charge $30.00 a year for it.
